Oh this looks so good!!! And easy, even with prepping your own chicken!!! And yes, you could use a food processor for that , but if you're not careful, it turns into chicken mush!! Which I'm sure is still usable, but don't know how the texture would be... fledgling home chef here! But so grateful for your cook book and videos!!! You make it so easy, tasty, and gorgeous, I am loving this learning journey!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 🙏🙏🙏 😁🥰😋❤
Soboro Don was my Japanese father’s favorite thing that my (Japanese) grandmother would make. Unfortunately, her recipe was lost when she passed. I’ll have to make this for him to see how it measures up, but looks and sounds perfect
I’ve made this twice so far and I love it! Easy and full of flavor. I tried it with and without the raw egg. The raw egg added a creamy texture. Highly recommend!
Haven’t visit your channel for a long time. You’re both look young and healthy as always. That’s good to know. Stay healthy and thanks for the recipe cooking tutorial as always. 💛
Now it's officially Friday, Aaron and Claire have arrived. This really was a simple meal with great results, great way to keep the breast meat moist. Take care guys, please give Hodu a treat from me.🧡💛🧡💛🧡💛💛
Thank you for this recipe! Tried it and loved it🎉. Always appreciate the videos you guys post❤. Super fast and easy...and way better than take out. Very flexible for combinations!
Just finished reviewing your cookbook, from my Library, looking forward to trying a number of recipes, crispy tofu first. Though I do have a number of items I'll have to add to my pantry. Today's recipe looks GREAT.
You can also call this “sanshoku don” as it has three toppings in it! It is so nice and yummy 🤤 When I make the egg part I hold multiple pairs of chopsticks at once to stir it. This breaks it up easier.
Your food video was enjoyable! However, for this soboro don, do you think it might be tastier to skip marinating the meat and instead pour the sauce over the cooked chicken?
I use a different rice cooker but the Instant pot in the description works the same. Just cook with plain water and make a 1:1 ratio. If you need a video for that, we have one, so please check this out! 🙌 ua-cam.com/video/4DWL2ERm9iw/v-deo.html
There’s spring onions in this? What a surprise … not. I don’t know why people prefer chicken breast over thighs but I’m married to one, he has to have thigh most of the time as I refuse to use breast unless we do shawarma. Great recipe love it, thank you
I found a miracle ingredient lately it's using dehydrated mashed potatoes flakes/powder to thicken texture and give gamja flavor to meals. I wonder if there's anything similar in Korean food culture? I know you guys use potato starch a lot but what about flakes?
@@stylishranchgirl for instance for breakfast I'll heat a tortilla in a pan, scramble a couple eggs on top, season, add some dehydrated mashed potatoes to rehydrate in the eggs, then add some grated cheese and once it's mostly cooked I fold the tortilla shut and let it seal shut a bit longer. perfect lazy 10mn cooked breakfast with protein on the cheap. I also like to use it on pizza when I can't be arsed to cook actual potatoes but I want potato flavor and it helps thicken the sauce with less cheese on a budget. mostly for improvised recipes like that which I want to be more filling. I also like mixing it in liquid cream with same principle. I use so little and it goes a very long way. I wish I had some recipes that include rice. I might experiment when I make fried rice but not sure it'll handle it as well.
Yes! It’s a raw egg yolk. But if you can’t trust how fresh it is or not a big fan, you could also add a poached egg on top! 😍 (For a list of ingredients, please check this out! aaronandclaire.com/soboro-don-japanese-ground-chicken-bowl/)
Hey Aaron, have you ever considered someone else to give your awesome recipes the taste test. The reason I ask is that it's so difficult to concentrate on the test with Claire judging as her beauty distracts us from the dish that she's tasting! 😅

from being korean language 101 to Aaron and Claire 💪
Love that this is a flexible recipe...more vegetables and/or different protein make it easy to adapt for dinners!😍
Yes, this bad boy is like a chameleon 😎
I made it and it turned out really good. It does take longer than 15 min maybe 30ish but is worth it.thanks for the recipe
Just in time when I was thinking what to do for lunch. Your recipes have been amazing since I started to cook my own meals!
So glad they helped! 😁
Just made this for meal prep and its one of the best rice bowls ive ever had. Well done yall!!

That would be so sweet! Please let us know how it goes! 🥰🙌
You are always right when it comes to green onions sir. Thanks for another fantastic meal.
I might do this adding some veggies. :)
That's gonna be more perfect! 😎👍
Just cooked this for my meal prep this week, and it's amazing!! Thank you for sharing. 😊

Did you use dark soy sause ?
My chicken wasn't as dark as the one in this video & I'm assuming that's where I went wrong
@@theF1oracle Yes I used dark soy sauce

made this few nights ago and packed my wife's lunch box with this too, very good recipe!
I love your recipes! Could you add the Wok into your pantry list pleaseee?
Sometimes when Claire is excited and talking about the food in Korean she sounds like she's singing.😊
Soooo delicious! I added some fresh cabbage at the end, made for a good texture!
Well done! Sounds even better! 😎👍
I def need to try this. Had soboro don for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and it was bomb. This looks even better
instant dashi powder and a pinch of sugar into the egg mixture. I swear it's the BOMB

🤣🤣🤣
I love you pair. I think of you as family. Rock on (and don't worry about it!)
From watching your videos my friends now think I am some kind of amazing chef, but they don't know the secret of the green onion.

Thanks! Hope you enjoy our book! 😁🙏
Looks great! Send a plate please😂
Just sent it! Did you get that? 🤣
Gonna try this rice cauliflower or brown rice. It looks so good. ❤
Yum!!! 😆
"More green onion, more delicious" is now also one of my mottos, because it's so accurate! 💚

such a pretty dish
Aaron who makes your knife, i love it
Thanks! It’s Shun’s chef knife. You can find the link in the description! 😍
So good !
I love your cooking man :)
Thank you my friend! 😍
Aaron your Green Onions are the longest, straightest I have ever seen-are they also sponsored🐣🌼😄
No, they are not sponsored. 🤣🤣🤣
Claire 😫 please give some of your awesome food reviews in English!! You have a great accent!
Your food video was enjoyable! However, for this soboro don, do you think it might be tastier to skip marinating the meat and instead pour the sauce over the cooked chicken?
Love how uou make me laugh!
Thats one fancy looking knife
Looks awesome, trying it now. But my chicken in the marinade and cooked is not as brown.
Use a teaspoon of dark soy sauce for colour
Aaron! How do you cook your rice? Do you use the Instant Pot in the description or a different rice cooker? 🍚❤

In the box, I guess it's all healthy food! 😁
Still, I love your chanel! 😀
🤣 🤣 🤣 YOLO, AARON!!!
Where was the "Hello from Seoul" ???? That's how me and my wife always start your videos.
I'm glad the recipe works with other protein. Dish looks great but my chicken allergies would say no..
Early!
How u doin early bird! 😍
I’m doing very great!
"Balanced" = Meat/Egg/Rice with a sprinkle of green onion 🤣 None of those pesky veggies! 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I’ve seen many cooks on UA-cam mince their chicken in the food processor! Look it up!
Yeah but for the texture, the one with knife cut is way better! 😍
