I love you walking down memory lane. That was very special. Thank you.
Hope you have alot more fun memories to share.❤
I'm new to quilting, I've sewn for 50 years, but have always been "afraid" to try quilting. Watching Jenny's video, I am amazed at how easy she makes it look. I have so much to learn, but after watching this tutorial, I'm ready to make an attempt to begin a small quilting project. Thank you, Jenny! You're awesome!!
Ahh, Jenny how sweet of you to share this dear memory! I had decided this week that I wanted to make baby doll quilts for my Three granddaughters. This is a lovely pattern and would be perfect! Thank you for sharing your sweet memories.
Oh Jenny this was wonderful. I went down memory lane with you. My dad's mother passed away when he was young so a friend of the family stepped up to be my dad's 'mom' for the rest of his life and was also my 'grandmother' and 'great-grandmother' to my children. Grandma Brown made hand-sewn quilts for all three of my children when they were young and I still have them. Special, cherished memories...Thank you Jenny
I just love, love, love stars. I have so many charm packs. Oh! And, a layer cake. A layer cake would be perfect. Thanks Jenny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jenny, your enthusiasm is catchy! Love that you remade your childhood blanket!
Those HST trimmers are THE BOMB. Holy moly, saves so much time!
Where were you when I was making my VARIABLE STAR quilt ( same block pattern) ? You put these blocks together so much quicker and with a lot less problems ... Per your usual you took the complex and made it easy to understand.
Jenny oh my goodness , I loved dolls growing up I could play for hours, I so love this tutorial thanks for sharing your talent and heart with us . Thanks to all your family too lets not forget them !
Just love this. When a quilt is treasured for years. And I'm glad it looks loved.
What a fabulous achievable little quilt. Thank you Jenny. It was lovely to see you again xx
I have a patchwork pillow that my sister’s boyfriend’s mother made for me in the late 60s. I cherish it! This was a great video Jenny, love your little doll quilt and the adapted pattern for us to make.
This quilt is cuter than a bug's ear! I'm going to have fun making these, I have a TON of spare charm packs. Thanks for a great tutorial, Jenny!
Have fun sewing, Joyce!
Love your doll quilt!❤️ You are always an inspiration to me, Jenny! My grandmother taught me to quilt when I was very young and your personality is so very much like hers❤️
❤❤ love this idea. I love giving quilts as wedding gifts. Great use for the left over scraps to make the first baby quilt. This way it matches mom and dad's quilt. 5" charm done in the fast 4 = 3" HST, I didn't know that. 😀
Thanks Jenny for sharing your precious doll quilt with us! I got the pattern and I’m going to make one as close to yours as I can! I just love it! I’m making some for my grand nieces for Christmas! Love you Jenny! You’re the sweetest person! 💕
Thank you Jenny! Love memories as well,, have my Mother's christening dress NOT "tissued" but in my drawers,,, have washed it like any laundry and just love knowing that i have it! I too save EVERY scrap until the quilt is finished,,, MANY quilts have " creative piecing" to be complete. I can't tell you how many of your BLOCK patterns have been re-engineered for lack of enought fabric:)) Love you GF.. Hugs, GrammaBabs
i have 2 great grand daughters that will soon be the age to play with dolls i think im going to make one for each of them thanks Jenny for a great tutorial that the little ones can enjoy too!
I am in love with this quilt. I am making this for my Granddaughter Mary who loves Dolls. Thanks for being such a good sharer.
What a lovely memory of your happy childhood.
What a sweet project. And I love love love the history in it's inspiration! Thank you for sharing yourself with us!
Loving the doll quilt Jenny. Thank you. Your a 🌟
I love the way you try to use all the fabric. Quilting is expensive enough without being wasteful with the supplies. I have a quilt that my grandmother made for me that has pieces of fabric from my clothes so this is how I was taught to piece.
Adorable. And you made it easy and achievable, as Jenny does best. Thanks!
Awwww, this is so precious....totally worth the "work" of squaring up the smaller HST blocks!
Thank you for sharing such a personal piece of patchwork. I love the fabric you chose for the remake!
What a precious quilt and a sweet memory. Thank you for showing your chain stitching!! I always get so confused when I chain sew. I end up having to lay them out again. But I love how quick it is if I could just master what needs to be sewn together next!
I love your walk down memory lane! ❤️That's a real cute quilt, it would be fun if you're making a quilt for a little girl to make a doll quilt that matches hers so when she has a baby doll she can wrap it up in a matching quilt. 💖
Precious and fun! I hope you have your original doll blanket framed and protected; what a treasure
I really love this pattern. I think it would be great as a larger quilt. I just need to go through my stash and see what works for me. I may use layer cake square to make the stars bigger. Thanks Jenny for the tutorial.
That sounds like a fun project, Anne! We look forward to seeing your creation!
I'd love to do this for one of my granddaughters who absolutely loves playing with all her dolls. You made it look so easy, however, I'll have to watch it a few times because I sort of 'got lost' in the instructions. Thanks for this tutorial. It surely is an inspiration!
So cute to see the old tattered quilts we cherish , come to new life. When u showed us how to do the stockings, I searched thrift stores to find tattered quilts just for that project..Still searching...for more.
You are a very good 'sharer'! Thank you for sharing your love of quilting. Such a sweet walk down memory lane. I have a 100% handmade quilt in need of repairs because it has been loved by the family. Would love to see ideas on how to "rescue" a quilt. As always, thank you for sharing. =)
How adorable. I will make one of these for my youngest granddaughter for Christmas.
I have my grandma's quilt she made. It has all her pants she wore and shirts. It has been well used, and I feel bad, because it's worn worse than your little doll quilt. She did rows of diamonds. I loved that quilt, because it kept me so warm on those cold nights. I took it camping with me too. It was also a tied quilt. I miss my grandma.
Hi Jenny - your block reminds me of the terracotta floor tiles in the hallway of my grandmother 's victorian house. As a child I remember tracing the pattern and colouring it in,
So lovely to see your “loved” quilt!
Perfect timing! For my daughters 1st bday I am making her a little quilt and her doll a matching quilt! Her bday is in November so I’ll have plenty of time! Love this fabric line too!!! It might seem early to already be making her a matching quilt with her doll on her first bday but I have 3 boys and can finnnnnnnalllly make all the girly things I have always wanted too!!! 💕
That will be absolutely darling! We hope you enjoy sewing up both of these quilts that are sure to be treasured for ages! Feel free to share them with us on Facebook or Instagram using #msqcshowandtell! We can't wait to see what you create!
I have a doll quilt too’ Made by my neighbor Mrs. Brown. Mr. Brown made me a doll cradle and Mrs. Brown made all the doll bedding-pillow, sheet, blanket, and the quilt. I gave everything but the quilt back to her youngest daughter who. bequeathed it to her granddaughter! ❤️
Love, Love this tutorial! Such a charming way to honor your doll quilt!
I need to come to your stores again! I LOVE, LOVE, your tutorials. My family is from your area. I have my mom's ashes that I want to spread on to Lick Creek, near Lick Fork Cemetery (where Townsend's are buried), and also Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge. I LOVE how thrifty you are. I did the same today, actually. My block was short, so I just sewed an additional length to make it square. Don't know how it got so wonky, but it did.
I loved this video! I especially loved you sharing your old doll quilt and the thrift side of quilting! This was a truly special one!
We are so glad you enjoyed this video! Thanks for the sweet comment! :)
Thanks for the pattern. I think I'll make this for my niece and her doll. Great tutorial!
I have a quilt that I had as a little girl. It looks like yours.
As always you make your blocks easy to make. Thank you.
Awesome block and fantastic ruler ✔️ Thanks for sharing
The sewing technique on piecing the blocks is ingenious!
Really cute, and love you kept and treasured your one from when you were a child😊
What a lovely little blanket! Great for preemies, too...
Thank you for the inspirations, I just made my niece a little quilt for her (crib size) and another one for her doll
Thank you for sharing Jenny. I love it.
Adorable project from our adorable Jenny! :-)
Omgosh I love how u squared them still folded!! That would make my life soooooo much easier!! Now I need a triangle ruler!
Audrey Burris. They have the SPECIAL RULER to square up HST of all sizes called
Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers
by Kari Carr for New Leaf Stitches
And its available at MSQC (if out of stock put it on your wish list so they can notify you when it comes in!) LOVE mine!
I like this ruler also When I try to square up with them pressed open my square ruler slides off the "hump" of the seam and everything gets wonky.
Love your quilt, Jenny. I had to laugh because I remember making a little seam on one of my quilts. What's funny now is I don't even know which quilt and once it was quilted it just faded into the background. You just, "make it work". PamC
Wow I got tears in my eyes during this one. Wish I had kept worn out quilts I had.
Olá Jenny mais uma vez nos prendou (de prenda) com um trabalho maravilhoso adorei, parabéns e muito obrigada por partilhar!
So cute! Thank you for simplifying this pattern. I am anxious to make one.
I love this little quilt. I've had to sew a few small pieces together when I was running out of fabric as well. You have to really hunt to find it. I'm probably the only one that would notice. Thanks for sharing the quilt and background story. It was great.
I look forward to seeing you in Waco, TX in October. I live about an hour and a half away but I've already got my ticket. Yea!
We look forward to seeing you in Waco, Denise! :)
How cute is this?! Its like a mini Hunter's Star Quilt block with various colors! ;) This would go perfect on top of my American Girl doll's bed.
Oh my goodness so cute and very simple. Love it.
I love your projects! They all work with my brain!!!!
How very precious! 💗 I adore this so much!! 💕🌸
What a cute project! Thanks for another great tutorial!!!
Would love one of these irons! Coming to Hamilton in October, so I could pick it up then!
love, love, love this!!
Hi Jenny and thanks a lot for another great tutorial. It’s very beautiful, I love the design and the colors. 😎🌸
Thank you for this tutorial. You make it look so easy. I will definitely be trying this one.
Love this! So very sweet!
Oh my! Just when you think you couldn't possibly love Jenny more.... Then she goes and makes a tutorial that pulls on your heart strings. Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories with us. My step daughter will have her 2nd baby in September. She's having a girl! Can't wait to make her some baby blankets to drag around and love to death!
Thanks Jenny. So cute.
That Doll quilt would make a good cushion cover too -
thank you sooooo much for sharing!! Brenda in N Texas
I love the story behind the tutorial. I will have to try this block.
Espectacular todo lo que enseña,gracias!!!
Just beautiful thank you so much for sharing
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing so much info. I love your videos so much!
I also like the tip about sewing fabric together to make a big enough piece. I hate to see any fabric go to waste. You gotta save money for more fabric.
THanks so much for sharing this video! Going to make one for my grand daughter asap!
Thank you very much! 🌸🌸
I love this memory
Love this.. beautiful 💕
Whooot??!! Where is the duck who says "quack". It is the best part of intro. Me and my husband quacks with it every time :D
Just in time for the Christmas Quilts I will be making!
I love this thank you so much
It's funny you mentioned sewing smaller pieces together to get the size piece of fabric that you need. I'm doing that as we speak. I didn't want to buy another 1/4 yard of fabric just for (3) 6.5" blocks so I scabbed all the ends together left over from cutting my 6.5" strips 😁
I have 2 small granddaughter's- gonna make a few doll quilt squares !
So cute! Thank you.
Love it!
You are brilliant
I have three of my grandmothers quilts, and one of my great grandmother's quilt. I am 70 am have started to recreate them for my granddaughter. My daughter has almost throw the old ones away a couple of times they are in bad shape. I am printing labels that tell their story. So the family history will be on the back of each quilt.
You are AMAZING!!!!
Very cute and easy....Did you have somewhere to go......you seem in a hurry tonight...lol.Thanks Jenny as always....you make my Thursday night..
I enjoyed this video, I think I will give this a try.
Jenny I Love 💕 your pattern I would like to make for my Grand daughters 🌹
I love those old quilts! You can tell by the wear that they were loved! Is there a "good" way to repair the worn spots?
Now on my to do list. X
Jenny you are great.....❣
Sew cute! ❤️
Hermosos proyectos
Adorable
I have a quilt that my grandmother made with pieces sewn together to make a bigger piece
