TROUBLE IN MIND:
The song "Trouble in Mind" is a widely recorded eight-bar blues standard.
It was written by Richard M. Jones (1892-1945), composer and jazz pianist. He recorded the song on February 23, 1926 with singer Bertha "Chippie" Hill and Louis Armstrong on cornet.
It has been recorded hundreds of times, including notable performances (by alphabetic order): Mose Allison; Jeff Beck (Beckology); Elkie Brooks and Humphrey Lyttelton (Trouble in Mind, 2003); Big Bill Broonzy; Johnny Cash (Unearted Vol. 2); King Curtis (All That Blues); Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler (recorded in 1998); Marianne Faithfull for soundtrack of the 1985 Trouble in Mind (film) ; Aretha Franklin; Natalie Gardiner; Peter Green; Big Walter Horton and Carey Bell; Janis Joplin (Janis, 1975 / 1993); Jerry Lee Lewis and Eric Clapton (Last Man Standing); Jerry Lee Lewis and Ron Wood (Last Man Standing Live); Night Losers; Jim McShann, Duke Robillard and Maria Muldaur; Nina Simone (Nina Simone at Newport, 1960); Big Joe Turner, Dinah Washington, Arno Hintjens.
Jerry Lee is one of those artists that actually lives up to the Legend moniker. Brilliant vocally and piano 🎹 wise on rhythm & blues & rock & roll& country too. He interprets all those genres so well. He innovates so soulfully. This is why I dig the likes of him & Bo Diddley so much. Different and unique artists are very much my thing. Love their music which will never die.
Chris 🎼
Love all of his music
Because of his wildness, I don't think this man was ever given his proper due as the incredibly talented musician he was. The first scene in this documentary is not the JLL we all remember. His talent went way beyond what we all know.
Yes, believe me no other singer can get close to him, never ever, love you and I like to listen this one ❣️
I've always loved Jerry Lee but this is a revelation - true blues and sympathetic piano.
It's hilarious The Killer has brought so much life to peoples hearts. We're all struggling with something Killer. RIP.
Take a good look folks; you won't be seeing the likes of him again. The man oozed music and was as good of a singer as he was a piano player.
No one can touch Jerry Lee on the piano....! Just unreal!
...."Think about it Mickey!"
Jerry HAS GONE BUT THE MUSIC LIVES ON!
This song and the way the Killer sings it goes right to the heart
What A Performance 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
The one and only Jerry!!!

NEVER BE ANYONE LIKE HIM
WELL DONE
EVEN NINA SIMONE WOULD LIKE THIS VERSION
why *WAS* ???
Real talent here; natural; great music; thank you Jerry
Rock and roll, blues, and country. The Killer did all well.
Jerry Lee Lewis is the best actual soul singer of them all.
King of all genres.

Incredible!! The killer!!
Now that's soul music, and that's the way to play and sing it. None better than the KILLER ❤️

Rest in Peace my friend! You will be missed! Walk on ! Play on!
Wow he brought the whole city with him
Yes, I agree 100%..I watch these videos of Merle Jerry Lee, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash and am reminded how much better these songs are just done simple...steel guitar, piano, fender guitar, flat top etc. 3-4 cords.
Check Lightnin Hopkins he does it best.
Nobody comes close to The Killer, he was such a great entertainer and was super talented, he could play any style of music and make it sound so masculine & be so energetic, the man in my opinion is the King of Rock&roll
Incredible. Sure makes it look easy.
ikeboy if only it was!
wow. the Killer!!
What a great talent!!
Blues club bands can play this well. No one can sing like that though.
Blues club bands can't play the piano like that either.
Oh, wow, this is such a great version of a great song.
Wow those vocals and piano were amazing
nando ketchu
Jerry can do a top line performance of blues drop a hat what a gift
When Fats Domino past away this year i realize that all the great rock and roll singers of the fifty's are gone and there's a few of them, Jerry is one of them, and saddenly in the present nobody try to do and learn something from this great past of the music in Usa...I wonder: What happen with the great music?
I love the Memphis Blues, thanks for sharing
Wow! There'll never be another one like the Killer.
Very well done! Thanks much🎶
Last man standing...
Crazy great.
Is there any song JLL cannot sing the h*ll out of? A true American treasure!
Beautiful
Sing it, sing. It man
Jerry has added quite a lot of different lyrics and made it his own as only he can.
Gem of a song...you can see Jerry Lee loves it too.,bless him.

Jerry Lee Lewis, D.E.P. genio y figura. Hoy se nos va un poco de genuino Rock´n´Roll.

That PIANO though… Damn!
Jerry Lee rules, period! But Joel Shumaker, R.I.P., 15 years with the Killer, what's with that???
Excellent!! Thanks for posting:)
Grandma Mary
Ohh sorry, was Bo Diddley who past away but in 2008 sorry, but i still feel the same: Why nobody wants to recreate this great music again? There's too much pop right now i want my old good country, my old rock and roll, let's back to the basics¡¡¡
FABULOUS!

YOU MOTHER YOU 🌹🌹
Bessie Smith sang this too,I think she recorded it in the mid 1920s.A great blues.
Beyond words
This kind of music is being played everywhere. Go to a blues club and you'll hear it.
Kaalec, I bet I won't hear vocals like that.
This is only one of my all time favorite songs I learned when I was just a kid old Jerry did a great job on it but his version was a little different from what I knew just wish I could find it on a karaoke disk
+Lewis S Burleson I remember this as a child, can't remember the original vocalist. It wasn't the Janis Joplin; I think this tune is much older. Do you have any idea of who the original was? Thanks
+jawja100 Pinetop Perkins..?
Thanks, Ifeanyi. The one I remember was country, in the 40's. I think it was the Eddy Arnold version. Could have been Tommy Duncan/Bob Wills.
+jawja100 Probably, yes... Thanks, man.
Have a great night.
Wow I’ve never heard this version ❤️❤️❤️
Damn...
2024 ❤
The only other version I've heard of this was really depressing and I didn't like it at all. I almost didn't listen to this but because it's JLL I gave it a chance and am glad I did. . . .WOW!! Thank God we have his recordings!
Dieudo a aimé cette chanson ! !
OH MAN,,, THE KILLER,,💜
great video..... Thanks! Keep it up....

Love Jerry (I'm a piano player, in my own way...) but it is a shame that they didn't show the guitarist while he was soloing! ;-)

GOODNESS, EMAGINE THE STORM COMING , ALL I WANT IS A FANTASTIC LAWER !!!!!!!
Great singer he was central to my songbook growing up. But too many drugs in this era. He looks too lean and hard.
