I am someone who struggles with body odor from the age of 12 and I am absolutely self-conscious because of it. To control my body odor, I use stone/salt like deodorant. It works ok on the days I don't sweat. On days I sweat, I definitely need to wash my armpit a few time a day just to get rid of the onion like smell. After watching this video, I gave the cerave cleanser I had in my drawer a try. It was incredible. It worked like magic. My body odor is gone! It was so incredible that I didn't trust my nose and I had to ask my husband to smell my clothes to confirm it. I am so grateful to have stumbled onto this video. Thanks Doc for the tip.
I'm glad it worked for you! I think I have a Cerave Acne skin cleanser with me which I will use after my Benzoyl Peroxide finishes. But I HIGHLY doubt that it will do anything for me b/c other products in the past haven't even though people with body odour SWEAR that this product has changed their life. I also started smelling bad during puberty fyi and absolutely NOTHING seems to prevent it... :(
@@arjetasulejmani I recently tried Benzoyl Peroxide (the first one she suggested) and it felt like a miracle. I applied it as a mask on dry armpits the first time and left it on for 4 minutes washed it off and the smell was completely gone. Now I use it in the shower every morning. I put it as a monthly subscription on Amazon!
@@arjetasulejmani Have you tried showering with dial soap, then use lemon or lime slice for underarms and all over body or glycolic acid .. then use original flavor milk of magnesia. 2 or 3 times of month use Certain Dry after shower at night...then use normal deordorant.
Laundry Tip: Oxi Clean makes an order eliminating powder. You add just a little to your laundry in the washer. I use it about once every 6 months to keep my gym tshirts from accumulating any odor. It's the Oxi Clean Odor Buster (at the store near the laundry detergents).
My management of body odor changed completely when I learnt the difference between the two types of sweat glands and what they excrete in anatomy class in university. Thanks for sharing so eloquently!
@@arjetasulejmani Well, I noticed that some bar soaps like Protex and Irish Spring usually leave a layer of grease on my skin, which bacteria would feed on and produce odour. I now rotate the following body washes: Dove, St. Ives or Ivory. These leave my skin feeling clean. I always use Dove or Ivory brand bar soaps from time to time with good results. If this skin is clean then those bacteria will have nothing to feed on and produce odour as a by-product. Underarm: Arm and Hammer essential deodorant for my very sensitive and reactive underarm areas. It lasts all day without irritating me. Before I used Toms of Maine for about 3 years until it started to loose its effectiveness and lasting power. Vulva: Feminine washes: Summer’s Eve or Monistat with boric acid washes twice daily If I leave home for long hours for work or an event, I’ll touch up at each bathroom visit with the following: Feminine Cleansing cloths and a herbal panty deodorant spray, especially in these hot summers months when I get very sweaty 🥵. When I get home, my underwear smells fresh no matter how much I had sweat. 💫 Wearing cotton panties only. I hope this helps you. 🤗 Please share any tips you may have as well.
When I changed to a whole food plant-based diet I think it changed my skin microbiome and I don't have body odor any more, even when I sweat. That was an unexpected benefit.
Me to, and now the last month started eating meat again and I'm now stinking when sweating, big detox this weekend and back to better eating. Also have noticed that my finger joints feel tight had this before I went vegan to so back to plant based food😊
Definitely big ups for pointing out LAUNDRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve come to realize whenever someone I know has a awkward smell it usually due to infrequent laundry routines
I am someone who has struggled with body odor and sweat since middle school. working at a dermatologist office, I always had access to topical medication and I’ve tried Botox. Botox was helpful, but I still had an odor. I did a procedure called Mira dry about three weeks ago and I can honestly say that the odor and sweat has decreased tremendously. it is a bit pricey however I recommend this procedure 100%. it has changed my life and I no longer have to worry about sweating and having an odor under my armpits.
That is so helpful! This what made my body odor lesser: I drink water 30 minutes or more before and after eating foods. It really does lessen my smelly sweat. I avoid foods that contains gluten, like bread, wheat breads, etc. I avoid artificial sweeteners or foods that contains them as much as possible. I substitute those sweet cravings with fruits, but I also find that I smell more when I eat any sweet foods, including fruits. Lastly, I use magnesium spray on my armpit, before I apply my deo, as well as my body, feet and hair. And I tend to wear tank tops that are not too fit so my armpit and body won't sweat too much, especially I live in a tropical country. Hope this helps everyone.
I love how orgaized this was. I like the chapters and how you made it so easy to fast forward to the topics that apply to my situation. I do not think I have ever seen that before... I watched the whole thing because I was too afraid I would miss something but I like that I was given the option.
Hi, doc. What may also be helpful to viewers, under the topic of bathing, is the WAY to bathe effectively, because not only do you need to bathe daily, you have to do it correctly if you don't want to stink. So, here it is: Use a washcloth, and lather, rinse, and repeat, and if necessary, repeat again. You don't have to scrub your skin like a stubborn frying pan, but you do need to use a washcloth--your hands are NOT sufficient. Also, understand that one pass is NOT sufficient. Wet your skin, apply soap to your washcloth, then apply that soapy cloth to your skin, and rub. Then rinse it all away, and do it again. At that point, you should be clean. Another point of fact, that you usually have less of an issue with body odor, when you don't have an abundance of body hair, especially in the areas that also contain apocrine sweat glands. So, removing underarm hair, and trimming pubic hair, helps ALOT--and that goes for men AND women. And now, I'll give you a bonus tip--many people in the West neglect this aspect of hygiene, but it's pretty important as well. I'm talking about toilet hygiene, i.e. how you clean up after relieving yourself. Alot of people only use toilet paper to wipe (and I've heard, that guys don't even do that much when they pee--they just shake and go😬). So, here's the tip: most people can't afford to install a bidet in their bathroom, but what IS very affordable, is a squeeze bottle with any type of cap on it, that you can keep in your bathroom, and fill with water to rinse yourself off with before wiping. It makes a WORLD of difference, trust me. Not only is your hygiene at its highest level, it makes laundry far easier as well. Skid marks are a dim distant memory!
Funny you said that cos I know someone who does not have a washcloth and just use hands to wash the body. I am not sure how this looks like cos since I was a little girl...
A LOT of people miss the washcloth part. I’ve even seen some claim washcloths are unsanitary, like it’s not possible to allow it to dry properly or just grab a new one every shower. Personally I just use a new washcloth every time I shower! But whether it’s a loofah or cloth everyone does need to use something of that sort. I can’t believe there are people that think hands alone is sufficient 24/7.
I use vinegar in my rinse water for all clothes, towels, sheets, dog bedding etc. It really gets rid of odors and if things sit in the washer too long it doesn’t get mildewy smelling.
Everything changed after I became 'elderly'. I smell totally different and have to deal with it completely opposite than I did before. I'd love to see a video on my situation. I'm still looking for it. This video was helpful though. Thank you Dr.
Wow! I wish I could give you 2 thumbs up! I feel like I have just taken a personal hygeine class. Lots of great information. I have been struggling to help my young teen daughter feel secure about her body odor, and you gave so much helpful information. Thanks for the video❤
I like my daily showers and washing clothes after each wear. No one had ever said I smelled, even on the rare occasions when I skip a couple showers, but it just feels right to me.
I have two general observations if someone is interested. Firstly, recently, I'm trying not to overshower, because on one side, it made my skin damaged and overly dry. I mean of course not showering a few times a day, daily is a must. Although, it's hard when you want to control bodily smell. Secondly, not all tolerate antiperspirants because of the blockage process. It makes bumps and hurts under the armpits in my case.
@@ollieollie1340 I know about this active ingredient. I used it once for my face acne, now I have some problems that don't allow me to use it. I wouldn't tolerate it supposedly. I checked some time ago, but as I remember in my country there isn't any type of b. peroxide body or face wash. If there was, I could see if it works and if I tolerate it. Unfortunately, my skin is extremely sensitive. Thanks for your response.
Everyone thinks I smell, even if I take showers frequently and take care very much -> I ask my family and friends and they say I don’t but I don’t believe them but I don’t smell anything though, but based on people’s reactions to me I smell but I shower daily, wear antiperspirant, wash my clothes I’m so frustrated and depressed
It's okay and you can get through it. You should maybe ask your parents to see a doctor or try natural deodorants. Some deodorants don't work for u so u could try changing deodorant
Thank you, Dr. Ellis! I have an issue when I travel out east in the summer when it's humid and the Dermdoctor Antiperspirant wipes have been wonderful for travel. I will definitely look into the products mentioned. Have a wonderful day!!
I have never in my life smelled so horrible as when I tried Lume. I put it on after showering but the effects were so terrible, I had to shower two hours later. I felt nauseated and disgusted to the point where I felt light headed. Body odor triggers me to the extreme. As per what is done in my country of origin, I shower twice daily and use antiperspirant and will continue doing so. Personal hygiene is so important to me that if it came between paying utilities for water and my current grocery bill, I’d choose water every time and buy less food. I’ve met some people who claim not to use antiperspirant or deodorant, do not wash themselves regularly, and are convinced they do not smell bad. Oh goodness were they wrong 😢
That scares me because another viewer said that Lume was a life-changer for them so having to try things blindly in hopes it will work for you is really intimidating. I might try Lume down the line but I am going for Jason's tea tree deo. for now (since tea tree oil is supposed to help fight body odour...)
Lume is horrible too -it’s a weird smell and I ended going back to normal deodorant and soap. So expensive for yucky product I don’t understand why they say it’s great product for natural products .
I haven’t said it out loud or talk to anyone about it yet but… I am 120% convinced that Lume broke out my under arms. They looked so bad when the rash was active. They still do even tho is just really ugly scars right now. I wish I found out sooner that Lume was The reason why my under arms kept breaking out!!! The scarring and the rash wouldn’t have gotten as bad. The formula is so thick. You have to scrub your arm pits so hard for it to get off in the shower . The thing is my pits only break out when I use products like this I used the Native deodorant and the same thing happened to me. I’m sticking to degree or old spice or just Secret.
Also ladies… what helped me a lot really taking out those body odors was my diet. I made sure I drank protein shakes in the morning with almond milk.. plant based protein powder wish Spanish pineapple or others. I also followed up with that with 2 bottles of water and Kombucha TEA! That tea help so much with vaginal odor.
Very helpful! My son developed a strong body odor when he hit puberty and it's never gone away. He tell me he showers regularly and uses deodorant/antiperspirant but when he visited the other day there was an odor. I truly don't think he notices, but I'm sure others do and I would hate for it to be a problem with friends or co-workers. I wonder if it could be that he doesn't wash his clothes frequently enough, (which wouldn't be too surprising since he's 25.) However, I'm going to purchase several of the items you mentioned and discreetly hand them over, along with a link to this video. Thank you!
@@an7328 You may have misread because it was pretty wordy, sorry! I said it wouldn't be too surprising (that he doesn't wash his clothes enough) because he's 25. The kid is the best son ever, but he'll never win any housekeeping awards! 🙂
@@profesraelise I just want to say that he is so lucky to have someone like you in his life who will be honest and upfront about his odour issue and try to address it with love (and privately!) Being 25 is WAY old enough to know better if you ask me but most often folks can't smell their own odour and maybe he's trying to do some type of escapism because it is hard to come to terms that you do smell bad. I have the exact opposite issue where I am well aware that I have really bad BO (despite practicing good hygiene) but it is others who are supposed to be on my side who won't tell me the truth. I'm talking family, friends and yes, even all the physicians I've seen. They tell me outright "No I don't smell anything" and argue with me when it's SO easy to tell when others can detect your bad smell. Yet I get told I'm imagining things when I open up about how I've seen reactions from all sorts of people I encounter from those on the bus and train I take to get to work to the coworkers at my job. I've already tried the benzoyl peroxide and hasn't helped so far but I'll still keep using that and maybe add the Cerave acne cream wash as a cleanser under my armpits. Why my odour is so strong is a medical mystery but it did start after puberty and doesn't seem to go away no matter what I do. I use Drysol already so my pits don't even sweat...! I know your son and I are different people but if anything works on your son, you can lmk.
I keep a spray bottle of plain isopropyl rubbing alcohol in my desk at work. In a pinch it will kill shoe/foot odor. Under arm odor on clothes or freshen up upholstered office chairs that sometimes get mistaken for body odor. It's cheap, easy and most people assume it is hand sanitizer. Occassionally I may add a citrus, spice or non-floral essential oil to the alchohol (such as amber, balsam, vanilla, frankincense, sandalwood, orange and clove) as an air freshener that doesn't trigger allergies for others. Floral essential oils often trigger allergies ( even if only psychologically). And since most florals or strongly scented and tend to "sour" throughout the day using non-floral essential oils are usually well received.
The only thing about benzoyl peroxide is that even when I rinse my skin really well, my colored towels & clothes are ruined with bleach spots, so get white towels & be careful with your clothes.
Certain Dri is SO GOOD! Fragrance free, liquid roll on, no unnecessary gimmicks or weird botanicals. Just a basic, utility product. I do notice I get irritated skin if I apply it nightly, so I apply it every other night. Boom, done. And it's affordable!
Lume works *amazing*! I haven’t worried about odor since I started using it. I also use Nature’s Miracle (marketed for pet odor and stains) on my clothing before washing to remove any lingering odor (the ones you aren’t aware of until after you put clean clothing on and it’s warmed by your skin). I use it on my bras, the underarm areas of my shirts and the crotch of my workout pants. (Idk if I need it there, but it’s always good to be safe. Lol) As a plus, it removes most stubborn stains.
Great Video Doctor. Lots of great information. I have never had a bad body odor problem. Maybe occasionally when working in the hot weather and sweating but even years ago when I was Landscaping and doing lawn maintenance in 80 to 100 degree heat I never had a underarm body odor. I'm 71 now but a little over 2 years ago I started having a very bad underarm stink..very bad. I switched deodorants but didn't do any good. A year ago I moved here to Oahu and didnt inhave the problem for a few months then it came back. I thought it was my shirts so I washed them real good in vinegar. Still didn't help soni switched antiperspirant to Degree Blue Rush and Certain Dri after reading reviews on them. They seemed to worked for awhile but the stink came back. I'm now using Degree Ultra Clean and Degree Advanced both with Aluminum. So far it's working but it's only been a week. I shower everyday and use a antibacterial soft soap body soap. I will look for the cleansers you recommend and the antiperspirant and see if that helps. Thank you
The PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% has changed my life for the better! A dermatologist recommended it and it’s magic. After decades of smelly BO, I’m cured 💜
@@ppploangonewrong3837 I am still on the hunt for a good one. I always use the clinical strength dove or secret, but they just do not work for me. I tend to sweat a lot so I haven’t found anything to help with that, but after using PanOxyl my sweat doesn’t reek of BO anymore.
@@Ohquelachingado awesome. Try certain DRI for your sweating , it should work . I'm going to try panoxyl again along with antiperspirant , I'm happy to read of your success ☺️
A BIG thing that is missing here is as your estrogen starts reducing in your mid-30s, your BO increases. You may not notice it until your 50s, but the cascade starts in your mid 30s. This is because the testosterone becomes more prominent as your estrogen decreases, and testosterone stinks. (Legit, for real). Get a hormone replacement therapy patch with estrogen to counteract this and the breakdown of many other body parts and processes. Anti-aging is about maintaining health, and yes, healty means beautiful... If you get hormone replacement therapy you put off a lot of deterioration of your body. Hormone replacement therapy helps with your skin and hair, as well as reducing overall stink and flatulence too.
I have adverse reactions to nearly every deodorant and antiperspirant that exists. They cause a rash and actually make me smell significantly worse than if I don’t wear deodorant. When I stopped wearing deodorant I found it very difficult to wash off my BO. I could wash with soap under my arms 3-4 times and still have some stink. One day I tried using a microfiber wash cloth. I discovered I can skip soap altogether most of the time and just use a wet washcloth and it somehow gets rid of the smell in one go. If I really want to avoid some stink for a special occasion, some alum can do the trick, but it’s usually not needed. As long as I actually use a wash cloth (a clean one regularly changed) it keeps me from smelling. I’m not sure why the wash cloth is so effective, maybe you know? It’s been amazing not having to use soap except after gym workouts just to help avoid ringworm/staph exposure.
Question: when you were washing multiple times and it wasn't working, were you using a washcloth, or were you using your hands? Bc if you weren't using a washcloth, that's the explanation: you weren't removing what was causing the odor which, as she just said in the video, is not only the thicker, oilier type of sweat, but the bacteria and skin as well. You need a washcloth to get all of that off. Also, I would recommend going back to using soap, WITH your washcloth, and not only under your armpits, but on the rest of your body as well. And, make sure to lather, rinse, and repeat, just like when you shampoo your hair.
I’ve found that lume helps not fully but also avoid eating like she said onion and garlic or even spicy food. I’ve noticed when I do eat those my pits legit smell like onion or when spicy for a not so pleasant smell. Also recently For clothes I found that using gain odor blaster detergent with splash of Lysol odor eliminator liquid has removed the pit stink off clothes. Hope this helps
I too found I was allergic to deodorant and anti-perspirant. I discovered that a natural product called Alvera works well, and I'm not allergic to it. It's available at some health food stores and Amazon. Perhaps it would be worth a try for you. Thank you for the microfiber cloth idea.

Informative video, thank you. A year ago I finished about a year and half of chemo. I have had zero body order since stating chemo - granted in the beginning I had no hair, so there's that. But it has now grown back. All the women in my support group experience the same. What is is about chemo? Does it disrupt the bacteria?
Hi, Dr. Thank you for your expertise. I find It is difficult to find a commercialise fragrance that is acceptable to my smelling buds and end up buying Eau de toilettes that usually feel too sweet for friends and coworkers around me... Every time I try a new fragrance, it ends up smelling quite acidic on my own skin, so I end up liking and buying very sweet products. I generally feel best using a basic good quality "Dove" or old, traditional brand soap or body lotion and/or deodorant (sometimes, some good coconut, vanilla or apricot lightly scented lotion...). The problem is that the freshness lasts a very short period and soon enough my sweat is not nice. I tend to wipe excess body sweat with wet wipes and mask with deodorant... And if I have Eau de toilette to hand... It saves my day!. People usually tell me that I smell too sweet some days!. 🙄 But I find that it is the only way to last a long shift at work (very physical job as a care assistant and overweight). I suppose that is the way I am... I shower everyday, but I feel it is never often enough!. 🤔 Your video has been really helpful. Thank you so much for your Internet support.
I have been sweating a lot and producing a very distinct smell since I started puberty. Had my washing and clothes washing and deodorant/perspirant routine figured out quite nicely, then my medication changed (I have several chronic health issues and take quite a lot of medication) and my sweat started to smell burnt. Like my usual sweat but someone set it on fire. I went through countless products (leading to my mom having quite a nice drawer full of them because for her everything works) and the only thing that helped was the share deo creme. But to my surprise not only did it stop the smell that stuff works for days. I was too ill to shower or even run a washcloth for 3 days straight and sweat a lot but the areas I applied the deodorant on had not the slightest smell.
I've this similar issue. I live in Bangladesh where I have limited option for antiperspirant hence I've to order from outside. Nothing worked. Can you help me out what should I try ? I tried secret ones . Didn't help .
Thank you for this - I learned a lot! I'm curious if you think it's helpful to pre-treat clothing that has armpit odor, or if certain detergents or detergent ingredients are enough to eliminate bacteria there.
The only thing I have against antiperspirants with aluminum is they seem to irritate my hidradenitis suppurativa EVERY time. So I wear natural deodorant on the daily, and just hope I don’t sweat pretty much, and will break out the anti perspiring for special occasions where I know I’ll be sweating (like weddings with dancing) and just deal with the discomfort. I’ll try adding in the SA lotion and benzoyl peroxide wash (slowly 😊) and see if that helps. Thank you! I hope you and baby are doing well ❤️
I have been cleaning my those parts more with 1. benzoyl peroxide wash every nextday, i tried to use benzoyl peroxide leave-on product but string because i don't thing wash off products work that good. Also 2. use exfoliting moisturizer on all over body. And 3. wear clean clothes. 4. Shaving underarms and trimming private part. 5. Eat less of my jerk foods instead of eating every day eat every next day. You will save some money. That's all.
I eat every stink food ever. I use Bravo Sierra and it literally kills the smell. Diatomaceous earth based and i put it to the 10 day test. No funck. No stench. ❤
I have a question about the co2 laser treatment for acne scaring. I know that one needs more than one treatment, but is there a difference in results if you space out the treatments in a longer time span? Let's say one treatment every 6-12 months rather than a treatment every 4-6 weeks as it is recommended. Would be happy to hear from you. :)
Not sure whether South East Asia is getting hotter, or is my body producing more bacteria, but I do smell myself being stinky more often. Last time when I showered twice a day, shaved and use alcohol swabs to wipe down my armpits, changed clothes daily, and used deodorant, it used to help with my body odour. Right now, doing these steps didn't seems to help as much, such that I can see people walking away from me in the metro. Not that I'm insecure, but just trying to be considerate to their nose...
Love you Dr Sam!!! You’re awesome!! Think I’ll try some of those for body maintenance:) Recomendations for hyperhidrosis on the face? Or are those fine to use? Been taking glycolpyrrolate but sometimes it’s not enough when doing activities. PanOxyl 10% and CeraVe SA cleansing bar for the body has seemed to work so well for body maintaining.
I switched from aluminium to Crystal roll on and it didnt react and it smells better than the other fragrance free, aluminium based roll ons.Thank God! Ditch the Aluminium and parfum and pegs...
I ran out of deodorant a few weeks ago BUT i am using a physical scrub twice a week and wash my armpits with loofah daily but still my armpits start to smell just after a day just because i am not using deodorant now a days and so i came to a conclusion that no matter how much i take care of my armpits i am still gonna need a deodorant
I found that loofas need to be changed out as frequently as your towel does as the bacteria gets stuck in your wet loofa that is probably hanging in your shower rack. I now have antimicrobial or silicon loofas that blocks bacteria from growing on it as the bacteria on the loofa interacting with the skin eating bacteria can cause your ph to be off but also create an environment were bacteria can thrive
I’m very interested to hear that there’s no links between aluminium deodorants and cancers. I had heard lots about it being dangerous and switched to aluminium free, but it doesn’t work the same. I think I’ll go back to aluminium after your advice :)
No deodorant or antiperspirant works for me. I can't use the same every day. I do green juicing, shower twice daily, even add perfume. Had botox done and still have comments being said. I'm convinced it might be cancerous at this point. So frustrated

In my personal opinion the Lume deodorant is not worth it. It’s not worth it for the price point but even if it was cheap I wouldn’t repurchase it. The unscented one has such a bad smell, worse that BO. It does subside after it dries but still lingers around so it completely defeats the purpose of using it in the first place. Also it does not last more than 3 hours max and the “funky” smell comes back when you sweat.

I think I sweat a normal amount, but it has a tendency to smell very strongly under my arms and in the groin area *only.* I assume this is because it is apocrine gland sweat, but what is the reason why this sweat smells so much worse, when my normal sweat smells like nothing at all? 🤔
Can you discuss why old people smell even though they shower? Smelling like dirty hair/laundry is common in seniors, but why? And what can be done about it? (My freinds late Mom said old people smell, I am in my 60s and notice this in my age group now.)
I heard a doctor saying it us caused because as we get older the body does not oxidized as when we were young. It doesn’t sound as what we hear about oxidation but thats what that doctor said. I think that I will use some antioxidants in case of.
Google nonenal odor. It will explain that smell associated with the elderly. You can look for solutions for nonenal odor, such as persimmon soap, etc., and see if you find something that can help. Best of luck to you.

What do u use now?

This what made my body odor lesser:
I drink water 30 minutes or more before and after eating foods.

🤡
Funny you said that cos I know someone who does not have a washcloth and just use hands to wash the body. I am not sure how this looks like cos since I was a little girl...
A LOT of people miss the washcloth part. I’ve even seen some claim washcloths are unsanitary, like it’s not possible to allow it to dry properly or just grab a new one every shower. Personally I just use a new washcloth every time I shower! But whether it’s a loofah or cloth everyone does need to use something of that sort. I can’t believe there are people that think hands alone is sufficient 24/7.
This was SO helpful! Thanks a lot
I use vinegar in my rinse water for all clothes, towels, sheets, dog bedding etc. It really gets rid of odors and if things sit in the washer too long it doesn’t get mildewy smelling.

Lume stinks. Smells like poo. Don’t waste your money
Lume is horrible too -it’s a weird smell and I ended going back to normal deodorant and soap. So expensive for yucky product I don’t understand why they say it’s great product for natural products .
I agree. Lume doesn't work and I am sending it back tomorrow for a refund.
Thank you

Very helpful! My son developed a strong body odor when he hit puberty and it's never gone away. He tell me he showers regularly and uses deodorant/antiperspirant but when he visited the other day there was an odor. I truly don't think he notices, but I'm sure others do and I would hate for it to be a problem with friends or co-workers. I wonder if it could be that he doesn't wash his clothes frequently enough, (which wouldn't be too surprising since he's 25.) However, I'm going to purchase several of the items you mentioned and discreetly hand them over, along with a link to this video. Thank you!

Yes! I found this out the hard way. The bp does work well tho.
Certain Dri is SO GOOD! Fragrance free, liquid roll on, no unnecessary gimmicks or weird botanicals. Just a basic, utility product. I do notice I get irritated skin if I apply it nightly, so I apply it every other night. Boom, done. And it's affordable!
Thanks!

Thank you for the video. really helped me understand everything about my body odor...
Dr. Ellis, You are perfection!!! ❤
I found the ingredient in deodorants that caused a rash was baking soda. Did you notice if that was an ingredient in the ones you tried?
I’ve found that lume helps not fully but also avoid eating like she said onion and garlic or even spicy food. I’ve noticed when I do eat those my pits legit smell like onion or when spicy for a not so pleasant smell.
But I find that it is the only way to last a long shift at work (very physical job as a care assistant and overweight).
I suppose that is the way I am...
I shower everyday, but I feel it is never often enough!. 🤔
Your video has been really helpful.

@@Wjeabruxe thanks
You should try natural deodorants. Apple cider vinegar or baking soda and lemons. And trust me I've been there
And that is just a delicious snack for bacteria, i was almost gonna choke on my tea 😂😂 , I don’t suffer from body odour but I’m enjoying the topic ❤️
I have a family member whose feet reek when he is iron deficient. He can’t smell it. Foot deodorant is a serious social lifesaver. I think we all want to smell good. My hope is that people communicate this information to their loved ones with kindness. Like you would want if it was you.
That's what most people would want but it will never happen trust me I am. going through it now
@@cocosmith6862 I’m so sorry you are going through unkindness. At least if you are ever the one who says hey there is an issue you will be kind.
Glycolic acid is the game changer!!! Never smelled stinky anymore 😅🎉
Thank you so much for this video! I had a dermatologist recommend Hibiclens to use as a wash 1-2 times a week for underarms. What do you think?
That can work as well!
I finally found a cure to Tmau disease with herbal treatment from Dr.Auchi on UA-cam channel the great herbalist doctor who have the best herbal remedies to Tmau disease.. thank you sir once again doctor…
@@DrSamEllis hello Dr Sam this is fahad from Kenya, my brother is also suffering from the same BO and we have tried to use different deodorants they can't even stop the sweating and the smell, lemon juice and apple vinegar also has failed us, what can we use to help my little brother because he is stressed. Hope you can help us with the permanent remedy. Thanks
Please try isopropyl rubbing alcohol after shower. Then use antiperspirant/deodorant next will be a little bit baking soda. Every time your brother sweating let him wash the armpit again then do the same procedure. Isopropyl alcohol, antiperspirant/deodorant then baking soda.
They’ve reformulated and I find the odor is a lot better now! But of course, still not for everyone.
Oh my goodness!! Great video!! Amazing!!😊
I like your fire place. Beautiful trim work. BTW I'll give this recommended product a try.
Great great choice of topic.
Hi Dr Sam, love your informative videos. I have been having botox for my underarms for years now. My problem is I find it does not last like it used to. Am sweating after 2 months of the application as opposed to 5-6 months earlier. Could it be due to my hormones playing up? Please do more of these videos and also watched your post on melasma. What can one do if it’s on the inner thighs and not the face. Again after starting HRT. Please advice.
Amazing info didn’t know a lot of it!
I think I sweat a normal amount, but it has a tendency to smell very strongly under my arms and in the groin area *only.*
I assume this is because it is apocrine gland sweat, but what is the reason why this sweat smells so much worse, when my normal sweat smells like nothing at all? 🤔
U need to scrub ur underarm at least once a week . It is full of death skin and bacteria.
Doesn't benzoyl peroxide wash dry out skin on the body?
thank you very much good information
Thank you so much for this information.
My own line of natural deodorant literally saved me. This was very informative.. thank you
I want to know more about them!
Can you elaborate as for your deodorant's composition please ?
See the name. ↖️
Some people shower every other day? WHAT???? How do you last all day knowing you peed and pooped? Yuck! Also, wearing shoes/sandals can make your feet feel dirty and probably stink too. I can't even imagine 😬 🤦
We use water to clean ourselves after doing our business in the toilet and whenever we come home we wash our face hands and feet.
@@barrybarry343 just take a shower with SOAP AND WATER
Kate… people are nasty. That’s all I can say
@@Keonahawk24 we do take shower everyday, but can't go out all day with something in my butt that's just nasty
I have depression sometimes thats why
I will totally try some of those tips and the video was very well made😊 I have one question tho I thought you're not supposed to use deodorant on your vulva and is the acne cleanser not to strong to use it down there I don't wanna throw off my ph level
I learnt alot of this video thank you so much 😍
Lume not only addresses the body they also have laundry detergent for your clothes with permastink.
I use vinegar in my laundry to avoid odor on my clothing. For me, it works really well.
Eating garlic and onion can cause the body odor to intensify. Keeps mosquitoes away. People as well.
I was trying to find any Benzoyl peroxide product online without success.
Turns out it’s banned on the EU for being considered a potential *cancer* causing agent
Excellent! Some of his info, I never heard. How can that be? Thank you! I will look for benzoyl to wash certain body parts! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. It's a very kind thing to do for humanity - not exaggerating. God bless you.
Very informative video thank you
