You can stress test with ease.. there are breakers in the system that can be reset.. I have a 2022 F-150 with pro power on board with a 7.2 KWH generator.. nice video.. very informative!
Thank you for the video. A google search took me to the Ford Manual that indicated that Pro Power On-Board can be used while the vehicle is in motion. All outlets share the 2,000 watts. And your video provided clarity that that means the outlets inside the vehicle & in the box. A bit disappointing - total wattage... I pick up my new truck this week and will confirm shortly.
Yes they do. I wasn't clear on that. Generator mode will enable 2k throughout. I have been meaning to stress test it with my camper also of that's useful.
I don’t think 2000 watts is disappointing. Almost any hand tool can be operated. You wouldn’t be able to hook up a Lincoln 150Amp welder, not what it’s designed for. If you can imagine the cost of a 7,500W generator/inverter set up… Expensive! Also you would need the space to put it in your ‘truck’. And y’all are already complaining about the cost of the truck. If you need more power buy a lithium powered generator, Echo Flow makes a great little unit, but they are large and won’t fit behind or under your back seat.
Have been unable to get the app to see usage etc. Even contacted 3 dealers and Ford customer service who said there's no app for pro power management? I have a new 2023 with 7.2 kw pro power. My front interior plug doesn't work. No one can answer?
Can you use the generator mode while driving? I can see myself using it to charge an ecoflow or Bluetti solar generator while driving. And have the solar generator powering my dometic coolers so when I turn off the truck the coolers can run off the solar generator for a few days and when I’m back driving to a different stop I can charge back up the solar generator for the next location. The solar generator pull about 800-1200 watts
Not certain, but I think you can only use the cabin outlets while driving - i.e. bed outlets disabled when in motion. Can anyone clarify that by model year?
While this was about onboard, I have a different question. With that camper package how rough do you find the ride when you're not pulling. I am in mid build on an upgrade from my 2012, but debating that camper package because I drive more without than with and I want a smoother ride than my 2012 gives not pulling with that camper package. Do you have any thoughts on the ride with and without?
I'd like to see under the back seats.
@FlyingCircusAct on my 2023 it's a folding box with dividers that can be set up in collapsed almost flat. Mine is currently full or id send Pic. Lol

Thank you! It would be real nice to have 7.2kW, but I'll take the 2 over nothing.
Thanks for watching!

I'm here with the same issue looking for answers.
@@emooner Got my front plug issue resolved, cracked outlet, but the app issue remains.
😄👍Good To Know, Great Tips
Thanks for watching!
Does it work while driving? The 2k in the back
@@brianconsidine5807 yes it should
Good video. Thanks.
Glad you liked it! Like and subscribe 😉

@@campingeast nice brother. Thanks for the response

Can you use pro power onboard with the truck off? Say im tailgating and wanna use my tv ?
No. The truck has to be on and in high idle.

I'm kind of late to this response but....my 21 rode rougher and it didn't have a camper package.
What is your payload in this truck?
#3400
Cool
I’d like to see under the hood apparently they have 3 alternators total x12v and x1 24v for the pro power
Only one alternator on mine. There is a 2 alternator option but nothing to do with PPOB option.
How long does the engine stay running idle during generator mode?
Interesting question. There is an idle timer of 15 minutes, and I think it shuts down unless you acknowledge it. There is a way to disable it though.
Can u run it on the bed... for electric cooler
You should be able to.
and you did all that with the generator off? it was at least not selected.
The generator had to be on for the bed outlets to work.
The plug in the bed has a Pro Power On-Board on/off switch
I never heard of batteries under the seat..
