eBike Stabilizers for Mobility Assistance

- Getting into the eBike (electric bicycle) scene has meant some modification for my wife who's had back surgery on two occasions. To make her ride comfortable and safe, I've added stabilizers to her bike. They act essentially just like training wheels on a bicycle affording my wife the ability, to not only learn how to handle a bicycle, but also the more difficult eBike. We plan to use these at least the campgrounds we visit, but also nature bike trails in unique areas across the country while we RV.

I enjoy it when a man takes great care of his wife. It should be no other way. Nice you care for her in all she does. Its honorable.
She is my world.
Useful, thanks from the otherside of the pond.
Thank you for this video! I recently got an ebike and thought maybe it would be a good idea to try to stabilize it a bit. I have these stabilizers on order now :-) I was glad to see them in action just to see what they look like. I'm a 47 yo male and don't really care what anyone thinks about my bike, my safety is far more important to me than someone's opinion of my bike. Thanks again!
Awesome. Happy biking Joseph!
Thanks Brent. We have the exact same bikes and I put the same stabilizers on my wife's bike and could not figure out how to get the top U-bolt on so had strapped it but then changed it when I say your video.
Awesome Lynn!
I want to thank you for your video. After seeing it I did find others but after watching your video I felt so much better about the purchase I had just made of an LECTRIC bike. I lovev it but I'm in my 70's and my balance is not as good as I thought so I realized I had to have something to balance the bike since they would not take it back because it had more than 1 mile on it??? Anyway, I so excited to get my training wheels, they come on Saturday and then I can finally RIDE! thank you!
Thanks for the kind words. I hope they work wonders for you so you can have great rides.
Hey,What brand and where did you find this product.
This is what I need.Thanks
I have these and they are brilliant as I have no balance.
Nice! Enjoy your bike.
Do you have any idea if these would help stabaize the bike in the snow. Michigan winters suck on a bike.
I doubt it. I'd go with a trike instead.
@@brentginastravelingadventures thanks for the tip bro. Was wondering if I could save a couple grand with a stabilizer
wondering if this would be stable enough to hold the bicycle upright when i step on the left pedal and throw my right leg over..? I'm having trouble with my hip flexors.. they are too tight.. and half the time, i go to put my leg over and catch my right foot on the seat. That is dangerous.. what are your thoughts. If the bike can't tip, i won't have problems getting on or off..
Don't buy these with your issue. They help, but not nearly enough. In fact, my wife needs somewhat level pavement even with these. She doesn't have balance. My wife and I have step-though bikes as you can likely see. There's no way she could lift her leg over the seat. Heck, it would be difficult for me stepping on the pedal. Instead, my wife uses the step through and does not touch the pedals before straddling the bike. Then, when her center of gravity is aligned with the bike, she can almost get onto the seat on her tippy-toes. My days of tossing my leg over is almost over myself. Best to you and surely find a way! Stay young if only in the mind.
Cool video! How did it work out?
These are no longer available on Amazon. Anyone found them somewhere else?
Geez, it figures with Amazon. There are possible options with a Google search, but I haven't tested them.
@@C3Voyage E bay has some of this brand
@@C3Voyagegoogle “diy training wheels” it can’t be that hard to make
What brand are the stabilizers? I have been looking for some. Thanks
No problem. Check the description for your answer.
Hi don't know if you get snow in your area but would these be good for snow and ice? Looking for something where I won't tip and fall so easily
I wouldn't try any kind of add on wheels unless you're riding on fairly level ground and it's a temporary type situation. My wife hasn't fallen with these, but I see she doesn't feel very secure with them. I drove on her bike to see for myself, again, and I'm now convinced we need to get her a trike. These were supposed to be temporary until she felt comfortable enough to take 'em off. Now, at 66, I can tell those days are over. She needs a trike. Course, I tell her that I'd feel more comfortable with her on a trike instead of telling her she can't continue to use this bike at her age. :O) So, the answer is no.
@@C3Voyage thanks! Yeah I am looking for 3 wheel or 4 wheel it isn't because i don't know how to balance it's because looking for something where I won't tip and fall off the side you know especially when making any turn when the roads are compacted snow or even icy I'd rather slide around with a trike or something rather falling off on a 2 wheeler bike
I am thinking that now you have 4 wheels & it is no longer legally a bicycle.
They have e-bike trikes. All of the states I've researched are related to speed and where permissible to ride with e-bikes. If you find policy, in some state that regulates based off of number of wheels, please share.
