Nice I have a tall pick up and use a motorcycle double wide ramp from Harbor Freight I put the bike totes on a flat furniture dolly and roll them right up and in, nice job
Just went to Wally World and bought 2 containers.I got home and was amazed at how easy and well it worked. My wife and I have been fighting the loading and unloading for years. Two tubs fit in the Bronco perfectly. Thanks
Super Thanx! I need to load into a pickup with tonneau cover, so it has to store with the wheels horizontal, not vericle like poster. I use the LID from a large bin, and lay the bike down horizontally on the BIN LID/Ramp, and then slide up like you do.. Works good. Went from maximum effort to LIFT that beast, to a simple slide. THANX!
Great idea! Dead lifting e-bikes is risky. As seniors are getting into e-biking, there are many opportunities for injury. Tips like this will help to insure many years of fun biking. Thanks for sharing your method of safe and easy loading!
Brilliant! Best Lectric bike transport video out there. We got our dog ramp on Amazon and a bin at Home Depot. We're ready to go without lifting!!! Thanks Paul and Paula!
We just bought a similar ramp for our aging dog to get into the camper. We store the bike inside the camper for transport. You gave us the idea to load the bike easier by using the dog ramp. Thanks!
Absolutely genius!! I have a folding fat tire e-bike and a pickup truck. The bungee cord to hold the bike together and the bin to keep it secure is awesome for me. I can load it in the bin and basically strap down the bin. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much for this very smart idea..😁👍🏻👍🏻 I’m buying my first folding e-bike and I was wondering how I was going to get it into my SUV…work smart, not harder..❤️ it, watching from Petawawa Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
As an old guy who has to load two folding ebikes, just two suggestions. You need a strap on that pet ramp to prevent it from sliding off your tail gate and second, use a pool noddle on the e-bike when you fold it to prevent wear.
Good ideas, but my ramp is designed not to slip and it has never done so while loading or unloading our e-bikes. Some folding ebikes might benefit from putting some sort of padding between their frame while folded, but ours have not shown any wear from traveling to over 25 trailheads. I believe keeping our folded handle bars outside the bin helps guard against any frame surface rubbing.
I opted for the Husky 45 gallon tote with wheels. Other videos highlight this. However, after watching this video I remember I had an old dog ramp in my storage. BRILLIANT. I load so I needed a good option to get it into the SUB. Ramp doesn’t take up much space at all and the Tote keeps everything neat and secure. It’s a bit awkward at first but what a great solution to a weighty problem.
are you able to fit it in the 45 gallon tote fully assembled? I saw someon use a 50 gallon Craftsman tote for the Lectric 3.0 they had it folded but fully assembled and could contain entire thing in totoe. It did stick out above. and they did remove the seat i believe to get it into the back of their SUV. And they could fit 2 of them side by side in the back of the SUV.
Yes, this works for every kind of folding bike. Pulling up the ramp works better for me rather than pushing, because I have bad knees. But both pulling or pushing are better than lifting.
Thanks for the great video! I use a similar method to load my Lectric. The only difference is that my bin has wheels & I roll it up the ramp into my SUV.
Ingenious! I have been searching for a bike ramp to use on my existing bike ramp and none of them are universal of course. This solves my problem, I don't even need my old bike rack. Your right, it will also be more secure inside the SUV. Thank you!
Thanks a million! I've been mulling over getting a folding e-bike for some time, but I couldn't see myself lifting a 70 pound bike into the back. Even if I were able to muster up the strength to do it, I know that the lift-and-lean required to put it in the SUV would destroy my back! Now I no longer have an excuse! (I'm looking at the Jasion X-Hunter, for the high-torque motor on our steep hills).
Great video! I would suggest, for myself, to push in lieu of pull. Pulling is a good way to injure intercostals and back. We don't want that while trying to stay fit! Thank you for the video! Well done.
I just watched this clip -- I'm 5 foot 2 inches tall, and I'm a 60 year old woman. There is No Way I could pull that contain up the ramp like he did, given his height and him being a man, having more body strength than I do. So, I would be at the bottom of the ramp, pushing the container up the ramp. He does have a good procedure there for getting a heavy item up into a SUV
@@StormyPeakthe ramp needs to be longer so it's not such a steep hill to push the bin up. Another guy said he uses bins with wheels built into them. Hmmm? Yet another says he uses those furniture movers with wheels and rolls it right on up and in. Just a piece of wood sticking up from the back edge of the mover. Best of luck! This has been a hurdle for many of us, I'm sure!

The cart, only being a few inches high could then just be stored to the side on end, along with the ramp and not take up a lot room. I just bought a Lectric XPremium and have been wondering how in the world I'm going to manage getting it in and out of the car. This is the answer! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for making this video. I’ve been wanting an e-bike, but refusing to get one due to the weight. I could do this. Plus, it will keep any dirty chain from getting my car messed up because it’s inside the bin. Now, to measure my X3 cargo area and hope it’s tall enough.
Paul you have solved my issues of loading bikes, containing them, and no lifting. Thank you for this solution. Many will be helped. I have the same bikes . I am unable to ride for another 6 weeks and even then won’t be able to to lift this bike. I can now transport 4 bikes in a Pacifica easiliy. No lifting . Thank you for sharing. Jay Venice, Fl
Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and usually a senior can’t find it. Thank you, thank you! Just unpacked my white Lectric 3.0 and was about to follow the manufacturers instructions to have it overlooked and tighten anything necessary. I was wondering how the heck to get it to the bike shop and now I know. 🤗

Thank you! my husband and I just got our new bikes and were wondering about a solution because they weight 68 pounds each!! this is a great idea... thank you so much!!
My son called yesterday for Thanksgiving wishes and another way for your no lift slider. When we go north put everything in bins slide them in the side doors and out when we get there. I have a Pacifica van and side doors are even lower. We usually use bins anyway but can load them heavy now. Always too heavy suitcases same thing. Great stuff. Of course now we’ll have to bring a jet ski back to have when they visit in the winter. Just keeps getting better. Happy Holidays.
Now there's a great idea 💡! I actually asked a few guys just yesterday how a retired senior is supposed to get an ebike into their car or truck. 65lbs, like the one he's demonstrating with, is a lightweight ebike. The one's I am looking at weigh 82 to up to 100 lbs! Most are over 75 lbs. CraZy heavy for a person over 65 to load! Way to solve a problem that seriously has prevented me from even buying one. I was thinking the only place I could ride it was departing on the ride from my home. Very limiting. This idea is a damn good one! Thanks! 😎🤘
Thanks for the video. We use a similar setup, but we have a wheeled tote that makes it a bit easier: Husky 45 Gal. Latch and Stack Tote with Wheels in Black with Red Lid. We bought ours at Home Depot for $50. Once folded, the Lectric XP 3.0 fits perfectly inside!
Hi guys. Don’t want to bore you with my issues but still haven’t been able to ride the new bike. Had set back and still no. Ops date . I told Lectric bikes they should watch your video on the no lift system after watching a young strong back demonstrating how light it was by pressing it like a weight lifter on their site. Most people would opt for your system over trying that any day. So keep up the great job with the videos through those I feel like I’m there too. Jay
@@Paul_Paula I gave you all the credit so maybe you’ll get big checks in the mail, you should. Kind of funny discussion over the holiday with friends who bought non folding bikes. They have over $8k in the two bikes rack cover etc. Class 1 only no throttle to help to get going . The wife hates her bike and just wanted a little bike like my wife’s 20” Ancheer fold up @ $650 from Amazon. My wife loves it and won’t let me get her anything else and has had nothing other than tires wearing quickly go wrong with it. We could by 6 Lectrics and have 5 in reserve for that kind of dough. Very entertaining out here.
Thanks for watching. A Lectric e-bike is well engineered and rugged, but is on the heavy side. Hope, I gave you some ideas on how to solve the weight problem in loading it in a vehicle.

I do have a ramp & Im gonna get a 45g husky bin with wheels. I only have a car trunk, but if the lid won't close all the way i can bungee the lid down.
Hey guys I’m finally riding again and love it . Can’t get enough time in the saddle. Can’t wait to travel later this week to do some of the legacy trail. Trying not to overdo but hard not to. Finally have an ops date of 1/19/2023 so gotta get in shape for that and bike time will certainly help. Thanks for your kind encouragement and Merry Christmas. Jay
Perfect! Husband keeps trying to sell me on getting a carrier for the outside of the vehicle. I don't see how that helps with the weight of the bike. I love your idea.
I use a similar method for my tandem and stretch bikes. I have a 8 ft cargo bed on my pickup truck and the pickup truck tailgate is rather high. I use a folding 3 piece cargo ramp to load and unload my heavy long bikes. This ramp will definitely save one's back in the long run.
Clever idea, but I have another suggestion. Buy totes with wheels. Put something protective over the rear bumper, like an piece of carpeting, then just lift the wheeled end of the tote to the bumper... Happy travels!
I found that the wheeled totes were too big for my SUV when taking two of our bikes. Plus, you are still having to lift the bikes doing it the way you described.
Happy Thanksgiving Paul and Paula your video has made my upcoming holiday fantastic. Got all the pieces giving it all the test over the next few days and your video has made it possible for us and believe me so many others. I hope you don’t mind but I have sent your link to everyone I know with elective bikes. But this no lift idea can be made to load anything you can contain and slide up the ramp. Thanks again for sharing this simple and brilliant idea. Funny side note friends who have the larger super expensive bikes are trying to figure a way to do this, good luck to them.
Thanks again, Jay. I am glad you like working smarter, rather than harder. The ramp sure does save us from lifting the full weight of the bikes. Blessings on your Thanksgiving.
The label came off my dog ramp, but this company name is stamped on it “Solvit Pet Ramps”. I bought it about 5 years ago on Amazon and my exact model is not listed there any longer, but similar ones are on Amazon. Plus, if you google Solvit Dog Ramps, you can find that company’s website and other companies selling these dog ramps. Thanks for watching the video.
Glad you got something from the video, Bill. We traveled to Cades Cove, TN yesterday with our 2 e-bikes and loaded and unloaded them in my SUV without lifting them.
Thank you for sharing your creative technique. I am interested in purchasing a folding bike like yours but my cars hatch is smaller than normal. How tall is the bike in the box when you put it in the back of your SUV?
Thank you. I'm shopping for an ebike and have considered the Lectric 3.0 just for the ease of putting in my Outback. I was thinking of a dog ramp too. I have a crappy back and really need to be kind to it if I'm to get any enjoyment in my old age. As to the Lectric, I'm hesitant as I have put a 750 watt minimum in my search. I've got some hills to contend with.
You are welcome Steve, glad you found this helpful. I am 75 years old, 6’ at 205 lbs and the 2.0 Lectric gets me up the hills with no problems. Plus, with a bad knee, I do throttle only with no peddling. The new and more powerful 3.0 Lectric should do even better on the hills. I used to lift my bikes into my SUV, but threw my back out, now I have solved that problem with the dog ramp and sliding the bins into my vehicle. Thanks for watching our videos.

Good to hear, that your operation is behind you.
Good riding weather coming up… keep enjoying.
Thanks for the simple solution to a "weighty problem."
You are welcome, well put… ‘a weighty problem solved’.
Excellent! Thank you.
What a great idea! Thanks very much.
Glad you found it helpful.
I do it like that minus the dog ramp. I also remove the battery to make it a little lighter. The ramp would make it even easier. Thanks for posting.
Hi John, glad you watched this video, the ramp does make it easier.
You know this all seems like common sense but there are many folks out there that are a bit short on common sense so for that I say good job!
That was awesome and a very great idea.
Thanks so much, glad you got something from my video.
I just got my bike and it’s heavy. Thanks for the tip.
You are welcome, glad you found the video helpful.
You sir are a genius. Thank you!
Glad you liked that video, it really saves the heavy lifting. Thanks for watching, Paula.
Outstanding. Many thanks.
Glad you found my video helpful. Thanks for your encouraging words.
I do have a ramp & Im gonna get a 45g husky bin with wheels. I only have a car trunk, but if the lid won't close all the way i can bungee the lid down.
Well done sir!!! Great idea!!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Sir! You're a genius!
Thanks for the compliment, it really makes loading and unloading so much easier.
Brilliant idea!
Thanks Steve, glad you got something from this video.
Great idea! Thanks!
We just got our bikes. I went searching figuring someone had for hired out how to load without the heavy lifting. Thanks for the excellent video.
You are welcome, so glad you found this video helpful, now enjoy your new e-bikes.
👏👏👏Simply BRILLIANT👍 Thanks for the upload🤓
Thanks, it sure makes loading and unloading easier.
Great idea. Thanks. Good video.
You are welcome, thanks for watching. It really is a better way to load heavy bikes.
Thank you so much for sharing this!

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.

Jay
Good to hear, Jay. We hope you will have a great Christmas at your end.
So smart, thanks for the video
You are welcome, glad you got something from that video. It really is an easier way!
What a great idea. Thanks!
Glad, you got something from the video.
Thank you for sharing! Very useful how to video. Much appreciated.
Hi Lawrence, thanks for watching my video, glad to hear you found it helpful.
Perfect! Husband keeps trying to sell me on getting a carrier for the outside of the vehicle. I don't see how that helps with the weight of the bike. I love your idea.
Good to hear Jess, thanks for watching my video… glad you liked this way of transporting the bikes… it really works well.
Sweet; I’m so glad I found this! Hope it works somehow with a trike though! Thanks!
You are welcome, we hope it does work with the new trike.
Sounds good, great.
@@roxannegordon6162 It saves my back because I don’t have to bend over and lift a 65 pound bike the height of my SUV’s bed.
👍 👍
Thanks 4 sharing
That was great advice and helpful. I ordered the lectric bike last week and now your vid was helpful in loading and unloading the bike, Thank you.
Ray
Clever idea, but I have another suggestion. Buy totes with wheels. Put something protective over the rear bumper, like an piece of carpeting, then just lift the wheeled end of the tote to the bumper... Happy travels!
I found that the wheeled totes were too big for my SUV when taking two of our bikes. Plus, you are still having to lift the bikes doing it the way you described.
What a great idea! I have been using the ramp but not folding the bike. I will have to try this. Thank you.
Wonderful, glad you liked this idea.
Great video. Thank you for sharing your very helpful information!!
You are welcome, Rima. Glad you found it helpful.
What brand of ramp are you using? Where did you purchase the ramp? Like th sliding ramp vs a folding ramp.
Thanks great advice
Glad you liked it.
Awesome job! Thanks
Hi Richard,
It measures 33 inches in height with the handlebars folded down and the seat lowered. Glad you found the video helpful.
An update. I now own two Lectric XP 3.0's. One for me and one for my wife. Plenty of power. Oh, and the back is fine now...for the time being.
Thanks for a great video!!!!
You are welcome, glad you liked it.
Good video old guys have trouble lifting heavy bikes onto a rack. Or you can buy a new self loading rack from Saris.
It has auto lift ...Myself, I bought a lightweight hybrid e bike under 38 pounds, Thanks for the tip ...Old guys rule!
Thanks, for watching and commenting.
Well done! 💪🏻👍🏼
Thanks… glad you liked it.
Good thinking ❤
