It was always about the money, they just lost the talents that made these movies, those in charge change and well you can´t keep up a good record for long all the time.
most of the idiots who ran the marvel animated movies ended up at DC animation, that's basically why the more new ones suck, as the old guard are retiring and dying, the new crowd haven't the talent to save their lives and plus with DIE being forced in all entertainment is doomed....
@NHTube1 that's wild to me personally as some DC villains are some of the most thought provoking I've heard or seen of. Mr.Freeze, Captain Cold and the Joker are three quick ones that comes to mind
Dwayne McDuffie passing away was a huge blow to DC animation. Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett were giving Dwayne more and more responsibilities. Dwayne became the head writer of Justice League and he was writing most of the straight to DVD animated movies. Bruce and Alan were preparing to pass the torch to Dwayne and let him lead DC animation.
Batgirl smashing Batman was beyond cringe and disturbing. It was akin to watching a father sleep with their sons wife after mentoring and teaching everything
They turned Bruce Wayne into a groomer and expected us to be cool with it. Not only is she her apprentice and has been since she was underage, but she was the daughter of his friend and the ex-girlfriend of his son. That's something I expect to watch in Jerry Springer, not batman.
DC’s animated films and shows is what got me into comics in the first place, so it’s sad to see that the quality isn’t what it should be. I’m not sure what WB is doing, but I really hope they get their act together.
WB isn't willing to spend money on animation. And things are not going to get better because Zaslav has cut WB animation by about 50% since he took over.
Trying to stay realistic & grounded I think is where DC fails in every media regard. Once they understand that’s where Marvel has succeeded where they keep failing, I think they may get back on track.
@@Bman32x No i disagree, i think remaining grounded is the way to go. Grounded and realistic is a bit different, grounded is more on theoretical or what ifs.
The early DC animated movies were such big events that they had whole Comic Con panels about them. The announcements got the entire hall of people cheering because they used to be so good. The direct adaptations actually emulated the art styles of the original comic. In two occasions, the original comic writers wrote the movie adaptations: Under the Red Hood and Superman vs the Elite. Bruce Timm’s era of the movies were special. People like Dwayne McDuffie, Alan Burnett, and Stan Berkowitz all helped make the movies what they were. The DC Showcases are actually still around and some of my favorite current DC animation.
That's been one of my major problems recently. They don't even bother trying to adapt the artwork of the era. Long Halloween would've been utterly insane with the style from that book, but instead it was shoehorned into conforming to the Tomorrowverse.
@@a_fine_edition2746 Well, animated Long Halloween also sucks for changing the ending. The original comic’s final few pages is personally one of my biggest “jaw hit the floor” reactions, it caught me off guard completely. The animated movie ruins it by over explaining it and ruining all ambiguity and adding so much unnecessary stuff. It’s like the movie writers were too afraid to let a story exist where Batman and by extension the audience don’t figure everything out.
@@doctordoom85this is the problem with most comic movies now. DC being the worst offender. They have so little faith in the source material that they force the straw man hypothetical “casual fan” feeling for dumbing down the story.
But DC Animation is unmatched, atleast at its peak, you can’t tell me any animated project from Marvel was remotely close to touching Films like Under the Red Hood or Superman vs Elite
@skymanxd6366 personally, Hulk Vs and Planet Hulk are really underrated. They were getting into a groove with their movies before they got shutdown after the Disney buyout. I think James Tucker is great but the DC movies they made under his tenure fell off from how they were under Bruce Timm.
@@skymanxd6366 Are we excluding theatrical? Because both Spider-verse films would be better IMHO. But if we are excluding theatrical, then yeah, those DC Animated films, and quite a few others, beat the shit out of Marvel’s short attempt at straight-to-video animated films. Like, a few were fairly good, but that’s about it.
@@hermos3602I don't understand the idea that it's a competition. My 2 favorite franchises rn are DC and One Piece. Why can't people just enjoy both? That's why I am baffled by people that say stuff like "Western comics are dead! Manga on top! Out with the old!". When did we as fans decide we can't like two things at once?
@@jaegerwhatifs4679 because in recent times western creatives/writes and fans have been fighting each other, with one side calling the other woke and another side calling them sexist, and all kind of phobes. I'm not surprised it has turned out like this. ( not to mention dc has been dropping the ball a lot.)
Let’s not forget that the old DC animated movies had Japanese animation studios working with them such as MOI Animations who were a huge part of the movies as well as the first two seasons of Young Justice. With the departure of MOI as well as their head director Jay Oliva, Warner Bros decided to use their own animation studio and out source their animations across Korea.
I been saying the animation and writing has been terrible for years, with only a few good few films like Batman assault on Arkham. I knew they downgraded their animation budget but I didn’t know they outsourced their past animations, that explains a lot and it’s a shame WB replaced Moi with a subpar company.
DC shouldn't have split the animated universe so much, it just gave too much reason to be stupid about it, if anythng elseworlds shoulda been the only other universe but they just made it stupid like running the death of superman story 2X.... red son woulda been cool if there wasn't so many versions of evil superman lol it's all become a big joke really just like everything else in entertainment!
In my opinion the old DC movies from back in the day had the sauce is because they had people like Lauren Montgomery, Sam Liu , Jay Oliva and Brandon Vietti working on and directing these movies, every since DC movies lost these folks it just gone downhill ever since.
@@samdeepak1991 Lauren Montgomery and Brandon Vietti last directed movies were Batman Under the Red Hood and Justice League Doom which both came out in 2010 and 2012 so these two are definitely not part of DC anymore, Sam Liu last directed movie was Batman Soul of the Dragon which came out in 2021 so he's been gone for a while now and Jay Oliva didn't direct Justice League Apkolips War that was Matt Peters and Christina Sotta
The ending of the dcamu...which could have exploded into something huge if they simply stayed the path that Reign of the Superman was going(spoiler alert, it was headed towards SCW and blackest night). Ending all that for the Tomorrowverse has got to be the biggest disappointment in the history of DC animation.
@@kira-dk2mx The whole path leading up to it would have been amazing to see animated. Zero hour, rebirth, Sinestro corps war in animation gives me chills to think about.
While DC animation isn't as good nowadays as they used to be at their peak, DC animation is still better than the live action DC films. I honestly think that the tomorrowverse films aren't bad at all. They just feel rushed because, apparently, next year, all DC animated content will be connected to the upcoming DCU, which I feel is a bad idea due to limiting DC animation and media to just the DCU prevents room for other good DC stories to form. Hopefully, DC animation won't just be limited to the DCU. Side note: Catwoman was definitely unlikable in the Batman Hush animated movie to the point that Batman was just better off without her.
Anyone else find it odd how the J.L had a problem with Batman's contingencies plans in J.L Doom, even though it was a sequel to Crisis On Two Earths where the literally fought EVIL versions of themselves?
@@a_fine_edition2746 it was intended to be, footage from Two Earths were shown to be the intro for Doom. Really the only thing done with Doom that is different is having the iconic actors of Tim Daly Kevin Conroy Susan Eisenberg Michael Rosenbaum Carl Lumbly Khary Payton and Nathan Fillion return to their roles. It was something of a Showcase DC's Best before the Flashpoint Reunion Feature. It combined the following best qualities. Phil Borassa's artstyle, the Iconic Teen Titans and GL: Emerald Knights actor with Susan, Carl and Michael joining Tim & Kevin once again, on the villain side the JLU guys also reprised and we got to see one of J'onn's villains for once too outside of the Imperium and a formless drone of white filling in the spot of Commander Blanx. That said...they really should have just done a full JLU reunion thing and made it make sense for JLU at that point...like just have a throwaway line about how offscreen Wally rescued Barry one day and Wally decided to take a leave of absence to investigate that Park Girl he likes instead, and have Cyborg say a "well since John's in space right now he asked me to fill in" kinda thing.
Tbh, the Tomorrowverse felt like a speed run like, The 3 films I knew about was Man of tomorrow, the long Halloween pt 1 and 2, and justice society ww2. These 3 films i haven't had the chance to watch but was planning to, then next thing I knew dozens of additional films were made and now we are in a crisis event 🤣🤣
@kingkiryu yep and I think what is worst the fact, I have heard all the other films follow a very similar story line of having a twist villain, idk if that is true or not but that kinda sounds like they gave all the Tomorrowverse films the Disney/Pixar villain treatment 😂😂😂

This is an excellent comparison. The reason why it doesn't make sense is because of the previous XMen '92 series focusing on evolution of Rogue & Remy relationship.
WB fucking up at the finish line seems to be a running gag at this point. I don't hate the tomorrowverse, but the dcamu definitely could have gone on longer. The fights in those movies were fire and I loved the animation style. The tomorrowverse was barely allowed to cook before they're shuttering it for that half-ass cinematic universe that WB thinks Gunn can save.
I mean, I have a lot of faith in Gunn and most of the projects sound promising compared to the DCEU (which did have some highs, but enough major fumbles that it did need a reboot), but you can’t blame him for the tomorrowverse ending. The people behind it said WB gave them only 10 movies to make before it would end with Crisis, so this was already the plan several years prior to making Gunn one of the heads behind the DCU.
Just making so much continuously for so long, especially when the first now long ago were generally the most praised, not really surprising there's at some point some even pretty big decline. And OTOH long break or pretty long break can lead to more ambition.
i've wanted a strange visitor superman movie, a dc 1 million movie if not series, a wonder animated series, wildstorm universe series, the rest of the dakota verse like icon or hardwire, a captain atom movie, a martian manhunter movie, a red lantern ova series that based on the new 52 red lantern, DCeased, a flash animated series and gods and monsters animated series. I'm not asking for too much DC. You have the money. Just do it. I'm literally asking for DC to become profitable. They're literally sitting on a fat ass gold mine.
This is exactly what I was feeling about I don't get excited for DC animation anymore and I was wondering why is that and you did a such a good job explaining things thank you I hope we get the golden days back from DC animation only time will tell
Hey the Super Sons and Batman: The Doom that came to Gotham are great examples of what great animated movies should be and another movie I want to add in is Batman: Gotham by Gaslight
I don't really see any problems with that Catwoman scene in Hush movie. It made sense to me. Catwoman was simply too tired of Batman's uncompromising urge to save every single villain no matter how bad they are. She was even willing to change for the better for Bruce but sadly Bruce would never do the same for her. Also......Man of Tomorrow movie was pretty damn good tbh.
The DCEU failed not bc a lack of 1:1 storylines, it failed bc WB rushed it , kept making changes, admitted to not having a plan but the original guy they hired did. And he wanted MoS2 & the solo Batman movie before BvS. WB wanted BvS , the Trinity, & death of. He delivered and WB botched it. And it’s not the only or last DCEU movie they botched. Greed killed the DCEU. More times playing in theaters gave the fat cats incentive to cut the runtimes down. BvS, SS1, JL. Imagine if Infinity War & Endgame were cut in half and that was how thy were until the directors cuts came out. WB not giving enough money to finish cgi/VFX & being headstrong with the release dates, rewrites, etc. WB sucked ever since Reeves’ 3rd movie. Constant corporate meddling.
There are a few exceptions, the two Keaton Batman films, and the Nolan trilogy. And the first Wonder Woman movie. But otherwise yeah, WB has botched every other film.
Batman/Superman: Public Enemies was a fantastic movie. I've always believed that Batman and Superman work best together as friends. Their powersets and personalities play off very well. Batman and Superman as enemies or mere collegues is quite boring and played out.
I will always Defend the BTAS/Superman the Animated Series/Justice League/Justice League Unlimited/the first 2 seasons of Young Justice as the greatest pieces of Animation DC ever made. But after Marvel's What if series came and despite having average at best writing, the animation legitimately was a major improvement in Western style animation especially when it came to comic book media. Idk what it is But DC legitimately has stayed stagnant for over a 2 decades and havent really made any true drastic leaps when it comes to their animation styles. And dont even get me started on the bad writing on the films that took after the New 52. I swear the new 52 is one of the worst reboots to have struck DC,especially with the media surrounding it forced to adhere to it.
12:19 ive been saying this for years all they had to do is just follow what the animated movies did. Just flesh it out a bit narratively 13:45 Once again i agree. Wonder Woman some of the best fight scenes in the animated universe. Her fight against Doomsday in the Flashpoint animated universe was actually top tier as well as her and Big Barda against the furies in the Supergirl movie with Darkseid. She actually cleans tf up
DC/WB just doesn't care they have been lacking in most regards especially where they dominated animationed movies dropped the ball hard as hell (especially the diverse art styles inspired by the artist to the same artstyle) and let's not talk about games.
I’ve been saying for a while now since the old animated universe ended. I actually enjoyed that universe and thought it was really good. Now I don’t even bother anymore.
3:39 I don’t get why the cartoons can’t be connected but have diffrent art styles. That’s literally how comics works. So why can’t it be done in the cartoons??? I think it’s just laziness more than anything.
Because no one should have to fuc king do homework to watch a movie. just because you have all the time to watch all the cartoons doesn’t mean everyone else does.
@@DarkEclipse23 and yet both B:TAS first 3 seasons are in a different style than it's 4th "TNBA" which was redesigned to look like Superman:TAS and both are connected.
I didn't mind them changing Hush to Riddler in this adaptation...he was behind the whole thing in the comics anyway so it wasn't totally out of left field to just cut out the middle man. Also, Riddler is my favorite character of all time, so...I might be biased. 😆
The gap in animation quality between the older movies and the new ones is abysmal. They lost so much style when they started subcontracting to asian animation studios. Then there's the bad and sometimes terrible writting. I watched all DCAMU and noticed how it went from amazing like Flashpoint Paradox to downright retarded like Apokolypse. And of course the slow wokisation of the franchise. I'm doing all recent movies and then I will watch the full DC Animated Universe which is probably the biggest and best of all theses universes.
This is so funny, that I just posted about how much DC Animation has been lacking lately, and this video popped up in my feed. Are you on any other socials?
Dude That CATWOMAN scene made a 100% sense. I loved it because she pointed out exactly how Insane on the other side Bruce is he's Gandhi to an extreme end, because of his PTSD which he calls "The Code" ~ Batman should get over it at some point, ever since Red Hood movie i stopped liking Batman for this very reason.
I really had no problem with Riddler being Hush. Honestly, better than Hush being absolutely wasted in Arkham Knight AND also "It's definitely NOT Jason Todd" being Jason Todd. I'd rather be surprised, sometimes, if it mostly makes sense. And I think that made enough sense. Would the original story have been better? Maybe. I'm not a huge comic fan, so sometimes just seeing a comic basically animated is pretty cool... but sometimes tweaking things makes them better. Teen Titans does the BEST version of the Judas Contract, imo. I've also seen the movie AND the comic. The show did it best. (Especially since it didn't have the weird sexual relationship between Slade and Terra. I honestly don't remember if it was just maybe implied in the movie or not, so maybe I read into it and misread it... but there wasn't even an implication to misread in the show, and that's way better, imo) (Also, 99% sure I at least saw the Comicstorian Complete Story on the Hush comics... but it honestly didn't stick with me that much. Neither did the movie. So I don't really care if people have a preference for one over the other, either way.) I've also never had a problem with Batman and Batgirl. From what I remember, she seemed to maybe kinda have a crush on him in the series, then it was confirmed in Batman Beyond, then we saw it in TKJ. I get there's an age difference and a lot of people care about that... but for multiple reasons, I don't. 1) Maturity matters more than age to me. Nobody would have a problem with someone who was 1 MILLION years old being with someone 2 million, would they? But 10 & 20 is very different. 20 & 40? Depends on the people. That's where maturity matters. Which basically brings me into 2) She's Barbara freakin' Gordon. Of all the people who could be properly mature enough at 20 to sleep with someone who's 40, she's at the top of the list, imo. And 3) they're fictional characters so it matters a lot less. But also, 4) He didn't force himself on her. He didn't abuse his power or authority or anything. He didn't try to persuade her, with bribery, blackmail, or even honeyed words. False promises of love and commitment. Nothing. She went after him, didn't she? And although we apparently don't fully mature until ~25 due to our brain still like growing and changing and stuff or whatever... technically, at 18 you can sleep with anyone older than you. Be they 20 or 20 billion. You can sign up to fight and die for your country. In other countries you can drink younger than that. (I don't remember how smoking laws changed. Can't remember if it's still 18 for tobacco but 21 for weed or what but whatever) But in DC comics? In GOTHAM? You mature faster. You have to grow up quicker to survive the crime and corruption. And Barbara had a good dad (or 2, kind of)... and was Batgirl for years. If she wanted to sleep with Bruce, and Bruce consented, too... who are we to complain? Hell, I'm not even sure Jim Gordon would complain. I think he'd trust his adult daughter to make her own decisions. And again, they're FICTIONAL. I think people care way too much. But even if this WAS REAL, and TKJ was a documentary or something... why do you care what two consenting adults do? It doesn't affect you, does it? Plus, there's a clip from an interview out there I just saw in a Watchtower Database video the other day where Bruce Timm literally says something along the lines of, "I don't promote this ship. The scene in question is supposed to be a MISTAKE." And I think he said something about the soundtrack indicating that or something? But like, woo, 2 consenting adults made a mistake. Maybe that's why Barbara tells Terry it didn't work out and stuff. She didn't seem to have fond memories of their brief relationship. People make mistakes. Even superheroes. And it's way better writing when they're allowed to make those mistakes and grow from them. I really think people need to pull their heads out of their asses and get over this. Honestly, despite me thinking Wonder Woman is the best love interest Batman has EVER had... Barbara Gordon would probably be the best for Bruce. I just don't think he's great for her. Or pretty much anyone. But I think both Catwoman and WW can handle his flaws really well. Selina clearly isn't the best for him, especially after the failed wedding... but they've always been on again, off again anyway... And Talia literally drugged him and forced herself on him to have a child he never consented to. Like, Barbara is 5 million times better than her. And I don't even hate that ship. I think Batman is actually really good for Talia. Almost to the same extent Barbara would be good for Bruce. But those are basically one way beneficial relationships. Wonder Woman is the only one who might be good for both Bruce and Batman, and have both be good for her, imo. (Although Andrea Beaumont was good for a time... that clearly didn't work out)
Barbara is just way too weird from Batman's perspective imo. That's literally your best bud's kid, which in most continuities you've watched grow up for a while. Not to mention half the time she's your adoptive son's ex-girlfriend. He's way more of a father figure to her than anything else, and I really don't think Gordon would be all that happy that his kid is dating his friend. It would not only feel like a betrayal of trust but it would just be extremely uncomfortable.
You care too much about Batman. What about WW with Superman and more love interests for other superheroes? The current ones, like Lois Lame, are boring.
@@Outlier999 If Superman dates Wonder Woman that becomes even more boring than you feel Lois Lane is. Think about it- if Clark dates Diana...that's the same as saying "only two people with superpowers can date and only because they're super strong". Essentially by shipping Wonder Woman with Superman you are saying Superman should be a "Zod" and that is what Diana wants him to be as well. Superman himself said he's not "a Zod." Lois keeps him humble and human after he leaves the farm to live his own life, Ma and Pa raised him, and he went on to make his own life with Lois...the two became one when they married...after co-parenting that photographer friend of theirs for so long.
Yeah, really don't get the vehemence against Batman/Barbara especially in that like it or not Timm has clearly long tried to have it. Although it did feel weird that Bruce then just completely did silent treatment and it didn't otherwise effect the rest of the movie at all but those are just flaws not some terrible bomb-equivalent.
6:17 I get why there's a lot of hate toward Batman: Hush, the animated movie, but I found myself enjoying the alternate take. I wonder how fans would take it if this version came first. Maybe they'd take it the same.

DC animated adult universe was awesome to me! I don't mind a few tweaks! Just no race swapping or gender swapping! And no villainizing or disrespecting beloved characters! Luckily I didn't feel they did that for the most part! Batman and Robbin was such a cool movie except for Deathstroke being humiliated by Robbin! Deathstroke being humiliated by Batman was awesome though! If they would continue the continuity of that universe, honestly I would be pretty happy!

I wondered what is the opinion of young fellas about these movies. We all grow up with Batman the Animeted Series, Justice League Unlimited and others, but... what about young people who are first introduced to the DC Animated Universe through these films?
The comparison to manga was a little flawed. Anime is used as a direct marketing scheme for the adapted manga in most cases, so it’s imperative that the material is as true to its source as possible to not mislead potential readers. Furthermore, the precedent for story alterations is too vast in western comics to compare to manga and anime. In comics alone, those shock value/surprise story changes will happen whenever a new writer decides to take up the job, so it’s not that jarring or controversial when an adaptation takes liberties.
They also have a tendency to drag things out too far. The Light in Young justice, and Miss Martians whole telepathy thing and overusing her powers. Why the heck couldn't they have ended the Light arc in the 3rd season or please the second season? Because they wanted an excuse to milk the story lines. Easy to bring it back when they run into a hiccup or need to shoehorn an excuse when they have too big a roster and some are missing. Miss Martian's sub-plot with telepathy drove me mad. She brain dead's someone her uncle is actively "interviewing" and NO ONE SPEAKS UP!!!?? Talk about inconsistent writing! Had we not gone over how potentially dangerous she could be in the first season? At least the movies I can view as standalone despite being in the same "verse" so I can give them leeway when they are inconsistent... but honestly this is the reason I stopped reading the comics too. I got tired of watching my fav characters being re-written into generic plots that made no sense for the characters.
It's a shame knowing that studios just don't make animated shows and movies like they used to, and the recent DC animated projects are big examples of this.
The problem with the DCU animated universe is that they rely too much of the trinity. Batman especially. Last time, I checked their plenty of characters that have not been used at all. When was the last if ever their was a solo Firestorm movie or Icon movie? The answer is never either a solo Captain Adam movie. I like Batman as much of the next fan, Batman movies are getting redundant and boring. I want something new and fresh. What is the purpose of having all these characters and don't use them just to collect dust? And don't get me started with the Dakotaverse. The Dakotaverse is treated like a complete afterthought. Fresh new characters are needed for the DC animated universe. Fans would be get excited if there was a Black Adam , or Captain Adam, Firestorm, or Zal Zod animated movies were coming soon. That will show us that DC animated is committed to trying something new, introducing new characters to the new animated universe. Because the old DC trinity is not working anymore. As fans, we have seen that already. Give us something new and different.
They're obsessed with 3 things:

most of the idiots who ran the marvel animated movies ended up at DC animation, that's basically why the more new ones suck, as the old guard are retiring and dying, the new crowd haven't the talent to save their lives and plus with DIE being forced in all entertainment is doomed....
@NHTube1 that's wild to me personally as some DC villains are some of the most thought provoking I've heard or seen of. Mr.Freeze, Captain Cold and the Joker are three quick ones that comes to mind
@@jonathancasais6491 DC has good villains but Doctor Doom and Magneto are the best comic book villains ever made.
Dwayne McDuffie passing away was a huge blow to DC animation. Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett were giving Dwayne more and more responsibilities. Bruce and Alan were preparing to pass the torch to Dwayne and let him lead DC animation.
Would’ve been great
Paul Dini is also a very capable writer that has contributed to great animated DC stories.
Apparently he was in talks to make a theatrical Static movie too after the success of All-Star Superman on dvd 😔 The man was a legend

Marvel villains are better than dc villains
@NHTube1 mhmm it really depends if you look at comics, films or others. It really changes
WB isn't willing to spend money on animation. And things are not going to get better because Zaslav has cut WB animation by about 50% since he took over.
Less unique art styles is so true. Especially in video games where everyone’s shooting for realism.

Trying to stay realistic & grounded I think is where DC fails in every media regard. Once they understand that’s where Marvel has succeeded where they keep failing, I think they may get back on track.

@@a_fine_edition2746agreed totally ruined it for me honestly, it deserved same treatment as killing joke and TDKR with art style 💯
Year One, Under the Red Hood (I badly wanted a sequel or have it be in the Young Justice universe) and Return of the Joker were so damn good.

I'm glad someone is bringing this to light. I still see people saying "DC's animation is unmatched" and sadly that just hasn't been true for years.

While DC animation isn't as good nowadays as they used to be at their peak, DC animation is still better than the live action DC films. I honestly think that the tomorrowverse films aren't bad at all. Hopefully, DC animation won't just be limited to the DCU. Side note: Catwoman was definitely unlikable in the Batman Hush animated movie to the point that Batman was just better off without her.

Surprisingly Xmen 97's is better than most of DC's recent animated movies.
Just making so much continuously for so long, especially when the first now long ago were generally the most praised, not really surprising there's at some point some even pretty big decline. And OTOH long break or pretty long break can lead to more ambition.

The breakup in the comic at least also felt forced.

The gap in animation quality between the older movies and the new ones is abysmal. They lost so much style when they started subcontracting to asian animation studios. I honestly don't remember if it was just maybe implied in the movie or not, so maybe I read into it and misread it... but there wasn't even an implication to misread in the show, and that's way better, imo)
(Also, 99% sure I at least saw the Comicstorian Complete Story on the Hush comics... but it honestly didn't stick with me that much. Neither did the movie. So I don't really care if people have a preference for one over the other, either way.)
I've also never had a problem with Batman and Batgirl.
Everything you said is true people just want something to complain about
Yeah, really don't get the vehemence against Batman/Barbara especially in that like it or not Timm has clearly long tried to have it. Although it did feel weird that Bruce then just completely did silent treatment and it didn't otherwise effect the rest of the movie at all but those are just flaws not some terrible bomb-equivalent.

I THANK GOD FOR THE AD THAT PLAYED AT 6:35
6:17 I get why there's a lot of hate toward Batman: Hush, the animated movie, but I found myself enjoying the alternate take. I wonder how fans would take it if this version came first. Maybe they'd take it the same.
These fans will never be satisfied.
They just want the creators to depict fan favorites instead of appreciating art
Because 98% of the DC animated films are Batman. People are getting tired of just Batman.
I can't see why they can't make shows like the Brave and the Bold with so many heroes and characters 🤦♀️
The only thing that survived is the tomorrowverse animated masterpieces.
Lore of The DOWNFALL of DC Animation momentum 100
Just comparing the writing for the crime syndicate in two earths compared to the ones in the crisis adaptation shows you how much things have gone downhill.
Personally for me I am hoping really hoping that we get back more Dc animated shows and movies like battle of the super sons young justice and of course my adventures of superman.
2:43 this was part of the animated Frank Miller universe
I don't care, I'm watching them anyway
Some of us have standards and would rather not consume garbage.
Take yo standards and shove it my boi
Batman soul dragon and batman tmnt was🔥🔥🔥
I watched some clips of the tomorrowverse crisis on infinite earths... WHY WONT SOMEONE BLINK, LIKE PLEASE BLINK OR SOMETHING, ITS JUST UNNATURAL
The art style looks really bad and the animation looks like invincible levels of stiff and sliding PNG's, idk I grew up on DCAMU and superman Doomsday so I'm more used to charactere blinking
Even Characters in Video Games like Fighting Games at least Blink.
@@hurricane7727 TERRARIA CHARACTERS BLINK, AND TERRARIA IS ENTIRELY MADE OF PIXEL ART WHERE 1 PIXEL IS AN NPCS EYE AND THE OTHER PIXEL IS THE EYE LID LASH WHATEVER
@@blametheghost How come a Animated movie can't do what a Video game can do then? That's weird
@@hurricane7727 idk, animating a 2 pixel eye takes a Min of 7 mouse clicks
Animating a hand drawn image, digital or traditional, takes over 30 Minutes min
13:26 Batman: Your funeral

5. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
6. Batman vs tmnt
7. Superman vs the elite
8. Superman/batman: Apocalypse

10. Green lantern: 1st flight
11. JL: New frontier
12. JL: Flashpoint paradox
I was always suspicious of the New 52 Movies... They were a little too dark and a little too stale for my taste... And then I saw that Clark was Actually About to marry Lois and Death of Superman actually looked and felt like normal again... I was literally about to hit buy on the Amazon Cart...
...And then Hilary Clinton stepped out of the Presidential Limo...
Idk maybe im bias but the tommorow verse had some bangers, the justice society felt so good and even though the superman film had flaws, it felt so genuine with its portrayl of the guy that i cant hate it.
I also really liked the art style, more simple yes but the line work gave it a true "comic book" feel. Tho ive had issues with some projects like the john Stuarts green lantern movie trying to cram such large stories into on film and Warworld (would have been better off having them all share Clarks simulation the entire movie due to it having the mose engaing story beats) I think tommorowverse isnt some black sheep.
I’m enjoying the crisis on infinite earths run. In recent time the long Halloween also stands out as a great film.
The dc film universe was a end of the era between that and the cw dctv shows.
The thing I loved about Justice League unlimited was how it focused on characters I'd never heard of. The series that focused on the main founding members was cool but superman, batman wonder woman et cetera get kind of old. I didn't think I'd like the cg green lantern show but that was pretty good. Really miss teen titans and young justice too. Although I wasnt a big fan of the team members shuffling out.
Hopefully, it can pickup the pace now that X-men 97 got people drooling again. BTAS continued in the comics, so we definitely can do this. It can either go like the suicide squad game, or james gunn's animated series can definitely help.
X-Mem 97 graphics and movement sucks.
X-men 97?? HAHAHA *X-men 97 is disliked on channels like this.*
X-men 97 is also ripped apart for bad art
Most UA-camrs are saying "X-men 97 has woke agenda." And you are on a UA-cam channel that is predominantly negative
@@sumnahlennon5449as an artist I don’t get the bad art complaints. I haven’t actually watched the series but I’ve seen several clips and it looks really good imo especially the fight animation. What aspect of it is bad?
I watched Batman: Under the Red Hood and the original 2000’s Teen Titans back to back and let’s just say I had a very good time.
James Gunn said he would make animated project that connect with the new DCU.
DC Animation has still had some amazing projects in recent years. The DCAMU was mostly very good with Death of Superman & Apokolips war being peak as well as some really fun Teen Titans movies. The Tomorrowverse has Superman Man of Tomorrow & Justice Society WW2 as well as the Long Halloween movies which are all fantastic. My Adventures With Superman & The Harley Quinn show has have been fire. Gotham by Gaslight & Superman Red Son were very well done Elseworlds. Battle of the Super Sons was a fun movie. Crisis on Infinite Earths 1 was a little bit of a letdown but still good. The 2 animated Adam West Batman movies were a blast. Even TTG to the Movies & TTG vs Teen Titans were super fun. DC animation has still had great stuff in recent years just not enough focus put into it or consistency put into it
This has been the case for 10 yrs now. Everytime someone mentions DC animation movies being good, the last good one they can think of was flashpoint
I wondered what is the opinion of young fellas about these movies. We all grow up with Batman the Animeted Series, Justice League Unlimited and others, but... what about young people who are first introduced to the DC Animated Universe through these films?
dc means don't care
And WB means Don't Bother
The comparison to manga was a little flawed. Anime is used as a direct marketing scheme for the adapted manga in most cases, so it’s imperative that the material is as true to its source as possible to not mislead potential readers. Furthermore, the precedent for story alterations is too vast in western comics to compare to manga and anime. In comics alone, those shock value/surprise story changes will happen whenever a new writer decides to take up the job, so it’s not that jarring or controversial when an adaptation takes liberties.
3:03 📸📸 caught you lacking
I popped for when Wonder Woman just casually gave Superwoman an elbow drop.
Why are tou talking so fast?
lol ur typing too fast
Marvel is slowly starting to kick their asses in animation with What If and X-Men 97.
The Miles Morales trilogy is all Marvel needs to dominate DC. DC has never made anything at that level.
The animation style in general took a major hit. Doesn’t make sense how a movie 12 years ago looks better than one now
teen titans go is peak media that show is so wack that you cant help but enjoy it
