- Welcome back to the countdown! In part 2, we're looking at some more wonderful "Are You Afraid of the Dark" episodes, featuring ghosts, goblins, clowns, and many more creepy creatures from your nightmares! This was 90's Nickelodeon at its finest!
"And no, he's NOT a nutbag!" But the local health inspector clearly is... Vink, where is your hair net?? You need at LEAST two!
Dr. Vink reminds me of the guy from "Too Many Cooks." And apparently the Watchers Woods episode is very loosely inspired by the movie "Watcher in the Woods" (talk about a Halloween classic)
Remember, it’s Vink, with a Va, Va, Va 😂😂😂
Surprised you didn't mention that Aron Tager, who played Dr. Vink, also voiced Cranky Kong in Donkey Kong Country cartoon, and sadly passed away last year.
RIP
Iron tager is my favorite blazblu character.
He also played Dr. Shreek in "Piano Lessons Can Be Murder" on Goosebumps
"The Fairy Ring does dance and sing, the mortal bloom a dying thing
So turn me now into a spirit bright, and leave behind the human plight"
One of my favorites
My high school theater teacher was in an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark. But he never told us which one
I’m sure you could google his name and find it?
@@lilsauce312 I've tried, no luck. I figure I need to watch every episode and scour the credits
The Phone Police sounds like a Twilight Zone plot tbh.
To childish for twilight zone
@@maxcorben5274Well obviously, however just the basic premise of a group that get rid of people out existence reminds me a lot like "When The Sky Opened"
I actually remember a lot of these. I remembered some of the ones in part 1 as well, but Badge, Dr. Vink's gargoyle, and the pool corpse creature (a big factor for why I stayed away from the deep end of pools for a while as a kid) were monsters that stuck with me ever since I witnessed them as a kid.
The radio station episodes is scary too. Also that episode where the two black bros play hide and seek at night in the grave yard with dead kids was scary especially the plot. May bad I forget the name.
Your top 31 list is solid!! you have good taste
29:31 Groundskeeper Willie: "Shhh! Wanna get sued?"
I will say I like Master Raymond's costume. Pinball Wizard was one of these episodes that ALWAYS stayed with me as a kid. I love pinball now (maybe this is why?) I'm sorry they didn't actually have the budget to show the game's screen, when Ross is playing it he makes it sound more like a video game. The "Rene Magritte" esque guys with their hats were always unsettling, and that ending REALLY pulled the rug out from me. I think I read somewhere the mall is also the mall from Dawn of the Dead. ALWAYS loved Jake and the Leprechaun. I once heard a youtube comment call "Sean O'Shaney" "A mini Anthony Kieidis"
Master Raymond's shirt always made me think of a skeleton's ribcage. I kind of wonder if that was what they were going for.
@@ColinLooksBack Oooh that's a good point. Or like a guard who's imprisoning them.
I always thought badge was based on a badger, hence this name.
He is a badger-like character.
Same
This Crimson Clown sounds like a kid-friendly version of Freddy Krueger.
Crimson Clown left a huge impact on my childhood too that follows me to this day, as I've more or less had a fear of clowns ever since. I had to scroll down to look away when his episode's ranking came up. Good to know I wasn't the only one who refused to watch that episode once I'd seen it, or who got nightmares because of it.
Crimson Clown is actually cute when it first appears.
I never so much thought of clowns as scary so much as annoying. VERY annoying. I'd say Binky the Clown is the most accurate one to express how I felt about them.
Yea like many class clowns are in truth annoying jerks but some are genuinely funny but they can also be bullies (mean spirited humor)
Man, so much nostalgia! Loved the flute episode, the pool episode, and the Irish episode, even if they adjusted the folklore and disregarded that banshee is from “Bhan Sidhe” (excuse my spelling) which roughly translates to “Female Fairy.” I want to watch the series again. XD
Edit: LOL, I loved your outro! 🤣
The pinball episode was one of my favorites!!
I have seasons 1, 2, and 3. I only watched them in morning or hardy watched them at bc they r scary. Lol.
So glad someone finally mentioned Badge. He's the only one who made me lose sleep.
I’m in my late 20’s... I remembered that episode from when I was really young and it scared me so bad. I looked for so long on Google and UA-cam for the episode but could never find it. I always searched “wolf”. Just this past year I finally realized it was that episode “tale of the badge”. So weird to see it again, the memory was so old it felt like a dream.
@@jg1335 I know right? I always thought the show was less than scary, so the times I ddi watch it I was all "Yeah, uh-huh, right...yeah I guess that's"...then he coms through the door and everything changed.
There might be some of my favourite episodes which i did liked myself in part three
It looks like Part 6 of Disney Villains will be next after the third and final installment of this Halloween special.
That's my plan! :)
@@ColinLooksBack Are you also planning to make more So Many Christmas Carols as the holiday season approaches?
@@martinjohnson7225 I definitely have a few in mind.
@@ColinLooksBack Cool!
5:48 is that Neve Campbell from scream ?! 🧐
Neve Campbell was also the voice of adult Kiara from Lion King 2
I know I’m a year late to this video but that music from Croc 2 at the start hit me with the nostalgia feels.
Glad to be here for part 2.
I loved the jack episodes my fav the young girl who plays in that episode he also plays on the show back in the day ready or not he played the character monkey ears. I loved in the episodes how the audience though how it was all play when in reality it was actually happening.
I love the Pinball Wizard!!!
Night nurse is scary and also the night shift.
So Unusual!
plot twist: spooky scary skeletons was footage of the skeleton soldiers of abrahams ghost train rehearsing before the funeral
The reference to George Orwell's novel "1984" is somewhat ironic, because in the "Watcher Woods" episode, the three old hags torment one of the girls by showing her a bucket of mice, which she's terrified of. That's almost like the scene from "1984" where Winston Smith is tortured in the Ministry Of Love (it's a doublethink name since the ministry concerns itself with torture), and in the end, he is finally forced to accept the philosophy and standards of the ruling party (and is also made to love the head of the state, known only as Big Brother, instead of his girlfriend, Julia) when he's taken to Room 101, where prisoners are confronted with their greatest fears, and, in Winston's case, it happens to be RATS, which, like mice, are rodents.
Hey, I realized why he’s called badge. It’s because he doesn’t look like a rodent. It looks like a badger so that would make him a weasel. If you don’t get the joke, it’s because badgers are related to weasels. They’re the same family which also includes skunks Wolverine and some otters
Walt Disney loved trains
"Pinball Wizard" is filmed at the "Chopping Mall" mall, isn't it?
The dark music scary one too.
If being a funny prank caller is all it takes to avoid the wrath of the Phone Police then Russel from Ownage Pranks is definitely in the clear
Ngl badge still kind of creeps me out.
That crimson clown was scary looking but not me I’m brave
Hey I got a suggestion for your future Script To Screen video or your new DreamWorks Villains Retrospective (a sequel to your Disney Villains Retrospective). Try to do something related to the DreamWorks How To Train Your Dragon franchise, the DreamWorks Trolls franchise and of course DreamWorks Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken.
Does anybody get the feeling that Badge the goblin's design, remind you of Rick Baker's makeup for the Grinch along with the Crimson Clown remind anyone of Poltergeist? Also insert Pinball Wizard by Elton John joke here.
I love Assassin's Creed, and I just got it on Steam.
The dangerous soup episodes lol I am almost scared of everything lol. Therefore, that soup would be 300 dollars lol.
I am scared of darkness, heights, bugs, rodents, reptiles, dogs, and the snow white scary adventures ride at Disneyland lol. Therefore my soup will bc my fear would be 300 dollars bc if I was in that room all my fears will be all over lol.
Watcher woods was really scary.
Intro music and the music at the end is too dangerous scary lol
I have that same gargoyle statue outside
Wow... the voice of Hiccup is a AYAOTD Kid!
If your favourite story is A Christmas Carol, and you've done overviews of the various adaptations of it, I might also suggest Doctor Who's adaptation of the story for their 2010 Christmas Special. Even if you don't end up watching the show outright, I think it's a pretty cool adaptation.
I never saw the tv show, but I did read the books. I was a goosebumps fan and after reading all the books my library had, i discovered the "are you afraid of the dark" section (strangely I cant remember the stories...weird)
Is that Banjo Kazooie music I hear during the Watcher’s Woods segment!?!
Is it just me or does Master Raymond look like he stepped off the set of MCR's Welcome to the Black Parade?
He certainly does.
What's your thoughts on the reboot version ?
I like at the end of the of watcher woods when u see the young girl at the end.
Sarah, kick butt and was brave bc I couldn't do it lol
After watching and playing a lot of Yo-Kai Watch and getting super peeved whenever someone calls Nate average the word “average” has become something of a trigger word for me
Thanks for those.
There is another one about a hunted bowling alley that good. We're a sister see her dead brother ghost live action but no see him but her.
What was that one about laughing in the dark at theme park that's scary one too. It is about clown.
1.the robot business men looks like the blues brothers 2.dosent beat warwick davis leprechaun
Is there a Knight of Cerbus villain who was not just the darkest villain in AYAOTD but Nickelodeon as a whole?
Good video
the tale of the Crimson Clown was the worst in my opinion! but I like how that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 poster appears in this episode gets a million points!
Just so you know Doug Walker talked about the Headleass Horseman on his Dark Toons series.
Please don't mention him here, you know he still owes an apology and explanation on the grievances he was complicit with on his former employees.
@@TylerRakstis That effects you how ? And I was talking to Colin.
@@nicholassims9837Not necessarily, but it's still a warning not to endorse people in significant high ranks of power that shrug off stuff that is seriously immoral and potentially criminal.
@@TylerRakstis but how does that effects NC and Colin were they partners ?
@@nicholassims9837 No, but I don't want to endorse him to be following or supporting them.
Geez, the names of these episodes are ironically well just kind of something in the story not that it’s bad but if the Cryptkeeper were to watch this, he probably would either be laughing at the fact that they’re blender than his titles OK the titles aren’t bland. They are actually kind of creepy if they get out of context, but this is me comparing a show for children to an HBO series full of sex gore and swearing so I’m not one to judge
What about the one where the girl kept seeing all these wired ppl in these wired magical glasses.
YES
Cominginmrbraveyounglad?
Hey heads up, the thumbnail is wrong.
Thanks for letting me know!
Pinball one was my fav that is not scary at all. I always thought the girl was pretty.
I don't remember train magic episodes like when they changed the casts I stop watching.
We're next video can you please do the circus Playhouse band
What about one where Kiki actually come into the midnight society looking like girl that was good one but I believe it was the storyline where this girl wanted to be modal and the old lady was there collecting the faces of pretty girls. Once I forget name.
Thats the haunting hour, a different show. It's weird i know, but i get them mixed up at times as well.
The Tale of Many Faces?
@@concludedhail40 there is an episode of tales from the crypt that being only sin deep that has a similar premise to that but it’s different
Wasn’t Pinball Wizard a song?
Yes, it was a hit record for Elton John back in the 1970s.
Later season of this show was not too good to me when they changed the cast.
This is supposed to be number two dude
Thank you, just changed it!
Where's Part 3?
Do you remember Thomasfan75
Was I the only kid that never got spooked by this show?
In the watcher woods kelly omg I could not stand her lol.
I wonder where you watch the show today
I think I’m the only person in existence that doesn’t like the Pinball Wizard episode.
The phone police is not scary just stupid lol
betty anns skull mask looks like manny calavera from grim fandango
