I love Oscar’s outfit. He looks so cute. I also love his crib. Great topic. I remember my journey into the hobby. I must agree with you I remember spending on my first real reborn. I still get the feeling in my belly when I purchase a high end doll. After 11 years I still get the tummy feeling. Lol

My first reborn was probably around 2016, although I've always collected other types of artist dolls and antique baby dolls. My first reborn was a toddler and over $2000 Canadian. I was in shock at the price and it took me forever to pay for her, but like you say we get over it. Once I discovered silicone baby dolls, that was the end of the reborns although I still have a couple favourites, as well as a few kits waiting to be painted. I definitely can't afford these dolls and often think I must be out of my mind, then other times I think, why not?? We only live once and if they give us pleasure why the heck not enjoy them?!! I don't need to explain myself to anyone. Sure, I could use a new couch, I drive a used car, the list goes on, but I find happiness in my dolls so that's all that matters. I'm lucky that I live alone, other than my pets, so I make my own choices. Everyone has their vices, and since I don't drink, smoke, or gamble, that's my justification to myself. They bring me a heck of a lot of joy so that's all that counts. We all have something, and life would be pretty dull if all we did was cook, clean, and pay bills.
Thanks for another interesting video. I love hearing about how you started in the hobby. You definitely have more dolls, clothes, and props than I do, but you give me great ideas for when I want to shop for them. 😊 💕💖

Yeah, the first silicone that I had ordered, I believe, was around $1400 not rooted. I reborn the reborn I got on the second market while waiting for the silicone was around $350
For someone never seeing these kinds of dolls before that was of course an astronomical amount if money for me to spend on dolls! Lol
I used to think the Lee Middleton dolls I payed between $120 & maybe as high as $150 was alot for a doll! I also bought the Adora dolls that ranged around $60 to $100 . I used to consider those expensive collectible dolls!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Omgoah I remember my first couple yrs in the hobby laughing with a collector friend about how I was in desperate need of new bras & running around the house in ratty old slippers , yet buying baby clothes for dolls! Haha
In part that just had to do with how much time I was spending in the hobby that I just didn't make the time to go shop for myself, but still I remember saying that!
I always made sure that nothing changed for my family, I only gave up things for myself. It's funny bc we recently bought a new/used car & jeep. A 2021 jeep & 2018 car. Yet I STILL drive my 2006 Ford explorer. I guess im sentimental & just love my beat up old truck! I'm sure I'll drive it till it stops running! I figure why put ware on a new vehicle when I've got the old one to drive. That's how I think. I raised 4 kids & for a lot of the way it was on a shoe string budged. I learned where to cut corners, buy used, clip coupons shop thrift, yard sales & I have np picking up a lawn chair or whatever that someone put to the curb! That's just kinda part of where I come up with a little extra to shop baby stuff. If I can find myself a good winter jacket at the thrift shop for $5 or whatever heck yeah I'm gonna scoop it up & put that money towards something I want.
I guess it's all about balance & having things in life that makes us happy.
The dolls make me very happy.
Which brings me too, I was responding to your comment on another video & got distracted & lost the whole thing I typed.
I was never happy when I got involved with the "drama" & things none doll related here. I'm so much more happy now that I'm so removed from it all. I feel like I can breath again & spend time on what I truly enjoy. When I see some of what goes on now it looks so ridiculous! With all that's going on in the world to see grown woman going at one another over this garbage is just bizzar. I do agree that i think alot of ppl in the community are just over it & have moved on from certain channels that just repeat the pattern over & over & over. It's always something & it just never seems to ever come to an end.
I learned from my mistakes & in order to not continue to repeat the same mistakes over & over one needs to change their approach. Some ppl will probably never change.
I've learned to mind my own business & not jump on board so quickly with a bunch of new besties. That's what lead to trouble for me over & over.
I just want to enjoy chatting with other collectors enjoying dolls. I never get bored with dolls. I've loved dolls my whole life!

I love talking with other doll collectors too, especially since no one in my family or friends get it. They think it's creepy and bizarre that I even like them. The UA-cam reborn channels have gotten out of hand and it's so ridiculous now that it's best not to even look or comment. People are over it and are finally seeing the true colours of some. Finally!!
Oscar always looks so adorable and you find the nicest clothes. I should have Kent home in another month or two, but haven't got anyone to paint him yet. I'm not rushing it and will probably wait until next year. I have an artist picked, but she's not doing customs. I'm really hoping he's my last. Lol Famous last words!! Hi! I just found you and really like the content I’ve seen from you, which has only been a few videos so far but i’m newer to all of this, actually so new that I don’t even have a baby yet lol I cant afford much and have spent the last few months shopping around, I was thinking about buying a doll off amazon… one of the ones under $100 as that’s all I can really do at this time or I’m thinking of buying a kit and assemble myself that way I can weight it myself and even add magnet to head for bow or even mouth too if need be. But I was actually basically just ridiculed (or at least I felt that way) because on a collector/sellers page that modify dolls w a talk box or whatever u wanna call it and resells them and on a post I had mentioned looking at some dolls on amazon because it’s all i can afford rn but I just really want a baby so bad and I want one SOON! I’m wanting it for therapeutic purposes because I KNOW it would just help me tremendously! But she was kinda nasty about the whole amazon thing and saying that they were knock offs and stolen which yes I’m aware that those are not the expensive real ones but that’s all I can afford! She said that these dolls weren’t supported in the doll community and it really bothered me.
I don’t think I will let it bother me to the point of not buying one because it’s my business what I do and I can’t help my financial situation rn but It has made me not be apart of the community or at least rethink and that sucks because who else would I share them with! It’s literally like being in school where it’s the kids in designer clothes picking at the kids w walmart clothes on!! Like that’s legitimately what it felt like, I’m hoping the whole community isn’t like that and idk maybe you feel the same. I really like your content and will eventually watch all videos but as for her I’ve unsubscribed and unfollowed her on other platforms since She treated me badly. How did you keep from getting scammed because every time I turn around that's all I'm getting is scammed and I really want a full body silicone baby girl with her eyes closed dark hair and drink and wet system but I have been scammed out of a lot of money and I'm on a disability check so now my credit is messed up and I don't want to get scammed anymore but I want a full-body silicone to help me with my medical conditions
