It is really the #1 reason I will probably never part with it. A few new little boxes coming out like the M8 but I am not a tracker kinda guy. I am a sampling junkie, house head.

Hey bro, I know the Akai Force update just came out, but I am torn between the 1010 Blackbox for my production device, as I've got pocket operators, korg sq-1, keystep, launchpad mini, and mpd218 drum pad, i been using my iPad, but would love to switch when I've got enough money. What would you recommend? Great video and explaination on the new update! I do have a batter back up as well.
It really depends on what you think you are specifically wanting/missing in your current setup. For me, the Blackbox is all about portability. My son was in the hospital for 2 months when he was born last year and I had it with me during all those long days and I cranked out a TON of sketches. And a good chunk of those became full finished tracks. Also consider that the BB is a sampler only. My limited knowledge of the Force it looks very powerful and plays well with Ableton if you are an Ableton user. I already have a Push 2 so it wasn’t a void in my setup there or for something really portable. Watch my video on the Blackbox travel setup if you haven’t already to see what I am talking about. Hope this helps a little and let me know if you have any additional questions.
Hello! :) Thanks for the video! I have a question about this device and would appreciate it a lot if you can answer those..! Does it have a midi CC list so that you can assign other buttons from external gear to trigger functions in blackbox like record, play, and seqeuncer etc?
It sure does. That was part of one new major updates that I did not cover in detail in this video.

@@_justin_joe Thanks for your answer! :) Cause I want to use this as live sampler, I was wondering if I can record, play the recorded sample live using sequencer! That's why I wanted to assign those fuctions to different midi controller for more convenience.

I have not tried multiple stylus but the ones I have tried work good. Except for the piano roll I have not felt the need for a stylus
I have one but I am still lost among all the functions and menues! Not easy to understand but it is a great machine.
I wonder if some of these features will be implemented in the Eurorack version.
If I had to guess I would say yes!
Thats a thing, i think i read that the bitbox hardware/processor is limited so they can't give it all the features, for example the sequencer. For example the blackbox can record cv, the bitbox not as far as i know. Though i want to use it with eurorack i am thinking about getting the blackbox because i would love to have the sequencer as a drum machine. Would be perfect if the bitbox had all the features of the blackbox but i am afraid that wont happen.
Hello, I am interested in buying a Black Box Sampler Studio. Before that, I would like to know the maximum number of seconds I can upload a pre-made sample from Ableton. I want to include this machine in my live setup to play backing tracks of complete songs (5 minutes or more) and additionally play other live machines I have. Do you think the Black Box would work for this purpose? Is it possible for the sample track I upload to the Black Box to sync with my external Groove box and other machines? Thank you very much
Yes it would work like that. No real maximum time since the samples stream off the SD card
Hey does anyone know if this little beast can do sidechain compression?
Unfortunately not proper sidechaining at this time. You can however get the pumping effect though using the new LFO feature and assigning it to the track volume and syncing it to the BPM and setting to 1/4 note sync.

What controller do you use with it
I typically don’t use a controller at all, just the BB. But when I do, I use the OP-1 as a controller.
