I leave a pack of the Pacifica deodorant wipes in my car for when I’m out and anxious. I haven’t found a good deodorant that won’t melt in my car. I like to tear off little pieces and use it to freshen up a bit, but I agree that it’s overpriced and bad for the environment!

      @xenyadominguez8209 4 роки тому +3

It is an alum but it does not work or is absorb the same way.
the rock is basically mineral salt, it does NOT block your sweatglands wich is the main problem with type of alumnium they use in antiperspirant, thats what clog your lymph nodes and can potentially be "dangerous"
The mineral salt, basically just eliminates bacteria but you will sweat just the same, no lymph nodes clogged.

for anyone who needs it, try checking out Bears Beauty on Etsy. i’ve been using her original deodorant (can’t rememberer the exact name atm), and i really love it. it’s all natural, and no baking soda if i remember correctly. i’ve been using it since january and i’ve had no problems with it. it’s a bit expensive, but it lasts so long that i don’t really mind the cost. i’ve been using the same stick since january and it’s just now about to run out. every other deodorant i’ve used either stopped working after a few weeks/months, or eventually gave me a rash (lush), so this one still working after 6/7 months makes me really happy about it

Schmidt’s gave me a horrible, horrible rash, and crystal didn’t do ANYTHING after about 2 hours, regardless of how active I was or was not being that day. Toms also didn’t really do anything and from what I understand there’s dispute on the products they use.

I bought the Schmidt Bergamot and Lime deoderant ages ago and loved the scent, but I am unfortunately one of those that gets horrible rashes with the baking soda. I used it up entirely and never got used to it like some people said I would. It did work, but I felt like half way through the day it would pretty much disappear apart from the baking soda (which had absorbed the odor and hung onto it, so I smelled again, almost worse than before) so I'd have to wash and reapply.

crystal: i do still have mine and it's been over a year. i use it less now that it broke (it fell out when i was wetting it and smashed) but i agree, the wetness was weird and it's okay. i use it after a shower at night or as i am still always testing out new CF/natural deodorants, sometimes they are not that strong so i mix! i honestly don't know that i would repurchase since it's a pain to use after breaking which happens to a lot of people :S i am now trying the liquid roller version of it and it's been okay so far! toms: whatever the lemon grass one is, that's my fav and i find the best out of the lot in terms of actually working. Lavanilla: didn't work for me either. also, left white on my clothes which i hate and one of the elements i am striving to find in a deodorant. i also recently just finished using all my samples from native. they are actually a good brand (that coconut vanilla scent is BOMB! when you sweat, it's all you smell - even later on your clothes!) butttt sometimes, it leaves that white residue.

They have scents like jasmine green tea, geranium flower, pineapple coconut, tea tree oil....my point is tons of scents and baking soda free. I've used tons of natural deodorants before realizing that baking soda was a MAJOR problem for me but between the schmidt's sensitive skin, and the native I've gone 2 years without any kind of rash or staining of the armpit on clothing (especially on white shirts) hopefully this helps you out. 😁👍🏾. -Duke Cannon: liked the scent and application but peeled my skin
    ~~(around here, I figured out I'm probably allergic/sensitive to baking soda formulations)~~
-Primal Pit Paste: seemed fine, durability was good, but I didn't like the manual application because it left my hands greasy. Eco-friendly packaging (glass jar).
-Meow Meow Tweet: good scents, nice application, worked ok, BUT too much residue left on clothing and stained the pits yellow on my white shirts. Sometimes required a touch-up during the day. Eco-friendly packaging (cardboard push-up tube).
-Native: nice application, scents (I've tried the Coconut&Vanilla and also the Eucalyptus&Mint and both are great), works well, no rash, but do have to be careful not to over-apply bc it can get on clothing, but I haven't experienced any staining from it.
What would I buy again? Primal and Native. I'm liking Native a lot but ideally I would find something that doesn't use plastic packaging. I would try Primal again, but potentially one of the 'stick' formulations. Both worked well for me though.
Thanks for your review Sarah! There's 15 more deodorants I can cross off the list thanks to you lol
Anyway, hopefully this is helpful to somebody out there.

for my folks in the UK, Superdrug's own deodorant is cruelty-free and works exactly as well as any other! it is an aerosol so not super great for environment, but it comes in several diff scents and sensitivities and is like £2 for a can that lasts several months - plus it's in every Superdrug so really accessible. ☺️

so i tried out schmidts after watching this video and just saying its not for everyone. it worked AMAZING for me at first, but it began to dry out my skin very bad. it was painful and it turned my pits a dark color. and now my armpits smell worse than before.. I guess my skin is more on the sensitive side. just fyi to anyone with sensitive skin! I will try the other formula soon.

i’m so glad you made this video! i’ve recently developed an irritation to a deodorant i’ve been using for like 5/6 years after already having an irritation to regular popular brand deodorant, i have really super sensitive skin. i had been using arm & hammer essentials and swore by it and my armpits have decided we hate it now 🤧 so i’ve made the switch to natural and vegan deodorant and i’ve mostly been using the nubian heritage the exact scent you have in this one, so bomb! i do agree it doesn’t last very long, i work in a kitchen but i also don’t end up smelling too horribly lol and i just reapply when i feel necessary. i also have a schmidt’s but haven’t used it too much because i’m mostly obsessed with the nubian heritage. i also sometimes use these veggie protein deodorants i have from this bath and body soap company i’ve been loyal to since 2014, fortune cookie soap! they are online only though and a little pricey, 12.99$ but they have the best scents and the deodorant are 2.7 oz 🙏🏼

my favorite for the past three years has been the Tom's lavender one. I tried the calendula but it made my skin all weird and peely. The men's versions smell really good too and they're the same price, you can get them literally anywhere and the best part is they don't break when you drop them like a normal antipersperant.

I was a little surprised to not see native deodorant! Native deodorant is the only natural deodorant I've tried but boy is it good. I pick it up at walmart and it's around $11. But deodorants usually stop working for me at some point of using it for so long so I'll definitely try one of these in the future

Ive tried the schmidts pot deodorant in lavender sage and their roll up one in bergamot and lime and the lavender sage....those are the ones i started trying first. The pot was a little better....the stick one i tried and it was ok....until 2 things happened. The first time i used it i did get red rash. I then used a mixture of aztec clay with some water and acv to make a paste to detox the under arms and had to deal with out deodorant for like 3days until the flare up subsided. Also, do not apply schmidts after shaving, it can also cause a flare up. After i got past the rash i decided to try it again after doing a detox and letting my under arms heal. It worked fine but i noticed that my clothes smelled salty even after showering. I then figured out it had to be the baking soda in the formula. My body just didnt react well with it. It always left this sent behind even after youre clean and showered or maybe it was a low activity day. I knew i wasnt perspiring as much so what was it and it was the baking soda leaving the salty smell in my clothes. So i recently switched to myro. I did another armpit detox with my clay and started the use of the myro. At first the brand is right. You do sweat a bit more as your body adjusts but the more i use it the less i have any issues. I no longer have hyper pigmentation under my arms with the help of detoxing with the clay and swapping to natural deodorants. I do sweat but it is a natural occurring thing that your body does to release toxins. I use my detox mask about once a week starting natural deodorants and now i do it like every two week. The more you do it the less you will have to and little by little i started to have less issues with odor so my fave combo is my detox mask and the myro deodorant, currently trying the scent called pillow talk.😊

I’m gonna give my own little review of the natural deodorants I’ve tried:
The Schmidt’s bergamot and lime smells delicious and works amazing, but it gave me a rash! The rose and vanilla one is the same for me.
The sensitive skin one works for me but ONLY in the scent jasmine tea! It smells great (people will actually say I smell great when I’m only wearing that at like the end of a long day) I have been using this one for a couple of months and sometimes it gets a bit less effective give but I recommend doing an armpit mask (weird, I know) because it really helps me.

    • @maiaks
      @maiaks 5 років тому

From the sensitive skin range, I’ve tried the lavender, the coconut, and the Lilly of the valley and none of them work as well as the jasmine tea. It really is the best one! My mom also enjoys the unscented one, but it doesn’t hold up on like really hot days for me.

I’ve tried Tom’s, Schmidt’s, and native. I have the opposite opinion lol. I love Tom’s and feel like it works very well for me. I felt like it has a strong smell that last all day. I’m not a fan of Schmidt’s I had the rose one you have to let it heat up a little and then use it. I feel like it applies too thick and mushy (I also had to reapply after a couple hours). I live in Cali so in summer it gets over 100 degrees so I won’t be able to control the deodorant on how melted it is. Native works well I’ve noticed that all I need is 2 swipes of it and I’m good to go

Schmidt's sensitive skin is the best for me. I feel like a big tip i have is to let your pits detox from whatever deodorant you were using prior to it and within a few days/maybe a week you won't smell anymore. It won't be super fragrant like you said but like almost a non-smell is what you should expect. Plus, no scratchiness or rash!

I have that same deodorant crystal, which I bought here in Australia about 7 or 8 years ago. I found it works best if you have bald armpits. To wet the crystal I do not soak it but rub it over with a wet/damp face washer. I only use it when visiting a chemical sensitive friends who has lupus. I prefer Schmidts rose and vanilla deodorant, which I've only found in Costco, $27 for a 3 pack. The first time I used it we were out for the day and I kept saying to hubby that a lady is wearing a lovely perfume but I could not work out who she was. At the end of the day I was pulling on my seat belt, turned my head to see what I was doing, and .... discovered the perfume wearing lady was me.

thank you for this video! i’ve always avoided anti-perspirants and spent years trying to find the right one. i agree that schmidt’s is it! it always smells good and a little goes a long way, i find i get that clumping and gummyness when i use too much (it’s easier to use too much of the sensitive skin formula). you can also get rose vanilla or bergamot lime in a 3 pack at costco! i now have a “deodorant wardrobe” thanks to schmidt’s, and it’s very fun to choose my scent for the day. bless schmidt’s!

I've been using the salt crystal deodorants for years. In my experience they stop odor very very well but do not stop wetness at all.
They're pretty easy to apply and one container lasts forever
Its not necessary to run it under water first. Just apply to wet pits. I put it on while still in the shower, before I dry off. At the end, I just turn off the water, put on my deodorant, then get out, towel off and get ready for the day.
I've seen people say they don't last all day. It always does for me. At least 24 hours. I think the key us realuzing it not like a traditional deodorant and follows its own rules. I do find I need to apply much more of ths for it to wotk at it's best. For me that works out to about 30-40 strikes under each atm. Then it works amazingly for me.
The salt sticks work because sweat itself is odorless and colorless. The odor cones from undeam bacterai that feeds on the sweat, and create an odor ad the do so.
They cannot live in a salty environment. No bacteria to cause bad odor = no odor

First, I totally agree that Schmidt’s Bergamot Lime smells amazing, but I was one of those people that ended up having an issue with it after a while. For a while it worked for me, but then my underarms got super dry and the skin grew thicker and became discolored (like a dark brown) so I stopped using it. I’ve since moved to Meow Meow Tweets Grapefruit Baking Soda Free cream deodorant in a pot. It has a creamier and softer consistency than Schmidt’s potted deodorant which makes it quicker to apply, but I think I go through the 2.4 oz pot a little faster. The smell is amazing and not too strong and so far I have not had an issue with it! I do purchase this off of Amazon and I haven’t seen it in stores at this point.

So far out of all this brands you mentioned I have tried Schmidt's and Jason in the Tea Tree scent. It's interesting that you mentioned you liked the application of Jason because I personally hated it. It melted too quickly when applying leaving a wet feeling on my armpits and after drying it would feel a bit sticky. Also it wasn't that great at preventing odor, even thought the deodorant itself smelled nice. So out of those two Schmidt's is the one I like the best. You have to warm it up when you apply it like you said, but I don't mind it. I may try Moody Sisters in the future since you liked it so much. Thank you for the recommendation.

Ugh I love the way the Rose and vanilla Schimdts smells but I got dark spots on my pits and then a horrible rash. It seems like I and a lot of people in the comments have a baking soda allergy at least in the pit area. Currently using Native in the scent Lavender Rose and I'll see if it happens with this brand too. I might be sol if it really is the baking soda because I think that is a common ingredient in all natural deodorants.

  • @StellaMariaGiulia

The crystal is potassium aluminium sulphate, which, simply put, is a potassium/aluminium salt.
I've used it for years with no issues, but yeah, you're still using aluminium, though I don't know in what capacity is different to "normal" deodorants.
It should purify water and air, work against body odour but it works if you put it in you fridge as well, and to stop bleeding (I.e. Aftershave)
I usually combine it with mild deodorants (the ones without aluminium) during summer and it sustains hot Italian summer days, but I'm not someone who sweats much and I'm not smelly anyway. (A sentence I'd never thought I'd say on the Internet! 😂)
Thanks for this! I have an Italian brand which is cruelty free called Omnia, it works fine but not great, but it's cheap. My friends make their with coconut oil and baking soda but my skin is too sensitive.
