- Yoga child's pose (balasana) is considered a resting posture but sometimes hurts or feels uncomfortable for some bodies.
I made this video at the request of students who want some alternatives for traditional child's pose to help them relieve knee pain, neck/shoulder pain, hip pain and make room for larger bellies.
Here are 3 alternatives for making child's pose more comfortable and accessible if you have physical concerns like "bad knees" or are recovering from surgery or injury.

Thank you so much! I had always had issue with successfully completing child’s pose and it left me feeling silly since it’s a rest pose but knowing that the modification of doing it from a supine position is a valid modification is very helpful!!
