For people watching this video in the future; While the Resin System still gates a lot of progression in the lategame, the developers have heard our voices and have started making events with rewarding loot that doesn't require resin, and are looking to further fix the system.
@@DIABLos241 well... The resin system is still realy bad tho. But there are indeed improvemnts like the treause compass that helps us find chests when we are close to being done with a region si at least there is more we can do after the queats are done. Here's a more convincing argument:the comunuty is far more active than what we mmo players are used to. There are dozens of popular content creators for the game and whatnot.
If you take it slow and aren't trying to super grind the game, it's not so bad. I've been playing for a month now (AR 34) and it's not that bad personally. I think it's just a matter of how fast you want to buff your characters. So far I haven't had a resin issue when needing to buff my characters as I saved stuff early on. I tend to play it more for the gathering and exploring than anything. In the end it's better just to just take it slow and not worry about levels and artifacts until you need to ^^ It's much more fun to just let yourself wander rather than push through the stories and quests all at once.
@@stannosaurus same i already reached AR 51 with just slow grinding and just do shit and be done with it. alot of people are angry cause they try to sweat alot in a game that has its own pace.
They just released a behind the scenes for how they made the Dragonspine area. And let me tell you- despite all the drama and toxicity (from the community), the devs are def very passionate about the game. It's no wonder that it looks great. Well, It still has flaws ofc like the grind fest and crappy resin system, but they are currently stepping in the right direction with all the buffs and improvements. It's just a step for now, but there's hope in the future. Remember, Honkai Impact 3 didn't start well either, yet look where it is now.
@@morsmagne And best part is that it's best to let it stay as a PVE. Making it a MMORPG would be an absolute nightmare. Klees bombs everywhere, beyblades spinning all the time, a wall of Jeans and Ventis waiting to push you away, etc. The toxicity and stuff the community has shouldn't be transffered to a MMO lol
@@cheekyfantasy1314 that was me from 2 months ago now that im an AR 55 close to 56 so i can basically chill and still be able to do get most if not all of the event stuff so in a way playing is more fun for me now since im not too pressed to farm and grind i suppose
@@SnowJester he's chasing the bag I respect it it doesn't hurt me to watch a shitty afk arena ad every once in a while. You can always just skip the video too
Great video as always! As free-to-play player I can tell you I absolutely love this game. But please for the love of everything that is holy, don't try to rush to the end-game. Take your time and explore. The lack of end-game content is a real damper on what is an amazing game. It will get better, just take your time and enjoy it.
Makes you wonder why they even added an "end-game" at all if most of the game's enjoyment comes from the singleplayer aspect, probably just to make you waste money on the resin system considering its useless at any other time in the game. Gotta get on that sweet money printing mobile waifu train somehow
I agree, but it's also to keep players playing as much as possible to stretch the time until the new cities come out. We have 2 of the 7 citys and the second is even completed Overall I'm fine with it, the more money that they get the more story we get.
@@timthetoolmantaylor9048 well part of it is slowing people down while they work on more of the main story trying to string people along and to try to keep them on their game so they are still playing when the next updates come out. at least i think so. (Not trying to say that its a good thing)
I think they are waiting to release new content and don't want people to get too far ahead of the curve for when it's released. It's awful if you try to grind after all questing and exploring has been done. But I don't think that's the intention. However that begs the question as to why they even have daily semi grindable dungeons in the first place. It's odd. Everything is great untill end game. So yea, feel no rush to get there people.
Yeah i heard alot about my friends complaining about how there is not enough content. While im just exploring more about the world unlocking chests and doing puzzle in ruins which are rewarding and more fun to do. Ive been collecting treasure chest that are quest items and it seems like i havent even activated those quest.
I feel Genshin Impact is the LEAST predatory gacha game. Nevertheless, it's still a gacha game so you're s slave to their RnG ratio which is quite harsh. Nevertheless, I'm having fun playing it.
@@luminatron Rolling is not necessary, the game doesn't force you, it's a luxury. Of course it's quite attractive to get new characters but they're not necessary and they have to make money some way

I've played this game for a couple of months now and I am AR 50. The beginning of the game was absolutely stunning. I loved the freedom of this game. The world was packed with puzzles just like you see in the video. The AR 30 block that everyone's talking about is when the game slows down. The quests are all done, the chest and puzzles are found and solved. All that's left is grinding, upgrading characters and doing spiral abyss. But don't get me wrong, the game did not become worse. You may not be able to play it hour upon hours like in the beginning, but it still keeps you engaged cos now you need to plan out ahead of time the most optimal way to upgrade your characters since drops change every day and you don't want to be on low resin when it meters. Plus, there are a lot of events going on and patches come out relatively often (I am currently on 1.1, but 1.2 will be out in just 5 days from now) When it comes to gacha and monetization, I must say that it is not at all a 'pay to win' game. You can play the game without spending a penny on it and still have as much fun with it as whales do. I've even seen people taking it as a challenge and playing the game with only the 4 starter characters (traveler, Amber, Kaya, Lisa) and, trust me, they do well. But, I admit, for people that are vulnerable to gambling this game can be dangerous. Like VERY dangerous. Another good thing about GI, though, is its lore. It is actually very deep and interesting to explore. The main plotline is intriguing, all playable characters have their own individualities and stories behind the scene that are waved perfectly into the world lore. Even random NPCs have stuff going on. And, this is a personal opinion of a girl, but I love the mob designs cos they are not gross. I enjoy this game much more cos I am not forced to see stupid ass undead of nasty goblins all the time. Instead, there are cute round slimes ( • • ) that you can toss around. There are literally no ugly mob in the game and I love it. It makes the world so much more pleasing to the eye
I gotta agree with you. I'm AR51 and it does slow down a lot. The events are really what keep me logging in as well as the story quests(NGL, I simp for the Cocogoat). And knowing that we literally only have 2/7ths(Minimum!) of the map keeps me excited for what comes next.
I'm still at AR35 and I haven't even finished exploring. I'm taking it slow and so far it's really really fun. I read the books that we collect and some are really really funny and some sad.
@@aetherslanding9660 I just got introduced with the coco goat not a few seconds ago. The fact that I hear the "coco goat" actually exist is intriguing o.o
Im currently ar31 f2p with 1 5 star and i love the game. The resin system however need a massive rework, time gating most of the content and progression is annoying.
@@Fallonmoon Sweet money? Content after AR30 (level 30) -- there is more content coming ... the story has 8 chapters, each with 3 Acts. (prologue + 7 chapters). Each chapter is focused on a a region based on one of the 7 elements (that the characters powers are based on). At launch the game included the first 5 Acts (3 prologue acts + 2 acts for chapter 1). At launch the game includes the (air and earth) regions. The developer has officially told us that they will be releasing new content every 6 weeks. The next 3 release dates were also given (Nov 11th is the next content drop). I believe they said the next release will be the ice region. It sounds promising that the developer has an aggressive road map to release content at a good pace. Kind of jealous of the people who start playing in 2021 and have an insane amount of content. The resin issue that people are complaining about is sort of true and sort of not. It is intentional to some extent to slow progress as they release more content (people will out level the future content, which is 6 weeks away [from launch - nov 11th]). I'm currently AR40 there is plenty of stuff you need to do (resources to get to level up your characters, weapons, and character talents) so even if we had more resin, we would have a new constraint on progress being resources (like 20% of the resources needed require resin... ~80% don't). Does it suck they are slowing us down? yes. Does it hurt to not progress? yes. BUT imho it would be worse to out level the new content before it is released, then be finished with it in a day or 2 then back to whining about there being no content. idk. like I said I am at level 40... it is my fault for no life-ing the game ... it is just so darn fun! :-) [note: you can buy more resin with real money... it is a F2P game and the dev is clear it is a gotcha game... that is part of their monetization system... yes, that sucks too... but amazing game for free. Curious if this will make "immortals phoenix rising" a more popular alternative)
Just because its made in japan doesn't make it japanese you doofus. Zelda isn't based on japanese/Asian culture. Genshin Impact has a massive location dedicated to chinese culture. Each location is based on a specific culture to capture the feel of that location.
The gacha system will never not be controversial... but I think something amazing that a lot of people don’t keep in mind is how a gacha system can work. Yes it’s designed to squeeze a constant stream of money out of their players, but it also means there’s going to be a (semi-)constant stream of updates, events, and new content. People who discover this game 1-2 years from now are going to have an absolute blast
Your comment aged like a fine wine my dear friend. I have started this game a couple of days ago, and i am having an absolute BLAST playing it. I hit AR30 in no time... amazing game
Absolutely spot on. Any new player that started today will have more than 150 hours of free content just from exploring and story quest, and its gonna get even more as more region is release. For a free game, 150 hours of pure content sound absolutely amazing.
I find it super fun, i only put in a couple hours a day and progress pretty slowly but i love just running around exploring. They should put in more variations of enemy types and add more zones for the different Gods.
Yeah they have real life countries they're basing each zone on. Mondstadt is germany and Lyuie is china Forgive my spelling I dont remember the actual spelling for the ingame names. The next act is basically high mythology egypt, one is france, the fatui are from russia which will also be a playable zone.
4 months later update: F2P players are doing great. Grinding allows you to clear endgame content! Low spenders benefit the most, if you spend more than 5 dollars per month then the value starts getting worse, if you spend less then that its the most bang for the buck! Overally I think the gacha is forgiving compared to other games, and its not P2W
This video was randomly picked by my UA-cam since I'm out of resin... And I'm reluctant to post a comment here cuz this video and comments are from 4months ago and then this comment surprised me which posted 4hrs ago ahaha.. Anyways everything you stated are true, this is PVE game and no Ranking system not even VIP pack system, being competitive is not even an option which gives you freedom to play the whole game without spending money... well the gacha is still a gacha but Genshin RNG system are much more forgiving and F2p friendly if you ask me compared to other gacha hell games out there (*cough* FGO *cough* Azurelane *cough* Epic7)... And since the game didn't had PVP system I enjoy it a lot more cuz it's preety frustrating these days that every game out there specially on mobile could turn you into a madlad anxious about weekly rankings or bless you Anxiety and frustration for not winning the daily PVP quest, so I could say that this game is the only gacha game that I never regret to play with and the wait for the game that will satisfy me is over... The only downside is the game became too easy for the endgame player such as whales and leviathans like oneshoting everything and nothing on the current state of the game could challenge em anymore... Also the lack of content and main story progession that most players cared about (this is one of the game that had interesting lore even the NPCs are interesting too) which is kinda a letdown if you're not a fan of cliffhanger... Tehehe
Yeah man same thing happened to me 1st Amber but later it was good. Guess what I got 5 damn Fishcls as a f2p. But also Xinqei, Ningguangg and Diluc. And four 4* weapons. (In total of like 130-140 pulls)
@@edhikurniawan not that good tho, it just adds one extra shot and that deal 20% of the original damage. But tbh in aimed shot it kinda annoyed me a bit cuz the shot went a bit lower
@@masterdementer I'm looking for that. Most people don't be know when the aim mode open, wether Fischl or Amber they have the same attack speed. And the aim shot has better damage than the first two of the normal shot combo. It took practice with ballistics but it worthed.
I have been playing this game for 3 months now, and it's F2P friendly.I started top up in this game last week because of the quality that they gave us and they deserve to take my money
Lol it's not F2P friendly, not if you want to get the characters you want or good artifacts to unlock their full potential, and let me not get started on weapons
Made by an Asian developer, but the series is clearly European in tone, with a much more solidly Germanic/Anglo-Saxon aesthetic. Genshin, as far as I can see has far more hallmarks of East Asian game design and aesthetic, that being, a combination of all the Eastern and Western cultures, pretty much.
I love seeing people’s reaction to this amazing game I’ve been playing for 3 months and I’m at AR 53 now and haven’t had to spend a dime if your smart with the Primo gems the game gives you and you do your daily Commissions you’ll easily be able to save up for certain characters you want. Unfortunately most first impressions never get to that part so it first the game looks like it’s reaching for your wallet but as long as you don’t have a gambling addiction you’ll be fine.
Is there a point to going beyond AR50? Seems like everything you really need will be unlocked by then, and the rates haven't improved significantly enough to warrant further ascension ...
Resin won'T stop you playing free after AR30, only will slow you down. A lot of new quests unlock around AR35 so its just some down times you have to go trough. The resin system is far less of an issue during events, you get so much stuff to do. There are a lot of events so far. You can play all content as F2P, but it is quite grindy at some point.
While it is gatcha, non of the content in the game is blocked by this, you can easily build a good team with free characters you get and progress through the content, the gatcha system might effect you if you have no self control.
To all people who might read this, this Game has been improved by such a crazy amount, a week ago we got a whole new area, new bosses, events are coming every week, its an insane Game - try it out ✌🏼
The thing is, this is a pve game, you absolutely noooooooo pressure at all. Play how you want, f2p or p2p in your own pve game is really on your own speed. I pushed so hard when it launch, also worried about ressin system, but given i work a lot, I haven't running into any problem, it also force you to not play game too long. the co-op is nice, and knowing more content coming. I love this game
"Duplicates and useless shit" I know this video is two months old so you probably figured this out already but duplicates are useful too! They level up character constellations and the weapons can be used to refine and level up each other :) But yeah the gacha system is the only thing that frustrates me about the game everything else is amazing
Interesting looking back on this after a change of perspective. I took a step away for a year and when I came back I thought about the money to value ratio. In terms of playtime, I've done over 2000 real hours in this game. This is a mix of exploration, resin, quests and progression. Now I believe all up in the past 3 years I've spent around $1000 (AUS). That's a price ratio of $1:2hours. If we turn to a triple A title which costs $90 for say 40 hours that's a ratio of $1:30mins give or take. Keep in mind that at no point do you need to spend money. There's so much content now that continuing to progress will earn you more than enough to make two competent teams. Many of the 4-stars have been buffed to be more viable. F2P players aren't gate-keeped from any content. When I returned to the game, I wasn't taken to the cash shop once. Not at all. I forgot it even existed until a week into playing when I remembered the wish system. I find Hoyolabs approach generally free player friendly, and the game itself is also incredible welcoming to new players. There's only two things that I still evaluate negatively; the monetisation at its core has predatory features. Which is a problem with all gacha. I wish they moved away from making wishes expensive, and moved more toward cosmetic options. The other thing is that the end-game content still suffers from its original problems. Repetition of the same content. I'm going to burn out again with the game at some point because of it. Overall I commend Hoyolabs as a company, even if I condemn some indvidual things. We need more regulations and protections in place when it comes to the gambling gacha provides, just like the push against lootboxes.
I'm sort of hooked on this game and it is normally not my style of game. It has an addictive quality in order to make you want to do more! The developers did state they were bringing new content out for end game situations every 6 weeks. I don't think they were expecting it to make over 100 million week. Now they are taking end game content seriously. Thank you for covering it, Peon. I think you do an amazing job of covering games, and you give a lot of insight into them.
I'm one of the people that play since the early patch of Genshin Impact and never ever single time I've had felt burdened and bored playing it. As F2P, I can play anytime I want and save wishes for character that I need. I did not have most 5* but 4* is just equal as 5* and I did not regret using 4*. Genshin Impact are casual-friendly and it did not force you to play unless it is limited event. I've been thinking to restart Genshin Impact with new acc after the game covered almost 70% of the canon story because I know I will not regret it and the story is really good! 🤭🤭
Man I love coming back to early genshin videos for the sheer excitement of exploring. Now I'm AR 60, most events are repetitive, dialogue writing personally gets worse along side story writing. But the early things that they got right still holds up. Combat is still solid, sound tracks are still solid too, new region exploration is so much fun taking in new environments and puzzles, and so much more hidden quests that you can't really track with the journal (requiring more brain power to complete). I kinda wish they add more incentive to do coop other than more friendship exp so you can get the namecard faster, because the multiplayer community is probably one of the more fun aspects of this game and the thing that's keeping this game alive, either helping new players or just cooping a weekly boss or domain, meeting funny randos, etc.
What do you think of Sumeru so far? I'm almost AR 60 and am enjoying it. Story for the archon is good, no spoilers but ill say it's been interesting. Dendro element is fun, just need more characters, but it is fun using the Traveler after not touching him for many moons.
@@vendarykismet6858 this game is not "p2w" stfu dude😒. I'm ar41 and only dumped 50$, THAT'S IT. I've gained plenty of primos and free shit through ar1-41.

I agree with your overall assessment of the game at the end, but I'd also add to that that you could come back later when they add more regions and story content since that will be just as fun as the initial game probably.

I've reached adventure rank 40. Currently I just log in for daily commissions, use up my resin and do what I can on my battle pass. After that I pop off and wait a couple hours for a few more charges then call it a day and do something else. Will be exciting when new content comes to the game. Fortunately, Mihoyo have already acknowledged that the Resin system is an issue so hopefully they will be less aggressive with their monetization when they have more content available to offer players. I feel that currently the system is in place to deliberately stunt progression to give them time to create more content, as well as earn more money to create new content. Fingers crossed they make some positive changes to the resin system. This game has so much potential and could be the best of its genre with some specific changes.
Getting duplicates is important because you can upgrade the character by using them(same goes for weapons as well). There's a basically passive skill system called Constellation for characters and Refinement for weapons.
I really like this game, its still small in scope(considering 5 major regions are still coming in the future) but even then, still alot of fun! Only downsides so far are as u said the Resin system and the fact that once u explored eneugh and got most of the loot, it gets very boring. There's also the fact that once u are around Adventure Rank 25 the grind really begins, even to get to new story quests, altrough they are all very good and polished so its worth it.
I've been playing it without spending anything till date and having a lot of fun. The game is good, although due to the nature of its combat loop it can become tedious if played for a long period at a single sitting. Regardless, if I do hit a paywall, I'm going to quit without a second thought. I don't think that's going to happen...but then again, since I don't obsess over every new character, I'm probably not the target audience for this game's micro transactions. Also, the Divinity series (the newer entries at least) has all kinds of spell interaction.
Everything is designed to extract money from you if it's a form of entertainment. This isn't a con, but a means of determining how much value you put into playing a well developed, and not to mention quite challenging end-game. Over-spending is purely a personal problem, and if you're not a Neanderthal coupled with the patience of a fly, the softlocks aren't that bad. Stopping at AR 30 I feel is short sighted (you currently wouldn't get the full story this way anyway as additional content has been added), and negligent of the fact it's designed to mirror an MMO style, which often have hundreds of hours of content. I would say it's at LEAST worth half that, even if you fully intend to never play it again after you get the story out of it. Personally, I've already put in well over a hundred hours; I'm AR 37, and I've not even finished the story, but god damn is this game fucking gorgeous, and the quality of life coupled with the stamina bonus rewards... Exploration _feels_ good. If you plan to play this game for a long period buy the Battle pass for $10, and the welkin moon blessing for $5. Doing both per month is a whole $15, and injects you with tons of materials, and a great weapon selection box. Just skip it all together and watch a youtube synopsis for the story? It's good, but like... Not worth 30 hours if that's what you're after. Besides, Why would you stop before you can even do medium tier content like the Abyssal Spire?
Although, Genshin Impact has its own flaws, the crews of MiHoYo are listening to our criticism and are continously looking forward to fixing the game. They sometimes hold surveys to take your opinion into account, and they'll give you rewards for it too. Some people hate the gacha, but I think it's actually very fair. The crews of MiHoYo have worked so hard to make the game enjoyable for us and even making it available for f2p players (such as me). They deserve the money the players paid and plus, the players most of the time get what they want too. So it's a win-win. They also have a pity system, the more you roll after getting a 5* item, the more chance you get to receive them again. The money they well deserved didn't make them greedy. They progressed more and more to make us feel satisfied. Bringing in more details to the lore, characters, and events where we get a lot of rewards for. Even though MiHoYo hasn't given me a limited 5* character, I still respect them a lot for their hard work and open mindedness to criticism.
I've been playing nonstop since christmas, and I just hit Rank 50. I havent noticed the content slowing much yet. I have a lot of characters, 5 of which are 5 stars, and I havent spent a penny. Genshin is still a great game at endgame if you havent spent anything.
When you climb walls press jump to go faster. Elements are a big thing in this game. Everything is separated into elements. Instead of running out of stamina and drowning just freeze the water with Kaeya and walk over it. I found secret chests like that
I’m AR 38 and totally f2p. Basically you just need Resin to upgrade your character. Not that the game is capped by resin, it just lacks of end game stuff to do. Already got 4 characters almost maxed. Got almost 300 summons as a f2p. It is fun, after completing almost all puzzles and chests, I just play 1 hour max a day. This game just needs more endgame stuff to do. Btw absolutly all content can be done with f2p char. Without summoning...

I dare anyone reading this to play this game to approximately level 30 and not be enchanted and possessed and blissfully addicted. Its a drug. Get passed the Anime if you are not a huge fan or have been burned by *All those crappy Asian game prior* and just play to level 30 but take your time. Read quests, pay attention, discover the zones and learn the combat, which is SO fun! I have a rotten degree in game design that I barely used before becoming fairly ill with a autoimmune illness BUT I have played EQ2/WoW and other MMORPGs at very end game and was even the Guild leader of a ranked US Raid team for a good while. I also was paid to beta new games for major PC game magazine. At the time many of those game I reviewed were Asian developed. All promised much. All were utter Shit! GI is an utter mind blowing Experience; a breath of fresh air that stole my heart. This is what a finished Game looks like from a team of passionate developers. The Flaws are few and in between; the greatest being the FOV and of course the Asian Grind! _Though you grind through various stories and dungeons for gearing not just random mobs for much needed XP as most older Asian MMORPGs go._ The world is stunning. The story brilliant and moving with great voice acting and characters you begin to identify and love. The zones or maps are beautiful in layout and real estate/architecture as if some designer team took the time to meticulously & artfully place every stone, frog, bamboo tree and waterfall with utter passion and precision. The Chinese zone Liyue is beyond breathtaking and enjoyable to explore. The written scripts for quest dialogue, _(when not voiced)_ are exceptionally well done. Some side stories are captivating and enchanting, unique and easy to follow. Sooo many fun puzzles scattered randomly throughout the zones, it gives the game a nostalgic _Sand Box_ feel. _I Love running around killing boars with my bow on Ganyu oh and lets not forget pigeons and storks._ The combat thus far for it's dynamic style is fluid and flawless - SO much fun to play out while layering various elements. The tool-kits of Most of the Heroes are exceptional both from a play style perspective and programming/math and are balance out well. What I began to discover and enjoy about GI was that it got it all right. It was both unique and *Different* _(especially in regards to it's Shinto based fantasy lore/story)_ but *the Same* as many of our favorite MMORPGs; a perfect mixture. The meta thus far is solid. There are flaws with this _(almost finished)_ game, however they are few and with Monthly surveys that give the players a nice sum of in game currency; surveys with very personalized questions regarding a recent event or Hero, miHoYo has already proven that they listen to their player base and that they care by early in game through changing various minor aspects of the game UI or combat balance etc. per player request. They are quick on updates and fast on squashing bugs as well. Best of all they have a future vision in place as to the evolution of this game and it's progression chapter by chapter or expansion by expansion. Happy gaming all ♥ PS: ...gotta love a game that does "flight" or Gliding well. Koodos miHoYo!
I got to here via the related videos. I initially googled for "genshin impact review", then click videos, and skip IGN GameSpot, until I got to 1 random review. It was alright; but boy I'm glad your video was recommended (although I am a subscriber). This a realization for me that your reviews gives much more valuable insight to a game versus the traditional office-made game reviews.
It's not exactly "good" but it's worth mentioning that the slot machine mechanics work on a pity system. The way it's "balanced" at the moment is you are 100% going to get a 5 star character or weapon every 90 wishes. If you get a 5 star earlier than that, it resets the % back down, but it's a nice ray of hope for F2P players knowing that at least some progression is happening.
I agree with the fact that it seems like the game was released with not enough content, although next month theres a huge 1.1 update patch that should fix up a lot of problems and give players way more things to do.
well if players are already AR30+ then they should have already finished the intended current contents. Everything beyond AR30 right now is to prepare for accessing future contents that will require high level AR to access such as the upcoming final Quest for Act 1 storyline in Update 1.1 which should cover the AR 30 to 40 contents. Attempting to hit AR 40+ is basically stretching it into the 1.2 and above content update ranges.
@@varesso7568 That is up to perspective since it has been known the current content on release will be up to Liyue content which covers from AR 1 to AR 30. AR 31+, being Inazuma and the other kingdoms revealed in the Season 1 story trailer, is going to be for update 1.1 and above. Mihoyo probably already planned their release schedule already long before release of Genshin Impact being my best guess a 1.5 to 2 year plan for season 1 and another 1.5 to 2 year plan for Season 2 storyline if they follow through with their new major update every 6 weeks plan. Heck, a recent interview by Mihoyo revealed they already have planned a 3 year plan for their other game Honkai Impact 3rd to cover the Earth story Arc and by 2024 there is a new story Arc for continuing Post-Honkai Odyssey storyline involving exploration of other worlds.
@@orrthehunter so, after youre done with the quests that come live with the 1.1 update in november, youre stuck in the same content draught again where your time in genshin consists of hunting t1 chests and dumping your resin in 10-15 min. thats an impressive 2 year plan honestly
Hey Peon. You're still one of my favorite UA-camrs, hands down. Your voice is awesome and your accent and humor is just right up there for me. The editing is of someone who already mastered the craft and I'm guessing you know how good you became along the years so I won't shower you in compliments. I'd just love to see you stick to a game or two and talk more about it. I love your first impressions and ill always see those videos, but I think you could use a new segment or two. I know the world of mmorpg's has been stale but if there is some game out there that could refresh and widen your viewerbase and get you that money €€€, you should try it out. I mean, I get the ads, you have bills to pay, I'd do the same probably. But with steadier content and a focus on a game or two you'd make the same money and give us some more Peon, which is what we all want in all honesty. These are just my two cents and be free to dismiss it if you are going through shit or just don't feel like changing it up. Cheers mate, keep being an awesome dude
Your thought at the end is spot on Great game to play around for a bit but I cannot recommend going tryhard especially if you are weak to *"surprise mechanic"* lol, it's a go big or go broke kind of game
Bro, everyone is there to extract money from other people, not just Chinese and Koreans. It's capitalizm. I've been playing this game for like 5 months and haven't spent more than x2 $4.99 (Blessing of Welkin) yet I have 5 rarest characters in the game. It feels good when you save up gems and get the character you want. It's not that bad. People get scared by ''gatcha'' way too much. I play other gatcha games as well, like E7 and PGR for example and I haven't spent any money on those games. There are ways to farm your pulls in these games. If I had to give an example for a shitty dangerous gatcha game out there atm, it'd be ''Vindictus''. You basically earn in game money with selling gatcha costumes on that game and that is the wrong shit.
This was a Great First Impressions, my only gripe is that you absolutely dont have to spend any money to have fun at end game, yes the Resin system doesnt allow u to fight bosses endlessly which means it will take you longer to collect the items needed to level up your weapons and characters, but the main fun in the game comes from the exploration which as youve seen you can spend days running around finding all the hidden chests and quests throught the world, unless you cheat and websearch the interactive map. The primogems you need to get new characters can easily be collected without spending any money also just by exploring and playing the game, 2 primogems per chest, and there are thousands of chests to find in the world, and you only need 160 primogems to unlock a new 4 star character with a chance of getting a 5 star character.
Yeah, I dowloaded it on launch cuz I legit confused this for Blue Protocol. The multiplayer in Genshin (at least at launch) was kind of meaningless. I hear they're adding raids and stuff, but I doubt I'm going back.
I really don't get the complaints of lack of content. There is SO much quest content that's just out there in the world for you to find, and stories that are told through repeating Daily Commission quests. I've got hundreds of hours in the game with zero money spent and I'm still finding new quests and stories. It just doesn't spoon-feed it to you, you have to find it. EXPLORE more, people! The game tries to entice you to explore for a reason! My only complaint is lack of cross-save/crossplay on the PS4 version.
Everything, was the including all the new releases, events and regions are entirely F2P friendly and the game is utterly amazing for it. However the game tries to get you to spend money with the release of new characters and weapons. To get these new char and things you “want” you’re heavily weighted to spend money - the thing is, you really don’t need any of it. All of the game world is 100% free, you’ll get enough variety of char and tools to complete any content, it’s all PvE so there’s no need to have all these crazy powerful things. It’s a weird human psychology thing that they’re only making money on this game for things that don’t really effect how you enjoy it.
I love this game, its really fun, world is beautiful, characters are cool. But the Gacha system breaks my heart and my wallet. I just want to direct purchase the characters I want, and Ive already spent too much money on this game...
I bet many of you feel the same way. But getting to watch somebody you “know”, finally play a game you love, and they react like this, it is a fantastic feeling 😊
5:20 Correction "Collect all the Husbandos" Currently for my main team I'm rocking Xiao, Albedo, Zhongli, Xingqiu and for my Team Two I got Diluc, Childe, Chongyun, and Bennett now tell me, where are the Waifus? Well certainly there are, the latest being the adorably spooky Hu Tao, then before her, Ganyu, then in the future Ayaka, but just pointing out that you can play cool male characters as well. AR 55 btw
The game is indeed amazing early on, but yes, once you get to like AR30 or so, I found it to be pretty tedious and limiting and having to eventually just grind chests to get to AR35+ for more story made me quit.
Since the game is actually this good up to level 30, the company should just try to do a full on SP game that you pay full price upfront. That whole gacha system that awaits you at the end is why I haven’t really gotten into it. The first few hours were fun. The game has potential without setting up a cash grab trap.
Not sure if anybody else has commented this or if you figured it out, but if you're falling and out of stamina so you can't glide, use a basic attack while falling and you're do a plunging attack, taking now damage when you hit the ground. Saves you if you run out of stamina while climbing :) Also getting duplicates of characters isn't useless, each duplicate gives you an item that you can use to upgrade their "Constellation" which gives them upgrades to abilities and stuff. Not sure if you figured that out yet too.
I was really waiting to see if you were gonna make a video about genshin impact, and the wait is now worth it XD. Enjoy the game man and hope that your rolls are blessed!

While the Resin System still gates a lot of progression in the lategame, the developers have heard our voices and have started making events with rewarding loot that doesn't require resin, and are looking to further fix the system.
Thanks, I was thinking if I should start playing this game. You have convinced me.

It's odd.

Plus, there are a lot of events going on and patches come out relatively often (I am currently on 1.1, but 1.2 will be out in just 5 days from now)
When it comes to gacha and monetization, I must say that it is not at all a 'pay to win' game.

Yep.

Peon, you use copy character to upgrade Constellation => more power to the character & you get resources to buy item or characters in shop
"Duplicates and useless shit" I know this video is two months old so you probably figured this out already but duplicates are useful too! They level up character constellations and the weapons can be used to refine and level up each other :)
But yeah the gacha system is the only thing that frustrates me about the game everything else is amazing

Dendro element is fun, just need more characters, but it is fun using the Traveler after not touching him for many moons.

i love it when games do not include invert aim/look. really shows the devs care about all types of players.
Its been fix now
I've been playing it without spending anything till date and having a lot of fun.
Even though MiHoYo hasn't given me a limited 5* character, I still respect them a lot for their hard work and open mindedness to criticism.
bro got c1 bennet on the first day of playing and "its useless trash" lmfao
I've been playing nonstop since christmas, and I just hit Rank 50. I havent noticed the content slowing much yet. I have a lot of characters, 5 of which are 5 stars, and I havent spent a penny. Genshin is still a great game at endgame if you havent spent anything.
The biggest flaw is the resin system, which is apparently getting worked on.
"Im so high im almost in space"
Same.
Mora is more of a pain in the ass than resin, imo. The mora costs leveling up... literally everything at higher Adventure ranks is nuts.
So far it feels like a huge beautiful empty world to me, I really wish this was a MMO from the beginnning

_Though you grind through various stories and dungeons for gearing not just random mobs for much needed XP as most older Asian MMORPGs go._
The world is stunning.
_I Love running around killing boars with my bow on Ganyu oh and lets not forget pigeons and storks._
The combat thus far for it's dynamic style is fluid and flawless - SO much fun to play out while layering various elements.
Happy gaming all ♥
PS: ...gotta love a game that does "flight" or Gliding well.

IGN lol. This game was probably too hard for them.
@@orrthehunter it doesnt even that long to hit ar30+, kind of insulting to release a game that just ends after youve played it for a week

Exactly how I feel. I thought the game was fun but looking ahead at the gambling has killed any enthusiasm I had.

Not sure if anybody else has commented this or if you figured it out, but if you're falling and out of stamina so you can't glide, use a basic attack while falling and you're do a plunging attack, taking now damage when you hit the ground. Not sure if you figured that out yet too.
