That’s partly why it’s so hard to bring it up, because you’re so dependent on the adults in your life for your survival, particularly before the age when you start school or preschool. Then the rejection of your caretakers would have meant death just like it does for a baby bird getting thrown out of the nest (if they smell that a human, to them a predator, has touched it then yes, mommy birds do unfortunately leave them to die), it’s more instinct than anything else when you’re that young. It’s pretty much always family or someone close to the family, and depressingly common. But the crusaders always make it seem like the internet somehow gave birth to child predators, so if we just get them off the internet then children are going to be safe. One in five.

@Ariconnie48 The video could get flagged/removed due to the mention of p3dophilia, so if comments talk about it, the video itself could get taken down or demonetized due to the comments. iirc, there was an instance where there were a LOT of MAPs commenting extremely disgusting things on home videos of, for example, girls dancing or doing gymnastics (the videos themselves were all innocent, it was JUST the comments that were gross), and due to these comments, youtube removed the videos or even the accounts uploading these videos, instead of just removing these disgusting comments or banning the accounts making these sorts of comments. I could be misremembering, but given how UA-cam has seriously been cracking down on this sort of censorship these passed few years, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

In the UK, if you call someone a pedo in a publication or even on social media, you can sue them for defamation. It's taken very seriously and people often get fined for this behaviour online
Generally defamation and slander is difficult, due to it hinging on you having to prove that the offender: A: knowingly posted false information. This means they actively knew that it wasn't true, not simply rumours they believed to be true. B: they posted it malicious intent. A. is specifically hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt, because the offender might truly believe in the claims they are making and they don't have to prove for it to be true, they merely have to avoid you proving that they actively knew it was false. Harassment however is another story entirely, but defamaton/slander is quite difficult. Unless you're in Japan where apparently slander and defamation counts even if it was a fact which is bizarre

I had a harasser like this for a little while back in 2017. I ran a semi-popular Tumblr fan blog for an indie musician. It was a very small and niche fandom but the fans he did have could get really intense. So, one day I started getting weird messages from a random account. I checked their blog out of curiosity and it was absolutely unhinged. Their posts were hard to understand, but the crux of their narrative was that this musician was stalking them. They were picking out snippets of his lyrics and snippets from his own Tumblr blog and interpreting it as being about them personally. I think this person was a woman and they were accusing the musician of being sexually obsessed with them but also simultaneously gay and married to a specific man. The blog was half-devoted to accusing him of stalking her/them and half insane rants laden with homophobic slurs directed at him. Anyway, the person’s messages were just a little weird and cryptic at first, but I responded to them, stupidly. Then they amped it up. They started calling me various slurs and sending really personal insults that indicated that they had backread A LOT of my blog. Then they sent me a message with my legal name in it, which I hadn’t used online for years. Then they sent me a message referencing both my parents’ names. I got super freaked out and blocked them. Immediately, more accounts started messaging me. All of these blogs had been active for quite a while and were very slight variations of the original account, but from different “characters” e.g. one was writing as a teen boy, another as an older man, but they were clearly the same person as the original, with the same unhinged writing style and the same MO of random homophobic rants and accusing the musician of being a stalker). They sent increasingly aggressive and personal messages, sometimes about the musician and sometimes just insulting me and calling me slurs. I would block one account and a new one would pop up, usually with a blog that had already been actively posting for months. It didn’t completely stop until I quit Tumblr altogether. I’m going to try to find some of the messages they sent me because they were INSANE. I’m 99% sure the person had schizophrenia or some other delusional disorder. They clearly believed what they were saying and felt justified in all of it. And the amount of active accounts they kept was just insane. It had to have been a full-time schedule for them to post that much. I genuinely hope they got help and they’re doing OK now.
It just shows what a lack of help can do to the mentally ill. God almighty, people can’t keep doing stuff like that though. It’s ridiculous what insane conspiracies you can make people believe if you say the same thing enough times.

I had experienced something similar but thankfully really shortly. One person really god mad at me at Reddit suddenly and started to bully me on other subreddits I was in. I blocked them, they came with a new one. I blocked that one too. I had an account with my personal name on instagram due to personal life and with some connection this person found that out i guess. Suddenly an account from my name on reddit texted me slurs. I freaked out. Because this crazy person is talking with my name and saying things problematic to show it like I am saying them. Thankfully other than my name, this person couldn't get any info on me, since I am a bit freaked out by internet and be really careful about my personal info. Still those days, I felt just like how Nexpo described. I made a report to reddit and thankfully again, they actually closed that account. After that their interaction with me completely died. I just can't understand how people have time to do this.
This happened recently (in 2019 I wanna say) with mitski. A user basically accused mitski of sexually abusing them when mitski was in college and the user was a child, and was fully convinced that they had been abused and mitski was the one who did it. A lot of people initially believed the accuser, but as people looked into it, The user was clearly mentally ill and mitski had to release a statement about it and then took a step back from social media. It’s really wild what psychosis can make you believe, and no one is able to convince a psychotic person that their delusions aren’t real, it’s part of what makes it a true delusion.

Slander and defamation have a high bar to prove in the US. If there’s not undeniable evidence that her actions have caused a substantial financial loss, he likely would either not have a case, or it would not be worth the cost of lawyers and the amount of time.

Mental illness is a serious thing. I deal with it on a daily basis. About a year ago (wow, almost two years already as of writing this comment) I had an experience scarily similar to this one, being a "patient zero" for an internet stalker amongst my friend group who promptly got targeted solely because of association with me. I had someone cut contact with me over it for fear of their own safety. The experience was terrifying, and it left me not wanting to return to social media for months and distancing myself from my friends for their sakes. It sucked. It was stressing me out so bad I started losing hair over it. I feel like people underestimate how truly horrific this level of stalking and harassment can be. How it tears people apart both inside and out.
I had a similar experience that’s been going on for years now. It’ll stop for a year or so and I’ll I’m safe, but he always finds me again. He lives in my hometown and takes to stalking my friends since I don’t live there anymore. Really scary shit

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS NEXPO. A few months ago I was accused (by someone completely separate from Amanda) of drawing and/or spreading CP, and lost all of my online friends and even some real life friends because of it. I had to change my name and user on everything, and it's even bled to people harassing me at my school for something I flat out didn't do. I hate this kind of thing even more than the next person, being a victim of both SA and accusations of being the abuser myself. I'm glad someone with a bigger voice than mine can talk about this.

Having been on amphetamines and trying methamphetamines a few times, I can definitely see how the paranoia could be fueled by a surplus of energy and an obsession. This is akin to organizing every coin in your house by year or digging holes in your backyard, but with a delusion on top of that. That's highly speculative. Her behavior AND M.O is the same as the "Office of Hate" in Brazil, and you can't say all government members involved are noid schizos, they are pretty healthy. Just watched the video and read some other comments. Someone threw in, that there could be other people on this too, considering the number of messages. But yeah not gonna theorize it more, this world is fucked up place sometimes.
Dealt (and still dealing with) a similar situation. It feels like any option available is the wrong one, ignoring makes me the bad guy. Responding makes me the bad guy. Seeking help makes me the bad guy. It has given me fear every time an unknown number calls my phone, I get a notification on specific apps, etc. I know this is an older video, but it brought me a certain kind of comfort hearing another person going through what I have and having the guts to stand up to it.
Okay, but this is extremely terrifying with the fact she has a sort of history of harassing and stalking people. I don't think this is even about destroying people's reputations anymore, she genuinely believes she's been conspired against by people just for the littlest things there is. And we're talking SO many years of this sort of thing. She clearly needs help and that's not an exaggeration at all, but I also do hope authorities find her soon. Hell, the people who tend to "call out" don't even go to this sort of length.
You would want to report this to your state’s attorney general. Their cyber crime division would be who has the jurisdiction to investigate and prosecute these particular crimes.

It's probably to avoid a lawsuit. I'm not a lawyer or anything, but there's probably a reason why many UA-cam creators do that to people they make videos on.
She's not legally a public figure and you can't reveal info about random people online without opening yourself up to lawsuits. One of those laws that you wish didn't protect awful people too

That’s partly why it’s so hard to bring it up, because you’re so dependent on the adults in your life for your survival, particularly before the age when you start school or preschool. Then the rejection of your caretakers would have meant death just like it does for a baby bird getting thrown out of the nest (if they smell that a human, to them a predator, has touched it then yes, mommy birds do unfortunately leave them to die), it’s more instinct than anything else when you’re that young. It’s pretty much always family or someone close to the family, and depressingly common. But the crusaders always make it seem like the internet somehow gave birth to child predators, so if we just get them off the internet then children are going to be safe. One in five.

The video could get flagged/removed due to the mention of p3dophilia, so if comments talk about it, the video itself could get taken down or demonetized due to the comments.
iirc, there was an instance where there were a LOT of MAPs commenting extremely disgusting things on home videos of, for example, girls dancing or doing gymnastics (the videos themselves were all innocent, it was JUST the comments that were gross), and due to these comments, youtube removed the videos or even the accounts uploading these videos, instead of just removing these disgusting comments or banning the accounts making these sorts of comments.
I could be misremembering, but given how UA-cam has seriously been cracking down on this sort of censorship these passed few years, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

In the UK, if you call someone a pedo in a publication or even on social media, you can sue them for defamation. It's taken very seriously and people often get fined for this behaviour online
No, here in the UK you can TRY to sue them. It's much harder than that to do, unless you are very rich or famous.
Generally defamation and slander is difficult, due to it hinging on you having to prove that the offender:
A: knowingly posted false information. This means they actively knew that it wasn't true, not simply rumours they believed to be true.
B: they posted it malicious intent.
A. is specifically hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt, because the offender might truly believe in the claims they are making and they don't have to prove for it to be true, they merely have to avoid you proving that they actively knew it was false.
Harassment however is another story entirely, but defamaton/slander is quite difficult.
Unless you're in Japan where apparently slander and defamation counts even if it was a fact which is bizarre

I had a harasser like this for a little while back in 2017. I ran a semi-popular Tumblr fan blog for an indie musician. It was a very small and niche fandom but the fans he did have could get really intense. So, one day I started getting weird messages from a random account. I checked their blog out of curiosity and it was absolutely unhinged. Their posts were hard to understand, but the crux of their narrative was that this musician was stalking them. They were picking out snippets of his lyrics and snippets from his own Tumblr blog and interpreting it as being about them personally. I think this person was a woman and they were accusing the musician of being sexually obsessed with them but also simultaneously gay and married to a specific man. The blog was half-devoted to accusing him of stalking her/them and half insane rants laden with homophobic slurs directed at him.
Anyway, the person’s messages were just a little weird and cryptic at first, but I responded to them, stupidly. Then they amped it up. They started calling me various slurs and sending really personal insults that indicated that they had backread A LOT of my blog. Then they sent me a message with my legal name in it, which I hadn’t used online for years. Then they sent me a message referencing both my parents’ names. I got super freaked out and blocked them. Immediately, more accounts started messaging me. All of these blogs had been active for quite a while and were very slight variations of the original account, but from different “characters” e.g. one was writing as a teen boy, another as an older man, but they were clearly the same person as the original, with the same unhinged writing style and the same MO of random homophobic rants and accusing the musician of being a stalker). They sent increasingly aggressive and personal messages, sometimes about the musician and sometimes just insulting me and calling me slurs. I would block one account and a new one would pop up, usually with a blog that had already been actively posting for months.
It didn’t completely stop until I quit Tumblr altogether. I’m going to try to find some of the messages they sent me because they were INSANE.
I’m 99% sure the person had schizophrenia or some other delusional disorder. They clearly believed what they were saying and felt justified in all of it. And the amount of active accounts they kept was just insane. It had to have been a full-time schedule for them to post that much. I genuinely hope they got help and they’re doing OK now.

I had experienced something similar but thankfully really shortly. One person really god mad at me at Reddit suddenly and started to bully me on other subreddits I was in. I blocked them, they came with a new one. I blocked that one too. I had an account with my personal name on instagram due to personal life and with some connection this person found that out i guess. Suddenly an account from my name on reddit texted me slurs. I freaked out. Because this crazy person is talking with my name and saying things problematic to show it like I am saying them. Thankfully other than my name, this person couldn't get any info on me, since I am a bit freaked out by internet and be really careful about my personal info. Still those days, I felt just like how Nexpo described. I made a report to reddit and thankfully again, they actually closed that account. After that their interaction with me completely died. I just can't understand how people have time to do this.
This happened recently (in 2019 I wanna say) with mitski. A user basically accused mitski of sexually abusing them when mitski was in college and the user was a child, and was fully convinced that they had been abused and mitski was the one who did it. A lot of people initially believed the accuser, but as people looked into it, The user was clearly mentally ill and mitski had to release a statement about it and then took a step back from social media. It’s really wild what psychosis can make you believe, and no one is able to convince a psychotic person that their delusions aren’t real, it’s part of what makes it a true delusion.
This isn’t even “spooky.”

Slander and defamation have a high bar to prove in the US. If there’s not undeniable evidence that her actions have caused a substantial financial loss, he likely would either not have a case, or it would not be worth the cost of lawyers and the amount of time.

About a year ago (wow, almost two years already as of writing this comment) I had an experience scarily similar to this one, being a "patient zero" for an internet stalker amongst my friend group who promptly got targeted solely because of association with me. I had someone cut contact with me over it for fear of their own safety.
The experience was terrifying, and it left me not wanting to return to social media for months and distancing myself from my friends for their sakes. It sucked. It was stressing me out so bad I started losing hair over it.
I feel like people underestimate how truly horrific this level of stalking and harassment can be. How it tears people apart both inside and out.
I had a similar experience that’s been going on for years now. It’ll stop for a year or so and I’ll I’m safe, but he always finds me again. He lives in my hometown and takes to stalking my friends since I don’t live there anymore. Really scary shit

A few months ago I was accused (by someone completely separate from Amanda) of drawing and/or spreading CP, and lost all of my online friends and even some real life friends because of it. I had to change my name and user on everything, and it's even bled to people harassing me at my school for something I flat out didn't do. Having been on amphetamines and trying methamphetamines a few times, I can definitely see how the paranoia could be fueled by a surplus of energy and an obsession. Those are textbook symptoms of long term abuse for those drugs and it definitely tracks with what we've seen here.

It's probably to avoid a lawsuit. I'm not a lawyer or anything, but there's probably a reason why many UA-cam creators do that to people they make videos on.
She's not legally a public figure and you can't reveal info about random people online without opening yourself up to lawsuits.
