As obvious as changes like styling or powertrains are for new trucks, the 2023 Ford Super Duty has another ace up its sleeve for working folks. The Ford Pro Upfit Integration System aims to make it easier for fleets to add accessories to the truck, and Andre covers how it all works at the 2023 Work Truck Show!

When you have a problem, rest assured Ford will blame the upfitter. Upfitter will blame Ford and it will probably never get fixed.
You could already do this with older trucks just as easily and not have to pay 50k for a single truck
Ha, try 65-70k.
Yep, that was my thought as well. For every integrated "solution" mentioned here, it has already been done by after market components for tens of thousands less. But that is the story for everything.
@@willcultra3268 I forgot about markups
@@willcultra3268 I was gonna say 80+ lol
You mean $60,000
GM has a snow plow edition also it's something you have to ask dealer about though.
Also I would rather have plain ol' switches.
This seems like this would make fleets more efficient and therefore work more efficient. But what does it cost.
I get the idea, but as a guy who does this work a lot I don’t see the appeal. Maybe the spreader function for variable speed but the plow please don’t meet with lol. Operators need to keep the control there. Backdragging etc….
Mr. Plow, that's my name. That name again is Mr. Plow
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE ✌️.... THANKS ANDRE .....HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY EVERYONE
When do you think you may be test driving a 6.7 HO Super Duty
Do any of the big 3 offer a pto anymore 🤔? My dad had a 1978 Chevy 30 with a pto and hydraulic pump. He ran some of our farm equipment with it.
All 3 of them do.
Yup, cool technology. Only problem is Ford just can not get their act together to produce super duty trucks. Friend of mine ordered a King Ranch Oct 2021. He is still waiting for it. I tried to place an order for a 23 Lariet and was told I only had a 20% chance of it being built and no guarantee that it would come in with the options. The dealer said your more likely to get a XL or STX. No thanks when I can find GM to my liking on the lots. Keep it up Ford your loosing me as a customer.
Interesting, I placed my order on 3-11-23 and it was delivered on 4-25-23
@achilles6312 Just curious as to which package you ordered.
Wow, supa progammed cuz the simple on/off switch didn't cost enough for 100 years, I mean work enough, I mean, uh....
If it’s simple they can’t poor piss out of a boot
Have had my Superduty ordered since October for Job #1 build. Have had 3 emails from ford telling me they can’t build my truck. At least they gave me $2000 off for the inconvenience.
Similar to the farmer running is half million dollar John Deere and quarter million dollar planter in the field. Turning off on turns and shutting off certain rows on point rows. Adjusting fertilizer on the go.
Andrey: I'm pretty sure those are all "Pickup Trucks"
Looks way better with the snow plow in the front, now I can look at less of that ugly grill
I’ll stick to staying in control & using my plow controller to maneuver my plow myself ! No thanks!
The talent staff at Ferd is super enthusiastic!
Does that fancy touchscreen work when you've got big thick gloves on? Otherwise plow drivers are gonna just use their old school buttons.
They do make touch screen compatible work gloves for this purpose.
Normally I don't plow show with gloves on
😂 “fancy “
It's snowplow for 15 years. Only once did I plow a storm wearing. Plow truck was overheating had to take the thermostat. Truck were not warm up to temperature so no heat. That was once out of 1500 snow storms. So no I would not worry about wearing gloves in using a touch screen. 😆
Exactly, I usually don’t even wear a coat while plowing, normally just a short sleeve shirt
More buttons!
does a snowplow need 4 door supercab?
Imo, best plow setup is a regular cab short bed.
@@paulbenderavich3833 I'm not sure any HD truck has had a RC short bed setup, at least as far back as I can remember.
Need, no, but many utilize their pickups differently during seasonal changes.
@@ALMX5DP true. I should have been specific in saying 1/2 ton.
@@paulbenderavich3833 No one should ever be plowing with 1/2 ton truck.
Clean your camera lens
A quick glance at local prices shows they want $95,000 for a 2023 F-350 Super Duty and they seem to depreciate about $10,000 a year in the first few years. That's too rich for a working person's personal vehicle so I suppose they're all written off as a business expense.
So they added a button to the touch screen. Big deal
I feel sorry for that new F-350 being relagate to plowing snow and spreading salt. Wouldn't want to be the next owner 🤣 I like that you're showcasing the capabilities Ford has been building into it's trucks, but I hate the trend towards everything being in a touch screen.
Why, why do we need all this technology just to go plow snow, and do ice control?
Why not just provide the buyer with simple ( effective ) mounting points for the aftermarket equipment and wiring?
Want to bet that I can get my 1977 GMC hooked up to it's plow and go clear a lot, faster and better than a person with this 'whoop de do' electronic vehicle?
Then, if and when somethings needs to be repaired on the job, I can get my plow truck back up on the job easier and far less costly than one of these new trucks.
No I am NOT against advanced engineering, but it just seems ( to me ) that manufacturers have run out of ideas of how to sell vehicles, so they are buying and using mostly 'offshore' electronic technology to try to make their products more interesting to future buyers. Tell me honestly, wo wouldn't want to go to a dealer and pick out a vehicle they want which is built with simple and
efficient products like they offered before . Having to connect aftermarket equipment to a vehicle today requires a specialist employed by the dealer. No more just being able to go buy a snow plow
( or whatever you want ) and bolt it correctly to the truck then run the wires, test it, and go do the job. Heck, I can't even connect a simple set of driving lights to my car today!
Who wouldn't want to to just be able to go out and buy a pre-electronic Dodge Power Wagon, ( et al ) and go have fun!
But alas, without being forced to spend all that extra money for a vehicle, we would be able to hire a 'robot' like Connor there, who can't smile and doesn't even know Andre's name
This option isn’t that expensive. The capabilities have been there for a while now, this just makes it much easier to integrate it. The lights are handy when you don’t have to turn them on and they are automatic when you open, close the doors. You can even open the door the lights come on, stay on when you close it and shut off when you choose. It’s almost infinitely selectable vs a single use switch. Try adding 4 pages at 8 switches of pages,,,, 32 switches into the interior and make it any less complicated,,,,. 😂😂. It’s a nightmare and before long, the switch box you install becomes a PIA due too dust and grime getting into each mechanical switch.
There’s trade off of course, but sometimes change is good! Maybe they won’t go driving down the highway with the boom still extended like you see on some videos. Or the goofs that don’t lower their dump box on a gravel truck and do a few hundred thousand $$ in damage to the truck & overhead structure they damage or destroy. Gotta look at the bigger picture. I’m a grumpy old bigger that prefers a 67 C10 to a 2023 Silverado as a daily driver, but when I’m working, or have a crew, I want simplest safest systems possible so (hopefully) no one gets hurt. I have used those old switch boxes,,, they are simple, but stupid so mistakes can be made. I have bought used trucks with them already installed and replaced them because they were worn out as well. Soft touch doesn’t wear out. Its all sealed as well. No actual moving parts in the switch.
@@shitloveaduck Then there's an opinion too, that I can understand, so from one grumpy old bugger to another, Cheers!
@@regsparkes6507 - I like the old stuff, but when I was still working, the new stuff was pretty nice!! Hope your day is going well, Eh!
@@shitloveaduck Yes, nearly time for a good night's rest. Thanks!
I can agree with you. My old 3/4 ton Chevy plows just fine without all the fancy tech.
Fancy plow machine
No thanks. Give me a set up upfitter switches and I will take care of the rest.
I shouldn’t need to dig through my center screen to simply do what a switch flip does.
More labor time for installation and programming as well as another point of failure.
The only HD made in the USA
Interesting, but not NEW.
Came here to read comments from whiners and poor people- was not disappointed.
these bozos think somehow theyre the target audience 😂,theyre so unhappy with lifw that they come on here to spew their venom 😂
Are you guys at TFL really reaching this hard for content? 🙄 A snow plow package on a pickup. Yawn. Most people buy old trucks for that.
Most business run newer kit. This is definitely cool tech. I can see government and upper businesses running this kit who have the funds.
@@SyrupCanuck yup bigger companies and government entities like newer with the factory support and parts in the event they need maintenance. This also helps smaller businesses and privateers as they often pick up the used inventory at a big discount a handful of years later.
this not reaching at all, they provide content for us for basically free and yet you shame them?
