    I think I make up a very small demographic of your channel, but this is exactly the kind of thing I'm subbed for. I usually only get to see one of these types of videos once year but it's worth the wait. I really like the elder scrolls as well as your detailed explanations of how the game's systems work. ☺️

    I always use Speech craft and merchantile for minor skills to get my personality. Helps a lot early game with getting good sales and fast to level too can easily drain all vendors of their cash especially with the Dark brotherhood giving you essentially free loot to sell.

      While major and minor skills go to your level up, misc. do affect your affect your stat multiplier. So training up a misc. skill with a trainer in town before level is also a good trick if you have the money.

    You don't even have to level to master the game. Just get an enchanted item that shoots death rays, one that fortifies enchanting by 10, and one that restores stamina. After you get the boots of blinding speed you can run through the entire game with just that.

    From a QOL game play standpoint i would say speed or agility should be the second attribute as it determines your movement which is abysmally slow in the beginning or your hit chance among other things. Luck can be increased each level and flows in fine if not chosen.

    • @DVSPress
      @DVSPress  11 місяців тому +1

      That's a good point because you do start out at mega slow speed in Morrowind. It's worse if you wear heavy armor. You also will end up with low stamina from running everywhere, and stamina even controls chance for spells to hit.
      Another benefit of rolling Breton is that you can get the boots of blinding speed early on and they won't blind you! Then you really don't have to worry about your speed.
      I like luck at level 1 though because it has the biggest effect on everything and it's just not as good when you're high level compared to any other stat.

  • @marcosdheleno
    @marcosdheleno 4 місяці тому +1

    i feel like morrowind did a great job at balancing the leveling system so you dont really need to worry about leveling efficiently. on the contrary, the only things that KINDA have a reason to worry on leveling are str and hp. the rest is pretty not really that important.
    mp is kinda useless once you start enchanting spells into items. same can be said about willpower, as you dont need to worry about hitting stuff with spells when using enchanted charges. agility and speed are good for moving around and hitting things.... if not for the fact you can easily aquire a helm and a pair of gloves that give you ALOT of agi. possibly even putting you above cap.
    luck is nonsensical to say the least. you cant really "grind" for it, and will take ALOT of effort to max. which makes it not really that good investment even though it affects alot of the dice rolls, but, like i said, you dont really need to worry about those things. and there's the boots of blindingspeed which will give you a ton of speed as well. and have an easy way to deal with the drawback.
    overall, like i said, the only stats that really matter when leveling are str and endurance. str because of carry capacity, and endurance because, well, its max hp you gain on level ups.

    Good vid and good tips. Real chads go Endurance/Luck as favoured attributes and then level +5/+5/+1.
    I should play Morrowind for real. I recently started Arx Fatalis, but when I finally find enough time to (play and) complete that game, I should give OpenMW a spin. Tried playing MW twice, both times quitting after getting to Balmora; the first time was long ago and I, young and fresh out of Oblivion, didn't know why I was missing all of my attacks; the second time I couldn't get more than 15 fps because Morrowind (with graphics extender and the likes, of course) would refuse to run on my laptop's discrete GPU no matter how I tried to force it. I imagine OpenMW wouldn't have that issue.

    • @DVSPress
      @DVSPress  9 місяців тому

      It's technically the best stat because it does lots of things, BUT you can only get 1 luck when you level up; 5 in any other attribute is better if you want all that power as quickly as possible (the point of leveling efficiently). That's why I like picking luck boost at level 1. But you can do 5+5+1 if that's what you think is cool. All my other stats for this character were maxed around level 30 if I remember right, and I had over 100 luck because of gear (you can get a +20 luck shield that is a quest item pretty early).

    Honestly, I don't think efficient levelling matters in Morrowind all that much.
    You can boost your stats sky high quite quickly in the game using Fortify spells, Fortify potions (especially due to Grandmaster alchemical gear you can steal fairly easily even as a non-thief character) and enchantments.
    And also there's a nice 80% Chameleon ring you can get at level 7 or so. You can alway use that and some spells/ranged weapons to kill more difficult opponents.

      Play a battle mage, Nord, who wields both melee and magic and utilises stealth skills. Pay for training by making potions and selling enchanted and non enchanted gear. Mark and Recall are important spells. Clear out dungeons and move all the swag to barrels close to one another, then overload your inventory, Mark your position, use an Almsivi Intervention spell and offload outside a temple. You can drop deposit swag and good equipment at any guild. I have often taken over a room in the Mages Guild in Balmora as my holding area.

    Do this, or modify your game to level up an Attribute every two levels of the Skills it governs.
    Don't do what I did, and forbid yourself to use Skill Trainers.
    You notice he never leaves Balmora? That's because the world outside cities becomes a doubly dangerous place - the normal chance of death, and the danger of accidentally leveling up your Athletics too high.
    Need five more points of Heavy Armor but can't use Restoration? Now you're running and pulling Mudcrabs for five minutes so you can sit in front of them for five minutes until your Healing rings run out. Congrats, only four points to go.
    Paying is crucial. But even then, there's the means by which you acquire the money. And the whole cheesiness of Training. I would really recommend the mod; it's so much more organic than this. Just play, and what you do levels you up. As intended.

    • @DVSPress
      @DVSPress  Рік тому

      As I point out this approach is not really necessary, especially with Morrowind. It DOES make you character extra powerful early on, which means you won't be outclassed depending on where you want to go, etc.
      Playing normally, you'll probably have to spend money on training at some point just to get a new skill you are interested in high enough to use. It really sucks to get a good weapon then wiff air at a mudcrab for 20 minutes because you have no skill in it, or to fail casting a spell until you are OOM because you didn't pick that skill in character creation.
      Setup a character the way I say though and you'll be well equipped for success.
      I also just enjoy interacting with rule sets, taking them to their limits, etc.

Later the same place would have one or more scamps and later higher level Daedra are found in said locations. I don't know if the monsters found are locked in when first leveling an area or if they change over time.. but this level based aspect to the game world's environment really makes certain Artifacts exceptionally easy to obtain early on.
