I asked about this in your livestream, and it was the first time I've heard "permission" to just avoid the posture if it can't be comfortable for my body. Your style of encouragement makes me feel accepted and valid, and a lot of the time it is HARD as someone in a big body to feel those things so clearly and genuinely. Thank you for sharing all that you do, and for giving us a truly safe space to exist and grow.

Hello basimah728, thank you for that question - you inspired this video! :) I think it's very important to feel valid and accepted and I'm very glad to know that you feel that here. Please keep your questions coming! :)

Thank you so much for this, it has always frustrated me that Child’s Pose is used in many videos as a rest, but for me the pose is not restful. I appreciate your modifications and the permission to skip the pose if it’s not right for you.

Hmm. I have been watching many videos about this, how to do this pose, because I can't do the pose. I have come to realize that IF I CAN'T DO IT, I should not force myself into it. It's a very difficult pose, I'm risking hurting my back, knees and arms. You are right: if you can't do it with out extreme effort, just move on and find other alternatives.
Thank you for being the ONLY ONE acknowledging that it is such a difficult posture, and if it is too difficult for you, just skip it.

Thank you for this, Zelinda. I've tried multiple different ways to adapt to child's pose without success. I'm glad to know I'm not alone 💜

This video is the reassurance/permission I and WE needed to just enjoy yoga practice without trying to do something that perhaps is not suitable or HELPFUL. THANK YOU!!!!

You're welcome! I think we all need to hear this a few times so it can really sink in. We're so programmed with "no pain, no gain" and it will take us a while to unlearn that. :)

I appreciate your kindness and compassion towards all bodies. My physical therapist assigned me child’s pose, and I’ve felt so demoralized trying to figure out how to make it work. Child’s pose seemed like such a basic exercise and it made me feel like my body is wrong. I will try some of your suggestions and see if they help.

Thank you for the video and the explanation. I certainly do not have all those yoga props to be able to do it and thank you for saying it's OK to skip it or do something else.

Gladi watched this video. I've always felt yoga was not suitable for my body type. Your videos inspire me to practice comfortably and more confidently 🌼🙏🏾

Thank you!!! I have a larger belly (PCOS) and have struggled with childs pose in yoga classes. This video was validating and the "no harm" makes SO much sense! Thanks a million!

Thank you for the reminder that we can modify or even skip poses that are too difficult or cause pain. My husband did some yoga with me this morning for the first time, and he had no idea how strenuous it can be.

Thanks so much for this. I love the idea of childs pose, it looks like such a beautiful hip and back stretch. But when i do it i end up with my whole body weighr pushing into my head on the floor and its so uncomfortable. I will def try these modifications.

Wow. Thank you for this! I always feel like I command negative attention around this pose. I have severe hip and back limitations and trying to do this causes me a lot if anxiety.

Ahimsa means no harm in very different ways, to others also, not only to our body

I unfortunately cannot lay flat on do any floor work as I have anakalosing spondylitis in the spine now n it's made me hunched over. I've got other atheritis's in my body, I would love to do yoga but can't find any help. If you can give advice or do a video I'd appreciate it ☺️🤗💖

Hello start again, welcome to my channel! I believe it's very important to find the right yoga practice for one's body. If it's not possible to get down on the floor, perhaps you can do just the standing part of the yoga practice, or you can do yoga practices sitting on a chair. Here are two chair yoga videos that you might enjoy.
