Good evening thanks for your video regarding the notification on the Casio GBD-H1000. I have a question: there is a way to see the notification without selecting it for 7 times the D button? Can Casio develop a shortcut to read notification when have been received? thanks
Thanks! Just got gshock gbd h2000. Only notifications I’m getting are four phone calls. Still can’t get text messages. I’m within my return window. I thought I would like it better than Apple Watch.
Thanks for your video, I’m a big G-shock from way back. After going to look at the watch, studying you vids. I have decided to wait for this model’s firmware update. Watching this vid sealed the deal for me!
Hi! just bought the watch yesterday..can the bluetooth be turned off (it keeps on blinking) if it is not connected on the phone? and there's no power saver feature just like the other tough solar models? your response will be highly appreciated! thank you!
I have a question. One day I realized my watch had a different display which had a nice bars around the entire clock and the bars on the side. It looked different, and I really liked it, I started looking at new features and all of the sudden the new look display disappeared, and I don't know how to go back to a new display look.
Does it have an open-source PC software, that doesn't send your data to Casio/advertisers, where you can export the data to CSV, and set everything on the watch?
I never liked it and always switched it off, so didn't cross my mind to check :) Thanks for bringing that to my interest. I've checked. No such setting on the watch nor in the app, where you can customise sound / vibration feedback. Button sound is user-adjustable but hourly signal ain't there. Maybe in the future firmware?
Just got my watch today and downloaded the G-shock move app. As I try to set it up Im on the 'Notification Access' page (on the app) it allows to turn on/off the following: Andriod Auto, Bixby Routines, Call & text on other devices, Digital Wellbeing and parental control, Led Cover, Move (g-shock move), Accessibility, People, Samsung DeX home, Samsung Global Goals, Secure folder, Smart View, Truecaller, and Your Phone Companion. Now idea what these are! Cant find an explanation document for these anywhere. Not included in user manual. Help! Sounds like we can curb the unnecessary notifications to a limit we like.
May I know how to authorize the notifications through different apps? Included SMS, WhatsApp, email, etc. Also, is there any chance to have decoded problem with different languages? Maybe it cannot display some languages correctly. 😅
It's the other way round - which apps you allow to send notifications on your phone, those will also appear on the watch (unless there's a bug, like with the previous firmware, where SMS messages did not trigger a watch notification but now they do). The only 'specific' thing is that they have notifications' categories and anything non phone / text / calendar / mail appears in the 'others' category. Sad thing (for battery saving sake) is that Bluetooth is switched off after ca. 1 hour of no use (no notification, no button pressed), however it seems to hold when you move your hand. If the watch is left on a desk, no notification will come through after an hour of inactivity (BT icon blinks on the watch, app on the phone says 'waiting for connection...'). It's resumed when you lift the watch or press any button. Regarding diacritics - it seems Casio thought about it (perhaps it relies on the selected country - IDK!?) I can see Unicode characters properly. So not just Western ISO, but things like national diacritical characters are displayed properly (if they appear properly on the phone). I've checked e-mails in Polish, so you know... we kinda have a lot of weird ą,ę,ó etc. :)
@@sundaramgolakiya5771 1. Yes 2. No Ad, 1, It's very irritating, as like I mentioned earlier - anything that triggers a notification on the notification bar of the phone, lands on the watch as well. So far it's not possible to select which apps' notifications should reach to watch. Casio really needs to learn from Garmin here, as they use the same service provider and could have done it much better.
You need to allow the watc and the Gshock Move app to enter your phonebook. You can do that in your phone, go to settings, then Apps, then you have to find there Move app and allow app to enter phonebook. I allowed everything and everything works fine.
Good video bro. I'm having trouble turning my notifications on. I got the watch about a month ago and have somehow turned off notifications. Today I went on the Move App and turned them back on but the watch isn't notifying me. I'm pretty sure I've tried everything. Went to notification screen on watch, held down button b for 3 seconds to access menu. Turned all on, saved exited and went to home screen still not getting notified. Its frustrating now.
I bought the GBD H1000 and it has no calibration function, and the temperature does not show up on the face of the watch, I press the mode key 4x (HR, workout 1, stopwatch, compass) on the 4th click it should have temperature correct? even on the 5th click it shows activity, 6th click it shows training status, 7th shows Notifications. On the 8th click it goes back to time/date face!!! I looked over all the Casio manuals and they all say it should be on the 4th click/mode but no temperature WHY? I bought the watch only a week ago.
Gi-Shock-Go Hi - great to see someone reviewing this watch and actually mentioning some of its issues instead of simply saying that it’s great. It’s great - I love it - I’ve always been a. G-Shock fan and I’m a runner so was very excited when I saw they were releasing this watch. I agree that the notifications should be able to be tailored to what you want to see, for example I don’t need to see emails - just messages, calls etc. My main issue is the so called ‘permanent’ Bluetooth connection - it’s not permanent - or at least it is if you keep the phone within the pathetic 2 metre range - is you just go out of range for a second - it loses it’s connection, to get it to reconnect you have to close the app, or turn Bluetooth off and on again, this is not good. Also - I’m in the UK so our date format is Day/Month/Year - not Month/Day/Year - there needs to be a way of changing this. Also - this may be partly to do with the G Shock Move app - but the recovery time doesn’t move - it stays the same on the phone app and the watch. If you are in contact with anyone from Casio - I hope they pay attention to what you’ve said. Another observation - it that during your video - the heart rate sensor continued to show a reading - despite not being anywhere near your wrist. I’m not convinced it’s too accurate even when it’s on my wrist to be honest - so I’d say this needs looking at too. Again - great video btw! 👍🏻
99% it won't be sufficient. 14 hours with GPS, 66 hours with HR running constantly. That's without any light. In full direct sunlight it might cover up for the power drain, but I would be hesitant. They say it's 9 minutes at direct sunlight (50k Lux) for 1-day operations (time keeping + BT 12h + 1 alarm + 1 backlight etc.). So in real outdoor conditions I'd say it's feasible to have a weekend without a charge, keeping HR and GPS (only while walking) on, provided that it's sunny during the day. Longer, few-days-long trips - nope. The good thing however is that when you drain the battery to a low level, HR and GPS is automatically switched off, leaving time keeping and BT notifications active for several weeks. So it won't die on you in the middle of nowhere. You'll just loose GPS tracking and HR monitoring.
I got this feeling that my Garmin Fenix 6X is soooo much more practical in the menu/usage.......but I just like the looks very much of these big undestroyable Casios. Thanks for your reviews btw, keep up the good work.
Manual says 1 year. And that is without the solar support. So in normal use, without (or with occasional HR / GPS use) you don't need to use the charger at all. If you want details / confirmation. Ask me in a year ;) So far mine is holding, but I only got it yesterday. 1 battery bar down after playing around with HR and GPS for a few hours. Without them it's holding still. Even if auto-backlight is not helping ;)
@@sanketnegi1 LOL, yes :) Well, since the watch itself is kinda crap in terms of anything 'smart' and Casio did ZERO improvements in this regards (still notifications are the lest menu entry, still no option to choose which apps' notifications should go to the watch, still lousy app stability and syncing issues etc.) I almost don't use it. It just works as a big display G-Shock for me that more often than not also shows on the screen that something happens on the phone. Battery - 1 year declaration without solar support is probably possible without Bluetooth on. Anyways, with solar charging and with very little GPS usage, I don't need to use the cable. Last time I used one was spring 2021 when I brought the charge level to 2 bars due to GPS active while cycling. On a daily basis GPS and HR measurement are both off. Only BT active. In December the battery dropped to ca. 50% (half the bars). So, with lots of outdoor time but no GPS or HR, battery will have plenty of juice, like normal 'Tough Solar' Casio watches. In the fall and winter, with more indoor time and little sunlight exposure, it slowly discharges. 1 year would be questionable though. Surely, if one uses this as activity tracker with HR and GPS, cable will be in frequent use. If used only as a watch with notifications and HR only occasionally, then if one allows some outdoor light exposure during the summer, then indeed - cable won't be needed throughout the year.
Text messages don’t show up - I’ve emailed tech support as I’m sure others have. It’s a glitch in the software. They also need to allow you to press the run button while the notification is on the screen so you can read it.

Does the watch seamlessly reconnect to the phone? In other words, if the phone and watch separate, will the watch automatically reconnect to the phone?
Yes and no. If the watch is on your wrist or you've pressed some buttons recently, they'll reconnect. If the watch was inactive for over an hour and you're not moving it, then BT is disabled on it (icon blinking, app on the phone says 'waiting for connection...').

I am very dissapointed with this function. Do you have any suggestion how to fix this situation with poor BT reconnection?
@@AnteZuvela Nothing like that happening with mine, it's just a veery low range - e.g. connection dropped even if the phone is in another room. Regarding the issue with reconnecting, I'd check how many BT devices does your phone 'remember' and maybe clean this up. It might also be good to forget the watch and pair it again, so that it lands on top of the list (last one to 'forget'). Also, if you pair many devices with the phone, there may be a limit (actually not might be, but is) of simultaneously supported BT connections. If you switch all BT devices off, except for the watch and the phone, then give it a try. If reconnecting won't happen within seconds from being in range and moving the watch (it can't be laying still) then probably it's the fault of the guy 5 comments above ;)
@@Waybeyond Thanks a lot, I think that may have been the problem because I had lot of BT devices on my list, now I put G-shock on first place and I'll check today if things get better. 🤔

Notifications are ok. I'm not sure if I expected it to be better or not. Do you think Gshock will provide updates on this watch to fix bugs etc? Also, do you think it will be open to 3rd party apps being sideloaded onto the watch?
Firmware is updatable. I already got an update on the first day of use. It fixed the issue described in some reviews (no notification for SMS) and probably brought some other improvements. I really hope for more updates fairly soon. Especially allowing to customize the watch menu layout :)

Please help! I have the newer version (gbd h2000) and when i click on the mail notification it does not show me the actual message. I have an android phone, with every permission i can find turned on. I hope someone can help
I need to get more out of my battery what can I turn off, or what do I do about gps, I love it, of course it has short falls that will be addressed, in later updates, I just want that 14hrs of battery life
how do you read your text messages? It only tells me I have a message but I can read my emails
Hello,my app isn't finding ( pairing ) my watch.Even if l did everything right it didn't find it.
Yah i had so many problems with it too. But i managed to get it. Stay away from any wireless devices, unpair it from your bluetooth on phone, then pair it again from the app.
ShadoStorm Thank you !👍
How you switch on and off !????????
Notifications are ok. I'm not sure if I expected it to be better or not. Do you think Gshock will provide updates on this watch to fix bugs etc? Also, do you think it will be open to 3rd party apps being sideloaded onto the watch?
Firmware is updatable. I already got an update on the first day of use. It fixed the issue described in some reviews (no notification for SMS) and probably brought some other improvements. I really hope for more updates fairly soon. Especially allowing to customize the watch menu layout :)
what about whatsapp notifications? i can see is a bit limited notifications functionality.
How Is the vibration? is strong and noticeable?
Thanks
Whatsapp comes as "other". The vibration is barely noticeable for me.
I think you need a glases
because I have one and I see it perfectly well
