Wow!! All of these exercises were ones my PT was having me do until I couldn’t get through it without pain…the rest of my PT was hands on.(traction, massage, needling, pressure point). Lord, I pray to God above that I a cleared for surgery at the Cleveland Clinic next Thursday. Cervical stenosis is excruciating!
You are completely right! Doctors always blame everything on aging! it's like their easy escape to give real answers. Your channel is awesome, very informative! Thank you!
Hey Odile, Thank you so much for your kind words and support! To say that narrowing of the spine, bone spur growth and arthritis are NOT age related is denying reality. But this does not mean it's untreatable or only going to get worse.
Hello, your videos are always very informative and encouraging 😊 can the Rolfing method specifically head, neck, shoulder body work be a safe and effective way for an active person to help the muscle imbalance you speak ofwith Osteoarthritis in neck? IRM shows no pathologies. Have no pain, just a radiculpathy. I was thinking of getting deep tissue work up there. Thank you in advance .
These days you truly have the advocate for yourself!!! My family doctor was sent a copy of my Xray from my chiropractor. It is degenerative Disc Disease with severe stenosis. My doctor seen the Xray and said it looked like arthritis and sent over an order for PT!!! Thak GOD my chiropractor listened to me and and pushed for an MRI! MRI showed Severe Stenosis from bone growth and calcification. I have been referred to a neurosurgeon this Thursday. My pain level is maxed out. Nothing takes the edge off and it is now excruciating. I’m praying I am cleared for surgery for this to be fixed. I know nerve pain when I feel it. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. Love and prayers.
@@Watch_disciple I have, and I’ve tried needling, traction, a nerve block injection , an epidural steroid injection, a round of oral steroids, massage….you name it … I have done it.
@@Watch_disciple Thank you so much. Well, I went for the re- visit with the neuro and his NP cane in the door so I immediately knew what I was going to hear. She basically read his notes back to me and told me to keep icing and heating my neck, PT, exercising it, and have another injection called a medial nerve block. Sorry, but I was absolutely pissed. I don’t cry very often, but I broke down in tears in front of her and she apologized. Said my MRI was not significant enough for surgery. I asked her “Then why did the doctor tell me to come back for a re-visit if all else fails?? She had no words. I wanted to see him, not her. Anyway, I called my Chiropractor and updated him. He was not happy. He asked me to get a 2nd opinion and told me to get in with Cleveland Clinic. So I did, they were able to retrieve all of my medical records and I’m just waiting to hear back from them. I should hear back either tomorrow or by Wednesday at the latest. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 If all else fails, I’ll just have to do the ablation for the rest of my life!! 🤯🤯
I've been diagnosed with moderate to severe cervical stenosis. Everytime I have gone to physical therapy the made me do the rubber band shoulder pinching exercise. This was highly inflammatory and I would have to quit. Thanks for setting the record straight.
Hey Kenneth 👋! Yeah it is not uncommon to feel pain when pinching the shoulders if you have cervical stenosis like yourself. We're glad to hear that this video has been helpful for you! I quit the PT for my neck. They were telling me to do everything you were showing here. I felt constant pain the next week after one visit. After that first visit, I called and cancelled the rest of my visits.
So right this is me in a nut shell, I'm in pain most of the time. My friend was in her late 20's and had bad pain in her back and they kept telling her that it was age related, but it continued worse so she went to the ER , and they told her loose weight it is probably your weight ! So time went on she had 2 young kids and was not able to do much , so they ordered a MRI , well there it is a tumor in her back of the neck and it was too late she did not last more than 3 months. Her kids were in foster care and separated which was heart breaking. So thank you this kind of thing has happened more than once. God Bless.
I've been to physical therapy twice at two different clinics for cervical stenosis. They destroyed me every time I went. My neck and shoulder muscles would literally freeze up for days after each session and recovery time was a week between sessions (they wanted me there 3x/week). The pain they created was incredible. I kept telling them their treatment was too aggressive and was absolutely making things much worse and they just kept insisting that their treatment was necessary and I needed to come more often until I quit. Symptoms improved dramatically after quitting. I required an injection that allowed me to continue light exercises on my own. Very few problems since. Complete BS.
@@ayazahmadsrk Given that I'm not a professional, I'd rather not. I will say that I built my exercise routine mostly from various youtube videos on neck/spinal stretches/exercises that I felt I was comfortable with. It took some time to discover what I felt was helpful for me. Several exercises were painful - I don't do those. But I have occasionally revisited previously painful exercises to find that they are no longer painful - progress. The most important thing is it becoming a regular part of your routine. It doesn't work very well if you only do it a few times a month. I do full body stretches and exercises for about 20-30 mins Mon, Wed, Fri like clockwork.
At some point surgery might be necessary. For me it was after years of struggling. Now I do yoga and incorporate a lot of what he’s talking about in this video, and I finally feel as healthy as ever!
Wow! Now I know why I felt deathly ill when I went camping this summer. I had to travel down a gravel road for 2 hours and I seriously had the worst headache of my life and thought my son would have to drop me off at the hospital on the way home! It was all I could do not to cry like a baby the whole way back. Thanks for the informative video, I was doing all kinds of wrong things with the stretches too. I thought I was helping the problem but was making it worse. So my two favorite sports were biking and weight lifting and I was also a stomach sleeper, I guess I wrecked my neck beyond repair. I had a scan after I went to ER for severe pain and was sent home and told nothing was wrong. I read the report myself a month later and it said I had SEVERE stenosis, ddd, bone spurs, scoliosis and a fractured 4th rib. I didn't realize I broke my rib the night before the ER trip (I feel stupid I broke it stretching too hard, felt something kinda pop) and was utterly shocked they didn't tell me!
I love #10 and you are so right!! I am a mostly healthy 62 yo female and was just diagnosed with cervical stenosis. It is compressing my nerve that leads to my left hand causing numbness when I lean on my forearm in certain places. Your video offers great advice and help. Thank you!
I just got diagnosed within cervical stenosis a couple of months ago, I am 59 ,but 2 years ago was diagnosed with L5- s1 and thoracic mid spine but just this year is started feeling the sharp pains and left side numbness, pain but I know it’s not age related but that is exactly what doctors

This guy really know what he is saying. I’m suffering from a pinched nerve in my C5-C6 and heavy physical therapy make me feel more in pain. Also I drive busses for a living and at the end of the day I’m feeling terrible. Because my condition is getting worse with unstable neck problems I may be a candidate for neck surgery 😮
I hate always hearing doctors tell me everything wrong with me is due to getting older. It’s like they’re trying to make me feel helpless to feel better.
worse, is being told it since i was in my early 20s dealing with spine and neck issues that "welp, it's just called getting older and aging. we all get aches and pains." I'm 50 now and everything has just gotten worse and worse over the yrs. And the treatment is always stretching and using those bands, and/or a pill. i've been on every anti-depressant over the yrs b/c "oh, just try it. it can maybe help with over-active nerves." Plus i've been prescribed every steroid cream, pill, anti-inflammatory pills, etc. etc. And after all these yrs, i'll still get the "welp, you are getting older. this is part of getting older." So demoralizing.
@@The-D-Hoyt I'm with you. When I first had neck problems 5 years ago, it was "You're young and strong; this will pass." Now, it's "Well, you're aging... this is normal." 😔
Thank you for this great video. Herniated discs and pinched nerves in neck and lumbar. Had cervical fusion in 2007, and life has been hell on earth ever since. 2-3 hours sleep at night, that's when the pain gets the worst, then hot showers and movements for hours to give me a few hours of relief from the night, then the cycle starts all over again. I will try that pillow.
bingo.. 20yrs of riding BMX, 15yrs of accumulative damage after my initial injury. caused me incredible pain for the last 4-5yrs of my 'career'. It was heartbreaking being told I couldn't ride bmx every again. I tried a 15minute session after 2yrs of hanging it up the other day, and that 15minutes messed me uuuuuup. I really really 100% cannot ride bikes anymore., it causes me way too much discomfort and inflamation. these videos are spot on.
My physical therapist gave me highly severe and aggressive neck exercises. I never went back. I suffered without pain killers, excruciating pain down both arms. They also said age related; made me feel HOPELESS, I LOVE YOUR ADVICE
I had surgery July 25. It is now September 21th. I had cervical stenosis. I knew it was gonna be a big deal but it’s crazy. Surgery went well. I thought I’d be feeling better by now. Dr. Told me it gonna be awhile. Still going to P/T. Good luck to anyone that’s having this surgery. Moving is a challenge because of all the hardware in my neck and back.
I am scheduled for surgery on October 30 can you give me something to do & what to look forward to. My surgery is front and back neck so I will be out of commission for 3 months Anything you can share would be so helpful
I am 76 years old and I have recently had an MRI scan which showed severe stenosis in my lumbar spine and cervical spine. I have suffered from stenosis in my neck for many years. When I was about 50 I saw a specialist about my neck problem. He told me I was too old for surgery. I have had to suffer from severe pain and stiffness all these years. I used to get traction and lots of physiotherapy for several years and the traction really helped relieve the pain. They have now stopped using traction and have given up administering physio. I am left to suffer a permanently bent neck, I can't look up and I have severe stenosis now. I suffer from depression because of my neck problem and doctors just aren't interested. (Life's a bitch and then you die)

Had surgery in 2017, worst thing ever :/ I’m 38 now have cronic pain and being told basically nothing can do . Now my thurasic is bad as well . Thank you for this video found it very helpful! And yes had a doctor tell me everyone gets stenosis as they age but didn’t fall for it as I wasn’t that old lol
Ive been in PT for 2 years for my cervical and lumbar stenosis, doing Red Cord therapy, stretching, and pilates. I havent had any pain in my neck or back for well over a year and a half. I also ride my bike, and I hike. Riding on smooth asphalt has been perfectly fine, but any off-road mountain biking very BAD. Lol Im almost 54. Im stronger and more fit than ive ever been. I hope to stay in physical therapy for as long as insurance will allow. I love it.

I am 50 yrs old with cervical spondylosis. Today i tried Acupuncture after months of MRI, pain killers, anti inflammation injections. Tonight is the first night i have had pain free and no meds. I urge anyone to try Acupuncture. An update. I now wear a shoulder harness to correct my slouching posture. This has helped immediately and the headaches have literally come to a halt. Also a new pillow from AirSleep Japan.

Yep! I refused every neck PT my body said No!! I listened… 8 herniated C2 - T2,osteophytes, stenosis, bilateral arm neuropathy w right arm weakness, chronic pain at an 7.5 resting daily too much to list! DV the gift that keeps on giving😢
Thank you for this video. I hurt my neck years ago horseback riding. Then years later I fell down many steps and couldn’t get up for over 45 minutes. My neck was badly hurt. I was told I should never ride horses or quads again, anything that can jar my neck. My whole neck is full of arthritis now. I wake up with bad neck pain and headaches where it feels like my brain is on fire. I’ve bought all kinds of pillows including the one you mentioned. Nothing helps. Some days I cannot move my neck at all. I do light neck stretches and sometimes I think it helps. I definitely have nerve damage as lots of times it feels like my brain goes to sleep, like pins and needles. Had many X-rays and cat scans on my neck. The doctors always ask what happened to my neck. They say it is no longer straight but instead it’s like a snake. Not sure what that means but I know it causes great pain. I wake up with pins and needles in my hands. Even pain into my jaw up into my ears. No doctor can help me. I’m having acupuncture now and it is helping. So much pain. I needed to watch this video. Thank you
This is so helpful, I am 52 with several bulging discs in my cervical and lumbar spine. I had a discectomy in my L4 L5 at age 21 and have struggled with back pain my entire life. My medical care has consisted of pain pills and going to physical therapy once every few years for 3-6 visits where they were restricted to treating only only one issue at atime instead giving me a wholistic plan to live a productive life with these issues. For example oftentimes my right arm and hand are going numb from nerve impingement and my lower back pain is really bad with sciatica and muscle pain. My doctor can only write a prescription for up to 6 visits of physical therapy for one of those issues, lumbar or cervical, because insurance only pays the PT to treat one at a time. Usually exercises for one issue aggravate the other, but I have had a couple of therapists that worked with me taking my whole body into account. I realize that I need to take care of myself if I dont want to be stuck on bedrest for the 2nd half of my life. This is information that is priceless to me, thank you so much!!!
Don’t be afraid to have surgery when it’s right for you. I’m 59, and 4 years ago I had surgery. Now I do yoga and I also incorporate what he explains in this video and I feel pain free and healthy as ever! Sometimes when the pain is severe, you’ve done everything that has been recommended and you are down to pain pills, gabapentin and bed rest. It’s time for surgery. Life is precious and short… quality of life is important. Do what you need to do… however pick the best surgeon around! One that has done lots of these!
Thank you so much for this video, I have this condition went to physiotherapy he made me so worse I was nearly vomiting, I now understand why I was so sick yesterday, this video is brilliant 👏 thanks doctor from Australia 🇦🇺 God bless you
I so appreciate your expertise and your excellent teaching videos. I honestly believe you are the crème de La crème on and off the internet. Thank you, you’ve improved my life.
Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for your UA-cam videos. I am watching the ones on Cervical stenosis that I have. I have been going to physical therapy and doing some of the exercises that you suggest not to do. I would like to see videos on what exercises I could do to strengthen my neck And help my cervical stenosis thank you for all you do. 😊
Great video. I wish I watched this kind of video 5 years ago. With Stenosis I did all the things he suggested to avoid and ended up fusing c1-c5. Please listen to him.
Very sensible advice. My first doctor told just age related problem and gave some pain killers and prescribed some physiotherapy exercise. All these made my problem worse. This continued for six months making my problem worse. I got vertigo. One ENT specialist who saw the X ray was shocked and asked me to go to a good ortho. Finally one ortho prescribed sensible exercise. I am far better off.
This finally helped me. I over worked my neck because of referred pain near my shoulder blade. The pain in my back subsided after 2 weeks, but my hand became number and weak. No more aggressive neck stretching
Yes, you are right. Not overdoing these exercises, or stretching. I have done these Neck exercises, and the result now, I have tension in my Neck. And also tinglings which is very stressful. Thank you again for your valuable online physical exercises therapy. ☘️🍀☘️

I have cervical stenosis with dizziness. Had X-rays and MRI's. I've been to neurologists, anesthesiologists for epidurals, they didn't help. I've been to an ENT and was tested for vertigo, it wasn't vertigo. I was sent to Cleveland Clinic with my MRI and was told cervical stenosis doesn't cause dizziness. I asked the anesthesiologist if I had my disc fixed if that would stop the dizziness, she didn't know. My next visit is to a neurosurgeon. I can't go anywhere or do much because of the dizziness. Is this a reason for surgery?
The next they Will Tell you is that you have anxiety/ depression and stress and it’s all in your head- and they do that cuz they don’t have a clue how to help you…..
I’m getting a new power chair due to the jolting from its age. I can feel every crack in the sidewalk. Ugh. Hope i haven’t done more harm along with ablation in left c-spine area that feels I messed up neck muscles for a while. Anyone else have problem with ablation?
Same with me. Never said why. So I'm not going back for that to any of them. Deal with it at home. Sorry to hear your having these spells. It's not fun
Oh my God I have been doing everything wrong! And no wonder after each bike ride, I am in pain! mind you I have just got bike this summer , my first! Thank God I paid only 10 bucks for it at Goodwill store. I am tuning in your other videos. Thank you so much Sir! Jana
Things I literally just learned the hard way- massaging the occipital junction is an absolute no go. Kicked my Tinitus and muffled hearing right into full symptoms. Interesting what you said about shoulders. Mine neurological symptoms are worse when i wear like a heavy coat or drape a blanket on my shoulders.
Great information, strength exercising for proper support without over doing it and putting yourself into a painful recovery period. The hardest balancing act ever.
Hey Bill, you are absolutely right! It is a very tough balancing act that you can never win all of the time. But it is very important to always try to recover when you get even a little out of balance.
I wish I could get a neck brace in the UK. They stopped issuing them a few years ago. I had one some time ago and it really helped. Now they do not recommend them. They also stopped doing traction which also helped relieve pain. The Physiotherapy unit at my local hospital is always empty, at one time it was very busy with people doing exercises and receiving treatment. I think they call this progress.
What we have here is (and I know the struggle) it’s not necessarily a bad exercise, it’s the inability to properly hold the neck while you move, sleep, golf, etc. shouldn’t neck stability mastery be priority before using the other exercises?
I don’t have stenosis but two out of whack disks in my neck due to an accident I had in childhood. I recognize pretty much everything you’re saying. What neck strengthening exercises are safe to do? Do you have a video on them? Thank you!
What helps me is wearing a soft collar periodically. At first I went to a chiropractor and ended up in an ambulance afterwards. They wanted a $380,000 surgery(titanium vertebrae replacement). I treated my problem with a cycle of steroids to avoid pain meds to move my right arm after 6 months of immobility. Soft collars periodically, rest, walking to lose weight, counting calories to stay fit, and patience.
Hey Toby! Sorry to hear that you had a poor medical experience in regard to surgery. However, we are thrilled that you were able to find an alternative that was successful for your recovery. Thank you for being active on our channel!
I have had back issues since my early 20's my, many chiropractors, i blame one specific spot which has created a domino effect on my entire back my thoracic from between my shoulder blades to my waist but mostly between my shoulder blades, non of the chiropractors are able to fix it. They give up on me, thought surgery but can't get anyone to look at it, my neck has so many issues i live with constant migraines. Had a mini stroke in 2011 because of it, tried to see a spine doctor had mri but he refused to even consult with me. I will be 67 this year. I have watched enough therapy videos and found some things that help but never permanent. Only option they tell me is pain shots which i said no, i notice if i work on the thoracic it helps. You are so right about the jarring motion
Please, please make a video what can be done , what exercises you recommend. We see that nearly everything is restricted with this problem, so what can we do to make our situation and neck better?

I come back to your video over and over again to remind me of all the things I shouldn't do and things I should do to help me with my cervical stenosis. I really don't want to get surgery and anything I can do to keep from doing that I want to do. what are your thoughts about using tens units on your neck ? I not only have cervical stenosis I have herniation and this mainly affects C5.
Thanks doc! I have this wonderful thing in my neck. I had an mri because my shoulder was really hurting and guess what?! Anyway, these are good to know things. I do use the soft ball head on my percussion massager along both sides of my neck and along my hip joints where there is a lot of tightness after hip replacement surgery 11 years ago. I turn the ball on its side and it feels like it helps. I hope I am not making the cervical stenosis worse for the future!!
I sure hope this isn't age-related as you say, since I am only 37 and suffer from this. C5-C6 disc bulge, bilateral uncovertebral hypertrophy. Mild to moderate central canal narrowing, moderate to severe right and mild left neural foraminal narrowing with right-sided nerve impingement. C6-C7 disc bulge, bilateral uncovertebral hypertrophy. Mild central canal narrowing, moderate to severe left and moderate right neural foraminal narrowing with left-sided nerve impingement. Causing symptoms (pain, numbness, weakness) down both arms and into hands. Confirmed ulnar neuropathy in both elbows. Just had epidural steroid injections around the area.. hoping I get some relief.
Thank you I've done this exercise and are amazed by the instant pain relief. I've experienced extreme left shoulder pain due to my cervical disc c4-c5. Thank you
I have lumbar stenosis and cervical stenosis I might need surgery since I’m loosing range of motion with pain and numbness on my legs and arms, little by little I’m becoming handicap! It’s true that rest does help and some exercises but stenosis only gets worse with time. Now I’m really interested to learn more about strengthening the right neck muscles to hopefully avoid this surgery. Where can I find more info on that please? Thank you!! ❤
Thanks. This is helpful. I don't know why my neck and shoulder are doing this. The doctor didn't even take xrays to see what is going on he sent me to a specialist this was in March. The specialist can't see me until September.
Good video. I've had neck problems all my life. I quit carrying a purse several years ago because of it and use a phone wallet. Also, when on the phone, I usually put it on speaker.
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Doc , I just need some enlightenment because I was watching your exercises on cervical radiculopathy but the way you explained on cervical stenosis sounded identical, but then that there are exercises we have to avoid if someone has stenosis, so can you please expound on that. What’s the difference and what exercises do you recommend for stenosis or can somebody with a stenosis ok to do The exercises you recommended for a cervical radiculopathy. Kindly explain if you don’t mind in layman terms.❤
Im at a crossroads. 4 herniated discs (one pretty crappy) in my neck. 4 herniated discs in lumbar; surgery on L5/S1 25 years ago. Neuro in Tx said no golf, bike riding, skiing. So i went from active to inactive. The pain got worse. Dr at Mayo said start exercising. Easy does it. Therapy for glute, QL, psoas, rhomboid, traps and lats. Im 63. Im 6 weeks into activities again and my pain is disappearing. No spasms. Im off my meds. And im on a very focused diet. My bmi is 19%. No other metabolic health issues. Im still torn. C5/C6 is 1mm from the cord. And im full of osteophytes in the lumbar area. Im REALLY careful with everything and have gone from being a competitive athlete to a man exercising and acting his age doing it. Im half inclined to get a third opinion. But the pain is gone.?!?!?!?

My goodness. Some of the excercises my pt gave me to do for a rotator cuff injury are the same ones you mentioned. I notice after a few months my shoulder through lower neck hurts. Last year I got rid of all the leather handbags with heavy clasps adornment for zippered canvas totes or crossbody bags. When the purse weighs 3 to 7 pounds before you put your junk in it, and you are in chronic pain, only an idiot wouldn't figure out that the heavy leather, desiger embossed bag is making you sick. Wonderful information. Thank you for your channel
I flew army helicopters that by their very nature beat your spine to death with its one to one vibrations will destroy your cervical and lumbar spine. But the VA has time and time again ruled that you can’t prove it so it’s not a disability, even when there are several credible studies that says it’s true. He's so right.. I have this condition, and one day had to operate a forklift on rough terrain, lots of reversing turning head round, on bumby surface... That night I had severe vertigo it was like someone above was using my house like a Rubik's cube , it was awful and went on for 2 days... 😮
I am facing the same issue. I used to do a lot of heavy weight lifting. I had followed medication for approx year but nothing has changed. Currently I am 27 years old. What should I do?
Hi Jatinrock, We are so sorry to hear that you are dealing with Cervical stenosis, especially since you were so active. There is no way for us to provide you with personalized guidance for your situation without a proper evaluation as we do know the severity of your injury or the details of your medical history. Generally speaking when dealing with cervical stenosis is a muscle imbalance stemming from the traps. You want to focus on strengthening this area. We have a cervical stenosis help playlist you might helpful. You can access it here: “Cervical (Neck) Stenosis Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1mbB6MFKdws1vpjbW_jyXB5y.html Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. We hope you found this information helpful. We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Hopefully I can get my stenosis managed. Neck has been hurting and lost range of motion in my shoulder after a month's worth of extreme pain. The VA nurse said it's only minor stenosis and I shouldn't have issues though the result said Moderate. The VA nurse reluctantly set up a follow up so I can get therapy.
How did your surgery go?

To say that narrowing of the spine, bone spur growth and arthritis are NOT age related is denying reality. But this does not mean it's untreatable or only going to get worse.
Hello, your videos are always very informative and encouraging 😊 can the Rolfing method specifically head, neck, shoulder body work be a safe and effective way for an active person to help the muscle imbalance you speak ofwith Osteoarthritis in neck? IRM shows no pathologies. Have no pain, just a radiculpathy. I was thinking of getting deep tissue work up there. Thank you in advance .
Great video thank you. Do you have a video on exercises to strengthen the muscles that support the cervical spine to help with stenosis?

I quit the PT for my neck. They were telling me to do everything you were showing here. I felt constant pain the next week after one visit. After that first visit, I called and cancelled the rest of my visits.
did you get a spine fusion instead?
Same.
My spinal surgeon was against neck therapy because they overdue it, making your pain worse
Were you able to get an MRI?

Chiro did the same to my wife. He would not take responsibility for causing more issues and injuries.
Can you share some exercise that we can do at home.
Now I do yoga and incorporate a lot of what he’s talking about in this video, and I finally feel as healthy as ever!
you need to see an osteo not a PT.
Thank you so much for your info ,I am in pain constantly ❤

Nobody gets true relief from surgery.

That sounds awful. I pray you get some healing and relief.
They also said age related; made me feel HOPELESS,

Thanks, I didn't think I could do anything about this constant pain.

Hey Krisztina 👋! Thank you for asking such a great question and expressing your concerns. In fact, we have a whole playlist regarding neck stenosis, here its for you:

@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thank you ❤️ I’ll watch them too!
Your channel is awesome very helpful thank you !
So grateful you have suggestions that focus on improving muscle imbalances not just settle on age issues!!
Thank you for sharing this info it was really helpful
Thank you
Where does this exercise happen in the video?
What exercise
I have lumbar stenosis and cervical stenosis I might need surgery since I’m loosing range of motion with pain and numbness on my legs and arms, little by little I’m becoming handicap! It’s true that rest does help and some exercises but stenosis only gets worse with time.
As a retired bodybuilder I blame my stenosis on the abuse I put my body with decades of severe heavy lifting
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO IT WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND I DID PICK SOME GOOD IDEAS💪🙌

I’m so glad I watched this! I’m about to go into a neurosurgery consult tomorrow, and I’ve been nervous thinking that surgery is inevitable with the age factor.
Glad you enjoyed the video Julie! 👍
Thanks for your encouragement. I wish they stop saying it's age. I resent this when doctors say that. I so appreciate you fir saying this
Thank you so much for this information!!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
What would you recommend to fix our neck problems??
Thank you
Look at motivational doc on you tube, he shows some excercises for stenosis....or you could also just type in cervicogenic dizziness, or cervicogenic pain....lots of info 👍
Hey, your info definitely deserve a thumbs up. I have c3-c7 stenosis with 6 and 7 needs to be operated on, and also L3,4,5, and s1. I refused operation and meds and have been walking in the pool for about 3-4 times a week for about a year now but with no progression. C stenosis is newly diagnosed and Ive been doing your exercise and just watched this video and find it all makes sense. Can you please provide more exercise, perhaps more intense one. BTW, thanks for your effort.
Great video. All makes sense. Keep them coming.
Excellent advice. Thank you very much.

Very good video on what not's, Thank you!
I flew army helicopters that by their very nature beat your spine to death with its one to one vibrations will destroy your cervical and lumbar spine. But the VA has time and time again ruled that you can’t prove it so it’s not a disability, even when there are several credible studies that says it’s true. But your video just adds more information about how this happens. Thank you.
I always had more pain after PT. I do yoga now targeted for neck/sholder/back. Helped so much! Some moves I can't do, makes pain worse though
Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your experience. We are so happy to hear that you have found something to help you find relief!

He's so right.. I have this condition, and one day had to operate a forklift on rough terrain, lots of reversing turning head round, on bumby surface... That night I had severe vertigo it was like someone above was using my house like a Rubik's cube , it was awful and went on for 2 days... 😮
Awesome video. If you don't recommend those shoulder pinching exercises with the band, what exercises can we do to strengthen the upward posture?

Generally speaking when dealing with cervical stenosis is a muscle imbalance stemming from the traps. You want to focus on strengthening this area. We have a cervical stenosis help playlist you might helpful. You can access it here:

Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity.
