I have been making your recipes almost 5 days a week for 2 months now. Not only are they super delicious but just the fact that i am learning something new i can be passionate about has gotten me out of a very deep depression. Thank you Aaron and Claire!
do you eat fresh cabbage often? I am from the Czech republic and I mostly see people here eating fermented cabbage. I have never had a head pf cabbage just lying around...
@@JelenaBraum raw we eat it shredded Coleslaw style. Fermented with carrots still eaten cold a bit like kimchi. Then we have a shitload of fermented warm dishes like stews, in pierogi, etc. Cooked but not fermented we do gołąbki- rice and meat wrapped in cabbage leaves and boiled, usually in tomato sauce. My mum also does fermented cabbage with potatoes pancakes which are delicious. I think we share a lot of these dishes across CEE.
Ever since I’ve started watching your videos, green onions, oyster sauce and gochujang have become essential ingredients in all of my cooking. Can’t wait to try one of these cabbage recipes!
I’ve always got a cabbage rolling around in the bottom of my fridge. And I’m always trying, but normally failing, to find a way to use it. This video is a godsend! Another quality video - thank you.
May I make a suggestion? When I buy ahead of cabbage, as with all my vegetables (thanks to Rachael Ray), I clean and chop them when I get home then put them in storage bags in the crisper. This way, your cabbage will be ready to go for any recipe! Drop it in ramen, in an omelet, make that rice dish from the beginning of the video. The uses are endless!
'I’ve always got a cabbage rolling around in the bottom of my fridge. And I’m always trying, but normally failing, to find a way to use it.' - This is me for the last thirty years. I don't really expect things to change for the rest of my life. It's sooo good to know I'm not alone, thank you.
Thank you Aaron for another great cooking lesson. Laughter is contagious. Please show more of Claire attempting to do something in the kitchen. It brings a smile to my face and makes me laugh too. Trust me.
i′ve made the cold noodles & the cabbage pancake so far. i can't believe how good these dishes are. leftovers usually don't get eaten in my house, but we had noodles for three days straight―we kept the vegetables in one container, the sauce in another, and made fresh noods for each meal. i think at this point, ~90% of my cooking comes from this channel.
The first recipe omg tasted delicious, very easy to make and get this, THE PERFECT STRUGGLING MEAL. I had this markdown cabbage at the back of the fridge, went on a search for recipe and stumbled upon this video. I already have all the ingredients at home but it honestly costed next to nothing. Even with just an egg, the meal turned out very hearty. A lot cheaper than baked beans and egg. Cabbage costed like what less than a dollar?
Aaron, your narration never fails to put a smile on my face... I love watching your videos. "Don't worry about it!" 😂 And Claire, your "mmm mmm mmm" always makes me want to try the recipes! 😋
Waves at Claire! This perfect timing. My parents have cabbage coming in their garden right now at an alarming rate, so I got stuck with a head of cabbage. These recipes look amazing, Aaron. Thanks!
This came at the perfect time. I’ve had a head of cabbage sitting in the fridge for awhile now. I don’t have bacon but I have plenty of SPAM and I bet that’ll work just as well. 😋
Hi Aaron and Claire! I live in New Zealand, and full time in my campervan. It's easy and convenient to buy takeouts, but the habit has blown my budget! Thank you so much for these awesome recipes which are easy, obviously tasty (good taste testing skills, Claire) and budget friendly, even with the insane food prices at present. I love you and your channel.
I just wanna say that your videos ALWAYS put a smile on my face & a growl in my belly 🤣 I’ve learned a lot with you and I can dare say that I’ve become a little Korean Chef from Angola on your account!!! Keep up the great work and please never stop beaming the amazing positivism you both exude. ❤️from🇬🇷
That street toast is no joke (much like the suggestion of putting a heaping tablespoon of sugar like aaron said). I first made it last summer and craved it every day for about a month. If you don't want to buy a whole cabbage, I've found it easy to use a bag of coleslaw mix instead. Keeps it easy!!
I made the street toast this past weekend and my family loved it! They don't exactly love my ramblings about K dramas, but they are enjoying my experiments with Korean foods 😂 Thank you for your easy recipes that help me to enjoy the Korean cuisine
Oh god, i love that video of Claire trying to cut the carrot thinly. Dont worry about it, Claire! Some people are good at cutting and cooking and some are better at eating!
I honestly love the way Claire reviews food so much. She’s descriptive but is so animated with her movements and expressions and she’s so earnest with her feedback on the recipes
Because of this channel, and my love of breakfast sandwiches, Street Toast has become a regular breakfast at my house. That pancake is making me hungry. I'm going to need to try that out in the future.
you guys are my favorite inspiration for cooking! Thanks for all the recipes Aaron and for the reactions Claire! I've made so many of your recipes I have full faith in anything Aaron suggests.
Aaron, I just made the street toast for my wife and she loved it! Im half Korean, but I always found trying to cook Korean food daunting. Thank you for making it so accessible!
The first dish is one of my go-to favorites. Cabbage easily takes on any flavor. Primary variation is as you show here, but may add African pepper sauce or gochugang to the bacon, or serve up kimchi to the bowl. Happy to have found this video!
Omg. So we cooked the cabbage bowl. Going back to the old school simple Asian cooking right here. Instead of bacon, we did, Turkey spam, cabbage & eggs on a bed of jasmine rice. Thank you for reminding me of what simple Asian cooking is. I’m half Chinese, and this is a similar dish my dad used to make growing up. Both my Cambodian husband & I definitely will be making this more often. Can’t wait to cook other things on this list as well. Cheers to simple, yet yummy Asian Cooking!!
This is the first video of yours that I watched, tried the Cabbage Rice Bowl and it's already a family - favourite! Amazing dish - simple and sooo full of flavour! Definitely will try more of your recipes! Greetings from Bulgaria!
I love listening to Claire talk, I don't understand anything she's saying, but I get a kick out of her pronunciations and enunciations, her eyes and facial expressions, all together, she convincingly seals whatever deal Aaron starts!
These are all great recipes! I make Korean toast every weekend! I thinly slice cabbage, sweet onion, carrot, bell pepper and stir them into the eggs. I add diced spam and garlic chili oil to the mixture. I cook the veggies/egg mixture, flip, sprinkle w raw sugar then top with furikake and cheese! So good!
I'm going to try making all this recipes these week. 😋 They look so appealing. 😍 I always love how Claire enjoys Aaron's cooking 🍳 Thank you so much for sharing. Have a lovely week to the both of you.
I love your channel. Being a Vietnamese-born, adopted, and Americanized Asian has made me very outcasted from most Asian societies here in America. But when I watch your videos to learn about Asian cuisine and experiment with it makes me feel more connected to my Asian roots.
Very creative meals. Always enjoy watching Claire eat. I always end up with too much napa cabbage so I think I can use it in place of the cabbage you used in this video. Keep the videos coming. Thanks!
I’m so excited to try this!! I’m parts German and Irish. I grew up eating a lot of cabbage. I make lunch salad with it as well. This will take it to the next level!! Thanks!
Oh cool ideas thanks! I especially like the cabbage donburi idea! Oh also for the sandwich, if you have left over tonkatsu or chicken katsu, you can make katsusando which is a katsu sandwich! You can put a lot of shredded cabbage like you did here and then drizzle the katsu sauce on it before topping with the other slice of bread.
I'm liking cabbage more and more, Korean style. never did much like it growing up but it was very plain and mostly coleslaw. everything tastes better with gochujiang 😂😂😂
I've been meaning to say I really like your videos. They're set up to focus on one specific ingredient but many ways to prepare it. I've got a cabbage I need to use, so this is right on time!
Now we made all the four recipys with cabbage and they were really good!! Thank you so much, Aaron and Claire, Today we had the noodles. For the sauce I took only one tbsp of the paste and for us it was almost too much. I am so glad that my husband finally likes cabbage.
I made the Cabbage Rice Bowl and it's so amazing! My sons asked me to make it again tonight so I did and I taught my youngest son (21) how to make it! It has such a wonderful flavor and I'm definitely going to make it at least once a week!!!!
So glad I found you two again! I can’t wait to make the cabbage pancake tomorrow. You two are adorable and I love how you call “Claire” after your dish is ready for tasting!
I made the cabbage rice bowl for dinner for me and my boyfriend today and it was delicious, we both loved it! Have a lot of cabbage left so I'll be trying out some of the other recipes tomorrow
Aaron and Clair, you are my favourite people in the world! Thank you for sharing your amazing recipes with us. I will definitely make these delicious meals each day for the next week 😋
After my stomach got messed up I started cooking again. I love cooking and trying new receipts. No more fast food and I have lost weight. Great mood booster too.
You have changed my life and cabbage is my favourite now . I do not eat pasta but konjac noodles aren’t bad and work for keto . Any recipes around keto I would love to see you create

Aww🥺🥺 good for you love 💕
As a Polish person I'm excited to try all these recipes. We eat a lot of cabbage so I'm always on look out for new ways to prepare it!

A new way to eat it is stir frying it with teriyaki sauce or stir frying with fish sauce and garlic. So tasty with rice x
I wonder if fermented cabbage you get here in the supermarket can get turned into kimchi with some seasoning.

That's one of the reasons that I buy cabbage. It lasts a long time even for a single person.
I'm also in the same boat, very timely video

i love it when Claire does the tasting. she makes the whole segement with her reaction. i love watching her eat.
Such a nice little touch! Makes me smile every time. I don't see it done by the other hundreds of recipe channels 👍
She shoves giant bites into her mouth, like I do lol
Yeah, but he’s funny too! Like, sprinkling only a bit of sugar on the bottom toast layer, because he doesn’t want us to “freak out”!! 😆😆😆
Her input is also really good. I would have never thought to add bean sprouts to the noodles or have it with dumplings! But it makes a ton of sense.
Finally somethubg yummy with thr cabbage that's been sitting in my fridge for a VERY long time
