Here’s an Unboxing, Demo & Review of this beasty, health & fitness smartwatch. And I’ve been fortunate enough to get my hands on this master-time piece, weeks before it’s launch. I have had it for over a week now, which is enough time for me to share my over all feel and experience with it, all in quarantine, in lockdown, with me myself and my beloved G-Shock GBD-H1000 Smart Fitness Watch, amongst other juicy tech stuff I shall be sharing with you guys very soon. Too massive, not something I'd wear for running or day to day... Maybe for hiking only but I don't think it handles hiking.

Yes. Ex military so I’ve been a life long G Shock fan. Slightly side lined when the fitness watches came out to include Apple watches.. I’ve been waiting for this watch for a long time. So much I didn’t care about the price and just preordered. Your review was impeccable and detailed.

Thank you so much Jordi, glad you liked. Me too. I remember having Casio watches when I was a kid. My dad still has a couple. This one is shockingly great! I mean, it's so rugged, solid, durable and packed with so many functions. I was truly amazed by it, especially when comparing it to the typical recent smart and fitness watches. x

Its a bit costly for the fuctionality provided additionally the interface isnt user friendly. As most of the fuctionality are hidden inside menus and it takes a lot of clicks to set things for 399 i expected atleast a touch interface
At 03:08 you say “The GBD-H100” instead of GBD-H1000...Check it out...Now its all nice and dandy but the most important question about this specific model was left unanswered: Is the heart rate monitor accurate?!? To me this is THE most important feature on this watch, it is what sets it apart from all previous models in this range, yet nothing mentioned on this 🙄🙄
You are absolutely right, and my apologies, of course I means H1000. I did mention in the video that I may be doing a more detailed vid. Alternatively, check out Chigz Tech Reviews vid on it. Yes, the heart rate sensor seems to work absolutely fine, with near accurate readings. I have compared these with readings from other watches and devices. I am working on a more detailed, follow up vid, in which I will be answering a whole bunch of questions raised. So do sub' and stick around x
Wow~~ It looks good. Recently, I'm thinking that I need a smartwatch to monitor and track my Sportage data including the MaxO2, heartbeat, and so on. I'm comparing the Apple Watch Series 6 and GBD-H1000. Thanks for your sharing and help me to look at its operations in detail.
It's a great looking watch and is geared more towards hikers and joggers. Due to the fact it doesn't snyc with a chest strap heart rate monitor it's not a good choice for circuit trainers or any athlete that monitors recovery rate. The wrist monitor just reacts to slow for most athletes.

I would love to use one of these but I have a Garmin Fenix 6s. I think this would be too big for my wrist. Can u track just walking exercises?? I assume there is no automatic exercise capabilities. NO spo2 sensors either right??

Thinking about buying it, it's between this and galaxy watch 4. I Would expect this watch to still work in 5 years.

So this takes 2 hours to charge?? Does the charging just charge the GPS ?? Or does the GPS run with the solar part of the watch?? I am a bit confused sorry.

Love the functions except the non-metal gasket buttons (cheaper) so if this takes a tumble in the sand - grit is going to get stuck behind the plastic buttons....not good.

I bought the watch and among other flaws which I already reported to the customer support, I find some problems:
1) the training plan allows only to select from 5k,10,half and full marathon. What if I'd like to train over the 3.000 meters lenght? Or the 1.50 mts? The length should be arbitrary.
2) What is the purpose of having a full time cardio monitor without the possibility to download the data or see the cardio graph on a big screen? The 24hrs monitor graph on the tiny screen of the watch is basically useless. Same as for downloadable GPS data, no trace of it.
3) GPS accuracy is questionable, over a trip on the mountain it recorded only half of my trip and the length was way off.
4) cardio monitor sometimes gets crazy, jumping to very high values (150s bpm) while you are in the 60s. It must be stopped and restarted from the application in order to restore its functionality.
5) the training monitor should have other sports settings, such as fitness
6) Either I use the app from my telephone or on my tablet. I cannot use it on both as I get disconnected from the other device. What is the sense in that given that I log in with my personal credentials? Let us use the app from whichever device we want
7) while I understand the limitations of having an effective vibrating system in such a small device, I definitely do not understand the really poor alarm sound. It wouldn't wake up anybody or even alert anyone during a run or training.
Bummer, I hope Casio will fix this at the speed of the light.

Thank you. As mentioned in the video, I am currently using the Beta app. It does measure cycling, however not sure about Strava, yet. Waiting on the update from Casio. I am working on a follow up video, and hopefully will answer more questions in it.
If it measures cycling, and syncs to Strava, I would get it.
Hi, so do you think the bezel/watch is huge? Or will it just fit on the hand? On your hand it surprisingly looks normal. While some say it's very big. Just as the Casio Rangeman, which has 60mm diameter, and the G-Move has 63mm.
The watch is chunky, and although fits on my 6.9" (circumf') wrist, it's on the larger side.
Hi! Does the vibration function function as a “silent alarm” like an Apple Watch??
What does the rangeman has to offer more, as it costs double?

Nice review. But for a temperature sensor, is it a body temperature sensor or ambient temperature?

They are always a mix of ambient and body temperature when on the wrist. For accuracy it should removed from wrist for a while (To be at room temperature, it can take 20 minutes). Not useless (used as input to adjust calculation of altitude from pressure) but not a replacement for proper thermometer.

Glamour, Gadgets & Gaming by Lia the side with the heart rate sensor is in contact with your skin but the rest is bathed in ambient air so the result is in between. It is particularly visible when outside temperature is very low. It can be freezing and still read in the 20°C or so

guys i own mudmaster gwg 1000. i want to buy something smarter with solar power. i have examined gbd h1000 and its competitors. so far i have noticed that its closest competitor is garmin instinct. and i found out that garmin instinct is a better choice because of its reasonable size and functions.
A brief update. i bought and lost garmin instinct. now i own gbd h1000. Casio looks better garmin is more practical and functional. But i prefer casio.

I doubt it very much. I wore it for 2 consecutive days, on my 7" wrist, and honestly did not feel the weight. I have not tried a jog or run, but can't imagine it being a problem. I will try my best to answer these q. in my follow up video.

casio sends an outdoor watch thats even too big for a typical mens wrist to a fashion girl which isnt really expert in g-shocks or watches at all. thats very... brave or confident?

It's a great fitness watch but it lacked just one feature that was a deal beraker for me, it's ability to store and play music.

This watch does not have navigation like the casio rangeman ! It is not a survival watch like the top notch rangeman. Casio, just integrate all of these funtions into the rangeman and I'm yours. I nearly went for it.

Rangeman def' is another top watch. There are spec/feature differences between the two, inc. the price.
