Not Your Mother's haircare is an awesome cruelty-free hair option at the drugstore, they have a ton of stuff! Also, for deodorant Native deodorant is the best! Only CF deodorant I've used that I use once and don't have to reapply! Awesome video!☺️💜
Just a warning to acne prone folks, try the travel sizes of It's a 10 before committing to the big boys. All of their products work amazingly well and make your hair look beautiful, but they broke me out like crazy. My face, my neck, my chest, my back. It was awful! Nothing bad against the brand, just might not be good for acne prone people.
When this happens try shampooing your hair before washing your body. Once you're done with your hair pin it up with a shower cap or towel or hair clip and wash the rest of your body really good so you have no residue from your shampoo on your back or chest. Left over shampoo/conditioner is what causes your pores to clog then comes acne! Ive been doing this and my bacne has diminished by a ton
Dr.Bronner's! They are all natural soaps, lotions, toothpastes, and maybe cleaning supplies. 100% cruelty-free, fair trade, vegan, and organic. I Find them all the time at tj maxx but are also sold at most health food stores like whole foods or trader joes. The body wash makes my skin feel like butter and i like that their toothpaste doesnt dry out my mouth like most other ones. I use the lotion as well, but it can feel a little greasy if you use it too heavily.
Soap & Glory is cruelty-free, as far as I know. I love the brand in general and for body wash, I would recommend the "Clean on Me" body wash. It smells so good, makes your skin soft and also gives you a ~clean~ feeling.
I’ve just recently decided to go cruelty free, it’s been like...two days. I rarely wear make up but I’ve been looking for videos like this recently as I like to sometimes and then you uploaded this!! I feel like you uploading this is a Christmas miracle
I like how you included the more difficult to find products. I have been thinking about making the switch and this really helps me find products to do so. Long time subby here and will always stay!
Not Your Mother's is cruelty free and have amazing hair products 😊 I had no idea about It's a 10. Smhmidt's Lavender and Sage is my favorite 😊 I brought mine at Target.
every day I live with the regret of not buying that distressed sweater when you posted that haul. Also, Soap and Glory is cruelty free and their Clean on Me body wash is EVERYTHIIIIIING.
Raegan VanderMeer To anyone looking to buy Paul Mitchell just note that there are a lot of fakes sold in stores like Walgreens, Target, etc! They are usually expired which can causes rashes and irritation. For the legitimate product order from Ulta, their website, or buy it from your local salon!
CJ oh totally! I always buy mine from SalonCentric, but Ulta or online is the way to go if you’re not a cosmetologist. I’ve had clients tells me how they’ve gotten “deals” from drugstores or stores like TJMaxx and I always tell them to stick to the salon stuff!
You should film more videos like this. I really enjoyed hearing about your favorites, maybe because I'm also a makeup lover. Btw: You reminded me of Bree Van de Kamp in the thumbnail ❤
Great video! It's a 10 leave-in will help protect from heat but if someone uses a lot of heat they should get a dedicated heat protector. I don't know if you already know about them but Logical Harmony and also Rhian HY have a plethora of knowledge and content about cruelty free as well as vegan beauty and lifestyle* products.
Yesenia Gutierrez congratulations on making the decision to transition! You're going to be so surprised on how easy it is & how many brands already are CF x
Hey! I’m a hairdresser at a JCPSalon. We sell “It’s A Ten” for a little less than what you mentioned! You can also use JCP coupons on some salon products! As for the shine in your hair, initially you might get it from your dye, but to keep that shine you have to use good products. I believe your shine is from your products for sure.
Aveda has a heat protectant and they’re cruelty free but they’re kinda expensive. As for body wash, I use the olive and lavender bar soap from Kiss My Face. I believe they do have a body wash/shower gel product as well.
GIRL I SWEAT ALL THE TIME TOO!!! I could be cold, but still sweat... it's so weird and finding natural deodorants is so hard :( I can't wait for your video!
Paul Mitchell heat protectant “Hot off the Press” is really good and cruelty free!! Also AG brand is cruelty free and I love their shMpoo and they also have heat protectant
Hey Sarah! A great body wash I LOVE is Dr Bronners Castile soap, it’s a little pricey but you can get a big bottle at target for around $16, they come in a variety of scents and it makes my body feel so clean and smells really good! It’s also a really natural and versatile product, you can use it for face and body wash, shampoo, household cleaner, etc, it’s a really great product I highly recommend!!
Thanks for the video! I went cruelty free around a year ago and the deodorant struggle is real! But everything else was super easy, especially makeup! If you are interested to try out some new brands here are my favorites: Skincare - PHB Ethical Beauty; I am obsessed with their products and will be repurchasing the whole routine for the 3rd time soon! They have products for different skin types, easy to navigate and I personally really see difference in my skin since starting to use that brand! Haircare - Maria Nila; their products are quite pricey but totally worth it! Once again, they have lines for all hair needs and great styling products too! Once I've tried this brand I don't want to try anything for my hair anymore apart from Ouai Texturising spray. Nailcare - Ciate and Butter London are the best! Shower gel and bubble bath -TreacleMoon; they have a ton of lovely scents and are from the drugstore! Cleaning products - Method; this brand has every single product you may ever need to clean your home, do laundry, wash hands, dishes anything! Products are non toxic, so you dont end up with crusty hands after a clean up, they smell great and work miracles! I hope you can find those brands in the US, since I'm in the UK but all of them are available online! Also if you want to have a browse, this website has it all and more www.biggreensmile.com (first time I shopped there I went totally crazy haha) Hope you'll find this useful! Love you x
Desert Essence Spray heat protectant (you can find it at sprouts, whole foods, on vitacost, iherb, etc.) and Dr. Bronner's castile soap is amaaaazing. Also, deep steep has some nice body wash as well.
Pinrose is a great cruelty free and vegan perfume company. You can buy like a sample kit like thing from their website for like 10 USD or something, it has all their scents so you can smell them all before you spend the money on a full bottle.
Oh my god I hate Tom's deodrants. They make me smell nasty when naturally my sweat doesn't even really smell. Pacifica is an all vegan and cruelty free brand that can be found at target. They have perfumes too
I use a lot of Live Clean products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap etc) they are cruelty-free, vegan, sulfate free, biodegradable and made in Canada - not sure how accessible they are outside of the great white north, but can be found at almost every chain pharmacy and grocery store here. Affordable and great.
You should explore LUSH products! The perfumes are sooooooo floral and also they have literally the most gentle hydrating body washes. Seriously, look into it!
Definitely try Drybar or Living Proof for incredible hair products! The Drybar dry shampoo is amazing, and all of the other products from both brands are great. I've been using Not Your Mother's heat protectant, but I don't recommend it; it makes my hair sticky and it smells like straight alcohol.
I’m so excited for the deodorant video! I actually saw one of your videos years and years ago when I started following your channel where you talked about having hyperhidrosis and recommended certain dri. I also have hyperhidrosis but I never knew it until I saw your video. I was always too embarrassed to talk about it or ask my doctor. I went out and bought certain dri the day after and have used it ever since. So thank you for making the past several years of my life easier! ❤️ I also only buy cruelty free beauty products and was excited to learn certain dri is cruelty free (their parent company isn’t). I know the deodorant struggle lol. My favorites are by Jason and lavanila.
Ulta used to give out the small size It's a 10 leave-in product as a free gift all the time. That's how I discovered it. Not sure if they still do though. It's been a minute since I've shopped there.
So happy you went cruelty free, and 2 years ago oh my god. I have been cruelty free makeup wise since I probably were 18 or so. That is 6 years ago. I am going all cruelty free, but the rest of it seems so difficult. This definitely helps :)
Hey! Old school subscriber here. Thanks so much for doing this video! My recommendation for a cruelty free heat protectant would be the "Coconut Water Mist, Leave in Treatment" by Renpure. I was so happy to make that discovery. Wishing you all the best xx
Not sure if you have Superdrug in America but they’re a budget friendly high street beauty shop here in the U.K. and all their own brand products are cruelty free! Great for hair products and different body washes, that’s where I get my heat protect from.
I used to be able to get this brand called 'Amie' at a drugstore, but they no longer carry the brand. You CAN get it online though. I've only ever used the moisturiser, but I loved it.
Primal Pit Paste in thyme & lemongrass (in the tube, not the tub) worked really well for smell but gave me contact dermatitis because of all the baking soda :( some people’s skin is less sensitive though so you may want to try it! Smells very lemony fresh
i know this is late, but live clean has such good cruelty free shampoo and conditioner! they sell it at target and the coconut smells amazing and leaves your hair suuuuper soft. and it’s only like $6!
For a body wash try The Seaweed Bath co. They just started selling it at some targets and I believe they also have it at Whole Foods. The company is made in the US. It’s made with natural ingredients, it’s gluten free, paraben free, vegan, and cruelty free. I swear by this stuff!
It’s a 10 makes a heat protectant spray, Not Your mother’s also has a really good one. For body wash Dr. Bronners is amazing, there’s also Raw Sugar body washes. A little pricey but they smell great and are really nice on the skin! And for deodorant I only use Toms. I really wanted to like Schmidt’s but it gave me a rash, which sucks because I did love it before that and I felt it worked really well. I’m wondering if it could have just been the scent that I got because otherwise I’ve never gotten a rash from any deodorant. So I may have to look into that!
My makeup is all cruelty free (other than my huge collection of nail polish, which I already had), but I didn't think about stuff like shampoo and deodorant. Going to try making my own. Doesn't seem too difficult. NYX and ELF are my favourite drug-store brands.
I don't use a heat protectant, I just use a bit of oil instead (I have very dry hair). I don't know if that's enough protection, but I don't use a lot of heat on my hair anyway. But it might be an option while your searching for a cruelty-free heat protectant.
So looking forward for your deodorant video! Finding a good cruelty free one has been so hard for me as I'm quite a smelly person haha. It's something I've come to accept and doesn't bother me too much but id still like to smell nice if I can, you know? Schmitt is next on my list to try, so fingers crossed it works for me too!
www.crueltyfreekitty.com has amazingly comprehensive lists for brands that are cruelty free and brands to avoid. It even tells you if they are owned by brands that aren't cruelty free. They're updated constantly and include skincare, body skincare, and makeup. I'm not sure if there's a perfume list.
I was gonna ask where you found out morphe’s cruelty free because Logicalharmony still has Morphe under her grey area list but I just found out Cruelty-Free kitty has morphe on HER CF list! Now that a CF blogger and CF youtubers are confident that Morphe’s CF, I can feel comfortable buying at the new morphe store!!! Rip my bank acct
I use the Tom’s women’s deodorant in apricot and I’ve noticed a big difference! I was hating how other cheap deodorants were making me smell/feel and staining my clothes. I’ve heard stories of the Tom’s one not working though so like you said, trial and error. Also, YOUR HAIR 😍🔥
I love Tom's men deodorant!!! I think it works way better than the women's version, plus Mountain Spring smells amazing. I don't have a problem with sweating, but I do find it keeps me smelling fresh all day long. I'm allergic to aluminum and it's my ride or die deodorant.
I have dry, sensitive skin so my favorites are quite gentle (so they may not suit everyone's preferences) but I love Shea Moisture's raw shea butter body wash, which is at the drugstore, and Alaffia's bar soaps at Whole Foods. Weleda's natural deodorant, which is a lightweight spritz, works best for me. Everyone raves about Schmidt's but it irritates my skin very badly. A cheaper deodorant in stick form I really like is the one from Desert Essence.
Also, with cruelty free/ natural deodorants, make sure the label reads deodorant and antiperspirant. Usually if it just says deodorant, you still feel sweaty and smell like b.o and earthy.
I have a question, what do you do about your clothes(or things you wear like shoes ect)? i think cruelty free goes hand in hand with sustainable a lot of times. Just wondering. :)
Rocio Iribe Sarah thrifts a bunch of her clothes, and that's sustainable, but I'm not sure about her shoes and stuff. She doesn't buy leather first hand, which I think is smart :)
logical harmony is the best resource for cruelty free and vegan products. she does the research and can guarantee when products and brands and cruelty free, with frequent updates.
cruelty free at the drug store or "drug store" prices: pacifica, yes to, soap and glory, acure, dr bronners. i also love lush body washes and find that the prices are pretty reasonable for a decent size bottle that lasts me quite a while :)
I want to warn people, ( I have very sensitive skin) and the Toms deodorant burned my armpits and I was left with weird dark greenish marks on my armpits for a few months.
Have you tried the Tree Hut body washes? They are cruelty free and I've gotten them at Ulta and I think Walmart. The almond one is so good but they have a few other scents as well.
The Nubian Heritage Deodorant I found at Ulta smells amazing and works really well! I got the absynnian oil and chia seed one and i've been dying to get it again.
I really like Lushes Happy Hippy body wash. It is a big favorite. I also like the Schmidt’s deodorant. It’s the only vegan deodorant I’ve found that actually works really well as I also have excessive sweating. As far as cruelty free perfume I really like Pacifica buttttt it doesn’t last all day at all. Still looking for a good replacement on perfumes
hey Sarah! I adore you and your vids (across all channels)! I have some cruelty-free (not sure on the vegan status on each, sorry) recommendations for you: Body wash and hair care at the drug store/whole foods: alba botanica or avalon organics (owned by the same parent co) both brands are affordable and have really nice stuff. Hair care: if you're looking for a slightly more affordable option from Sephora, try briogeo. I recently bought the 3-set mini/travel size of the rosarco shampoo, condition and leave-in conditioning spray/heat protectant. I am in love with this and my hair, so I will definitely repurchase the rose or the orange blossom scent pack. I also love the toms "mens" scent, so now I really want to try schmidts. Have you tried kaia naturals the takasumi detox. I am in love with juicy bamboo (expensive but effective)... Anyway, I hope you are doing really well and have a serene xmas week. Much love!
You are an autumnal angel! You look like what really expensive warm apple cider with cinnamon sticks that you could get from apple hill smells like!
Hunter Thompson aw this is the cutest compliment ever. But I fully agree! Every time I watch her videos I just feel so nostalgic towards fall/autumn.
First
your hair color got me BENT 😍
mikadocious Me too what is it uhhhh!
Girl, I cant deal with the contrast between your eyes and your hairr isudasudfh is beautiful!!
sarah deserves a million subscribers. you’re amazing 🧡
I recommend lush hair products so much, not as expensive as mentioned in this video and all cruelty free
Not Your Mother's haircare is an awesome cruelty-free hair option at the drugstore, they have a ton of stuff! Also, for deodorant Native deodorant is the best! Only CF deodorant I've used that I use once and don't have to reapply! Awesome video!☺️💜
i think i am using their heat protectant currently- i do not use heat on my hair much-but it is always worth a try!

The mix of your hair and sweater colors really make your eyes pop! ♥️
Dr.Bronner's! They are all natural soaps, lotions, toothpastes, and maybe cleaning supplies. 100% cruelty-free, fair trade, vegan, and organic. Abby Friday you're going to be so surprised on how easy it is! So many of the brands you already love are probably CF!💓
Not Your Mother's is cruelty free and have amazing hair products 😊 I had no idea about It's a 10. Smhmidt's Lavender and Sage is my favorite 😊 I brought mine at Target.
michellebelledejour are you sure not your mother's is cf? They're still on logical harmony's grey area list
So keen for a video about natural deodorants! I've become such a nerd for them since going cruelty free
The Tom's anti-perspirant in the green tube helps me with my smell, I love it!
Thank you for this!! Also I love the colors of your everything in this video
every day I live with the regret of not buying that distressed sweater when you posted that haul.
Also, Soap and Glory is cruelty free and their Clean on Me body wash is EVERYTHIIIIIING.
Paul Mitchell is cruelty free! Hot of the Press is my favorite and I use it on clients all the time!
Btw: You reminded me of Bree Van de Kamp in the thumbnail ❤
omg she’s my favorite housewife!
Sarah Hawkinson I know, I remember you said that ages ago in a vlog. That's the main reason why I commented
Great video! It's a 10 leave-in will help protect from heat but if someone uses a lot of heat they should get a dedicated heat protector.
I don't know if you already know about them but Logical Harmony and also Rhian HY have a plethora of knowledge and content about cruelty free as well as vegan beauty and lifestyle* products.
perfect timing for this video 🙏🏼 want to make this transition for the new year!
Yesenia Gutierrez i wish you luck on your new endeavor! 🤗💕
Yesenia Gutierrez congratulations on making the decision to transition! You're going to be so surprised on how easy it is & how many brands already are CF x
I’ve been cruelty free since I moved out of my parents house so about 5/6 years now. Best decision I ever made as well!
This comment section is so wonderful. Everyone is so helpful and nice!
I can't get over how pretty your hair looks on you!
If you are interested to try out some new brands here are my favorites:
Skincare - PHB Ethical Beauty; I am obsessed with their products and will be repurchasing the whole routine for the 3rd time soon!
Also if you want to have a browse, this website has it all and more www.biggreensmile.com (first time I shopped there I went totally crazy haha)

Love you x
Desert Essence Spray heat protectant (you can find it at sprouts, whole foods, on vitacost, iherb, etc.) and Dr. Bronner's castile soap is amaaaazing. Also, deep steep has some nice body wash as well.
I remember when you used to wear the MAC pro longer concealer as a foundation! Now I really want to try the Shape Tape
Absolute favorite you tuber! Psych, makeup and vegan topics! You rock 💚🌿😄
Pinrose is a great cruelty free and vegan perfume company. You can buy like a sample kit like thing from their website for like 10 USD or something, it has all their scents so you can smell them all before you spend the money on a full bottle.
I love your setup in this video the background and what you’re wearing looks really nice
and omg you look sooo beautiful 🤩
Oh my god I hate Tom's deodrants. They make me smell nasty when naturally my sweat doesn't even really smell.
Pacifica is an all vegan and cruelty free brand that can be found at target. They have perfumes too

Not your mother’s beat the heat protectant spray is cruelty free, you can find it at ulta
Lindsey R. Also I've seen it at target :)
How do you know they're cruelty free for sure? I noticed they are still on logical harmony's grey area list
Courtney Hoing just going off the can I have here it says it’s never tested on animals, of course I could be wrong.
You should explore LUSH products! The perfumes are sooooooo floral and also they have literally the most gentle hydrating body washes. Seriously, look into it!

The it's a 10 leave in spray is a heat protectant. I also use ion.. For body washes, I use Shea Moisture.
I’m so excited for the deodorant video! I love you so much. There's just something about you that makes me so happy. ❤️
thank you oh my god. i need a cruelty free deodorant, i’ve been searching for one for so long. i look forward to the video!
also the brand Yes To is an amazing cruelty free brand. i love them
Ulta used to give out the small size It's a 10 leave-in product as a free gift all the time. That's how I discovered it. Not sure if they still do though. It's been a minute since I've shopped there.
Try the herban cowboy deodorant at Whole Foods. I don’t know how well it will work for the sweating but it keeps me smelling good all day!
So happy you went cruelty free, and 2 years ago oh my god. I have been cruelty free makeup wise since I probably were 18 or so. That is 6 years ago. I am going all cruelty free, but the rest of it seems so difficult. This definitely helps :)
Ah! Thank you! I've been wanting to go cruelty free and this really helped out
That sweater is so cute 🧡
Hey! Old school subscriber here. Thanks so much for doing this video! My recommendation for a cruelty free heat protectant would be the "Coconut Water Mist, Leave in Treatment" by Renpure. I was so happy to make that discovery. Wishing you all the best xx

More cruelty free beauty videos please!!! Love your videos!
It's a 10 leave in product is supposed to work as a heat protectant! I believe it says that on the back of the bottle.
lunarillo that's what I used mine for! It's an amazing product, worth the money. I'm trying Eva NYC's 10 in 1 right now though bc it's cheaper lol
Lush body wash is my favorite! They have so many great smells and a little goes a long way!
i just got the jaclyn hill palette for christmas!! ah i’m so happy that it’s cruelty free:))
The Shea Moisture body washes at the drugstore are incredible, and I know they have lots of different scents.
Primal Pit Paste in thyme & lemongrass (in the tube, not the tub) worked really well for smell but gave me contact dermatitis because of all the baking soda :( some people’s skin is less sensitive though so you may want to try it! Smells very lemony fresh
You look so pretty!! The hair is amazing
That lighting!!! Awesome! :)
Schmidts deodorants can be found at TJ Maxx for cheaper price and accessible there!!! My favorite and my ride or die!
I agree, esscene's BIG CURL mascara is AMAZING
i know this is late, but live clean has such good cruelty free shampoo and conditioner! they sell it at target and the coconut smells amazing and leaves your hair suuuuper soft. and it’s only like $6!
But it might be an option while your searching for a cruelty-free heat protectant.
you literally look SO PRETTY
Kenra heat protector at Ulta is the bomb!! I just checked. It's CF.
Please do a skincare video! I love the ance dote from alba bontanica!
this hair looks amazing on you! everytime i see it im just shocked and amazed even tho i should be used to it right now idk :d

I use Not your Mothers, they have a bunch of CF options for hair care!
Also i love that I'm not the only one that uses concealer as foundation except I use UD naked skin concealer. 😄
I love the shea moisture products, eveything is around 10 to 15 dollars which i think is pretty reasonable
I have a question, what do you do about your clothes(or things you wear like shoes ect)? i think cruelty free goes hand in hand with sustainable a lot of times. Just wondering. :)
Rocio Iribe
Sarah thrifts a bunch of her clothes, and that's sustainable, but I'm not sure about her shoes and stuff. She doesn't buy leather first hand, which I think is smart :)
Id love to see a like cruelty free dupe video, no necessarily price dupes but like CF alternatives to Mac lipsticks for example x
logical harmony is the best resource for cruelty free and vegan products. she does the research and can guarantee when products and brands and cruelty free, with frequent updates.
I use eva nye mane magic 10 in 1 primer is a heat protector and its cf :)
I just got Schmidt's vanilla and rose deodorant and I love it! I still sweat, but don't stink
cruelty free at the drug store or "drug store" prices: pacifica, yes to, soap and glory, acure, dr bronners. i also love lush body washes and find that the prices are pretty reasonable for a decent size bottle that lasts me quite a while :)
I don't know if you use Logical Harmony as a guide, but they show philosophy on the brand's to avoid list.
I want to warn people, ( I have very sensitive skin) and the Toms deodorant burned my armpits and I was left with weird dark greenish marks on my armpits for a few months.
I switched to natural cruelty free products this year. Schmidts is my fav deodarant too. I don’t really wear makeup so it’s easier for me
EO has a great french lavender body wash (and lotion) that's cruelty free and to die for. Also, Avalon organics is good.
Kenra makes favorite heat protectant. To the best of my knowledge, they are cruelty free
Target carries Method, a cruelty free brand of cleaners, that include body wash, shampoo, hand soap, etc.
a lot of people think morphe isn't cruelty free because they're really shady about backing themselves up on how their products are tested :\
Still looking for a good replacement on perfumes
i dont know what happened to me. last week i wanted to shine from the heavens, and lately im like nah lets stay matte.
hey Sarah! I adore you and your vids (across all channels)! I have some cruelty-free (not sure on the vegan status on each, sorry) recommendations for you:
Body wash and hair care at the drug store/whole foods: alba botanica or avalon organics (owned by the same parent co) both brands are affordable and have really nice stuff.
Much love!
