  • We finally give you viewers what you want and hit the lake to film some Lake Erie Summer Walleye! Many walleye anglers quit fishing or complain about the bite during the heat of summer, but as you will see in this video, it can be just as good of a bite as any other time. On this day, we used a combination of segmented leadcore and dipsy divers with spoons, spinners, and crank baits. In addition to catching a ton of fish, we drop some serious tips on how to be more efficient, use specialized gear, and ultimately catch more fish under a variety of conditions.
    Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Through the years he has worn many hats including time as a fishing guide, boat salesman, TV host, outdoor writer, product designer, tournament fisherman, speaker, radio host and podcaster to name a few.
    Ross fishes ice-out to ice-up on the Great Lakes. He spends the majority of the year walleye fishing on Lake Erie’s Western and Central basins.

    We’ve been doing good on flicker 7s with the lead core. The best thing about this video that they don’t talk about is the trolling motor steering the boat. Game changer

      Was there on Sunday for the first time ever. How did you make out using the smaller baits, I only caught 2 on deep bandits and one on a reef runner 900

      We caught 18 walleye in 2 1/2hrs. 57-59 ft. Leadcore, dipseys, and downriggers all caught fish using small spoons no colour preference.

    Thanks for all the details of how to. Cap. now that we are into summer, what is your opinion on fizzing walleye that need to be released?

    • @Bigwaterfishing
      @Bigwaterfishing  19 днів тому

      Fish in that warm water, especially as deep as almost of them are flat out dead released or not. Why we keep then this time of yr.
