How is the new Sierra different from the Silverado? Here is our Top 7 differences comparison ua-cam.com/video/zcKSMLqGc9A/v-deo.html
Beautiful trucks and solid reviews as always. This Canadian guy really knows his stuff and has a great presence on screen.
That AT4 is the best looking trim level out of the '19 Silverado/Sierra
Brad Diekow 100% agree
Absolutely but $65k?? Ouch! I know that’s fully loaded but still! These are half ton trucks. My buddy bought his 2015 Denali Diesel for $56k brand new.
Agreed really good looking truck
I definitely agree. GMC was super smart to offer the 6.2. That may allow some Raptor cross-shopping for the power hungry.
Right 👊
AT4 Looks good but even better with the 18” wheels and the Duratracs.
It will also ride better, be better off road, have better traction, cheaper tires, lighter so more wheel hp/torque, better economy and less cleaning.
I had a 2015 GMC SLT, Traded for a 2019 GMC AT4.
The AT4 puts my SLT to shame. Both had the 6.2 but the AT4 has way more power. The quality and comfort are very high. Super quiet ride, cameras are very handy. I thought the multi function gate was a gimmick but i was super wrong. Being able to drop half of it when loading and unloading wood saves your back. The interior is larger and the wireless charger fits my huge phone. USB-C ports charge things faster and there are heated rear seats with vents in the back.
This truck is expensive but id buy one again.
Oh...
The HUD is very handy. I put navigation on it and mute the voice. No one in the cab has to listen to it or watch a map and you can drive around like a boss. Love every part of it but one thing...
To access the engine block heater you need to pop out a section of the cover next to the drivers side fog light. Scary thing to do and it leaves a void there until you pop it back in.
Other than that this truck is just incredible.
Good job GMC.
The Sierra might outsell the Silverado this year
I just might considering how hideous the new silverado is .
Same truck lol
"IF" They were priced the same
HDnayrb the denali is a few thousand more than the high country, not 10-20k
honestly I don't see why they don't just discontinue the silverado, and have lower trim level GMC's as replacement. way I see it no reason for two identical trucks to be sold and cannibalize each other.
The prices of these new Trucks are getting ridiculous.
texasrebeljd Then buy a work truck as a car salesman we sold a base unit Chevy Silverado work truck for $19,999 after discounts
Try buying a V8 car that is not a muscle car for less than $70,000.
@@bighands69 v8 work truck Silverado brand new for $22,999 after factory rebates and dealership upfront discount that are automatically applied on the spot. No negotiation, no special requirements, and no extra paperwork to fill out needed! I'm a car salesman myself. All prices with the definitions of the words discount, rebate, and financing must be disclosed to you up front before you sign at the end. Until you drive it off the lot it's officially 100% yours. You can still back out until you drive it off the lot.
@@OneManOnFire Lmao, but how base was it. 2wd or 4wd? Cab space? Bed length? These prices for trucks are ridiculous and no matter how much you talk about discounts and rebates, and the prices of base trucks, you can't win that argument.
@@mr.mx9421 AC, power windows, back up camera, radio, automatic, v8 for $23k or $20k for the V6, single cab, and 5 feet 7 inch bed. If the price is too much then a 4 cylinder extended cab Colorado stick shift with a 6 foot bed at $14,999 should work with the same features above other than the automatic. If you can't afford that then buy used. If you can't afford that then rent one. If you can't afford that call a friend with a truck. $14,999 for a brand new truck isn't expensive and we sell a bunch of them.
Find it so interesting, less weight, engine changes with fuel management, cooler air intake system, etc....yet hp/trq stays the same as does the epa fuel mileage ratings.
Scott Baker almost like they’re trying to keep it the same lol. Doesn’t make sense.
@@nkyryry Well the AT4 sits higher and has larger tires. Offroad variants on trucks always get worse fuel economy. I have a 2018 Power Wagon and I'm lucky to average 13 MPG lol.
but even the reg not offroad models are unchanged. maybe 1mpg better city. Prob because of the Start/stop
makes you think, if new trucks are improved, but same numbers, doesnt that actually make them worse and needed the changes just to get the same #s as current model?
Not all changes are for power or economy. Some are for emissions. The real question is, does it emit less co2 and greenhouse gases
I'm a Ford guy, but I like this GMC AT4 with the 6.2 liter V-8....very nice!!!
I wish I knew you guys were in Newfoundland! I’ve been following you for years and never thought I’d see TFL here! Great review guys!
That at4 is beast soooo gorgeous I like it better then the Denali the all terrain has always been a sick ride from 2015 and up but that 19 a serious game changer
Daniel Gross the All Terrain Package has been around since 2008.
a_a_ron Yes, it has always been most attractive too. I had a 2010 5.3L All Terrain SLT and traded it for a 2015 6.2L All Terrain SLT. I will get the AT4 if i end up buying a T1.
a_a_ron yeah but it hasnt been very attractive until 2015 when they gave it it's own signature
Daniel Gross It had it’s own look on the gmt900’s too. I had a 2010, it had the Denali side moulding, painted doorhandles and mirrors, an exclusive all terrain grille, two tone black and titanium leather seats, exclusive brushed stainless steel interior trim.
They were overall much nicer looking trucks on the exterior and interior even back from 2007. The K2 generation was a bigger step up and i think it even looks better than the denali.
Steven is a great addition to TFL! Excellent content, presented very well.
I've had a GMC since 2008 and have always liked it looks better than Chevy..
Why?
@@websterslaughter5948 mainly because of the way the front end looks like on the Chevy.. I really don't care for it.. GMC in my opinion outclasses the Chevy..
@@ron593 kool, i think I'm going to make a purchase tomorrow and just getting some final thoughts.
@@websterslaughter5948 👍
I like the look of this truck over the silverado.
Thats a way better front end then the silverado
Ya it does look as bad at all.
Ram is better
And that AT4 grill has "fangs" to scare the Raptor and Rebel when running around the trails.
@@garyblatt8925 raptor no, rebel yes
It looks like a Nissan titan🙈 and the wheel wells look crappy too
Great looking truck, but the 6.2 still requires premium, which no one mentions in these reviews....
Yup one reason I won't buy one
Funny I rented a Denali suv this weekend and it was sputtering and spark knocked like crazy people who filled it up before I got it must have used wrong fuel
A B Only reason im not buying one!
It doesn't require premium any more than the 3.5 Ecoboost. Both engines are "91 octane recommended" engines, but both can run on 87 at the risk of spark knock. Go read the owners manual for both. Plainly explained.
hochhaul Wrong. The 6.2 makes advertised power and fuel economy on 93 octane. The Sierra’s manual on pg 32 specifically states to use that grade fuel, with the option to use 87 with reduced power and economy (just in case 93 is not available, all engines are like this). 93 is still considered a requirement. The Ecoboost is rated at advertised power using 87 octane and the manual states it was designed to use regular on page 181 of the F-150’s manual. It makes no mention of the need to use any higher grade.
Whoa that HUD is new, and pretty damn futuristic did not expect to see that type of tech in a truck so soon
Denali has always looked like its trying too hard to be flashy to me. Always love the All Terrains or in this case the AT4s. Really trying not to get a 19 AT4 6.2L but my 17 all terrain 5.3 is no slouch and i have no problems with it.
I love the Sierra but Ram is better
I agree with you. I am a gm guy but I checked out Nissans pro4x titan and I loved it just as well. I think it's mainly because it's different and there aren't many Titans around. But I'm probably gonna stick with the Sierra.
I have a 15 All Terrain 6.2 dbl cab. Better looking than a Denali. Had a 2010 All Terrain too with the 2 tone leather seats, also pretty compared to that era Denali IMO. Wait for 2020/21 till they get the kinks out.
Love the Canadain videos that guy really is a good fit for the TFL team. Looking for many more to come good job guys.
I just went to the Sierra configuration this morning. I’m in need of a split bench and have no need for a center console. I would also like Navigation as well. To get Nav, it’s tied to a package that requires another package that comes with bucket seats and the console. To stick with the base model with the split bench, no tow package is available for over 10,000 pounds. I’ll stick with choosing the Ram.
I like the look of the Denali with the chrome and dark blue paint. Pretty much my dream truck.
From a Ram guy, that AT4 is bad-ass. I still like the sophistication of the Rebel, but no denying GMC brought it's game on the AT4. Unfortunately, GM forgot all about interiors again. Higher-end truck buyers are demanding the latest in tech, fit/finish/quality, and luxury. Missed opportunity there.
But the AT4 6.2 may make you forget all about it!
I love the look of the new Sierra. It's way better than the Silverado. That you only get the 5.3 with the Trailboss solidifies that
I have to say, I really appreciate GMs dedication to making their trucks more usable to truck buyers. And the only thing the "RAM" guys can say is that the Interior of their truck is more "luxurious". Get out of here, yall were the same ones shouting that trucks makers dont tend to people who actually use their trucks!!
I think this truck is beautiful
Welcome to Newfoundland! I live here and I’ve loved your videos for as long as I can remember! Hope you enjoyed our beautiful province in that awesome truck! Love the hat Andre, you guys getting screeched in?
This thing is gonna look amazing in HD form with the Duramax.
pause @ 7:30....gotta love the Newfoundland town names
The town of Dildo has been around since the 1700's.
I am a Ford owner only but I have to say that 2019 Sierra looks better than F150, Ram or Titan. I wish they would do better job inside. TFL has done great job again!
''Really Steven Squircle?'' combined with that hat caught me off guard haha
Anyone else noticed the fender to engine compartment gap at 1:53? The gap is huge
I saw the heads up display in an LTZ Silverado and thought it looked quite nice.
I love how you have a trailer hooked up to the GMC and it just roasts the tires now thats power.
My next truck...come 2022 😂. I'll never pay that much for a new truck. I purchased my 09 Silverado 1500 LTZ in 2013 with literally every option available at that time for 24k with only 60k miles on it. I've got 150k miles on her now and she still looks and runs brilliantly. I have no doubt it'll get me by until I buy this truck..
Awesome video. You're in my home province of Newfoundland. Bet you guys loved Cape Spear and the amazing views (most easterly point in North America), Harbour Grace with the Kyle ship out in the water. Canadians tend to love the GMC trucks over the Chevy models I believe.
Awesome review guys! Thanks for posting/sharing.
Love the crossover action !!!! Keep up the collabs!!!
Awesome trip out east boys. Glad you took Mr.Truck too!!!
wow, nice as always THX - It would be interresting if you could test a 6.2L Double Cab & compare a 5.3L in the winter time, in Colorado and figure out if the 6.2L has same traction on snow , gravel or wet grass as the 5.3L ..... would be supernice - maybe you make 4 or 5 15 min part shows for towing, mpg, accelerate, traction and overview. THX P.S. maybe you could get all available engine options out together ....?
65,000 for a truck. pure madness.
Good thing they don't tell you the Canadian prices. I'm from Canada, and I just bought a Super Duty that would be $72519 in the US. After tax and I'm just under $113000. 7 year maintenance plan and extended warranty. Were about $10k. Huge price differences lol
Greg Brown That’s how much my 2016 Cummins stickers for 🤷♂️ it’s just the way it is now
I would not pay that kind of money to get that kind of interior
Unfortunately I can't deal with the micro rear seat of the GM HDs crew cabs(rear facing car seats) and the current ram also suffers from short rear seat room. The fact that the ford is 9" longer( 176" wheelbase vs 167" gm, 169" ram) for a crew cab and 8" box. There is a massive amount of difference in the size of these trucks. The gm trucks have changes so little over the last 20 years(dimensions). I can't honestly say I would buy one if it was a high country with $30k off. Also it would need to tow 20800lbs and a GM dually barely egdes it out. I'm not saying it's a bad truck. It's just not ever going to work for me and my needs. I hate the way the gm doors rattle when the close, even on a denali in the showroom I could hear it and would drive me mental. I have a 2016 f150 and the doors still sound like they did new when closing. There are just too many negatives on the list for both the Ram and GM to consider the $80k price tag, for either truck. So I'll stick to what I know, like, and trust. Have a good one.
@@pontiacGXPfan Good thing no one is holding a gun to your head.....
Everyone here saying the Silverado is ugly but it's really grown on me :(. I actually didn't like the GMC or the Silverado but now I'm loving both!
Was going through town and kept hearing a squeaking sound around me and a 2018 Ford f-150 4x4 pulled up beside me and I couldn't believe the noises it was making , my silverado is 18 years old and is very quiet and sound .
Need to offer the SUVs with these packages. gotta love a DENALI!!!
I'm just not impressed. Please understand, I've purchased GM faithfully on accident! My wife and I were reviewing our purchasing over years and we laughed about how many ZL1's, Vettes, and Silverado's I've purchased. I feel that GM has lost a feel for their core customers. I feel like their trying to beat Ford at badging. This used to be and maybe still is the most technological car company ever, now not so much. Great review guys.
That red AT4 with the 6.2l and 18" wheels is sweet. I want one.
Have always been a Chevy guy. Never felt the need to convert to GMC until now. Whoever designed the new body style of the Chevy should be fired. Sierra is a beautiful truck tho.
The Sierra is still ugly but you're spot on with the rest
They want buyers to come to GMC they do it on purpose. It's all buisness
What?! The fancy composite bed they have been bragging about isn't even available! Oh gm.
From the very first time they unveiled it, GM has said that the carbon fiber bed wouldn't be available until 2019.
Takes a while to get tooling/setup for brand new manufacturing. They're just showing what will be available in the near future with this model, just like the 4 cylinder and inline 6 diesel.
I put Goodyear Duratracs on my 2012 1500 when I spotted them on Silverado Midnight editions and GMC All - terrain X trucks. Very little noise. My next truck will be an 2500HD All - terrain X real soon.
Hey TFL, do some truck cap tests, reviews and bed camping conversions A.R.E. Leer etc.
I took a seat in the Chevy version, the seats reminded me of a Yoga Mat, I hope the Luxury version has more cushion cause I can’t see myself driving it for long distance
Great review!
New truck almost 70 grand. I'll buy it 😎 now ill get a second job just to make payments and never drive because ill always be working. Never get in mud, never pull anything and look cool. Sign me up i can't wait. Shiiiiit
I agree with Will Jeff, what is up with the wheel well design? I can't fall in love with this truck because of those wheel wells. I like the looks of the Silverado much better.
The AT4 looks good in white!
Sierra got the Silverado this year no doubt! Really dope.
For some reason I still like the new Ram (Rebel) better, but that GMC tailgate and bed tho.😍
The tailgate is the only feature that would be nice to have on my F150. The rest of the truck just does not do it for me. And Ram is still way ahead of GM as this truck IMO did not catch up with the interior and exterior features of the 2009-2018 model. The old Ram would still a contender in the marketplace.
I see rams broke down daily on the interstate I'll stick to ford.
Sydney Wooton I don't, but I like the Fords as well. Especially the new 5.0 paired with the 10-speed.
@@garyblatt8925 👍🏻
@@garyblatt8925 The only area the Ram is lacking is drivetrain options in my opinion.
The At4 is beautiful and that 6.2 V8 is a beast
Guys, Keep up the great work...BUT could you please start uses a tape measure....Factual dimensions have meaning to the truck buyer/owners. You need to start sharing width measurement between the rear bed post. Also the available width (useable space for the drivers knees) in the driver seating...WIDER is better but no one every post these numbers. Maybe another first only found at TFL???
I’m a GM guy grew up loving it and always will be. Ford is my second choice and dodge is last. I dig the look of the modern f150 look and this Sierra almost looks like the f150 and I can dig that
at4 package looks really good, and its always funny watching him awkwardly sit on the second lower tailgate
Always preferred the GMC over the Chevrolet. Can really tell they put an effort differentiating the two for this gen
Awesome 😃 👍 GMC Sierra Denali review .
😒👎🏼
Cant wait to see a drag race between this 6.2 and the second gen 3.5 ecoboost.
You guys gave a great review
Dude, Message the Look.
They did a hack of a job and the truck is gorgeous all the way around elegant and agressive stance, and it Turns better than a car doing a u-turn unlike the RAM that I own. The wheel well is awesome look as well. BADASS TRUCK all it needed to kill completely is a new center stack screen infotainment thats it. I am definitely trading my RAM and going back to GMC.
All the trucks are looking so damn good these days
I like the look of the exterior of these trucks but ultimately I love the interior of the last gen trucks (especially the GMCs with the brushed aluminum bezels) and it all flowed better and looked like a GM truck. With the prices of these trucks coming out as well I really think that I would personally rather have the last gen truck.
Not a GM fan but that 6.2 is a gem of an engine.
You guys should do a cliffhanger 2.0 test on all the Jeep Trailhawk models to see which one is the most trail worthy. Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade. We all know the Wrangler would dominate all of them
I have a 2019 1500 all-wheel drive y.2 10 speed Denali has a 3.5 inch lift and some 37x10.50R20x9 BFGoodrich tries ride great getting ot regrear to 4.58 gears and a body installed sice they dont have actual lift kits out.
It would be nice if you could get this 6.2L in the 2500!
That grill is so much easier to look at than the chrome version.
Are they gonna put that bed in the Canyon as well and I wouldn't mind a lifted Canyon AT for
The chassis must always remain steel for safety. I wouldn’t buy a car that has an aluminum chassis
New aluminium alloys have meant that they are almost as strong as steel. So they can be great for some Chassis.
Except when you get in a crash and aluminum burns. Plus you need a point for grounding on electrical and aluminum sucks for that.
+slickwillie97
If your car is on fire then aluminum is burning is the least of your worries.
Actually aluminum is safer because they can put in crumple zones at key points take the all the force of impact.
Steel is more durable but any impact force goes into the cabin toward you instead if the chassis.
Shoutout for the correct pronunciation of Newfoundland.
Love the 6.2L in the off-road package truck. Now, would they PLEASE build an off-road Suburban or Yukon XL with the 6.2L? I don’t need the Denali mall-crawler... my wife and I live on 600 acres in the middle of nowhere, and the low clearance of that rig would lead to it getting demolished out here in short order. We need a rig for people hauling that complements our Silverado 2500HD (which has had the front airdam removed, the nose raised about an inch, has the smaller wheels with beefy BFG All-Terrains). The Silverado works a treat when I am trying to get in and out of gnarly places on our mountainous property. The currently available Suburban Z71 still isn’t really off-road enough, and I can’t get it with the 6.2.
Awesome job you guys, i like the truck, just not to thrilled with the price tag, other than that I’ll give it a 4/5.
guys, talk about the transmissions on these trucks and how reliable they are.....
Definitely waiting for GM to get their shit together and offer the 6.2L in Trail Boss. This GMC just doesn’t do it for me personally.
The new RAM is so much better looking inside and out. Trading my 2017 Canyon for one. The Sierra looks smaller but the price isn't.
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL
I agreed with Andre on the interior RAM for sure did a better Job if it comes not missing any window trim moldings or Uconnect that actually works...jeeeez.. GM works flawless with Android and Apple. I live on these trucks
I've got to say I like the styling of the Sierra better the Silverado. The front end especially. The Silverado front end just looks strange to me...especially the Silverado Trailboss. The changes on the Sierra front end though seem a bit more subtle than the dramatic changes on the Silverado. When do the regular cab versions of the new truck come out? I prefer a simpler truck.
I believe the AT4 only comes with 3.23 axle ratio and tows 7100lbs?
What are the payload and towing numbers for an AT4 with a 6.2?
Can I just remind everyone about how GM bashed Ford for years over their step in the tailgate. Now Gm has steps in the Bumper and a tailgate that folds into a step 😂😂 GM always does this, bashes competition for innovations they create than realize people like that so they try to sweep their bashing under the rug so that they can do practically the same thing.
The Bumper step doesn't get hindered by a trailer tongue like Fords useful step
You do realize GM had steps in their bumper back in 2002 with the avalanche.
Just step on the trailer then? Lol
@@Ranger5250
What about the convenience of that same step on the super duty with a gooseneck or fifth wheel hooked up
@@anthonywebber2211 you can't open the multi pro tailgate or whatever it's called with a hitch in place or it will hit.. Another crappy Gm design plus no actual tailgate handle? Another fail in my opinion
The headlights look like the unholy love child of an F150 and taillights from a Honda.... great video. Love Andre and Steve. Where is Nathan?
The Fast Lane Truck What’s the word on towing mirrors for the 2019 Silverado/Sierra?
They are coming at the end of calendar year 2018.
I have 2 older Powerstrokes. An Excursion and an F350. At these prices I will be keeping them.....
So a Crew Cab Z71 LT with a 2 inch lift, 6.2L and choice of far better tire will be roughly $8k cheaper? I would have loved to have seen this with the ZR2 off road package.
Great avaliation!
What the Hell was GM thinking with those fugly wheel wells??!! Ugh.
I like em, sure not round but have a premium look.
I dont like then either, but i remember everyone freaking out when the square ones showed up too lol.
Will they may be fugly and most of the GM wheels are. But since so many people personalize their trucks with custom rims like myself it really isnt a big deal.
My favorite moment @9:37.....
Fyi funniest moment...."...17 mpg if you need something more gas efficient, then maybe Ram or.....F....nevermind." LOL! I know what you wanted to say! I'm glad you didn't, because we need future reviews! But the truth is the truth. The 2.7 and 3.5 are impressive.
GMC may not be best in towing or mpg, but it's definitely the best looking.
They mentioned Rams new interior, but they failed to mention it's new screen freezing, crashing and Ram dealers can't do anything to fix it.
a sensor for tounge weight and tow weight would be great, also payload
!
the chev looks better imo i dont like the fog light surround and i definitely dont like the wheel well .. glad i got the 2018
when you get one can you do a test of the composite bed? like a cinderblock drop test and scratch test?
the gmc looks so much better than the silverado imo, and a bigger engine to boot
Awesome review gentleman. Like the trucks new views the camera looks a little dorky with the cartoon truck in there. Like you said not everybody is going to use their truck to the max so having class-leading is not even in my shopping bag.
Damn that’s a nice truck !! Looks great ! Love the white
This truck is goals. I love this Sierra.
