I tried this years ago... in my country we do this only with egg yolk, no cream cheese and after mixing using an egg beater, we always remove the bubble to ensure it is smooth. But this recipe blew me away... followed what she did and it just turned out perfect. I just reduced my condesned milk to half. Thanks and christmas is coming this will be on my table! 😀😀

I had flan for the first time when I was around 15 years old and have loved it ever since! I can always tell the difference when people make it with or without cream cheese, too. Looks so good. I got a tip for you. When making the caramel just add 4 tablespoons of water to the pot when it's still cold add the sugar don't stir, don't be tempted and let it melt and turn into an amber color and get caramelized faster and most of the caramel does come out when you flip the flan over.

I just tried making this. I don’t cook or bake so I did not know you’re supposed to put water in with the sugar. You should probably add that for others who don’t know. Luckily when I asked my husband for help, after I screwed up the sugar the first time, he told me to cook it with water. The flan is now done and delicious!!

I LOVE U IVETTE. i have never been able to make flan in my life. I gave up though its 1 of my fav dessert. Im frm Mauritius Island. Being a muslim i fasted for 30 days & was craving for a yummy flan. I like my flan to be thick not jelly. I followed ur recipe except that instead of evaporated milk i used whole milk. It came out perfectly well. It cooked at 1 hour 15 mins. I also learnt how to make a good caramel sauce. Im so thrilled if only i could send u pics. This is a perfect cream cheese flan. Thank u.

Just a quick tip... Don't touch your sugar while it is caramelizing, let it sit, that way it won't clump. Gordon Ramsay has a video explaining this :-) thank you for the video

The purpose of using hot water in the bath it saves baking time. Instead of having to use oven heat just to heat up the water before baking the flan. Great video!
looks great. i'm a huge fan of flan, might just be one of my top favorites but its also the one with the highest failure rate for me when i have attempted to make it myself. good thing that even the failed product still tastes great. one question though - when you said you covered it, did you mean the larger pan or just the small one with the actual flan ?

I don’t know why but my sugar never burns it takes like 25 minutes just to get it to turn a little yellow then 10 more to get it to brown 😂😂😂😂and im jealous on how you made it in 30 seconds
David, it takes my sugar to turn into caramel about 25 minutes too. i just edit so you all don't have to watch 25 min of me making the caramel for the flan. i'm gonna do a coffee flan, and i'm gonna show you how to do the caramel different so that you don't have to be moving it constantly. it's way easier. thanks for watching love ;)

My moms lives 20 minutes away from me in Milwaukee wi....im buying the ingredients and taken the ride to bring her the stuff so she can make this for us for thanksgiving 😂. The purpose of using hot water in the bath it saves baking time. Instead of having to use oven heat just to heat up the water before baking the flan. Great video!

looks great. i'm a huge fan of flan, might just be one of my top favorites but its also the one with the highest failure rate for me when i have attempted to make it myself. good thing that even the failed product still tastes great.
one question though - when you said you covered it, did you mean the larger pan or just the small one with the actual flan ?

I don’t know why but my sugar never burns it takes like 25 minutes just to get it to turn a little yellow then 10 more to get it to brown 😂😂😂😂and im jealous on how you made it in 30 seconds
David, it takes my sugar to turn into caramel about 25 minutes too. i just edit so you all don't have to watch 25 min of me making the caramel for the flan. i'm gonna do a coffee flan, and i'm gonna show you how to do the caramel different so that you don't have to be moving it constantly. it's way easier. thanks for watching love ;)
