- Last year, an “innocent” channel sprouted on UA-cam that consisted of ordinary vlog-style videos surrounding a girl by the name of Ash. Since then, a lot of bizarre happenings have unfolded, leading us to hypothesize that Ash might not be the only one behind this channel. Tonight, we’re going to explore the various mediums that this recent phenomenon has affected, and take a full investigative dive into the AshVlogs account itself.

Maybe it's just that most applause sounds like a bunch of screaming and noise, and the UA-cam auto-captioning bot just associated it with that, with the static and the screaming.

I'm always scare that one of these days there will be an "arg" that isn't an arg, and it entirely real and disturbing and criminal. The whole concept of args always freak me out for this exact reason, it could (almost) always be real.
I think this is the reason ARGs always scare me the most. The line between reality and online gets so fine that it almost goes away completely

Stevean2 not entirely. And I’m not spreading misinformation. I’m merely giving a simple example of an exe. Yes there are exe’s that can be harmful. I’m the sample I gave, I was explaining how an exe works from a trusted source, not an exe that you download from a untrusted website / dark web. I’ve had my encounters with harmful exe’s, you just need to know what you’re doing and not going on the internet downloading here and there. Like I said, there was no misinformation spread.

The most recent 7 hour video, which I’m pretty sure is gonna be the final one, makes it fairly clear it’s a group of deranged guys running a snuff film operation on the dark web, whose followers are called Drips. The dedication to this ARG is truly nuts. Skin crawling stuff
this is isanely detailed. I always do find the stories of "red rooms" and "snuff films" on the dark web kind of interesting since snuff films do existing on the darkweb but they're less "serial killer footage" or "ritual sacrifice" and more like what you'd see on gore and shock sites from 10-20 years ago. "red rooms" have so far proven to largely be a myth or even many cases scams, sort of like dark web hitmen.

It would probably be discovered pretty quickly. Like, if a person has actually gone missing and they start posting vlogs, I imagine the police would a) have the videos removed immediately and b) be able to mine some information from the posting data. That said, there are a number of (less violent or nonviolent) internet conspiracies that are hotly debated whether they are ARGs or real conspiracies, so it's possible people are already doing it.

If you watch the original videos, turn the subtitles on. The glitches are to block out the person recordings voice. Try it. :)

It does give it away, but it’s done with a purpose. It gets you to go to the description to find the link which is the starting point of the ARG. Honestly the glitches really don’t give anything away if you look at the series as a whole. All it really tells you is that there’s something odd going on.

i remember watching this series before i knew what an arg was and was soooo scared & confused.
Did you happen to notice the book propped up on the table next to her in the first video? "The Art of Spirited Away." Spirited Away is a popular Japanese Anime about a girl that gets trapped in a town inhabited by demons and such while her parents have been turned into pigs. Don't know if it has anything to do with the videos, but you never know.

If common sense were to be such a strong thing, then fake news wouldn't spread out as much as they do and the whole idea of pranking, something I bet you too have fallen for in the past wouldn't exist either. I can guarantee you if this was to be documented and posted out there as a real story then more than just "children and socially handicapped" people would believe it to be true, too.

You just got to stop, breathe and remind yourself its an ARG. These are one of the more tame examples, you should watch "the human pet" the creator had multiple attempts because everyone thought it was legit and the videos got taken down and most likely reported to police. The whole dog food and dirty pond water bits at the beginning give you goosebumps.

Theres an IMDB link for this ARG and the Ash girl is actually a film maker who won awards for her other short films. Very well done. Lauren Koopowitz is the girl who plays Ash, and I believe they are making an actual movie about it, not just the ARG
