The follow up to the story is on another video titled “2 pallets missing” if any one is interested. The short story is he only paid the guys £100 and left but luckily Jay had a picture of his van with company details, so forklift driver blocked his yard until he paid up. 👍
1 it's not VOSA it's DVSA 2 can you turn sat nav volume down or off Can I ask I'm taken it you not passed your test long because it should have been ratchet straps not internals for that load or you should have crossed the straps
i work in a supermarket those highland spring shippers are a pain to unload. the 12 packs of the smaller bottles(same goes for the nestle ones) are worse when they are loaded on a pallet with other soft drinks.
Well that's a bit of a cliff hanger!!! Come on we need to know the full story! I've had them shity plastic pallets in the back of my van, despite being properly strapped the thing just wanted to slide about even when cornering very slowly, sometimes it's a massive weight off to tip a load.
We do plastic half euros of water to Aldi. So 66 halfs (33 euro spaces) absolute nightmare of a time they slide like mad on the bed. Everywhere else we take cheps, just don’t get why anyone uses plastic pallets for weight.
I’m on holiday in Scotland at the moment, I seem to be following a lot of trucks doing 50 to 56mph on roads that are supposed to be 40mph for HGVs, nobody seems to care much as it saves everyone trying dodgy overtaking moves. Also, on the M8 around Glasgow, the speed limit dropped from 70 to 60 then to 50mph, I seemed to be the only person who made any attempt to slow down! 🤷♂️
Absolute worst nightmare seeing a huge bulge in curtain that wasn't their when loaded. Drinks should only be allowed on a box trailer 8 out of 10 shifted loads you see are bottles or cans of pop on a curtain. Those internals we all know are just their for show they ain't stopping anything moving. Ratchet straps obviously can't do them tight enough without damaging. You dealt with an incredibly stressful situation remarkably well and I know I wouldn't be that cool.
At least it was water. I've seen the carnage that a badly stacked pallet can result in. Both before and after the pallet was unloaded. DON'T bleme the driver, he didn't stack the pallet.
No, he just went around a corner too fast. There was nothing wrong with the pallets, thousands of pallets per day come out of the factory like that. It was driver error, nothing else
You messed up @truckerjay at 3:25 when you over exposed the colour to hind your number the next screen told the number you just put in. Hopefully you can re edit if you still need to hide it
You know the score mate, anything over 400 kg needs ratchet straps not internals, completely wrong type of trailer for that load, don't let your standards slip Jay, refuse them loads on plastic pallets unless they give you a box.
But you can't properly use ratchet straps with pallets of bottled water as the bottles will be damaged from the strap if tightened a little but, should of used anti slip mats under the pallets. Or double trap it with the internals if possible, but using ratchet straps without damaging the goods would be as useful as a chocolate teapot.
@@detset406 just thinking could ratchet straps be used with some edge protectors? I'm thinking of the long chunky ones that are often used on brick loads etc. Good job it was an ENXL curtain.
aw man Tesco in Bathgate is terrible. been there too many times to remember, think I'd rather not remember ha. one of our drivers got himself banned from the place just so he didnt have to go back 😂
yeah would have closed the motorway for a good couple of hours if you had stopped on the motorway, or at least a single lane closure, and very high and serious danger zone. maybe not pulling into a VOSA station idea though. Great to see you doing some vlogs for us again Jay. shame about the sudden ending though, modern technology who needs it!! oh yeah I do to watch vlogs like this. :-)
Another epic video Jay,glad you got the load sorted in the end whoever it was done by and who paid who..lol.. B&H ?,I imagined you as more of a Marlboro man :-)
smoking cigarettes?? no way. that's expensive... yes good tobacco harvested without chemicals and pesticides in nice environment, i would light up that once in a while, but that crap what they sell in shops, very bad..
You did what i would have done jay, its going to take time and money, plus a bit of begging but you did well to get it sorted, theres some helpfull folk about to which helps, i,m thinking that load would have shifted sooner or later, especially if you were driving steady as you said you were,. your best bet would have been to criss cross all your internals left to right and right left if that was possible, i can do it on my trailer,.and hook your straps to the pop up loops on the chock rail,.i bet you won't let it happen again either,. keep on truckin,.
I must be the only driver who likes RDC work ....That happened to me at Stobarts new RDC in Rugby did't load it correctly pulled of the bay..the whole lot went over ..revered back on the bay told them to re do the load .....was a trainee apparently
You should re-title it "Lets blame everything but me for not securing my load correctly". Often carry water/liquids on various different sort of pallets and never had a load move or damage the containers/bottle.
As he stated in the vid, he's had these type of pallets move before, (that's called experience). he moves a similar load again, but still doesn't use extra restraints to prevent it from moving at all, that's called not learning from experience !!

Part two………… need it now……… the suspense…….. ahhhhhhh 🙏😂😂😊👍🕵️♂️
😂😂 I need the ending to this story !!! Good to see you back lad …… and in a Volvo 🤟
We need a part 2 to Finnish the story

Can't leave us on that Jay! What happened to the dodgy van man! Lol 😅
Jay's trying to spice up his stories with a cliff-hanger. It worked!
New here, thanks for not giving us the ending I've had to sub now! Hahaa
What happened Jay???
Left us high and dry! 😂

Same thing used to happen to me when I went around a roundabout , too fast ,
That Dunblane roundabout is a killer. You gotta crawl round that exit. Your load will go if you're too fast.
32 minutes and the part we all wanted to see and.........you left the camera in the wagon, cheers
can see the booking ref a few seconds later on the confirmation page :p
the joys of trucking Jay, glad you got it sorted
Favourite blogger one and only all way

well done jay your not 2 bleme
@@christyler373 yes he is. If the load had broken through the curtain and hit someone/something he is 100% to blame.

As Ian said. Too fast round the roundabout with a sharp bend onto the motorway. Seen many a dropped load there.
@@iansayer783 like jay said , it wasn’t his driving at fault .
