So I know rogues are *technically* meant to be stealthy and sneaky, BUT sneak attack can trigger so long as there's one member being loud and proud up in the bosses' faces (advantage not needed in that case, meaning you needn't pop invis so often). This means you could run a rogue with the medium/heavy armour feat and pump CON & possible STR instead of DEX so that they're tanky. Or stick to DEX + CON and run one of the medium armours that don't impose disadvantage on stealth, cos there are a good few! Kinda reminds me of an old anecdote I read of someone's D&D character, a tanky half-orc rogue with pumped up Intimidation and strength, so there'd be no witnesses, and those that saw him dared not to speak up.
If you have issues with making potions, supposedly you can hire a character from Withers and respec them to basically be an alchemist and make potions with them
Just to note though, the risky ring disadvantage isn't just death rolls, its all saving throws which include mind control spells like charmed or frightened and spells that require you to make a saving throw like Hold Person or Hypnotic Patten. Its a good ring if you can keep yourself unseen from enemy casters but otherwise it's a big risk. Guess that's why they call it the Risky Ring.
@@thejury94 with the AT: stand next to avatar, use blurr, so he tries to attack. Preferably a half elf so you can have shields. Phalar/rapier Have one thief apply no heal arrows, bonus action attacks, and stealth. 2hxb sharpshooter Have another thief apply darkness, bonus action attacks, and stealth. 2hxb sharpshooter Have an assassin (astarion) with titanstring and the strength club, sharpshooter. The reason for the longbow is the limited availability of good hxb🤷♂️.
Darkness arrows on avatar of murky are very effective. I use the heck out of them on my honor mode runs. You inspired me to try this on an honor mode run!
Maybe med armour proficiency/ sentinel feats (sentinel should proc sneak attack) with a shield pump there ac and have them tank while everyone else get does pot shots with perm advantage, the AI I’ve found love attacking low AC characters over high AC but with stealth shouldn’t be to much of an issue or at the very least you get a few opportunity attacks with them trying to reposition.
Great video, 😂 that rat fukn killing you though omfg hilarious. Also you might know this, but there’s a good vendor for rogue armour in act 3 at the Tribunal definitely recommend getting the gear of him before killing everyone there, or not killing them XD
You actually can make yugier die without failing Astarion’s deal failing by talking to him (matter of fact astarion likes that more once he realizes it counted)
Absolutely. Especially if you can stack various forms of bonus damage. I would recommend using coatings and dipping your weapon in fire (carry a candle with you, drop it on the ground, and voila unlimited dipping possibilities)
It's funny to be that while Rogue and Fighter are staples in most martial multiclass builds for their core class and subclass features, they are just really bad on their own. And by "funny", I mean in a sad, pathetic way, because Wizards of the Coast can't (or more likely won't) make good classes without magic. At least Larian made the Monk good.
Great video, great effort, but i do feel like you kneecapped yourself not really looking at rogue builds, especially looking at it from a challenge perspective, its less “can a party of rogues do it” and more “can a party of unoptimized rogues do it”
I just finished the game on tactician with a full party of rogues…they are ass im trying each class, monks cleared everything easily rogues struggled especially vs bosses
I generally don't like min maxing and prefer experimenting and learning as I go, however I might need to check out some recommended builds for act 3 to avoid the same experience, because this was rough ahaha
I highly recommend you spec one Thief with Dual Handcrossbows: ASI +2 Dex, Sharpshooter Feat and give them the risky ring. They will massacre single targets. I'd also spec one with the Medium Armor and Shield Feat and max their Armor Class and hit points to act as a tank to give everyone advantage. Have your Arcane Trickster read the book of Thay Act 1 and then the Book/Scroll in Sorcerer Sundries in Act 3 to summon 4-6 undead. I guess the final rogue spec as an assassin and use a nice large crossbow (like Harold) to launch the Alpha strike after whittling down hench men using stealth attacks.
Act 3 is on its way! I've taken everything I've learned and applied it, you're in for a treat!
Subscribe and stay tuned!
Having issues with multiple targets? Arrow of many targets is your friend, most busted one in the game :)

Yea I'm thinking of giving Laezel medium Armor proficiency

You know what, I completely forgot potion making was even a thing, that could have helped!

Oh I didn't even realise, Thanks
Get the no heal arrows and darkness arrows. Makes the myrkul avatar fight trivial.
It's not rogue specific, it's "cheese the game" specific.
Pretty sure I had those arrows too.

Oh that's so smart! I had so many of them too
Shadow hearts decision with the NightSong is based on your approval with her.
That's very interesting 🤔
@13:16 You can in fact talk Yurgir into killing himself and it counts for Astarion's deal. You don't have to fight him.
Is the hairstyle the goblin has at 2:06 in the game for a custom origin?
I don't think so...

I think I have come up with a good final build in act 3

Rip Don.
I couldn't believe that happened hahah

Good to know
Im doing a similar challenge with 3 Druids on Honor mode, one in each subclass. Till level 6 was damn complex, later on gets easier
I'm still scared of honor mode haha
In act 3, might I suggest using arrows of many targets to solve the aoe issue?
Great plan
Get the Bhaalist Armour in Act 3 from the murder tribunal. Since almost all your damage comes from piercing this will essentially double it
I will watch out for it :)
What a rough run. Jeez
right!
Pure Rogue, Crossbow Expert, Sharpshooter, Two Weapon Fighting, Dual Wield Hand Crossbows. You will win.
Crossbow expert is optional but it does make getting close much easier. Same with two weapon fighting but extra AC is nice

Thanks for the tips, I think I'll be respecting their feats at the start of act 3
Great idea
Love your vids!!!
I'm glad!
I'll keep making them 😃

I do feel like casters are the most fun
actually lv12 Battle Master has massive damage & tanking potential but yeah they're certainly not paladin levels
All Thorns can be defeated by dialogue…fighting the doctor isn’t an easy choice
Hmmm good to know

@@TJLReacts Honestly Rogue feels best as a 3-4 level dip for Thief, primarily for duel-wielding characters or into Assassin to have better Surprise

You did get through this, but for future: in Act 2, you can freely go between it and Act 1, and there still were traders in the Myconid Colony.
Not after you have released night song 😔

yes they are.
How is a party of rogues SO BAD at lockpicking?!

The risky ring ☺️
