I know this video is mainly about the BBQ, but I really have to compliment the salad dressing. First time I saw you do that was with a similar composition with cucumber in your Banchan-Video. Since then it has become a staple in my kitchen. So simple, so delicious, and completely spices things up with the usual boring salad dressings. That one is absolutely amazing!
I always keep a container of doenjang in the fridge. It's an all-purpose seasoning for me. I add it the water when making ramyeon, eggs, kimchi fried rice, just about everything. I will definitely try this recipe.
This was fabulous! I made a delicious vegetarian bbq meal using your recipe. Instead of pork, I marinated thick slices of king oyster mushrooms and used vegetarian oyster sauce and fish sauce. I used the garlic chives and cayenne chilies growing in my container garden on my deck and all was delicious. Thank you for such a versatile recipe; the marinade and the salad dressing will be in heavy rotation at my house.
Ok this dish is delicious- I've eaten it but I didn't know what it was called 😂 Now I can make it at home! Love the shoe commercial - Claire did such a good job! 🥰🥰🥰

It always makes me chuckle a bit every time he says "vineyard" instead of backyard or garden. It makes it sound like we all live in big mansions with private vineyards.
I tried this recipe yesterday and omg it was the best bbq meat we have ever eaten. Just my husband and I finished the whole 500gr of meat because it was simply that freaking good. Today he wanted to eat it again. He's German and used to not like Korean food 😄
Oh I need that chive salad now. I’ve been making your ground beef Bulgogi rice bowl weekly. (Mostly yours; I’ve added 2 things.) I make a 4x batch of the marinade and just keep it. I see now I’m going to have to hunt down at least a garlic chive so I can make this accompaniment. Thanks to your channel (and Maangchi) I’ve gotten into banchan. Kimchi, among others, is always in my fridge. Thanks for so many easy, accessible recipes!
@@AaronandClaire The Muchin recipe is gold! I make this very often, usually with chives, cucumber and jalapenos from our garden. Such a simple and delicious side dish, it sometimes steals the show!
I'm glad I subscribed to this channel, I have a big plan to surprise my girlfriend with korean foods on July 8 (We're both filipinos and haven't tried korean food). I have been binge watching this channel for the past week and I have decided to make 5 dishes, Bibimbap, Gimbap, Sundubu Jjigae, Miyeok-Guk, and KFC. Some ingredients aren't accessible in my area (like spinach, gochugaru, and anchovy stock) but i'll do my best to improvise and hope it tastes good.
Hello guys :) I love your videos - they change my LIFE! I have a question about meat preparation - in this video you use a wooden chopping board to chop raw pork. I have always been paranoid about raw meat contaminating food and it seems like the wooden chopping board would actually absorb lots of that raw pork juice. Also the big chopping board is too big to fit in the sink to wash and you want to cut the vegetables soon after the meat for a quick dinner. So my question is: how do wash the chopping board properly between chopping meat and chopping vegetables to prevent cross contamination?
I made this pork belly, my BF described it as “deadly” bc it is so good. It was very good. Definitely going to be something I make often. We were thinking of the marinade for other types of meat…?
I made this today, kinda. I didn’t have doenjang so I used Thai chili paste and gochujang in its place and an extra splash of mirin….and a dash of MSG. Probably tastes different but it was still “fantastic”.
This look delicious, gotta try it! Just one question: can the Korean soy bean paste be substituted with (white) Miso paste? And the fish sauce (which I also don't have) for the dressing with oyster sauce?
I think that I've discovered that what Aaron is using is actually called a 'Chinese Leek'. I just planted some seeds a couple of weeks ago...we'll see, but I'm pretty sure
@@shannondore Thanks! I ran out and checked on them after I wrote that. They're coming up already. So far so good! Aaron's got me growing all kinds of asian greens. Garlic chives, pak choi, the Chinese Leeks, and about 4 other things. Plus I've got green onions growing everywhere. 😂
I'd love to see you do a healthy low calorie low sodium series. I used to make your recipes almost every night but ever since I had to start counting calories with my exercises I can only make some of these dishes 1 or 2 times per week 🥺🥺🥺🥺
hi! when you are listing the ingredients throughout the video, is it possible to also add the Hangul? this might be helpful to those of us learning Korean (me) and those living in Korea (also me) 🤣🤣
Question… do I NEED to used corn syrup for the marinade? What is it doing? Awesome recipe and video as always. Definitely trying this one. I love pork belly.
Corn syrup not only adds a sweet flavor (less sweeter than sugar or honey) but also gives it a glossy texture, but if it’s difficult to get one, you can just go for sugar instead or skip it. No problem at all! Hope you enjoy it! 😍

Miso paste is more sweeter side, so I don’t recommend it as a substitute. 🥲
