Remember when men were allowed to make songs about wanting women without being called chauvinists or creeps? I miss alpha male presence like this in today's music. Im so grateful to have grown up in the era I did were we can take a joke and appreciate simple things.
Baby pkase cone get me so we can be together
To much...PUSSYS NOWADAYS PEOPLE
Quite honestly, this reminds me of a man that meant a lot to me. I goes both ways!
Goddamn right.
Someone put the freaks in charge. That's over. The tide is turning because, ummm, they're freaks.
I miss the 80’s.... Music today sucks
You got it Pontiac
80's were great for music. These guys the creme of rock and were some of the few that survived grunge and this is from the 90s❤
You may not be listening.
I have to agree
Omg you’re so right!! Music today is hot garbage!!
Yes Van Halen was an awesome band growing up. I don't care to hear peoples opinions about who was better Dave or Sammy. They both produced songs with the band to make songs each one of us know to make us feel like we are part of the band. Either singing with Dave or Sammy or playing air guitar thinking we were Eddie. We can't forget about Michael with his Jack daniels bass or Alex behind the drums. This band produced many songs we know by heart and reminds us the great times we had to experience Eddie Van Halen and his God giving talent. Thank you EVH
Agreed, no matter the line up it was a great band, and if you can't have a great time listening to this band you must be Dead.
A lot of Roth fans can't accept the fact that they found success with another singer.
Brian, I totally appreciate both eras.
@Punchl1ne101 get a life
@@tfjack97 I would agree with one caveat. The album with Gary Chevrons was terrible, and not one song is memorable or has a good hook. That being said, I have heard one song in rough form they recorded with Gary that never made it to an official release and it is better than anything on Van Halen III. It would have been better if they had toured with Gary before recording an album.
Drums on this song is killer
One of the most underrated songs of all time...love Eddie's guitar on this song...
Underrated how? It was #2 on the Billboard Rock chart and #13 on the Billboard Rock 100.
100%
@@katherined800 Well, there you go;
should have been higher. That 15 second interval at the beginning between the bass kicking in and Sammy's first lyrics is rock 'n roll perfection
@@brianstark2219 Agreed though I am not the expert you are.
@@katherined800 Ha! Well, I talk a good game. And I've lived long enuff to see most of the history of rock n' roll. I'm so old .. Van Halen was the stuff my kid sisters were into
Alex doesn't get enough credit here. That drum beat is sick.
The band is named after him. How much credit does he need?
@@bman3020 pretty sure named after Edward's last name too.🤣
Eddie and Alex switched instruments because Ed couldn't play Wipeout, but Alex could!
Always thought that as well
@@perpetualchangeband that's not the way Alex said it in an interview. At first Alex was playing guitar and Ed had a paper route to save up for his drum kit. Alex then got interested when he saw Ed playing so Alex wld get on it when Ed wasn't around then suggested they switch instruments and Ed agreed. He never mentioned anything about Wipeout
Let's be honest. The Sammy lead VH when clicking on all cylinders was UNTOUCHABLE. Eddie's guitar 🎸 Sammy vocal range. Mike's background and Alex just doin what Alex does....Nothing better!!
I couldn't agree more!!!
????mmmmm???
@@palindrome1959 ?

Alex's drumming is so damn crisp on this song.
I never really though about how great Alex is until more recent listening, but wow he's good. VH is so guitar/vocal centric, Alex's genius can get lost in the mix, but he's easily one of the all time best rock drummers.
Gets overlooked by many just not me.
Only Neil Peart was better than Alex.
@@xxxYYZxxxHe’s my favorite drummer
never seen with traditional grip (left hand)
This song is often overlooked but to me one of their best regardless of era
Agreed
@@JulesFox yep 🎶😉
Best song of the Hagar Era that I have heard.
Amen
Agreed
Goddammit, still perfect. And still one of the sexiest videos they made. Some of the BEST smiles in rock.
No one ever talks about the spine tingling perfection of Mike and Eddie’s backing vocals. Harmonious bliss for the ears
True! Makes the whole sound richer.
Actually lots and lots of people do. It's been said so many times it no longer needs to be said.
Damn Exactly
I do!
We love and miss you Ed
Eddie didn't have to have the amps on fire to sound good
There are songs that don’t get old, this is one.
One of my all time favorite VH songs. It’s like the guys got together and said “let’s jam”.
No drama, just jamming!!
Def my favorite!
RIP Eddie, greatest rock guitarist ever.
... and a real cutie! I miss a lot of people from this era.
I wish Eddie van Halen was still alive too
Hendrix was the best period
No He is not even the best of his era. People forget Eruption was released just 7 years after Jimis death. Your comparison is like saying the model A Ford is the best car ever because it’s the first 1 you took a ride in. Jimis skill level is that of a 17 year old kid these days. Time has passed him by.
All the Guitarist are great within their own right! The list is endless!
Call it Van Hagar if you like, it rocks, and that's the bottom line.
One of my top Van Halen tunes. Rest in Piece Eddie
What a great music
Peace
Also, really diggin' Poundcake!
I use to be an adult entertainer 👠👠👠
And l used this song all the time,so much fun and memories, great tune guys 🎶❣️🎶❣️🎶💯❣️💯
This song stands the test of time...and Sammy was at his HOTTEST here!!
Thinking back its hard to believe at one time you could turn on a radio and hear masterpieces like this
Just heard it on The Rebel.....104.9
Van Halen Forever. 💔
The gunshots from the drums, the blended background vocals, Eddie's precision fingering & Sammy's gritty vocals make this one of their best
God, Sam and Ed were so cute!! My best of both worlds.
What a masterpiece...One of the BEST rock anthems of all time. Period!
I will never forget the riff or the girls in the video 😬✌️💯
Such a great f*cking song. Been on my playlist for years. Never gets old. 🤘😝🤘
Chip it is badass
@@jeremypillsworth6247 You speak da truth!
You can say that again!
NEVER…..it’s sooooo awesome
Great song.
Would have been phenomenal song with Dave on it.
You’re right, kind of tells a story
Van Hagar Rules!!!!!
Sammy was 41 when this song came out, but you couldn't tell that here. He has always looked at least ten years younger than his age
Well hes 73 as of now, he sure dont look or sound like he is 63 hahahaha... that 10 years has to expand to more years
What a great music
I met him in person a couple yrs ago . Looks good for his age but TV and make-up definitely make him younger looking
I think you have a wrong imagination how men look with 40 or even 50...they all could be over 40 in that vid
I didn't use my imagination at all. I simply took when that song was released and compared it to each of their respective birthdays. Though having been in my 40's when that song came out, I think I've got a pretty good idea of home men look at that age 😉
Van Halen is a great band. Both Dave - Sam are wonderful singers & song writers! The rest of the band are terrific! Eddie is missed and he was a great talent on the guitar 🎸
I agree. Sammy has the vocals.
Eddie’s smile ❤😍🥰
This was my band growing up! Never be another EVH. Thank you Sammy for all the great memories with VH🤘
Me too, and still is!🤘
Me too... and quiet riot
EVH was and always will be the king of rock and roll an the master of the account, Eddie Van Halen the legend will never die. R.I.P. Eddie.
Master of the guitar 🎸🎶🔊
Yessir. I actually regret to say I never went and saw them in person in the 2000's because i wanted this very lineup. Jokes on me.
OU812 was top three in ALL of VH’s discography.🤘🖖✌️🎸🎸🥁🎹🎤
you're delusional....but yeah,it's the best album of the Van Hagar era
David Lee Roth was a showman. Sammy Hagar gave Van Halen legit rock credibility. IMHO.
Sammy's vocal on this is insane. A classic song.
And Sammy is still rocking with Michael Anthony today.
💯❤️🙏 keep rocking Sammy
Lends new definition to the word, "sexy."
To carry this on is to be no better than Jonah i.e. (most jewish) Jonas Brothers. Salamandar has an immaculate Druidian New Zealund Australian "box" all to himself and loving it. And thus is control of the seminal/seminole vesicle i.e. hand on the trigger. Rome is wrong, wrong, wrong no matter how you slice it. "I bid you adieu to the one and only Crown." - Dr. Evil (Mike Myers; New Zealund Australian) from Austin Powers (James Bond parody) - Proud (newly commissioned) Poseidon Parrawn
Hard to believe Ed was only about 33 years old here and Sammy was around 40......Awesome
The gorgeous Sammy Hagar! Love this music. Still rockin today.
You said it! Sammy damn fine here.
David Lee Roth fans: “Van Halen with Sammy is all love songs”
Sammy: “Hold my guitar pick.”
Laughs in Get Up, 5150, Source Of Infection, Humans Being, and AFU Naturally Wired....but wait there's more
They act like the love songs were horrible lol

A classic! I grew up on this video!!
Always the best dancing song ever ❤
My favorite Van Halen song. I could listen to it on a loop for hours.
I love this video because Eddy is using the first Guitar that was ever bought for him
That’s so cool! I was still pretty young when this was released…definitely remember hearing it, but don’t remember seeing the video (we didn’t have MTV until I was much older). Wondered why he was playing this, thanks for explaining! 😀
I love this song! Rest in Peace Eddie Van Halen.
A lot of talent right there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Musically and visually...
Sammy and those heart shaped sunglasses. If this video had smellavision…it’d be smoked sex
Ahhh what a great song about having Blue Balls... What a great time to be growing up in the 80's and 90's!
Happy 33rd Birthday OU812!
He has such a great smile
I wouldn't kick Sammy out of my bed, my mama would've said! This song kicks ass even in 2022.
You can't play this one loud enough.
No cymbals other than hi hats, killer tune
When Sammy joined, perfect match.
Truly shows the diversity of this band. They could write and play ANY kind of music. RIP Eddie; my hero.
It's bad when a Woman Makes a Grown Man beg for it like this 😪 😩
Yeah. But I bet that turns some girls on 😎
Oh man how sweet the music!!!
Van Hagar the best "HANDS DOWN"!!
I love Van Halen
I lived off of Live Without A Net in High School. I listened to everybody else, but that was my jam. Sammy and Ed.
We lost Eddie way too soon ! One year to the day after Eddie passed my father also went home! Man i miss them both
Best old school rock and rollers ever don't forget it Van Halen in the Red Rocker you can't beat that on any given day
Thank you for your support always love the fellow Rock and roller who knows their jam
Totally. The best.
Great great tune! I highly suggest reading Sammy's bio ,"RED". Great stuff. RIP Eddie, such a wonder, you will be in our hearts says the Rock n rollers!!! HEY 42 years and counting since we first saw ya!!!
@Sammy Hagar Foundation OMG you did not just respond to my reply I am beside myself you are the ultimate Red Rocker long before Van Halen you just made that rock group that much better I can't wait to taste your tequila
@Sammy Hagar Foundation no Would LOVE TO❣️💯
best band ever
fun fact, this was actually the theme song for the short-lived 90s sitcom "Sydney"(which starred Eddie's then-wife Valerie Bertinelli).
Love it! 🤘
R.I.P. EVH!
Eddie makes me proud as Indonesian. RIP
I remember what I was doing, where I was and what I was wearing when I heard that Sammy joined Michael and the Van-Halen Brothers.
Absolutely blew me away. Thinkin about it still gives me chill bumps to this day. Was one of the absolute most best times in my life.
The cocaine was awesome, the pvssy was hot and wet and the rock ‘n’ roll was kick ass.
got ya bro same story.😆 and we survived the 80's too.
@@rayfabris2512,
Yes sir!
Now we’re surviving the 2000s and rock music still plays a huge part in my life.
Yeah. I became a "Dave who?" when that was announced also. Absolutely great news then. Cherish the memories.
5150 made VH my favorite band!
AND VAN HALEN DESTROYED WITH SAMMY
The best guitarist I know
VAN HALEN 4 EVER...😢🎉
God bless Eddie !!! A TRUE guitar innovator. Will surely be missed
The best song writing of the era. These songs in my opinion could not have been any better. Thats why i named my custom painted harley davidson sammy ... after sammy hagar. Because the louder they both are the more beautiful they sound ....
This is the best Rock song of the 90's can't believe it doesn't have a million views or more
The last 100 views are me trying to learn that opening lick on a Strat.
I NEVER get tired of watching this video!!!! 😁😁
An epic moment in MTV history
I can’t believe it’s been 3 years now since we lost Eddie 😢 . Crank it up loud so he knows we are still listening
Great van Hagar song. I know some people don’t like this era but this song has to make you want to dance and party.
A favorite!!!! I used to teach aerobics to this! Very motivating!
@Sammy Hagar Foundation I'm fine, thanks! Thanks for your reply!
@Sammy Hagar Foundation No, I haven't.
@Sammy Hagar Foundation Colorado
RIP Eddie, one of the finest rock guitarists ever to play.
I fucking miss the 80’s
How can u not love this mastery of music?
❤️ We miss you Eddie🤘🏻
I had almost forgotten how cool Alex is. It was refreshing to see him behind his kit in this video because, normally, he was hidden behind his massive kit. Kind of like Nicko is for Iron Maiden.
What a great music
All a really cool drummer needs is a kick , snare and hat , . !!! Just ask Ringo , Buddy , Charlie or Bonham.
@@paulrichards6826 thay all had toms, which is more than a kick, and snare, and hats!
Sammy is a very cool guy and i love his voice
A killer tune and music video that stands the test of time
So many memories growing up and still today! Grew up on 8 tracks-those were the days right there!!
Don’t know anyone who was buying 8 track in 1988. Was this album even on one?
My favorite VH song of all time! Eddie's guitars, Sammy's incomparable singing, Mike Anthony's bass.... and of course Alex's drumming were all just at their peak! Utterly fantastic. I'm glad I was alive when this was first released. Never. Gets. Old!!
Did you know it is the only song that Eddie didn’t write alone? Sammy and Eddie wrote it together and even the lyrics are a true story. Sammy and Ed lived next door to each other and Sam was gettin it on with a lady upstairs and Eddie was throwing pebbles at his window. So Sam came down and Ed said he had this riff he wanted Sammy to hear even if it was 2am. 😂... They sat on the porch and Eddie played it then Sammy and him collaborated on it over the next 2 or 3 hours. Then Sam went to bed and his woman was too tired to pick up where he left off. True story! 😂❤️
@@metalqueen8765 Great story! There was actually one house in between them I believe, but close enough! Another VH Classic!
@@metalqueen8765 Don’t know what you’re smoking, bro, but you higher than a freaking kite.
Sammy wrote or co-wrote five of the best songs from 5150 alone: “Why Can’t This Be Love?”, “Best Of Both Worlds”, “Dreams”, “Love Walks In”, and “Summer Nights”.
I cannot love this comment enough! Best true comment ever! ❤
@@metalqueen8765I also heard this story and it is real! ❤
Such a funky soulful old gem
what a perfect song. you know its eddy.
They just don't make music like this anymore. Long Live Rock and Roll! Thank you Sammy! RIP Eddie
One of the best intro’s ever created. Simple but solid- and the video locks it down.
This is actually my favourite VH song ❤
Same here.
Alex counting in this song is so perfect.
One, Two…One, Two
One of the most under rated drummers, alex van halen was on point ,awesome beat ,awesome tune !
💯 I’ve come to realize that more since Edward died. Binge watched Van Halen videos for months after.
"Underrated"? His multitude of fans, countless concert tours, several albums made, money in the bank, says differently. "Underrated" is someone with Alex's talent that never gets a chance.
@@gigitonsvajv My thoughts exactly. Never did "critical listening" to VH drums back in the day, but wow - Alex is so good.
@@MSUSpartanFootball maybe underrated was the wrong word to use in that situation. I’m sure you’re human and have done it before. I guess what I would say is Al kinda lived in Edward’s shadow a little. Eddie got most of the accolades and attention. Al is crazy talented for sure. I personally didn’t know how good Al is until I binge watched everything Van Halen when Edward died.
@@gigitonsvajv ....I agree. Alex lived in Eddie's shadow. No denying that.
