Thank you Justine for sharing these different techniques! They all are awesome! I am new to Distress Oxides. I work mostly with alcohol inks and distress inks. I picked up distress oxides recently and was about to throw in the towel. This video definitely has encouraged me to keep practicing with them. I LOVE the stencils you used too! I am super excited to try this!😁

You’re the best!!! And I love the cards. Distress Oxides on black?! Duh!!! Seems like a no-brainer and yet here we are. Lol. I’ll try that later...
All of those are gorgeous! I’m always excited about all the possibilities with the Oxides.
Thanks for collabing with me! Cant wait to check out your video. Mwah!
very nice backgrounds
These are fun techniques. I need to use my stencils more. I tend to forget about them. I have a hard time picking a favorite color, too. It’s a toss up between squeezed lemonade and broken china I think.
Ready to stencil!
Love these tips! Have you gotten any distress oxides that are somewhat dried out? I have a few and wondered how to re ink them.
There are ink refills for sale. I noticed after quite a bit of use they needed to be refilled.
Hi, I love your videos and the techniques who've shared. I like the blending brushes. Could you tell me how many you have or do you recommend when working with all the Tim Holtz inks? Should you buy one for each of the ink pads available so nothing gets contaminated. That would be very expensive. I would appreciate your advice about this. Thank you.
I bought the full set to start off with and I definitely recommend the larger round ones vs. buying any of the smaller ones. They also come separately which is nice. I have one brush per colour regardless of the type of ink -- one for blue, one for pink, etc. If you just rub them off on scratch paper when you're don't there won't be any contamination.
@@justinehovey Oh, thank you very much for the info. Look forward to watching more of your great and inspiring videos.
Pretty :)
Lovely. More inks,to,buy 😂
💗💗💗 TFS.
Such a great technique video! Now, can you show those backgrounds made into cards? I'm great at making backgrounds, but lousy at turning them into cards. I'd love to see what you do with those beautiful stencil pieces!
I have some coming up in a video on Wednesday. Other than that I just plan on throwing a sentiment die on them. I have dozens of tutorials on finished cards with Distress Oxide blended backgrounds - I have a whole playlist actually
I know about your playlist😊. I'm just saying, for me, I get stuck after the background is done. I need to get out my sentiment stamps or dies and just get to it! I'm also going to re-watch your videos and get inspired!
I know when using distress oxides to create a background, you would start from the edge and work your way toward the middle. But what if I wanted to create a color area just in the middle of the card? How should I go about doing that?
Just go really lightly when applying. The brushes should really help with that vs the blending tools
I have a question. Can you use Distress Oxide inks for distressing your papers for your mini albums? I mean by taking an applicator and dabbing it on the ink pad and running it over the cut edges of the paper to give it a shabby look. Or is it just for watercolor looks and direct to paper? Thank you for your help.
You can do distressing of edges, stamping, anything really
Thank you so much for answering my question. I am going to try it on my next mini album.
Is there some reason that what you used is not showing up? I clicked "show more" but there isn't anything there.
Must be your device, I can see everything in the video description
@@justinehovey Back to this video today. Every thing appeared. Strange.
Wow Josefines video is not visible anymore.... Don't know if her channel still is, can you give me her channel name?
She’s gone on to making videos about books and reviews so unfortunately she’s not doing the card thing anymore
@@justinehovey such a shame, but thx 4 letting me know👍😁
