I'm 67 + Jethro Tull was one of the best bands around. Flute still gives me goosebumps. We will never have this kind of music again..genius...
81 years old now, and hearing this takes me back seeing Ian , with the red hair flying as he inundated the world with wonder.
I am 64. I grow up with Ian and Jethro Tull.
One of the purest voices of our generation. A true artist. Take that sniffy doggy!
If you lived in the time of Aqualung and Thick as a Brick then like me you were blessed. Thank you Ian.
They were my first music heroes.. Thanks.
I was blessed to had seen them twice in concert - first during their Thick As A Brick tour and second, during their Passion Play tour, both unforgettable!
Yes thanks for the wonderful music and the wonderful memories!!!!!!!!!!!!
You bet. I was so lucky to see them live twice in Brisbane Australia in the early Seveties with Snot running down my Nose. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎😎😎
I was their a thick as a brick concert in Chicago, excellent!
This man is a legend.
Bellisimo, estoy vivo
Vero!!!
El mejor de los fgupos
The entire group……….
Ian Anderson is one of the most talented musicians to ever walk this earth. Period. The lord of instrumental genius , pure talent
Ian Anderson is as comfortable in an orchestra as he is in his rock band. Talent supreme.
yes
I think most great musicians are. Much like it´s their language, if that makes any sense? I think they listen to music a bit different than most of us. Maybe one small transition means a whole lot to them, that we don´t even notice, but it builds on whatever they played for the last three minutes. I see this also in dance, as a friend of mine is heavily invested in this art. In time, I understand more and more of his view, but it is not native in me, like I can see it in him. It is very much like a natural reaction to whatever someone else does on stage. So I think it is fair to say that proper musicians, or rather all true artists have their own language. Or maybe more languages per art, for all I know. But this is one of the pieces that cements that thought in me. That some people have other eyes or ears then me. Somehow, this all plays out to my benefit, so I will simply lay back and enjoy!
Anderson's fans (incl me) think he's a great musician but what do I know? Wonder what professionally trained members of the orchestra would say about him (anonymously) if asked?
@@rtflonewhat do you think Tull is? Professional as well. Ian is a rare talent. Great performer/songwriter/composer.
@@rickmerritt128 My bad, I meant to say classically trained..
This is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. I really got into it and got a natural high. I've been a Tull fan since the 70s and I'm 63 now and still rocking out to all the rock classics.
I can't agree more. Wow
I'm a floutist.. he's awesome
@@jillhunt4869 Albert Einstein said, 'You can push mathematics to its limits, music has no limits.'
A mesma idade..... bom lembrar e nunca esquecer,....!
Same....still Rockin' out. It will always be a part of us ....and I'm OK with that.
Reliving my teens ..I was 15 years then , today 65 ...what memories of Jethro Tull !!!!
I relate...I was 14 years then, about to turn 61... wonderful memories!!! This arrangement of the orchestra with Ian is incredible!!!
@@schevalirae I was 18 then, now 68. Loved Tull! A true highlight to see them at Chicago Stadium in 72 or 3. Not exactly a theatre venue, but Anderson was so entertaining :)
My favorite musician. There will absolutely never be another Ian Anderson.
So well said.
I don't think there can be.
I’m happy to be 64, because I grew up listening to masterpieces such as this.
So did I. I kept all my music so my children were blessed to grow up listening also.
Passing knowledge forward so to speak
Immer noch und immer wieder, wunderbar!Ich bekomme Gänsehaut vor Freude und Begeisterung!
I´m only 59 years young and fan of Jethro Tull since I was a kid. Thanks for let me travel in time.
This brought tears to my eyes. To have been a young college girl listening to Jethro Tull albums in 1970 was the best! This took me right back in time. It's bittersweet. Ian still sounds amazing.
I believe that the gods of music are pleased....as am I. There is far more to the music of Ian Andersen than melody, timing and classical notation....there is also the mind of the poet... the spirit of the minstrel.. and the soul of the man.
Just in America young and old nothing but the best thank you for the Toe tap
Ah yes. Jethro Tull. One of the greatest bands ever, they never got the props they deserve! Legends.
Absolutely beautiful version of this song. I got emotional listening to this classic played classically. So glad I found this. What a treat it must have been for the orchestra and the music fans in attendance.
Ja mit seiner Musik und anderer bin ich aufgewachsen. Und diese Art von Musik wird es in den nächsten 100Jahren auch noch geben. Weil das einfach echte Musik ist.
"Aqualung my friend".
Absolutely, I'm 63, and Aqualung is my friend since the the first time I heard it !!
good for you!!!!
Where are the legends now when we need Them zo badly...memories ....all we have..Many thanks for the memories.
Thank you Ian and the band. You have given me so much love and joy my dear friend. I have listened lived with your music for 51 years and was inspired to play the last 48 years . Thank you.
Watching the violinists jamming made my day! If your a Tull fan this gives you goosevumps, if your not I am sad for you.
I’m sobbing. Such a wonderful performance of a song that was an anthem of a particularly formative part of my youth. Fabulous.
Ian Anderson has to be one of the most talented musicians of all time.
AND SO SO UNDERRATED. HIS STAGE SHOWS WERE BEYOND BELIEF
Undoubtedly
I love the video a the 5:20 mark where the guys are really getting into it!
Saw them in concert in the early 70s Hampton Virginia it was awesome. I had every 8 track tape the had. Yes I'm old and still love their music.
Late 77 early 78 went to old L.A. Colosium. Got there/in around noon. There was skaters doin halfpipe stuff. Then someone, never knew who. Then Rory Gallagher fallowed by Robin Trower. Then Jethro Tull. One for my memory Hall of Fame. They were fantastic. This is very much what my girl and I experienced. No orchestra back up but you cant convince my memory. Use to hit alot of concerts and festivals. Tull remains at the top of my live music experiences.
I send all my old albums,to my grandson,in Minnesota!27 years old.Boomers rule!! Heeheehaha,IN MUSIC!!MUCH 💕💕💕💕💕💕 IAN..
Breathtaking.
Astounding musicianship
and composing.
Ian Anderson is like no other.
A gift for us all and generations to come.
Absolutely unbelievable.
At 68 years of age, I remember one of my albums was Jethro Tull. I loved it then but it is only now re-listening to these songs I didn't realise how iconic and beautiful they were!
66 and up there with ya.
Being of the same era and still waiting for the next edition of The Saint Cleve Chronicle and its next instalment of the amazing Professor Pangalos 😉
ian and his mates just make your life better endless thanks
What a masterful rendition of the Classic Auqalung! At one point the young men playing violin were listening with joy as the guitar solo was being played! June 17, 2022 67 yoa over halfway through my 68th trip around the sun! Loving Jethro Tull and Ian’s flute more each time I listen! 👍👍❤️❤️
This is such a fabulous arrangement and performance of an absolutely fabulous album! Here's to another 50 years of Aqualung going strong!
Fabuloso, genial Anderson y su flauta virtuosa
Hats off to the music arranger and especially the orchestra. AND NOT FORGETTING THE MAIN MAN.God bless you Mr.Anderson.Truly gifted man.
Love u too
una escucha a esta versión acalla a todas las quejas por el Grammy ¡Metálica en toda su carrera no hizo la cantidad de música que tiene este tema !!!
Ancora conservo il vinilica di più di 50 anni non lo vendo❤😂
This version of Aqualung is a true masterpiece. It takes you on a beautiful wild ride!
This was outstanding I've been a HUGE Ian Anderson fan since 70's Beautiful
I've been "in love" with Jethro Tull since i was 15, in the 70's and I've not lost the emotion that this band can make us feel. Ian Anderson 💕
This makes me miss my youth, in a beautiful way though. What great memories of attending his concerts. It was pure energy.
This song is a masterpiece!
Saw him 3 times at Convention Hall, Asbury Park NJ. In 68 and 69: Greatest
Jertho was the best on a flute, when he played the flute you could hear the words coming from it. Rock on
Just phenomenal! Have the first album and now as a senior citizen I can appreciate this just as much!
We knew good music, when we heard it !!!
@@darlalong1957 Darla, it was the best rock n' roll, jazz and blues from the mid 60's till around 1980! Most of the late 70's new groups continued with great music since then, however it seemed to change a bit with all the newer groups just starting in the early 80's which I didn't care for as much, with exceptions, of course!
I really enjoy that I can appreciate the complexities in good music so much better than when I was in my teens trying to learn to play guitar, I was a naive kid and couldn't pick out the separate instruments in a song, I'm very good at it now, I just needed a little sophistication!
Instead loved this man and his music growing up...I’m 68 now and still love all the heavy metal bands I grew with. I listen to this day
74..same!!
@@darlalong1957 👋😄👍
I’m 67 and still listen. Music was never better
Ditto 68 here.....great music lives forever
Ladies & Gentleman, Jethro freaking Tull!
Long Live Jethro Tull!
A memory of a time when Rock music was written with one’s heart and not under control of execs and today’s music industry’s bullshit.
My kudos to Mr Ian Anderson and the incredible legacy of Jethro Tull !
Non serve... È già nelle note....
Hell yes!
Back when music was art.
you are dam right:)Aqualung my friend
It really isn't like that though anymore. Spotify has millions of artists that run their own labels or work with small labels that make amazing music. Check out neobliviscaris
Das ist noch richtige Musik, bewundernswert! Bekommt man heute fast nur von älteren Bands Es gibt von mir jedenfalls viel Applaus, auch für diese tolle Stimme, so weich und warm trotzdem stark. Vielen Dank dafür!
First time hearing this session! WHAT A SOUND! Not too many musicians do this!
Saw him in concert and he can play that flute excellent throw it up in the middle and come back down and catch it and continue playing and that was back in the '80s
That flute sound !! Goes into my soul 🙏
what a truely wonderful version of a true classic
That... That... I have no words!!!
Mr Anderson Jethro Tull Cup of Tea
Aqualung was one of my favorite concerts of all time. A magical experience. Thank you for expressing and creating such pleasure.
This is an absolutely beautiful piece of music. Great orchestral version
Thanks Ian.. You've changed my life in best... Thank you.
Mesmerising.....🤩!
I loved seeing young people playing with an old master musician Ian Anderson.
It will truly be a said day when we lose Ian Anderson. He was my hero as a kid. I was 12 years old when I started to play the flute, and he was the only man I'd ever heard of who played one. I was mercilessly mocked...even while pointing to this guy's genius on the instrament. I saw Jethro Tull on my 18th birtday in Tallahassee, FL in 1980...the only time I got to see them in concert. It was amazing!
Szkoda, że byłeś wyśmiewany. Otaczała Cię grupa idiotów. Flet to cudowny instrument. Kto tego nie dostrzega, ten jest debilem, I tyle. Pozdrawiam. Wielbicielka Andersona.
I was extremely lucky to see him twice in Brisbane Australia in the Seventies.
Absolutely awesome.
Cheers to you all and Fuck COVID what ever number.
Ray Thomas, The Moody Blues. A bit less...animated, I guess.
Me too 10 embarrassed at some of the wording they used in the album researched it
The fact that Ian can make the flute a solid Rock instrument just blows me away! That's talent and a true accomplishment!
this made me cry. just beautiful.
Tull lulled me to sleep many a nights
Outstanding! I love Jethro Tull!
I love and Anderson myself his music always seem to hit at home. I love the new classical stuff can never get enough of Tull
Tull was unlike any other musician back in the day. His music was like a delicious addiction. We couldn’t get enough…yes, we were blessed.
Laying in hospital waiting for operation Ian your calming my nerves with this timeless music thanks
Wow! Reliving my teens and I'm 66💝
Imagine pitching Jethro Tull to a record company....."Well, the front man isn't much of a singer but he plays a mean flute."
Love me some Jethro Tull. Their music is so original and unique.
Anderson is the best. . I have been his since, I was teenager . I saw your show in Uruguay 3 years ago. This man is a legend. Thank you Ian!!!
Greatest Sound ever....
I’m 72 and I have no idea why I’m still here… the journey has been awesome
This music is the life of the free.👍❤
50yo music..... Better then ever. Thanx Ian
I saw the TourIn Boston. 1980S . It Was GREAT.
What a magnificent time it was when "Aqualung" lp came out, thx Ian.
Emotional!!! The full orchestration was already there when this first came out. You don't have to listen too hard to hear it, it's there... GENIUS
Love Tull love it!!!💋💗💗💗💗💗
Ian Anderson please come to the west coast of the USA... you have fans here who wish to see and hear you live.
Thank you Ian...
When we were kids, we were told this music will never last. 50 years later and that generation were so wrong..
they always are. remember that next time you shame new music.
@@jordaneimer2873 I've never shamed new music. There's never been so much new music to choose from and so easy to find and enjoy...

I have enjoyed Jethro Tull since I was a youngster

Don't have words! Soo much!
😲Non ho parole! Un capolavoro questa versione fusa con l' orchestra! Una sinfonia spettacolare.💎💎💎🎼💖💖💖👏👏👏👏👏
Words can't describe how incredible this is.
I was lucky enough to be there and enjoy this. Still do
Két Zsenit ismerek az életemben Anderson és Török Ádám!
Wow awesomely amazing... Jethro Tull definitely a LEGEND.
Gave me memories from the '70's and chills and tears as friends no longer around to hear this magnificent song with a symphony...
I wish there are still symphonies
Brings me to such appreciative tears.
MAGICAL AS ALWAYS. HUGS AND KISSES😀😀❤❤❤
Jethro Tull my most favorite
TIMELESS
PERFECTION
This dude has more raw talent than classical flute players. He may not be classically trained but he brought the flute to rock and roll, among other things
It probably wasnt an easy feat either
@@813lem There are videos of classical flautists listening to him and being totally blown away.
@@gwine9087 oh yea i bet they are!
Omg... I have to confess i didnt see the whole video when i posted that comment. I just now watched the whole thing and oh my god that wasnt good it was...fantastic, awesome. Beyond words... Words are inadequet. I have goosebumps lol. 😀
That's why I switched from Clarinet to Flute my Jr. Year in High School.
Some of the best music of an era that the newer generation will never get what we had and oh the memories of yesteryear this music 🎵🎶 is amazing
Wish there was more actual music like this nowadays. Glad I lived to hear real music where you actually had to study and learn.
Me too still do
This is the best version of Aqualung since the original...I bought the original album and later the cassette tape when I was a teenager...It changed my life. I memorized the entire lyrics when I was working in the back of a bowling alley in Delaware, instead of doing my homework...It worked out Ok.
Tower like 75.loved it great people just to go back.wow
What is him real name see many get it.
Yes saw you in Las Angeles in 1970s amongst 80 thousand people and then at the Oregon State Fair with my daughter in the early 2000s where you were even better. My friend and I still exchange your videos.
What an incredible arrangement of an incredible song! Well done.
more than welldone
Not what I was expecting. I knew them when they first came out and didn't need orchestration Just themselves and their tremendous talent.
The whole point is Ian wrote the orchestral music. Genius !!!!! He did it for the whole concert! What a version of this song.!!! Fantastic
I haven't played my flute in about 20 years but watching Ian play inspires the hell out of me to want to pick it up and start playing again. He was the reason I wanted to start playing when I was in 8th grade when my uncle was listening to him one day.
Do it ! Please ! Do it for all of us who can't !
Saw Jethro Tull in Washington State in small theater venue way back when. The sound guys took our seating area, so we were escorted to middle front row. How great it was.
This brings me back to when discovered alcohol and da herb 😅..
We'd put on Jethro Tull records etc ...Ian's voice and that iconic flute made for wicked vibes. Thanks mate
Very cool 😎
Magical! The best music for our Soul!!!! Love Ian!
