Just found this channel from your other channel (from your visit to my channel!) I'm excited to follow your journey! We're empty nesters as well and looking forward to our own adventures although no plans to move overseas! I can follow along and adventure through you!
We are thinking of being expats. Chile.. China I'm honestly so nervous about. It has nothing to do with being Chinese, either, it has everything to do with being scared of the instability. I can't begin to thank you for this channel! THANK you! I cannot wait to see these vidoes.
Hello, I'm Aida from Singapore, welcome ! Life as an Expat here can be very different from local life, and hopefully you get to experience both in equal measure. Good luck on your move, Singapore is an easy country to settle in, safe and with glorious food at every conner. Getting used to the heat and humidity takes a bit, highly recommend those wet Minty tissues on your days out for cooling down and getting rid of the icky-sticky feeling !!
I will be searching out the Minty tissues - We have had a little experience with the humidity as we lived in Houston Texas for many years and my hometown is along the coast there in Texas. Thanks for the kind and supportive words!
Great idea. 👍👍 I don't think I've come across 50+ years old Ytubers chronicling their move to live and work overseas. But then, most don't mention their age so one can only guess. Looking forward to further insights from your channel. 😀
@@beyondthenest hi try this. A bit long and there are 2 parts! CNA it's one of the free to air local channels that produce quite high quality content. ua-cam.com/video/oeU8-_49JiM/v-deo.html
@@beyondthenest For local channels, I would suggest Our Grandfather Story. It’s wholesome (not the typical mindless content) and a nice intro to Singaporeans and the way we speak.

I hope you enjoy - more to come - slowly right now - uploading has proven challenging during a move.
Facebook co-founder lived in Singapore.
I had to go look the name up - I bet he has never had to worry about finding a place he could afford in Singapore.. hee hee
My suggestion, watch some Singlish video, it might be less confusing once you settle in.
That is such a great idea - do you have any channel suggestions?
