It seems the inventory thing is only for the "open world" portions of the game. When you're in instanced zones it gives you the consumables they expect you to have in that instance. So you can't over-stock on consumables for dungeons so the devs can control the difficulty more closely, meanwhile in open world you have to balance between consumables and crafting mats for progression. I like the idea a lot actually, it gives you a sense of preparation before you leave town. Like you need a bunch of crafting mats and health doesn't regenerate, so do you pack a bunch of consumables for a long journey but can't carry much, or do you pack light and play more risky for a bigger haul? I could see them adding inv slots as a cash shop item to alleviate this; but I think this was a specfically designed game mechanic instead of an engineered problem. like BDO purposefully gives you little inv space and weight for no reason other than to sell you cash shop items; there's no thought behind it like there seems to be in Blue Protocol. I doubt they would sell you inv slots in BP, I think they are trying as much as possible to make the "open world" seem like an Isekai.

Gives me SAO vibes, and I believe it is Namco Bandai that makes the SAO single player games as I have a few. Looks promising honestly, wonder if there will be player housing, fishing and all that good stuff. I was reading up on release dates, and initially it's only releasing in Japan around 2021 with the rest of the world be able to join in around 2022. Having said that it's all subjective, and obviously with the worlds problems right now, releasing it could be sooner or further off.
SAO is basically a HUUUUGE representation of what Japanese MMORPGs look like. Questing system, zones, guilds and gathering etc. Japanese MMORPGs are kinda different than the mainstream ones tbh. Any isekai can be made into MMORPG (without OP main character and everyone being able to progress equally) and it would be right in the alley of Japanese players (but might feel like different for western players).
I don't get the hate on Genshin tbh, people be acting like it's not possible to enjoy more than 1 game lol I like Genshin and this game also looks very cool too.
I feel like the map CON opinion can be easily regretted when a translated version is released and how easy it'll become considering how well you progressed over 9hours with a foreign language. This can somewhat be applied to the UI CON opinion as well. I look forward to this game.

I’ve been waiting a long time for something like this to pop up, as the last pve mmo that even made me enjoy myself was Dragon Nest before my level 70 char got wiped out due to a host change for the game servers. It was similar with the moving attack sets and instant ability casts. The first time I experienced it really, and ever since I wanted more like it. It’s very freeing to not need to just sit there and take the damage because you have to in order to cast an ability
Well, its their decision to choose the direction of Genshin. Good thing they make it their own style and not compete with mmo like blue protocol. Still, i agree if kinda disappointed for mmo player
I don't know if it's accurate to call this game "not ambitious" considering how high-budget it looks. You can see they've spent the money in good tech and graphics. As soon as you mentioned that potions didn't stack I felt it in my soul that this game will charge $$$ for inventory slots.
game is not pay 2 win. only thing you can spend $ on is cosmetics, they said so themselves
@@ChutUpPleb I don't think they've signed a contract, a lot of devs sais this and that, then they release the game and after a month it become p2w
@@ChutUpPleb Remember when the Black Desert devs said the game had a price tag to prevent the reasons they went P2W in korea?
@@AzureRoxe Japanese market is vastly different from Korean. The japanese hate p2w just like westerners do. Also these guys pretty much invented video games so don't compare japanese games to korean

@@dot2225 Oh no, trust me when i say i've watched all of what has come out of SAO. I enjoy it as an anime, but if SAO (Aincrad) was a game, it would suck ass. There are so many problems with it that there isn't a reason to list it.
Cain lol entertain me, name a few. SAO as an MMO would be amazing.
@@dot2225
1. It was rushed and wasn't balanced at all
2. The GUI was terrible and not very organized
3. There was no variety in classes and the little variety of classes/roles being played got fucked by reason 1
4. Unreasonably expensive items that are 1 time usage such as magic crystals and the economy would turn to shit in a matter of days after launch
5. The dungeons were EXTREMELY repetitive
6. Unfair game design such as when kiritos guild got slaughtered

I think it will be better than genshin. The problem with genshin is that it also has to cover the mobile players which kind of hinders the game progression due to the lack of the storage and so on. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think blue protocol is for pc only.

Animation wise though this game blows Genshin's character expressions out of the water. I agree with Peon's reaction, it's like actually watching an anime so the story's gonna be a treat based on my CBT play as well. The biggest problem I had with genshin was it's resin system, the moment I reached AR30+ my daily playtime was from hours to just mere minutes which is quite sad as Genshin's party system in a way is fun to play until Blue Protocol releases.

I love how Japanese MMO UIs are optimized for controllers
Gives me SAO vibes, and I believe it is Namco Bandai that makes the SAO single player games as I have a few. Looks promising honestly, wonder if there will be player housing, fishing and all that good stuff. I was reading up on release dates, and initially it's only releasing in Japan around 2021 with the rest of the world be able to join in around 2022. Having said that it's all subjective, and obviously with the worlds problems right now, releasing it could be sooner or further off.
The boss introductions really remind me of sword art online, i wonder if they got inspiration from that show.
I don't get the hate on Genshin tbh, people be acting like it's not possible to enjoy more than 1 game lol
I like Genshin and this game also looks very cool too.
true
I feel like the map CON opinion can be easily regretted when a translated version is released and how easy it'll become considering how well you progressed over 9hours with a foreign language. This can somewhat be applied to the UI CON opinion as well.

I’ve been waiting a long time for something like this to pop up, as the last pve mmo that even made me enjoy myself was Dragon Nest before my level 70 char got wiped out due to a host change for the game servers.
