when you think of all the "fallen flags" that have passed over the decades into oblivion, the one that keeps popping back up on old and new equipment is the McGinnis New Haven... thank you for posting the Falmouth line.
Camp Edwards had a large system of warehouses, attached to a railyard, that would have been perfect for shipping.... anything. Easily 40 rail cars could have fit there. Along with the possibility of having nearly all the trash from the 5 surrounding towns taken from there too.
It really is a fantastic story, it’s so great to see a line that would’ve gotten the axe in the early 2010s come back and get revived better than ever. Who knows what will happen next, perhaps with regional rail expansions we could see electrified passenger rail be established on the line in the coming decades
It was a tragic loss to have the Wood's Hole Branch cut back from it's Terminus in the short sighted sixties when rail was frowned upon as obsolete, but the loss of the line to central Falmouth and in it's place a bus Terminal was added insult to injury. I'm actually not opposed to the bike/trail, but NEXT to the tracks, not in it's place. Also, does the line see seldom miliatry shipments?

I'd love to see the train keep running.

Now you're saying something!

Great news!
Is that radio crossing activation or is it just activation confirmation? Are there other crossings like this?
Radio activation. There are several crossings like this on Mass Coastal.
It's been eight decades since you new englanders had that club society The Dude. Your ride to Martha's vineyard.
It was in Trains Magazine a number years ago.
