Troy, I know it took a long time to make this video but I’m actually glad you have. The base tuning does have boost and turbo but the settings need to still be adjusted via OTA or LCD Program Box Pro. Using your XR10 settings, my XD10/D10 is amazing and haven’t changed a thing since. My RMX 3.0 KMW “CBNE” is so good now and I’ve actually driven it with no gyro. Don’t recommend it as I was having a rather awful track day when it happened.
Great tip I learned watching videos that now allows me to run the OTA fulltime onboard the car. Can change settings on the fly then switch to real-time analyzer on the app and the ESC resets the saved parameters. No need to turn the ESC back off and on
Yeah....but the XR10 Stock Spec (at half the price) still goes up to 32k drive frequency and has the brake frequency between 1k-16k. Honestly - that is overkill for 99% of users.
The older LED card - like is used with their crawler ESC, etc will NOT work with this ESC. After more and more testing, I suggest this OTA programmer: alnk.to/4BH6Sg1 The main benefit is the easy software upgrades as new ESCs come onto the market.
lol I was just about to mention the D-Like LP86 chassis as well. I am anxiously awaiting mine. Thinking of going brushed on mine, but I also kind of want to use a revolver 380 motor :D
Troy so the only reason I would pick this over the stock spec would be for the purple color but my real questions is do you think I would notice the difference using a stock mst brushless motor with this esc or not worth it just buy both upgrades I already have new gyro and servo so this will be my second upgrade
Sounds like a good deal to me. Be real careful with Aliexpress though - there are knockoffs on there as well. I get my stuff through AMain mostly so I don't have to worry.
@@RoadsideRCI’m in Toronto, would you say Amain would be the best choice cuz Ali dnt always ship to me(from china) and banggood if I’m not mistaken is an eu company.
Troy, have you had a chance to try the newer HW BL120 G2's Boost and Turbo compared to the fancier ones? At $50 it seems like a no brainer now for entry ESCs w these new features.
@@RoadsideRC Mine arrives next week. I have the XD10 plus the original & I'm running the HW fancy D10 10.5T motor in both rigs. it will be interesting to see your thoughts :D
Great video as always. I originally started with this esc and it was super nice to have the tuning ability from the Bluetooth on phone. I ended up selling the whole car to a buddy with it but it’s still holding up. My only complaint is that it is very pricey. You could get an Acuvance xarvis xx for about the same price or the Acuvance rad for cheaper and imo the Acuvance esc’s are much smoother in power delivery. Question I had with the shark and the gyd550, you enjoy normal or AVCs mode more?
Hello! Yes - this is not the ESC I typically suggest. I usually suggest cheaper ESC. They do well enough for drifting. With the GYD550, I believe we are running in AVCS now - but would need to double check. Love that gyro!
The one thing EVERYONE making that argument seems to forget is that Acuvance sells everything ala Carte. Fan is ala Carte, capacitor is ala Carte. Pretty much by the time you buy everything you need, the XD10 is actually cheaper. Never mind the fact that Hobbywing always has their stuff on sale. Nothing against Acuvance because they have great products. But comparing prices? They’re actually more expensive, my guy.

Awesome! Glad my XR10 settings helped you before .
We sometimes play with no gyro at our local track - just for fun and to watch everyone crash. :)

Fun! Thanks for sharing.
I am using a Stock Spec G2 and loving it on budget RD2.0 setup. Keep up the good work on your amazing videos !
Thanks, will do!
looks quite a job but a cool result
*🦘Au🦘💯full view always📺thumbs up👍have a great week😎*
Thanks for the visit!
The biggest difference with the drift specific ESC is being able to do 48k drive frequency and more incremental drive and break frequencies

Honestly - that is overkill for 99% of users.
I bought the stock spec and I have the last pro program box but I didn’t see boost or turbo
Here is where I setup the stock spec and was able to get the turbo and boost:

To program, Can you use the old LED Program Card (30501003)? or do ineed the newer ones

Orderd mine today for 155€ in Belgium..gona put it in my first drift rc RD2.0
Nice choice! Hope you enjoy drifting.
Let me know if you have questions.
You should try the DSD1 and LP-86 Chassis and do a review and comparison about the two😃

I have the DSD1 on order!
@@RoadsideRC Moar driftttsss! :D
Which chassis is that
It is the Shark conversion for the Yokomo chassis.
Have you used the hobbywing quicrun 10bl120 gen 2 esc ? If not can you do a video on it.
It is sitting on my workbench right now!

Hi there! You will want the motor and esc combo. That is what makes the big difference.
Are you planning on testing the new Hobbywing bl120 g2 that has turbo and boost? Thanks!
Yes! It is sitting on my workbench now!
@@RoadsideRCI just bought one to do a budget build on my rd2.0 with the flysky receiver/gyro

@1drededd Good question - I have been very happy with AMain myself.
It comes pre wired?
The wires are pre-installed on the ESC side. You then need to solder the battery plug and the wires to the motor.
