For those wondering B&Q stands for Block & Quayle
And guess who drives for them 😂😂✋
No it’s stands for expensive DIY store merchant 😂😂
Never ever knew this 😂
@dct1 yeah, block and qualye are the last names of those who founded it Richard Block and David Qualye in 1969
Gotta say didn't expect Steve coogan becoming a hgv driver
Brilliant Stuff Jay & Thanks for the mention.Cracking View count for a video up 1 day Well Done Buddy ;0
My sat nav didn’t do too good but didn’t mind some nice places to see.
Hi Jay, if you are coming to Ireland again and happen to be doing the same drops (however unlikely). Don’t take the right in Birr just after 13:53 (not on recording), go straight towards Roscrea and on to Limerick that way. It’s a much better road with more motorway driving and has another large services too, if you needed one. SatNavs can take you down some smaller roads unfortunately. Try to get the Eircode (these are unique to each building) for the drop/pickup and preview the routes on Google maps. If you can at all stick to the N and M roads as much as possible. It will make your life easier. Some N roads, like the one from Birr to Borrisokane that you took can be crap too though.
I used to travel and work in Ireland some years ago now. The sat nav never seemed to work very well then. Whenever I asked a local for direction the detail they gave you of how to find the place was amazing. Dublin to Athlone was a regular trip and also orth to Cavan.
I love going to Ireland, you are a natural at this, I enjoyed this.
Another good video Jay. Hope you put in a complaint for how you were treated.
Best wishes from Galway Ireland hope all is well keep on trucking cheers Declan 👍👍
What rig are you driving yourself 👍
Nice to see u around finglas dublin
You got to within twenty Miles of me jay to limerick, out west where the best of Ireland is😉
The hotel at the top of the hill at rosslare is great for a pint in the evenings. There's a set of steps up from the port up to the hotel by God it takes some doing getting up them 😂 😂
A very good Wednesday evening buddy from Alan Shelley in Lowestoft buddy 👍
Tallaght is pronounced ‘Tal A’ 🤣. You could have parked overnight in the Circle K on the Ballysimon Road in Limerick. Less than 5 mins from where you parked.
Blimey that was a tight squeeze getting your truck off that ferry mate. Great Vid as always.
Hello ❤
Hi Jay , it's mad seeing you wheeling around my home town , Dublin . Tallaght is pronounced Tala .
Got caught up in the same clusterphuque going the other way. Got an email from Stena telling me the sailing was cancelled. I was already in Fishguard. Stena booked me on the Irish Ferries sailing from Pembroke. Can't complain really, just got home 4 hours late.
Excellent video Jay as always! Nice and tight on the ferry!! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 👍😀🚛
I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR TRIP TO IRELAND 🇮🇪 HOPE TO SEE MORE OF THEM GOOD LUCK 👍 FROM DUBLIN STAY SAFE BUD 👍 👍👍
I hope so too
Welcome to Ireland Jay from derry
Thats a new ferry on that route, they are still getting used to loading it. Sad to hear the food was shite. The staff and facilities on the previous ferry, the bluestar 1, were top class
Another great video, thank you.👍
Hello ❤
Great vlog as usual . Parking in Pembroke Dock:- Used to see 2-3 Irish trucks regularly on pier road by the travelodge a couple of minutes off the ferry.
Good 1 jay, after watching the 2 together, athlone is only 20 mins from me,, you got to see a bit of Ireland, that oscar wild ferry is only new to irish ferries,
👍☘️👍
Hello❤
Stena will always be the better crossing at all 3 ports. However, I'd still rather get Irish Ferries than the traitor boat (P&O)
Sound that pal very interesting love southern irland👍
Another great vlog Jay👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Cheers Jay for another cracking vlog, things seemed to go well in Ireland and then Irish ferries went and wrecked it all. Stay well 👌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice❤
Anything to do with brexit I wonder the ferries got altered a little I think
Brilliant vlog Jay, loved the scott andrews views..thank you for a tour of ireland😊
Great video for anyone wishing to start a driving career. Should do a video of the good and bad points of the Job. I drive a Van for the past 30 years. Its easier to turn around in. Drove from Kilkenny in Ireland to Ulannbatarr in Mongolia in a ford fiesta for Charity. Great fun. Check out the Mongol Rally. Cheers Frank. But you need to love driving. I used to drive 13 hour shifts back in the day non stop.
Getting of that ferry sure looked like fun, that was damn tight.
You must have drove past my moms old house in New Ross
Looked like you nearly smacked your head on that Learys trailer when you were getting off the ferry, it looked chuffin tight.
I'm amazed these young drivers survive, you phone the customer andask best way in ectra
You were less than 5 mins from my house at that B&Q in Limerick, that's mad 😄
You can call yourself a proper trucker now uve done a ferry trip 💪
Great blog Jay you did really well driving into our City Dublin 😊👍how did you mind trucking in ireland ? from Dublin did most my truck driving around Ireland and almost year in Canada some uk experience, I find trucking in Ireland a lot easier than uk , i know its bigger and more traffic ,but think deliveries are handyer in Ireland
Great vlog Jay 👍🇬🇧
I'm surprised that you didn't go on the M6 and M18 from Athlone to Limerick, it's more miles but still quicker.
The Irish ferries ship you where on was the Tallink star that went from Helsinki to Tallinn and it took 2 hours for that crossing, it done 4-6 crossings a day so it not great for anything longer, most truck drivers I knew who used the cabins where for a shower, shave and a shit. Since it was a short journey
Love watching your vlogs mate, no bullpoo!
Hello ❤
For a few years now on YT, ive been watching the wuckfit drivers that inhabit the UK (... might of been on a video myself for stupidity at a lax moment....I'd like to say i doubt it, but you never know). What does shock me are the motorists who think that HGV drivers can stop on a sixpence like todays cars and generally cut them up at randsom.. Audi drivers seem to be the worst from what I have seen... Any way I'm off topic. Passed my HGV around 25 years ago never took a job it in though, and after seeing the above mentioned on YT.. and watching the shite you have to go through Jay.. I'm glad I bloody didn't!!
Great video jay. So will you be a regular now on the ferrie going to Ireland ..
Not sure yet
The sat nav in Ireland is pretty much useless, get a map out prepare your route and always have an alternative route in case of delays, how do I know well I live in Ireland and on many occasions the sat nav will send you down roads no wider than a car never mind a truck, plus many roads have not been upgraded and follow the same route with bends for miles then through small towns with 90 degree turns to get through the town, saying that Ireland is beautiful and has a good main road systems between cities just don’t get sent down a L road or indeed some R roads, in the north the A roads are pretty good but some B roads need to be avoided, prepare in advance and have euros ready to pay the tolls, still a great place to visit people are very helpful and the Guinness is far superior in Ireland than anywhere else
From a car driver pov stena have the better ferries. Irish Ferries are ok so long as you are the on Ulysses the Epsilon is a dump. P&O are old and slow but the price includes food, but I wont use them after their carry ons in 2002. Left me stranded and didn't even attempt to book me unto a Stena ferry.
ulysses was a great ferry, others can be bad and a lot worse than in this vid, im returning to driving after a long time off so will be on ferrys again
Hello❤
Tallaght “Tal-ah” 👌
knew i was saying it wrong haha
There’s some crackers in Ireland, keep up the great VLOGS 👍
Been trying to fig your accent, midlands somewhere, did you get your hgv in forces (RCT) that’s where I got my one,tho never used it,those massive gun tractors used to scare me?
Nice one jay👍
Hello ❤
Great vlog jay
Thanks 👍
Really good video Jay lad 👍Will ya be doing any more Ireland trips?I’m originally from Stretford Manchester where I used to drive 8 wheel tippers.I moved to Castlebar County Mayo in October 21 where I drive van/truck delivering sportswear around Ireland.I know what ya mean when not on motorways over here and there aren’t many of them some of da roads you have to drive on are like bog roads although the bypass roads are decent enough.Don’t half miss Manchester and da tippers though 😢
Manchester ain't far away mate
Hi Jay great video mate 😊
Glad you enjoyed
Hello
Brother you had no business taking that rig through the city centre like that. The road you were on when talking about Ned Kelly's the M50 - it's like the M25 for Dublin and would have taken you right around the city from that second Murdocks drop to within a few hundred meters of that first B&Q 😂😂😂 that's what it was built for actually, to keep you outta the city! Close down that shitty satnav and use your phone nav - waaaaaay better in Ireland. Everywherein Ireland has an eircode now too. (*same as postcode) we don't live in the past anymore.......😅
on the ferrys where its super tight might be the only place mirror cams would be usefull ,looked like a good change from the normal do you fancy doing it regular
Nice one Jay least you made it home in one piece lol 🤣🤣🤣
should see Irish ferries reviews 😂 trustpilot 1.8, trip advisor 2.5 😂
I bet you where touching cloth getting off the Ferry haha, Nice Driving Again mate.
I was
Hello❤
Another great video. Thkught about doing international?
ireland is international haha
@truckerjay and its also just Ireland... haha talking like Spain Italy Germany. A week out there at a time
The joys of using ferries Jay - they are great at throwing a spanner 🔧 in the works.
How did you end up on Upper Camden Street in Dublin? Looking at you drops before and after they were nowhere near the centre of Dublin.
I'm guessing you now know how to pronounce Tallaght 😝 Will you be doing more Irish work in the future?
Hi Jay
my boy has started as a trucker
but what he said there is a lot of bad food places where to stop so why can you put it out to all the truckers where are the best servis stations and food to stop for
You have to pay for that food 🤮
And it doesn't matter how small or big the room is, you (the company) pay for the room then you can expect everything to be neat and clean.
Hello ❤
No back load handy haulage
Have u ever been to Derry or Belfast Jay
Hey jay would you put the details on about that power pack from the last vid
im making a review soon with a discount code. but its called bluetti
It’s just Ireland. Not Southern Ireland :) It stopped being Southern Ireland in 1922.
It's in the South of The Island of Ireland so it's Southern Ireland..😑
It’s the Republic of Ireland.
@@herbie70philipno just ireland, Republic of ireland is a football team😂
@@ianwatkins9602Where's Donegal then?? Southern???
Where did you get your strap storage box from that’s on the catwalk?
Custom made in our workshop
How long is the trip?
Tallaght pronounced talla the ght is silent
Irish Ferries by any chance???
Interesting video. Just for advice referring to Ireland as "Southern Ireland," and also part of the "Rest of the UK." is unlikely to endear you to people actually residing in Ireland.
Well when I get the job to Ireland I get north or south, no politics here
Always heard people say bad things about Irish ferries just from other truckers on UA-cam but for them to serve you pink chicken and watery curry is vile 🤢
Another warts and all blog of being a lorry driver lol don't think I will use Irish ferries
Irish ferries had problems with straping trucks and trainers instead of chaining them down
Tallaght = Talla haha Talight? Love it
Jay is doing 4 in a bed for ferries ha ha.
Tall-light lol, I suppose you could read it that way too lol, its tal- as in al, like alley. laght alright, ill give you this one, its LAA, as in latte, the ght is silent so tallaa if your English not tall as in big, Tallaght is like the Essex of Ireland, but you got Athlone bang on the first time, ath is like your version of ford, a ford across a river, so its looans ford essentially.
luke vernon could tell you few things about ferries lol
can't stand him cos he's a nob and encourages bullying on his forums.
luke cudnt but his logo head wud deffo tell a tail or too
Block & Quayle B&Q for one point
Is there a BNQ in Wigan answer no WIGAN !!!!
There is no such place as Southern Ireland !
You going to kelsall steam rally
not my cuppa
Hve you moved to mansfield now jay
no?
Irish Ferries have very rude staff in my experience.
SUTTON IN ASHFIELD
l live there also love the town
How’s plasman
probably ok?
the rest of the uk
theres more than one crossing between uk and ireland use your head man your supposed to be a proffesional driver
Didn’t know you were over wuda met up somewhere.
Second
YOU ARE NOT IN CORK, SO YOU ARE NOT IN "SOUTHERN IRELAND". YOU ARE JUST IN "IRELAND".
Next time you're over in Ireland Google eircode put the address in and it brings you to the door
