This is so great to see. It would be interesting to know what sold Gallo on using rail instead of trucks? This could be used as a model to help sell Mas Coastal services to other businesses,
I'll bet the neighbors had a fit. In Vermont, they have been trying to build a short branch into a quarry for over 30 years to reduce heavy stone truck traffic through Brandon, VT. So far the NIMBY's have stopped it, defying common sense.
You didn't mention the gondola at the end of the track. Looks like it may be used for loading scrap steel. Coincidentally, I stopped by that overlook about 4 pm on the 27th.
The gondola is in storage and sat inside the customer’s building for over a decade. It is in no shape to be used in any service unless it gets rebuilt.
I saw the cars this morning when going under the bridge. 2 questions: 1) do they have a rail scale on the siding going to the scale house? 2) is the siding only accessible from the north (not a run through siding, but a dead-end siding)?
Congratulations. I saw your unloading system - looks simple. Where did the stone come from? Is it speciality stone or just two sizes of random crushed stone?
So nice to see rails being restored instead of torn up for the stupid rail trails.
Trails only benefit a select few where as rails benefit everyone!
I love trains as much as the next guy but trails benefit a ton of people, your claim is ridiculous
@@fhowland they benefit hobos for sure lol
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
Always good to see new/restored traffic and customers return to the railway.
Thanks for watching!
Great to see a lot of railroad sidings, lines restored and everything back to life!
Thanks for watching!
Great to see this project coming to fruition 😊
It was great to see the work start to finish while being able to document it
I was going to ask you, how do they intend to unload those cars........then I seen the end. That's great, hope this business grows.

Thanks for watching! I believe MC/MassDOT working on the Industrial Rail Access Program is what pushed Gallo to start using rail.
Good to see!

😂😂😂 “we want trucks off the road “ “we don’t want train line “Ffs 🙄
Fools!
Typical short sighted people
I think this project went through without any major complaining as there was already a business operating here
nice

Was this siding always a dead end (like now) or did it reconnect with the main line originally at both ends?
It was always a dead end

There is no rail scale and only one switch on the (railroad) south end.
How are they going to unload the cars?
They will use the pit and conveyer shown at the end of the video.

How do they unload? The dock inside the building still isn’t used I’m assuming?
I took a drive through there this morning, they have an unloading pit under the rails with a conveyor in it for their sand and stone piles
Yes, they have a pit and conveyer as shown in the slideshow at the end of the video
The same cars as the trash train?
No, these are CSX hoppers
So where do they dump them out West?
They will unload those hoppers right on the siding
CSX Might Buy Mass costal.
