They're the best at making a few mistakes, and instead of fixing them, they reboot the whole universe. Prime Earth has been rebooted a good 7 times in the past 20-ish years.

Even though the tomorrow verse isn’t the best and wasn’t gonna get better, I’m pretty sure the crisis was rushed because it’s going to reboot into the DCU James Gunn era animated universe.
Pretty much James Gunn is trying to make everything connected from games tv shows and movies and animated media.

There’s alot of tomorrowverse problems but my biggest thing and idk how to explain it, it feels so dead. The line delivery in general is pretty flat and then between each line there’s just so much dead air, so much vacuous space with no sound design or music and it doesn’t feel like back and forth dialogue it feels like people in separate rooms reading a list of lines.
Even the way the background character cameos are drawn so static & far apart. It all feels like the world's worst cocktail party.

Exactly. A lot of the lines just come off like I don’t know without any real emotion in them. Not completely robotic, but still not engaging enough. Mix that with the meh storyline delivery and you get this.
this 'trilogy' is one bloated mess. I totally forgot what happened in the first movie, and in this one, they spent so much time in backstory of the psycho pirate but not the Anti-monitor! Why? It could've done without so many scenes. I can't know when DC animation became so boring.
Let's hope part 3 will do it and to be fair psycho pirate backstory is important character on crisis, so it makes sense

If this universe had another 5 years, and released about 2-3 films per-year, I’m sure it would easily be top tier. @@joeker5208 I agree about the writing. The DCAMU was a massive downgrade from the movies before Flashpoint. The tomorrowverse movies are a bit closer to the quality of those original movies, but the universe feels a bit rushed. They skipped a lot of development in between movies, but I like most of the characterizations except John Stewart.
@@dynaguy3 tbf. Although I do like the pre-JL War movies. Let’s be honest here. They were mostly just adaptations. Even the looser-adapted films, still had the same premise of established stories. But things like DKR, All-Star Superman, Superman vs the Elite, Batman: Year One, and Flashpoint are pretty damn close to the original comics. With even the dialogue sometimes being an exact one-to-one with the original stories. That’s not discredit the films by any means, but I don’t think I’m gonna praise someone for literally hitting control-v.
But as for the DCAMU films. Where I feel the tomorrow-verse is underbaked in its relationships and world building. Its character writing is pretty solid to great. With clear characterization and developments for characters, as opposed to the DCAMU, which had very static and surface level depictions of characters. Like Batman has no development or an arc til his fourth film. Flash or either Lanterns had nothing. Wonder Woman didn’t even develop if I remember correctly. And it took til the literal death of Superman for him to have proper characterization of his personality and morals.
I’m guessing the tomorrow-verse is so small given that DC was already undergoing a lot of structure its properties til Gunn was finally decided upon, where he promptly erased everything that was ongoing. Hopefully the next interconnected DC Animated Universe will have not only proper time in the oven, but talented writers and direction
It's kinda crazy how people originally said the CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths was so underwhelming and bad yet here we are 4 years later. Because I have seen tons of people come around and say "Hey CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths wasn't so bad. We were way too harsh on it." With the animated movies along with The Flash movie (because it also has cameos, deals with the multiverse and was supposedly the launching pad for James Gunn DC's universe) it really puts into perspective on how to execute a multiverse destroying story that involves dozens of cameos to pay homage to everything that came before.
To be fair, when it was releasing (CW Crisis) we didn't it could get so much worse. Like, then it was a ceiling and now it's like mid.

To be honest, both adaptations from COIE were awful since they were made by people who don't respect the source material and the characters within it.
I had such high expectations for this and instead took me 3 tries to watch it without falling a sleep

Tomorrowverse is pretty much a grade A mess of a franchise. The animation and design are just so bland. The stories & plot are typical lazy writing at its worst. The characters are wooden & so unlikeable. Is times like this I missed the days when DC animated movies (Pre Flashpoint) were actually good and enjoyable to watch.
I've been a casual fan of DC animation since the original Batman animated series and I can hardly keep up with what's going on because I missed a few movies. I didn't even know about the first Crisis movie until I saw the second one had recently dropped. WB really needs a new marketing team.
This is twice now there have been underwhelming adaptations of DC's greatest crossover story.
Ever listen to the graphic audio version? It’s pretty good, my favorite adaptation of crisis. If you don’t like it I will accept blame for disappointing you a third time.
It's kinda funny, they have Batwing show up for like 2 seconds in the beginning with the Batfamily, and then he's gone for the rest of the movie. At least John Stewart got a badass moment, unlike in the DCAMU where he dies before finishing his GL oath and trying to punch Darkseid. Yeah, he wouldn't beat Darkseid, but you could've let him try.
Crisis on infinite earths is vastly becoming an overused adaption this shouldn't be a universe “endgame” there are plenty of crisis’ that are better to adapt into movies or shows like infinite crisis, final crisis, identity crisis, heroes in crisis. Worldly to Universal threats are just fine when you start to go multiversal you seem to lose the plot very easily.
COIE has its value, though. But it's a functional story, and they still haven't shown how they're going to fulfill those functions: Reboot everything, and go from an infinitude to a unity. The problem is, the writers are somewhat afraid of what that means, and let's be honest: It was only possible in the comics because Marv Wolfman, George Perez, and Jeanette Kahn had no idea the full extent of what they were doing; in fact, one of the big mistakes was letting each team operate independently in deciding what the new world would look like. (So, you get things like Donna Troy's many origins, or two Black Canaries, or everything about Hawkman.)
The Batman disrespect is crazy.
I Genuinely hardly see this version of Batman as the Bat due to his extreme arrogance and lack of awareness.
Instead of seeing the potential in a family, in a sidekick, instead of acknowledging that fostering Dick evidently turned out good, he insults Dick.

And Batman didn’t recruit her, she became Batgirl on her own, Batman couldn’t stop her so *eventually* he equipped her to better ensure her safety.

Plus, she was an adult when Joker shot her.
Dick has never died in main continuity, and the only instances of him almost being killed are when he’s an adult and solo.
Tim has never been killed in main continuity.
In fact he’s considered in verse to be a massive success, and due to Batmans tutelage has become one of the greatest detectives alive.
Damian sacrificed himself.
His death had nothing to do with the fact he was a kid.
Human Trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit.
Batman has made it clear he does what he does to better his children.

Which has been proven to work considering Nightwing in main continuity is considered the best vigilante and leader in Dc, which he credits to Batman.
And make no mistake, he isn’t trafficking these kids, by definition he isn’t, tbh saying so is quite ridiculous and moronic. Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian are legally his kids, and know full well what they’re doing.
And it’s also not Child labor, since child labour is the exploitation of children through any form of work that interferes with their ability to attend regular school, or is mentally, physically, socially and morally harmful.

Sit out missions too dangerous.
Are physically healthy, in better condition than 100% of the real world. He even teaches them healing techniques that allow them to heal exponentially faster.
Mentally strong, with every member of the Family being genus’s with iron clad willpower and ensures they learn to control their physical energy (ki) and emotions.
As for “morally harmful” the Batfamily are some of the most morally righteous heroes in Dc.
What they want isn’t immaterial. These “Kids” are Super-geniuses with a greater control over their minds than any human alive Irl.
I’d argue due to those facts that what they want is more relevant and valid than what any adult with a below 150 iq wants.
And as I said earlier, as has been confirmed, most these characters would’ve became vigilantes with or without Batman.
Batman just provides the proper equipment, training and supervision and ensure they develop properly mentally so they don’t turn out as he did.
Which is proven to work in Dc.
When talking about these kids, conventional concepts, rules and limitations as it pertain to raising these kids are thrown out the window purely due to how capable and competent these characters are.

Honestly Batman has a point about him sending children out to fight crime. Yeah he may not be lonely, but the kids childhood is still a bit messed up with the crime fighting. I mean you would think that Batman would like to push these kids away from crime fighting and the cost of it all.
He tries but half of these kids still try to fight criminals on their own even when batman advises them not to at first

Heck the original comics had the best solution for crisis set up.
Crisis on earth 2, crisis on earth 3, crisis on earth x, earth-A, earth-S, earth-4 Etc.. those crossovers were the set up that made crisis so important.
It’s why the comic was called crisis on infinite earths, because that was only way to conclude such sagas.
Also minor point but I do miss the silver age crime syndicate. They were the bad guys but they understood the importance of keeping the earth at least somewhat stable. It’s why their deaths actually felt tragic. Heck before dying ultraman looks exactly like Superman in terms of spirit and would later be resurrected to stop a Superman worse than he ever was.
I’m relieved in knowing it’s not just me….as someone who may not be familiar with the comics and just watching for entertainment this just feels like unless you’re familiar with COIE you’ll be Stuck or bored with the movie a lot of times..then to start the 2nd film, the narration 1 character while switching to other things happening “maybe” at the same time really confused me….and not to compare a movie to tv series, I’d take X-Men ‘97 Episode(1&2) > JL Crisis(1&2)
My issue is.. it's NOT good. It's like someone took Regular Meatball and Spaghetti, some some Chicken Alfredo, and they said "you guys like these right? well"... *Proceeds to mix them in a big pot* "ok.. have at it!.." then they say "what?! Not really sure about it? ok.. wait till I get the salmon patties mixed in there.. you'll love it!" and we are like "wut?"

Both of these first two films felt like 80% unnecessary filler. There’s zero reason for this to have been split up into 3 movies from just a story standpoint if they had just taken the filler out.
I think they lowkey undersell this line of animated movies once James Gunn signed on and said he was making changes. Once that happened, all these animated Tomorrowverse projects just became place holders til Gunn's regime begins proper. This is why we get the lackluster writing and the inconsistant animation.

The animation is putting me to sleep, I watched a preview on yt and it felt so slow and lifeless. You can feel the terrible budget
I like the way it tied into the rest of the Tomorrowverse by showing where Supergirl was before Legion of Superheroes and the reveal that Psycho Pirate was the one controlling Aquaman in Justice Society WW2. Also revealing that Psycho Pirate was disguised in the Blue Beetle showcase was cool. But as a movie, it wasn’t great and didn’t feel like a complete film. The Batman parts felt unnecessary and it needed a stronger conclusion.
It’s the constant back and forth flashbacks. Wasn’t at all what the trailers were showing. I was expecting our Earth 1 heroes to grow and recruit from other earths into this massive defence.
The Constantine showcase was really good

I’m excited for part 3. Not because I think it’ll be good, but because I heard that it’ll Kevin Conroy’s last performance as the animated Batman one last time.
I’m glad this universe is ending with part 3. Because it really goes back to what you said four weeks ago in the downfall of DC animation too many animated movies are connected to the DC universe instead of being a standalone thing I mean when was the last time we got a solo flash movie after flashpoint Paradox like I just miss having solo DC movies, I mean, yeah sure Jensen Ackles is great as Batman but I just feel like his performance is really flat like he didn’t care. I mean he did but he had no direction which honestly kind of sucks because Jensen Ackles really loves Batman.

i didnt even know the tomorrow verse was a thing until stumbling into a trailer of crisis in infinite earths
It was always planned to be a 10 movie series (including Long Haloween pt1 and 2, that makes crisis part 3 the 10th film). It was meant to be a relatively self-contained and focused series, it wasn't supposed to be a protracted and unending series like how flashpoint went on until they figured it needed a reboot. This was so they could see how a story told that way could work, and if it's more attractive to viewers, given that you don't have to watch 10, 12, 20 movies to be entirely caught up the way you do with a broader universe.
It's also worth noting that they knew something was happening with management when the Tomorrowverse first started getting developed. They knew there would be another reboot, so instead of planning another long continuity, they built something that would begin and end within a set number of stories. They've been pretty open about this since the beginning.
Something that allows bothered me about adaptations of the Crisis on Infinite Earths events is it only focusing on the superheroes. The original comic events included the WWII and western comics were added to the mix and helped out a bit. It was a minor role but it was pretty cool and something no other adaptation has done to my knowledge.
This should've been a one season, twelve episode limited animated series made by the people that did Young Justice.
These days cartoon graphics and movement are disgusting and boring like this cartoon. Compare it to Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Superman/Batman Apokolips 2010, First JLU Crises of Infinite Earth 2010, Wonder Woman 2009, It can never beat them.
2012 is the Last best year cartoons had proper graphics and movement.

COIE makes me miss Snyder. The whole Martha Joke and the Mustache thing is funnier.

We have had 2 adaptations of Crisis, now, in the CW and now this animated movie. And in both instances it always looks like the writers would rather write something else. Part 2 seems a bit more on track, though.

When the second part opens with killing commissioner Gordon and an extended batfamily shows up and Barbera absolutely doesn't have anything to say about it blew my mind, sure, I can make sense of it to a degree, THIS batman was the only one who saw who it was before joker blew up his corpse. THIS batman probably doesn't know Batgirl is his Gordon's daughter because he's our precious loner batman now for whatever reason, even though he could tell Huntress's mom just by looking at her whatever.... Point is, if you are killing off that gordon and not doing anything with it what was the point? It could have been part of the whole message about family and accepting the risks of their insane duty in gotham. I would watch a movie actually focused on this batman having to accept that he's wrong to reject their way but this movie, even as a trilogy is unlikely to do that concept any justice.
The DC Tomorrowverse feels less like a consistent shared universe of movies and more like overly long episodes of a TV show. The weirdest thing about this universe is that Wonder Woman isn’t a founding member of the Earth 1 Justice League. Supposedly she doesn’t even exist, it’s only Earth 2 Wonder Woman in the JSA. The only good movie is Batman: The Long Halloween.

I'm just going out on a limb here and talking about the bat family, it goes without saying the Dick Grayson Robin and Helena Wayne Huntress are from Earth 2, now the Damian Wayne Robin that's a bit more difficult to place because the Earth One Batman has not met Talia yet, so the Damian Wayne is from another Earth as well maybe from before flash fixed the universe i dont know, Barbara Gordon Batgirl was in the crisis comics, I don't remember what her role was...
Part 2 was ESPECIALLY boring and I don't feel anything happened but it was a full feature length movie. Yikes. The only thing I can recall was part 1 when the flash accelerated time to build the towers wih his wife.

as someone thats watched all the dc animated stuff including just watching part 3 today, i this is like god tier content compared to what other offerings there are out there in the last 3 years. I feel like this is overly critical, idk why you want the animated shows to rehash every single character when as a DC fan you already know where they come from so its like pointless exposition anyway

Crisis On Infinite Earths was created almost 40 years ago to clean up the bloated DC comics and to have a unified continuity with a single universe. Since then we had numerous reboots. The Crisis movie disrespected it.

How are they going to do a Crisis and not include the Timmverse in it or other iterations of DC cartoons? They needed to answer those questions before the pen hit the paper.
The stories were kinda dull in the beginning..but by the middle of the movie it got better..Yeah and I hope the Anti Monitor looks like It supposed to look like ..not a shadow demon.
Long halloween and part 1 (just the flash scenes) were the only good things to come out of the tomorrowverse.

I just can't really process what's even happening in these movies with all the time jumping in part 1 and the multiple backstories in part 2. It's really hard to process the actual plot. I wanted to give this a chance after liking the DCAMU so much and being disappointed with how it ended, but it just never captured me and now it's ending in a very jumbled way. It's a shame.
To me, I think the only genuinely great films in the Tomorrowverse have been Superman: Man of Tomorrow and Batman: The Long Halloween (more so Part 1 than Part 2). Otherwise, everything else has been very average or lackluster, and these two parts of Crisis so far have been no different. They definitely should’ve have built up this universe way more before choosing to do “Crisis.” It’s a crucial DC story for a reason, so it just hurts to see them do it this poorly.

I didn’t like the new 52 DC universe at all. My favorite was the Superman Batman public enemies/Batman UTRH/ Superman Batman Apocalypse era of the animated films. when I saw the tommorow verse trailers I didn’t even give them a chance. Good to hear they’re ending it
