I WISH SOME OF JERRY LEE LEWIS'S RECORDS LIKE THIS COULD BE ON RADIO NOW, I DO BELIEVE THIS AND MANY OF THE SONGS HE PLAYED, WOULD CHANGE MUSIC AGAIN!!!
JLL was self taught on the piano, but the intro sure sounds like he’s classically trained. Beautiful, and wish it was available on iTunes. “ I will miss you most of all (JLL) when autumn leaves commence to fall.” RIP 10/28/22
This is from the unissued Caribou Sessions from 1980, produced by Eddie Kilroy while Jerry Lee was with Elektra. Around 40 tracks were taped at the Caribou ranch in Colorado in November and overdubs were made in 1981 and 1982, but no tracks were officially released. Some of Jerry's finest work.
A beautiful song that Jerry Lee does so differently, and yet still keeps that nostalgic feel of the original. And his piano...wow! I don't think I've ever heard it better than on this track.
Another set of recordingsI need to track down.I liked the Elektra era. Some decluttered remixes would be pleasing to hear from the original album sessions too.
JERRY LEE COULD PLAY A SONG YOU HAVE HEARD BEFORE, BUT HIS STYLE CANNOT BE MATCHED!!! JUST AMAZING!!!

Sometimes the Killer reminds us he is some kind of crazy genius.
I've now learned to expect anything from the Killer. This is unique for sure.
He was true to his feeling at least it seems like. He really loved Mayra you can hear it in his wonderful voice.

Great version - like it more country style than the jazz-type. He used to sing that often during his 1987 europe tour.
Beautiful. I prefer no violin on this one, but great anyway.
