I love Jenny, her family and these tutorials! The older i get, the more complicated reading quilting directions become (is it just me??) so to find this video to explain the written instructions from the Quilter’s 2.5” strip precut companion book is REALLY helpful! Thank you again!
I have been quilting for 30+ years and never miss one of your videos. This is a cute, fun quilt. You’re quite inspirational and you just ‘invite us right in to have a cup of tea and learn how to quilt. Jenny, you are so warm, friendly, gracious and have such a God given natural ability to have those of us out here believe that we can do anything. I am a retired nurse after working in my career for 53 years. Tho challenging, I love being a registered nurse. At one time I worked in a family practice for 9 years until the physician worked for moved down south. Through my nursing eyes, I ‘see’ you are an integral part of the healing process. I so appreciate all of what you, your family, and staff do for so many people. For many years I taught quilting for free in local areas, churches, libraries, homes. I saw peoples’ lives changed quite a few times. To think how many people your smile and the entire Missouri Quilting Co. helps so many people who (I know from experience) need help. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks for joining us, Quilt Gram, and especially for sharing some of your story. If there's one thing you definitely know, it's the healing process! Jenny loves to be a part of bringing a smile and a creative spark to everyone around her, too. Hope you continue to heal the lives of those around you, too!
I love all star blocks, Jenny, I guess because they talk to my patriotism as a Vietnam Veteran's wife, an advocate for all veterans, a Quilt of Valor maker and presenter, and a citizen in this GREAT country of ours. . The Studio Star
is outstanding - one of my favorites! Thanks again for making quilting fun and understandable again :-)
Jenny , I think I'm the one that gets turned around so easy. You have taught me all I know about quilting. I can see how you do it and that helps me tremendously! Thank you so much!!
Jenny thanks for bring my love of sewing back to me since Ibroke my back.
Watching your videos everynite gave me such joy ,that I have been creating and sewing again . You are the best. Karenmarie
Jenny , I love that you go step by step and demonstrate each step so we can see the process AND the bigger picture . You're a wonderful teacher !🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹♥️🤗🤗
I have never quilted but love to sew,I think I will give this a try.I love watching Jenny from Missouri Starr she explains it all so well
Hi Jenny I believed in my heart that I was able to sew quilts I have been sewing for years until I start watching you a few years ago in had to be taught all over again never too old to learn
This is my absolute favorite tutorial because it takes a pattern that appears to be so complex and makes it super easy! Plus, this block is very versatile in the colors. Love, love, love it!
This I believe is my favorite. The "Studio Star", absolutely stunning. Thank you Ms. Jenny Doan, who started my inspiration for bringing classic quilting to modern day. If it weren't for Ms. Jenny, I don't know where I would be today. The therapy that quilting has helped me with is absolutely unbelievable. I still will begin to feel a break down coming and I can turn on Ms. Jenny. via UA-cam or through my Craftsy classes. She gets me motivated, my mind goes in the opposite direction, and I am able to walk away with a smile, and another Ms. Jenny inspired quilt. Thank You Ms. Jenny Doan for everything you have helped me through since early 2014.

I’ve learned so much and gotten so excited when I see something I want to do. You make it look so easy. Thank you!
Nancy
Jenny, I have to tell you that you have made me believe I can quilt. Your tutorials gave the courage to explore my creativity. I am a hospice nurse that become ill after a neuro-toxin exposure (fish poisoning) while visiting the Caribbean. Now I am disabled because of it and felt quite useless. Learning how to quilt from your tutorials has allowed me to contribute to the family in making gifts. Thank you. I can't go a single day without checking your site and store. Its my treat!
Such a sad story, I am so glad that you feel you can contribute to you family after such an illness, I am sure that they love and appreciate you quilts. Blessings.
What a beautiful story. I had a stroke and I had some of the same feelings that you had. I love watching her tutorials. She has a way of lifting my spirits and she breaks down the instructions so nicely. I'm glad you are doing well.
Having a hobby which allows you to escape your pain and limit your disability is extremely helpful to recovery, even if it is not complete. I have had several joint surgeries and quilting allowed me to focus on something pleasurable. Hope that you are making progress in your search to recover your health.
I'm a nurse also and found quilting in all it's fazes to be very stress relieving. It is a life saver. Happy quilting
Sharon im glad you're enjoying this...Jenny helped me, too..its SO hard to become disabled!
It does t matter how many times I watch this, I can always watch it again. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I love the tiny prints in tiny squares. They do look old fashioned, like they came off your grandmother's bed. Should be fun ... Will save this one for sure.
Another great tutorial. I so admire you Jenny. Hope to meet you someday!
Hey, Jenny, I love that your sewing machine is flush with the table. Somehow it makes the sewing look easier. Moving the iron to your left and the sewing machine to your right works really well, too. Just want to thank you for these great quilts and thanks to all the people who make your tutorials look so professional. They are doing a great job!
Thank you so much!
I thought we could use this beginning to start log cabins! Thank you😍 Jenny! I watch these over and over!
So glad you did the Sister's Choice block! I bought the Palm Court jelly roll from MSQC last year to make a Sister's Choice quilt for my sister and then realized I was going to have trouble with the half-square triangles. Never occurred to me to snowball the corners of a rectangle. I bought a charm pack to make them with and would have had a lot of waste! Now, I can use the charm pack for something else and make the quilt as planned. Thanks!
I love how you simplify quilt blocks and make them so easy with precuts and they look SO COMPLICATED!! (gotta love that !) Thank you so much for all you do for us!
Love this! I saw a 9-patch, 8 HST's and 8 squares, when I looked at it. Interesting make up. You ROCK, Jenny!
I think I will tackle that with one color and background, maybe bordering each block....thank you Jenny for all the great ideas...
Hi Jenny, While making this top, I sewed another line on the triangles making them smaller though, but made the perfect border for a baby quilt..scrappy look. loved it. Thank you Jenny for all your tutorials, no matter when you recorded them. God bless you.
BLESS YOU! I was looking at a pattern from another site for this block, and thought "OMG, this is so tedious, why did I pick this?!" then found this tutorial. Thank you for making sense out of the madness!
You r a teacher jenny i love what u r teaching its wonderful😊
Hello Mrs Jenny ! You gave me the inspiration to try cool team again after 20 years I enjoy your tutorials. Stay safe
After using your videos for all these years, this might just be my favorite - favorite! Making it in green as the main color than contrast second color. Funny thing the ironing tip was awesome...thank you so much!!!!!!
Oh Jenny, the moment I laid my eyes on this quilt , I fell in love with it and you are right it looks just fab with the vintage fabrics they are such fun looking prints and speaking of that I recieved my order for my bright solid sunny strips and 10' layer cake of I believe it is called summer in the park # 2. I was so pretty and vibrant it knocked my socks off just a gorgeous pairing there, can't wait to start sewing on it.
This is the next quilt on my to do list. Jenny you're amazing, you take a old difficult block and make it simple. Love all of your tutorial's.
