Hi Tasha, Nice to see a video. I sure hope the silicone dolls last a very long time with proper care. Oscar looks adorable and I think it's wise to clean and wipe him down periodically. Like any piece of art, they can get dust, fingerprints, fluff, etc., on them. No one but me sees my silicone dolls or even know I have them. They simply don't get it.
Personally, I feel the silicones are way overpriced, and feel that over time prices will come down, but for now, I'm willing to pay the asking price because I simply want them. Lol To be honest, they're way out of my price-range, but we give up some things in order to get what we want. Thanks for another great video. It's hot and humid here too, so I get what you're saying about the heat. Enjoy the rest of your summer. I'm hoping to bring my Kent Asleep home soon. I'm really looking forward to him. 😊 ❤
I'm really excited for you to get your Kent home! I love the sculpt so much & of course love CT dolls. I find that when we share the same appreciation for a sculpter/artist, it makes it extra exciting to see one another bring a baby home from that artist!
I would agree with you that I think many silicone dolls are overpriced & that eventually, the prices will go down as more artists are learning to paint & sculpt. They should be expensive as the materials are expensive, but they are inflated rn probably due to the supply & demand. I, too, am still willing to pay for what I want. I can't afford it either & definitely give up other things for myself in order to have them lol but realistically, they are way out of my price range.
I hope they will last a very long time as well! All in all, the joy my dolls bring me I feel is worthwhile. In general, I feel I've gotten my money's worth out of my dolls.
My friends & family have always known me to be a colorful person & one who loves dolls. I think pretty much everyone knows I have them. I, of course, understand why ppl choose to keep their collecting completely private. I think it's wonderful that we have the internet so that we can share with others who do understand & love the same.
I did collect other types of baby dolls before reborns that I had no other collectors to share with. But I find I get a lot more joy out of the hobby having other collectors to share with. Plus sharing about all the clothes & other things baby related that we enjoy shopping for! Lol
