One of many great songs that I was instructed to “ turn that down”. Out came the headphones and my extended CORDS to use to walk about the house. What delight, what a song, what a wonderful experience so many many years later with an orchestra….. truly we lived the best musical era back then and now. Love the musicians just jamming along.
I met Ian Anderson briefly in 1972 at Brisbane Festival Hall. I was 17 & had been a big fan of Aqualung since 70/71...never liked THICK AS quite as much. Ian was a dashing lad. We couldn't get a park around the hall...we'd driven from Noosa Heads...we were Sydney kids. Anyway we saw trucks & vans driving in thru' gates at the back so we drove our old British racing green Morris Messenger in with other trucks...gateman waved us through...we parked...it was a DARK night & few lights. We wondered how we'd find the audience entrance. Next thing Ian Anderson ran almost smack bang into me. Ian stepped back & in a style only he could perform did the most graceful bow...one leg extended back behind him & the other bent with one arm behind his back while his other arm doffed his hatless head then he took my hand & kissed it... SWOON... Iam lisenng to LOCAMOTIVE BREATH.as I write this. JETHRO TULL were & are the most amazing band. On stage that night roadies dressed in long sleeved white cover alls lugged amps & mikes etc on stage for 30 minutes...finally tje house lights dimmed & the crowd quieted down awaiting this amazing British band that was HERE...in *%@#£¥ Brisbane!!! Next thing house lights went up & as we watched the 'road crew' stepped out of their overalls & it was Jethro Tull!
They our the best rock and roll band they don't stay together the way this old time rock and roll bands did j tall plays every instrument the flute none has ever played that or as well he is the master of that they should be in rock and roll hall of fame God bless them he's still the one and only I listen to him everyday still I love you JT

@@johnfranczak2185 I know that...did you think because I indulge in a little sentimentality that I need someone like you to point out the bloody obvious? If you had met Ian Anderson one cold dark night you'd probably take photos & tell everyone. I have only memories. Think yourself lucky that I shared them with the likes of you...GET IT?
@@kristineconlan5744 If Ian wants to orchestrate his music, why shouldn't he?. The audience appreciated it and the orchestral players were obviously having a ball. I think it's terrific!
Back again? I love the way musicians in the orchestra get into the groove as if this music was originally designed for a full orchestra. Truly a magical event.
Again it seems more of a perfect metaphor of world affairs now than back when you wrote it. Nonetheless, thank you for those wonderful years and you are never too old to rock and roll baby! Yeah!
There's nothing better than the confluence of orchestral and electric guitar...I don't know why, maybe just the juxtaposition, but it is magically magnificent.
Did I say these texts were from Linda Lee??? I hope you're doing well truly I hope you feel well and I hope you live a long time healthily! Playing that flute that's giving your lungs a tremendous workout!!! Keep going and keep educating and working with those young musicians cuz that is just awesome and the best thing any of us can do me being 63 for the generation s below us!!!!💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💝👍💛💛💛💛
Oh my God you just get better and better Mr i a n! And that Orchestra with Florian o p a h l e and the entire Orchestra it's just the ultimate accompaniment! I have to see you with that Orchestra live when are you coming to Philadelphia? I'll be getting a menstrual tattoo on my right hand and locomotive breasts down my right calf as that song is an inspiration for me and the crap I've been through all my life; God they stolen angel and the train it won't stop going no it just slows down.. extremely well done! You are an excellent classical musician and teacher; promoting this musicians is quite admirable! When and where will you be in Philadelphia with them? I need tickets. Linda
I wasn't done I'm also sending your original videos of locomotive breath which I I'm absolutely AWED bye to the same people who mocked me for appreciating your music 50 years ago because you had long hair and here you are 50 years later working with young musicians doing good still phenomenal and yeah short hair! Absolutely phenomenal! I've been trying to see you forever 50 years! Now I'm sending your videos to certain people showing you now with the orchestra and by the way who is that guy on the guitar with a blonde hair? xoxo?
What's amazing is the vast majority of the musicians playing probably weren't born when Locomotive Breath was released. Grear music never dies
Had to press "LIKE' Because there was no "LOVE" Button !
It's a honor to see Jethro Tull, the last of the great master's still jamming
Ian Anderson is a musical genius.
Always the first song to be played on the jukebox in the sixties ...
I think you mean in the early 70s

I saw Tull in the 70's in Birmingham Alabama. I had no idea that I was experiencing one of the best concerts ever. I have seen most everyone!!!

The music of my youth. It still gives me goose bumps decades later.
Me too...
Even more than before!
Mother Goose bumps--if you know what I mean
His voice got better again... great!
This live is from 2004
The heaven is IAN and the Tull
He looks younger here than some of the other videos I have seen.
Ian doesn't sing with the same power he used to. He takes it alot easier.
Ian Anderson has COPD breathing issues singing and playing is difficult
WOW beautiful job
30 years later he still sounds great.

Spectacular. Love the cellos.
And his guitarist is remindful of some of my kids, I work in the school, and I swear they would rock every chord.
That is sooooo good!
Timeless. Forever to be heard again and again.
Great job by the sound crew. Fantastic sound.
Still the best song ever

Some songs are just better when played the way they were written. This is a testament to that.
