Normal charging is correct as you mentioned 6 amps and reduces and maintain battery voltage to 14.4
But for cranking a starter motor takes way to high amps, I have personally checked with fluke clamp meter, it takes near 75 amps and sometimes it takes near 115 amps in load conditions.means if you are on low gear, it may go beyond 100 amps, for about a second or more until engine starts.
Total output watts of that magneto produces near to 192 watts( 12 ×16 amps), maximum can go at 215 watts, Rectifier is rated at 16 amps.
Inline battery fuse is rated at 15 amps I guess for classic, since it uses 55/60watts bulb.
My Thunderbird uses 35 wats bulb so battery fuse is rated at 10amps, I have upgraded my bulb to 55/60philips extreme vision (800rs for the bulb) too good in illumination.
But I did some heavy duty 6 port relay wiring kit additional to activate high/low beams with inline separate 10amps fuse for safety of the stick wiring kit since it rated at 35 watts
