Thank you!! I’ve had neck pain for a long time. So happy I found your video. I am starting the exercises that you shared in this video and I could feel a difference right away. 🙃 I currently wear a soft neck collar to help relieve the daily pain. I’m hoping that after completing the stretching exercises I will see a difference in my pain. Thank you again.

When you get whiplash, you not only can get tears in the MUSCLE like you guys are saying, but also, even more importantly, in the LIGAMENTS. I had this happen from 2 T-bone accidents and had PRP injections in my neck to restore the ligament tissue damage that developed over time.
Bob and Brad should talk about PRP at some point. It really changed my life for the better!
One of the places that puts out the most videos about prolotherapy and PRP is Caring Medical channel on UA-cam. Lots of success stories there. I didn't use them but a similar place near me called Rejuv.

I had whiplash from where this 16 year old girl rear ended me. I could deal with the whiplash. I could also deal with a pulled tooth. Didn't need pain killers. But somehow this neck pain just about drives me crazy. It was somewhat intermittent. Like I say my neck would get in a 90 degree angle with my lower body. Where I'd flatten out my pillow and I'd wake up and be back where I was. My keg often dud the same thing where it's like I slept on it wrong. Seems to be a muscle thing.

As part of my job, looking at the laptop makes my back neck hurt because head is already slightly bended down and forward for minutes even when I sleep. It relieves when my head straight back . However, it is difficult for me to keep the posture until I feel the pain. I was thinking to use simple neck brace just to keep my head and neck straight all the time, is that okay?

I'm sitting at my desk right now with a soft collar. I'm currently in chiropractic care for my entire body. He said I shouldn't for my neck. My body says I should. I work 10 hrs days sitting at my desk, posture is forgotten about very easily. It's been two weeks wearing it, and my neck agrees. I only wear when sitting at my desk. Well, Sleeping in it is nice when I need to.

I have chronic whiplash and my physio constantly tried to force me to do the exercises through sharp pain. When traveling the only thing that really helps the pain is a hard collar even though it’s a very old injury. It’s too unbearable to do otherwise.

Years after a severe whiplash, from an attack not a car accident, which I thought I was pretty much recovered from, I took the autotrain from Lorton, VA to Sanford, FL. Painful, very painful. I admit I didn't expect to have any trouble so I was surprised. Fortunately I was in Florida long enough for my neck to recover. A relative in Florida gave me a soft collar neck brace she wasn't using anymore & my trip home on the autotrain didn't cause me any trouble. It's amazing how the train's little wobble wobble can affect a neck. 😉

It also depends if after this how do you move your neck and its posture (I have forward neck). For example, when I started therapy since I had cervical spondylosis, after it being stretched and strengthened, there would still be instances it would hurt because I really have bad neck, shoulders, and back postures. This caused my muscles to be tense and more painful and sensitive. Plus, my head is very heavy and bigger compared to other people. They told me to use neck pillows, didn't work. I opted to use neck braces, of course with the permission of my doctor.
I was told to use soft neck braces since mine isn't as bad as others and to not be overly dependent on the neck brace.
After this, I've been watching out for my posture. I actually became sensitive at that time, I felt it whenever the muscles keeping my neck, shoulders, and back were tense so I make sure to have breaks in between work where I either rest in bed or I warm them up and release them.
But again, it was because my neck has been released, it become sensitive. I felt the tension of my muscles all the more. Probably because I became aware of what they were doing to me.
BUT there was an instance, and this may have happened to you, where I literally overstretched that it hurt like hell. Then again, it could just be me hahahahaha

disclaimer, I am not a physical therapist. this is my personal preference, please ask your doctor before doing any of my recommendations.
      1. the soft neck brace. wear it while working or even while sleeping. of course some people will give you looks, if u do it. but neck safety over people's judgement. i actually have better sleep with my soft neck brace on.
      2. make sure before you exercise, warm up your neck, shoulder, and back. I am hyperflexible, when I warm up, damn, so many bones release themselves. also, when you work for a long time (sitting), make sure to move every 30 mins, 1hr, or 1hr & 30 mins. you also exercise/warm up your neck.
      I always do the:
      chin-tucks
proper posture then 10 times slowly look to the left
after that, 10 times to the right. don't overlook okay, just right
      roll your shoulders
make sure to exercise your back with back exercises.
      3. if you have a heavy head like me, would really recommend neck braces, but if you're the type who doesn't notice that your shoulders tense when you have neck pillows or neck braces on, would recommend to just lay in bed every 3-4 hours just to relax all the muscles and bones helping your head. because if you force yourself with those neck brace/pillow, near the neck and shoulder would become more painful.
      4. the biggest relaxer for me is putting a heating pad on my back and neck area. it really legit relaxes the muscles.
remember, it's better to be sore from muscle pain than to get into an operation because of disc (vertebral disc) problems. I almost went there. not fun, very scary. I am the type of person who, if I can avoide an operation, will not get an operation.

    • @gabrielquimson2604
      @gabrielquimson2604 3 роки тому +2

@@ChiChi-rr9um yeah. Sometimes you just need to move it a bit because it's overstrained from a certain position or you just need to lay in bed
Hmmmm, maybe it's because it was released? Sometimes, when my neck bones get released when I stretch them, there is this relief that I crave for afterwards.
Whenever it wouldn't release, I would feel stressed and my muscles would unconsciously stress themselves too and it starts to hurt. When I feel that, I rest, you need to relax them. So, yeah, getting on bed feels real niiice. Ahahahaha
So, neck bones being released ain't always a good thing. Especially if, the chiro didn't warm up ur muscles before releasing them. Cause it might give u a cold muscle. Maybe that's why it's painful

Will a neck brace work with neck DISH? After standing for about one-half to one-hour, my pain will usually become unbearable. My doctor told me there is nothing I can do about it. I just want to use the neck brace while actively standing up because the pain mostly goes away when lying down.
I have a good doctor, but everything is conservative treatment at first so it takes a long time to get anything fixed. The doctor’s office will only allow us to ask about four problems per visit. Irritating. It took me years just to get neck X-rays.
