Never Left Sanctuary - Revisited, Revamped, and Rebuilt

  • A while back I tried the "never left Sanctuary" challenge done by so many others, and it came out pretty good, all things considered: • Never Left Sanctuary -...
Lately, though, I've been casting around for inspiration to continue the megabuild and in the process, loaded this save. Figured I'd fiddle around with it a bit to see what happened, and one thing led to another, and... well, here we are.
Hopefully this'll give you some ideas for your own builds, or maybe you'll give this unusual way of playing the game a shot. It can be really fun as long as you take it in small doses. ;)
    Thanks for watching.

Some clever improvements! I like that tip you added about building/grouping and dropping buildings. And the XP farm! This is starting to feel like Minecraft! I really like the way you built the building around Codsworth.

The way to cheerfully explain how you get your caps and armour... you and Dixie from Nuka World would make fast friends!
You've definitely figured out how to survive and thrive in the wasteland! Good stuff as always

Thanks! More of a Mags associate, really; the Disciples are a liiiiitle too extreme for me. Cold callous calculations for caps? That's the ticket. ;)

This is EXACTLY what a character with 10 Charisma and 10 Intelligence would do. Great roleplaying 👍

This player is something crazy. Instead of going out finding your son. You hunker down at Sanctuary and isolate yourself from the wasteland. Farming food and merciless mercs who dare stepped foot into this place of isolation is the only thing you can do. Scrapping is a hobby in this settlement and those who come to this isolating place stay until they give out. While the wasteland dies out, this small cabal of settlers stand their ground, no faction to lead. Just the will and temperment to survive.
This build just makes me wonder, what would happen if this Sole Survivor stepped out of Sanctuary Hills after building up this community. Would this cabal of factionless people survive without their leader. If this Sole Survivor left Sanctuary, what would become of the people who inhabit it, most importantly what would become of this Sole Survivor. This character is isolated from the rest of the wasteland, tied to one place. I imagine if this person left Sanctuary, they would tread into the wasteland a lot differently then you or i did. But thats just some philosophical nonsense. This build is still amazing

Hi Sar, in all the hours (& hours) that I've studied builds I don't think that I've seen the stores in Sanctuary windows. I'm coincidentally starting to rebuild my old settlements, I got a Sanctuary wall all the around the build area, yep my Sanctuary is that old. I think I finished it just after concrete showed up....... so this is timely. Loving the work... Ed

    • @SarDeliac

Thanks! I've never seen 'em in there either; that was definitely a move born of necessity. I wanted to push the shops back from the street to widen the approach, but the level 3s have a big footprint so there wasn't enough room for a standalone building like I like.

In my Sanctuary build, I currently have 35 people living there. I have 47 beds scattered throughout the area and one of the settlers recently had the nerve to tell me that someone was complaining about the bed situation.

    • @SarDeliac
      @SarDeliac  3 роки тому +2

Check to see if they've unassigned themselves from the beds--they only complain when they're not assigned to one, and with 35 people, the odds of peculiar settler behavior (including randomly unassigning themselves from crops, stores, and/or beds) is pretty high.

    • @michaelproctor8100
      @michaelproctor8100 3 роки тому

@@SarDeliac Thanks for the tip. I've never assigned beds to anyone since there were more beds than people, and if they can unassign at will I really don't see any point to assign them.

    Great build.
I have recently started my own Never Left Sanctuary build. Starring Amanda Blane (seemed to me to be a good name for someone who, overall, wouldn't explore much, and just be a leader of a settlement. ;-) Also kind of sounds like 'bland'. :-D ).
    I'm enjoying it.
But I admit, I haven't followed the rules exactly.
I did leave Sanctuary, went to Red Rocket, and went down to unlock Trashcan Carla.
    Other than that... haven't left.
Also, I would love to see you do vids of you building.
I really enjoy watching those. It helps give me ideas as well as seeing how something can be done. Like Paul's wire glitch. And his newest WiFi power glitch.
Have you considered making videos showing you building your settlements?
I would totally watch them. 👍
Again, great work. I love your channel. 😎

Thanks for the kind words! There are lots of in-progress build videos around here, for sure; the Settlements and Survival series, after episode 16 or so, is almost all build videos, for instance, and there are a bunch in the Megabuild series. If the title doesn't say "settlement tour" it's probably a build video. ;)

I gave up after 30 min of reloading and not getting crystal. I went to the concord speakeasy for the camera. After deceasing a bunch of settlers I realized I could probably just have made them leave sanctuary. Once I leave I will do the nuka world "evil" run and subdue the other settlements. The murdering and lack of food drove the character insane

To some this might be stupid...but I never ever left sanctuary! I love the building and cleaning aspect! The only mod I use is to clean more of the sanctuary..like manually delete rocks and bushes u normally can't. But yea.. I never actually played this game. And I don't mind it! Great video BTW! It helps!

Works great. I built an enclosure, put some turrets around it and give the weapons to my settlers who are alerted by a siren I trigger with the same switch I use to open the gunner cage.

That was very good, something different, just watched both before and after vids. I suppose if you could stick it out and level up to 50+ you'd enter the wasteland a very powerful character making missions easier to get through right from the start. I've generally followed a pattern of scrapping everything, building myself a good sized home with all amenities necessary, then with the spare wood built and scrapped posts to get XP points then heading out, but this generally is level 15 - 20 ish coz there's only so many wooden posts I can face looking at! Never thought of this route.. Learning all the time

@@SarDeliac Hi again. So....I've took up the challenge but I couldn't find any crystal at all, the box did not have it nor anywhere else. So I had to cheat a bit by visiting Carla to trade for some, map still reads nowhere else visited but unfortunately this was the only way to get round it. Obv in Sanctuary now and i do have the perk of Carla visiting but it's bloody hard coz I have no money, no steel, 6 settlers, only level 9 so no shops as yet, but, I am enjoying it. Just have to be patient till the crops keep multiplying. Do have a Raider cage though and some spare Jet so that'll be handy. I'll keep you posted, TTFN

    • @fatbaldandover40

New update. Now at level 24 with 20 settlers a few stores, plenty of crops & water, and raider and gunner cages, so resources starting to come in now all but slowly. I was just wondering how far you, or anybody else that has tried this, has gone because I seem to be at a stalemate. I can't build anymore without fear of a game crash but really the settlement is big enough anyway plus I was getting some fps drop, and it feels as though all you can do now is sit and watch the days go by till it's time to gather the goods. I suppose this is the objective but this is where it could get a bit boring. I've really enjoyed this so far, I've never put as much time and thought into a settlement before. Been getting some great building tips from your vids also. Cheers TTFN
