I was at this concert in Market Square Arena. If I remember right, it was festival seating. It was a great show. I’ve been to many John Mellencamp shows over the years and he gets better with time. He has switched his band up as his music has evolved. Great performer. Great bands. I especially liked this band.
His drummer Kenny Aronoff is one of THE best drummers!! He's played with many artists. I have a few of his cowbells which he autographed. He's incredibly talented!
Kenny is a legend. His podcast is are awesome. His stories are incredible. He’s got an interesting story about every singer/ musical group in the business.
Some people say this was an overdubbed video....I don't think so. Saw John Mellencamp 4 times in the 80's and his band and performance were both inpeccable!
Not many artists have managed to have pop/rock hits with a fiddle or accordion, but he had both in that song and that fiddle was right up front in the key moments of that song. Check out Paper In Fire from the same album (Lonesome Jubilee).
Awesome live performance of John Mellencamp - Check it Out. Great reaction video. I had an opportunity to see John live a number of times and it was amazing. The crowd would go crazy and hold on to every word.
I seen him on this tour at Rupp Arena in Lexington KY. Rocked it out. Awesome concert. Then seen him again in Knoxville TN on another tour. Same thing. Awesome performance! ❤️
It was definitely sold out. I stood in line to see him on the Scarecrow tour and it sold out by the time we got to the front of the line. They said hold on and we will see if he is going to play another show. He ended up selling out 3 nights at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis Indiana. He is from Indiana like me and he is just a great song writer and performer. He still lives here in Indiana and the dude has been married to like 2 super models but never fortog where he came from. Market Square Arena in Indianapolis was one of the best places to see a concert. I saw so many great bands play there before they tore it down. It was across the street from a police station and we used to tailgate and drink right across from them . They never hassled us. What great memories i have of that arena.❤

This is my favorite Mellencamp song.

This very tour was the biggest inspiration for Keith Urban to start his career
Damn...the shit I did in the 80s listening to that song. I'll never tell.
Believe it or not, I went to his daughter's wedding at his house in Bloomington, IN in 1988.

Seventies and early eighties was Sex, Drugs, Rock n Roll. JCM was a Real performer.
top line
My all time favorite is "Journey"
❤😊
Please react to "What Was". It's a Steve Perry song, but I don't think it was Journey.
new band for you....(Cadillac 3 ) band....(Tobasco and sweet tea) . promise you will move your body🙂
I think this concert sold out 7 times in a row.
John Mellencamp, one of only 3 great things to ever come out of Indiana........ Gus Grissom and the Jackson 5 were the others...
Check out Depeche Mode
Check out Boy George and Culture Club.
it's the record synced up... but that's ok
James Brown was his hero.
