The 1 moa dot on the Eotech really shines with a magnifier. It's noticeable with non magnified use but when you go 3-5x and start shooting out to 300+ it's huge.

Going to just throw this out there. I use a Holosun 3x magnifier. Multipurpose, magnifies my red dot when needed, use as a counterweight on my Bonnie hat mounted PVS-14, also used as a magnifier FoR my PVS-14 if I need to see something at distance at night. It works, and it’s convenient. Might sound weird, but it is what it is. Us poors got a do what we got a do! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
SICK MAGPUL MOE FIXED CARBINE STOCK DUDE!!! Once I found these gems at, funny enough, a back corner of my own work place, I cannot go back. I’ve got 3 and bought one for my brother to try. Also spent a bit in black paint and magpul QD type1 mount things or whatever, ya know because they come with two holes that could hold QD sling mounts if you buy them, but damn if they’re coming off them for free. …. Worth it And I’m talking old cardboard *colored* cardboard box stock, and there is no color selection, IE they all come in that weird pale off-green, not the slick OD green you got. Still, bit of paint fixes that and” I’ll fuckin do it again !!”
I thought for sure that my Romeo 4x would be a "hold me over until i want to soend more money" optic, but i absolutely love it. Its a bit heavy, but thats fine. It hops between my 5.56 and my polymer .22lr squirrel gun, and i like the weight it adds to the .22 because that plastic gun moves with my fucking heartbeat.
Personally I like my Holosun HM3X. The supplied QD mount is a nice touch, it works really well for the price, and the glass is surprisingly clear. For 150-160 bucks, it’s hard to beat.
I liked mine when I had it, but the mount went to pot right away. Wore out to where it wouldn't sit anywhere close to even with the red dot and got all floppy.
I was looking for a 4x and since Eotech decided they only make 3x and 5x at that time, I gave them the finger both on rds and magnifier. Bought a Juliet 4x. Solid mount, can make use of my bdc too. If one of you is thinking about a romeo and juliet combo, be aware that different height plates and the other mount is not included if they throw them together in one box. Bought both separately, so If a different height is chosen, I don't have to pay 50+60 bucks for tiny spacers. It's like being punished for buying both. A lot can do a good 3x, so I might take something else like Holosun on that one if I like the mount. If not, Juliet again, maybe a prism.
How the hell is it possible this got uploaded 1 hour ago, just as I was looking into this and had been looking at your video from 1 year ago. “Happy thanksgiving guys” was a jump scare for me.
I have the Holosun and it works. The "jiggle" can be fixed by taking the tensioner tab (or whatever its called) out and slightly bending it to add pressure, really easy fix!
Honestly I feel like the best magnification is 4x but there are so few good ones of those in the market for some reason, they all do 3x then 5x is the prism market then we have 6x magnifiers on the high end. Those compact magnifiers are light but then you have to mount them even further back. I like some of the ideas of offset prism with red dot as primary or even flip to side prisms if they ever can get them to return to zero perfectly each time. I wish unity would make 1.93 4x mag height option
Value Chinese optics man here , I love my vector optics paragon 3x mag, it's basically trimmed out thin bezel eazy adjusting vortex 3x at half the price, pairs well with VT compatible aftermarket mount, and comes with cool button pressing pop open mount.
The new Spuhr mount for Aimpoint is a game changer. Weight reduction and flexibility in one package . If you don’t mind the $1,600 price tag for Micro T2, 3X P magnifier and Spuhr mount. 🥰
A small foot print Magpul MBUS pro rear sight and a long bodied Holosun 3x (remove and plug adjustment tool) allow for the magnifier to be positioned far back for decent eye relief.
The PA Microprisms do come with a mount, and it's a pretty versatile one that gives you like 5 different height and distance options. It's the same style as the mini ACOG mounts and is compatible with them.
Ive had the same experiences. Tried so many magnifiers and theyre all the same shit. Comes down to size of body+eye relief. I like the longer magnifiers because they cantalever the eye relief closer for me
I agree, they're still the best "general purpose" compromise. I still have a couple to pop behind my RDS equipped rifles. They're pretty old school too, one's a civilian Aimpoint 3x in an old Larue QD mount and the other is one of the earlier Primary Arms Long Eye Relief 30mm 3x in PA's Larue Style flip to side with a hex nut mount. That said, I also use LPVOs and HPVOs for ARs set up specifically for precision/accuracy.
I hate LVPOs so I've tried a lot of magnifiers myself and I always end up going back to the EOTech G33. Eye relief, glass quality and durability are the best in the 3x class. Worth the extra money over the budget options.
@@nathanskupowski4726 For the distances I need to use them in, LVPOs are worse. Heavier, bulkier and mounting them suck. Magnifiers are easy to swap in and out of setups.
Great video. Thank you. 🙏 Do you have a suggestion for a combination with a lift mount where I can see through flip iron sites under the ret dot? Thanks a lot🤓
I’m currently doing the champagne-in-a-beer-glass thing by pairing an EXPS3 with a Holosun HM3x. I like it. Watching this video for pre-Thanksgiving dinner entertainment and to see if I need to pony up for the darn Eotech magnifier.
What mount do you have on the hm3x? I have a g33 and am hm3x and I honestly prefer the holosun. It's not quite as clear but has way better eye relief and a better eye box. I'm also using a eotech exps 3
@@chanceking2182 I’m using the stock mount on the HM3x and didn’t know there was a more robust aftermarket mount until I saw this video! I usually run the rifle with the magnifier “on” (i.e. in line with the main optic), as I’ve been working up hunting loads and using the rifle to train new shooters. So I haven’t put too much stress on the flip mount yet. I really like the glass clarity and long body of the Holosun - looks great with the Eotech and fits easily over a folded MBUS rear sight while preserving correct eye relief. I agree that the eye box is pretty chill too; that was a nice surprise.
I like red dot/magnafire combo on my custom 300blkout SBR I built. Perfect for it as it was built for subsonics supressed and is ment for 0 to 150yd engagement. For my 14.7" custom 5.56 i run a Sig Tango6 LPVO. On my 16" custom 5.56 I run a 4x32mm Trijicon ACOG dual illuminated green cross hair.
I have a Juliet Micro 3 that I switched out the mount on for a button-less QD mount made by Sig and I've been extremely happy with it. I have it paired with an Eotech 512.
Hey a guy named Matt said I shouldn’t watch this and it’s trash, but then said that’s his opinion only. And then he said I shouldn’t care about pedigree and people’s background, but then he said his opinion does matter because he’s a grand master cuck or something like that. I’m confused now lol. Love your content man, thanks for posting, and go buy colored Christmas lights, you deserve it.
My T2 on a 1.93 Geissele mount matches up perfectly with my g33 with stock mount and folds perfectly over my mbus rear sight on a .2in riser (backup sights are still lower 1/3 visible through the T2 - backup sights still required by my department) It's the perfect setup for my taste.
G33 > G43 I bought the 43 because new, small, cool etc but oh my... There is soooo little margine of error for your headplacement. The G33 is way better in that regard.
I bought a handful of cheap Primary Arms magnifiers years ago, thinking I’d upgrade at some point, but I haven’t had a need yet. Maybe if they make a cheap 6x with decent eye box? An important aspect to review that was not mentioned is whether the flip to-side mount can be reversed, for lefties.
I love my Primary Arms 6x Glx magnifier. Super light weight, clear glass and the same eye relief as my 3x magnifiers. I pair it with the EXPS 3-4 and love the ability to make easy hits on steel out to 500-600 yards. Granted any standard LED based red dot will look like trash under 6x magnification.
Any suggestions for those that are set up for an absolute co-witness height? I'm using an Aimpoint Pro in an ADM mount and MBUS sights. Thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions.
I've used vortex, eotech, Primary Arms and Sig Juliet 3x magnifiers. I like the Sig Juliet 3x, better clarity and a true 3x magnification. A little big, but using it for 2 years I don't notice the size. Durability? 4 rifle classes and numerous range sessions prove it's worth to me.
Because I'm left-handed and wanted to reverse the mount, I had to have a shop shave off part of the Vortex Micro3X QD lever to fit it with my backup irons (it was bumping up against the UH-1 I run). Honestly, shortening that lever would make a lot of sense as the factory default.
I've got the Vortex 3X magnifier paired with a UH1. The magnifier has a QD mount and I like it a lot. With the pro discount I'd buy another even to pair with an EOTECH.
I think etching a reticle into magnifiers would make lpvo’s crazy niche. Red dot & etched reticle magnifier would also kill the ACOG as long as the magnifier is bomb proof. All the utility you need, extra weight only when necessary…it’s a win/win I think
acog ta02 with a red dot on top is sort of offering the same and more tho so I dont think it would kill the acog. I have both and I'd be torn if I had to decide for only one
@ oh for sure the right answer is to buy them all brother, I’m honestly leaning towards the EXACT same setup you mentioned. TA02 or TA110 with an ACRO C2 up top on an 11.5. If it’s on a QD mount you could swap it between that and say a 12.5 or 14.5 depending on how much sauce you want/need to add to your rounds. I’m curious to see just how close to “do it all” I can get with it
13:10 Samson Mfg. make the "Quick Flip" adapter plate so you can bolt the Aimpoint onto an EOTech flip-to-side mount. You _might_ need to trim the rubber outer cover a little as the plate sits very tight to the magnifier body. It's a bit janky, but it works fine. They also made actual dedicated FTS mounts for the 3xMag but those are discontinued 🤷🏻♂️
I use an aimpoint compM5B with a primary arms 3x Pegasus magnifier on a (discontinued) ADM mount that lets you cantilever mount it pretty far back even though it's a compact magnifier. The range stadia in the Pegasus works great with the ballistic turret in the CompM5B. Makes walking out to 500 yards a breeze on the UKD range
I really like my Vortex micro 3x. Really fine optic from a company with a great warranty. Lost a screw a couple night shoots back and vortex sent me 2 new ones for free with a little swag extra.
I really like the idea of a magnifier with a ranged reticle. I think it would pair really well with the classic eotech single dot reticle. I wish more people were making them.
I have the eotech combo on 2 rifles but recently I tried out the primary arms x1 prism either 3x micro magnifier and, to my own surprise, I really like it.
I won’t lie, this is the fourth time you’ve released a video where you’re giving your thoughts on an item that I’m either currently seriously considering buying, or have already bought.
Merry Hopsgiving! I’m shopping for my first magnifier and this video was informative and confirmed some of concerns with running buis some of them. I haven’t been able to find much info on it but the Sig Juliet 3 with the longer body and QD (not the micro) seems like a good option without loosing my buis.
BTW the PA pegasis micro 3x can actually work with the Unity 2.26 or whatever FTC mount however the ranging reticle is upside down and you have to file/grind a bit of the black rail clamp on the QD lever side of the Unity FTC mount which I was fine with because that portion of the Unity mount is cheap to replace. Its still not able to close perfectly because the housing around the 3x turret is raised up a lot more than it needs to be but when fully closed it still locks into place and its only like 1 degree off so works fine however if you wanted to you could grind it down more but you'd also have to then grind the magnifier housing down a bit around both of the turrets because both would would start to impact the mount itself at that point so it sorta just works at least in the limited time I've had mine. Again I've had mine a short period of time but personally so far I wish I went with the 5x because it's paired with my Eotech Exps3-4 (4 dot version) on my POF Renegade 10.5" .300 blk (AR platform but with several improvements like full ambi controls which Hop absolutely loves...) and maybe its just my eye but its really hard to focus on each individual dot and they're so close together that its almost useless at least for me with my eyes and in my very limited 100rd 1 range day experience aka don't take this as fact because its just my opinion at this moment in time and it'll without a doubt change to some degree next time I take it to the range but I'd bet I'll end up getting and preferring a 4x or 5x for the 4 dot eotech but I think the 3x would be fine with a single dot red dot its just theres too much clutter and too many dots in such a small section of your FOV to really utilize them or rather thats my opinion so far
I swear to christ Hop, I just bought a g33 last night on an early Black Friday deal, if you do not validate my purchase with this video I'm coming to take Socko away.

How dare you have an opinion and share it with the masses. ❤
He calls himself Hop but I bet he didn't even qualify for the Hopscotch nationals.
damn this is perfect timing, i was just looking up magnifiers for black friday sales
…. Worth it
And I’m talking old cardboard *colored* cardboard box stock, and there is no color selection, IE they all come in that weird pale off-green, not the slick OD green you got. Still, bit of paint fixes that and” I’ll fuckin do it again !!”
But have you worn a helmet for 20 years and do you eat pedigree dog food?
I'm a cat
I thought for sure that my Romeo 4x would be a "hold me over until i want to soend more money" optic, but i absolutely love it. Its a bit heavy, but thats fine. It hops between my 5.56 and my polymer .22lr squirrel gun, and i like the weight it adds to the .22 because that plastic gun moves with my fucking heartbeat.
Personally I like my Holosun HM3X. The supplied QD mount is a nice touch, it works really well for the price, and the glass is surprisingly clear. For 150-160 bucks, it’s hard to beat.
I like it BUT the titanium one is worth it for the size and real estate
@@hailtothe_rooster1572it has a weird eye relief problem though. You have to get nose to charging handle to use it.
@@hailtothe_rooster1572 I don't like the titanium one because it's shorter so the eyebox is in a bad place vs the fullsize aluminum one
I liked mine. Its the best budget magnifier for sure. I did upgrade to a g33 though and haven't looked back
I liked mine when I had it, but the mount went to pot right away.
Sig does sell the force to overcome mounts separately on their website. The micro and full size magnifiers also share a mount footprint.
Great video as always. I’d be curious to hear your thought on the Meprolight MMX3. I’ve found that it outperforms my 3X-P for a significant discount.
4X is the best. I have the Meprolight MMX4, very well made, has QD mount, and eye relief is good so I can keep my backup sights
Agree. The micro short boy magnifiers basically means you cannot mount them in front of BUIS due to eye relief.
4x just _is_ the sweet spot for intermediate rifle magnification.
🥰
Happy Hopsgiving
The romeo 4xt and magnifier is one of my favorites
I'm literally in the market for a mag, this is perfect timing. You're the man
A small foot print Magpul MBUS pro rear sight and a long bodied Holosun 3x (remove and plug adjustment tool) allow for the magnifier to be positioned far back for decent eye relief.
The PA Microprisms do come with a mount, and it's a pretty versatile one that gives you like 5 different height and distance options. It's the same style as the mini ACOG mounts and is compatible with them.
The Prisms do, but the magnifiers use an EOTech pattern iirc.
Happy Thanksgiving brother.
Didn’t know much about magnifier except basically the name. Thanks for the good information for a somewhat new modifier
I was just looking at Magnifiers and NGAL clones, this is the best firearms channel for a realistic opinion. My OCD is only moderately crippling.
I hate LVPOs so I've tried a lot of magnifiers myself and I always end up going back to the EOTech G33. Eye relief, glass quality and durability are the best in the 3x class. Worth the extra money over the budget options.
The eye relief is worst than the Holosun HM3X though (2.2" vs 2.75")
weighs 15% more
and costs 3x as much
Magnifiers are objectively worse and magnifying than lpvos, how come you hate them
@@nathanskupowski4726 For the distances I need to use them in, LVPOs are worse. Heavier, bulkier and mounting them suck. Magnifiers are easy to swap in and out of setups.
I agree lpvos are cancer to use and the eye relief on them is always gay and retarded
@@Tarburz I felt the Holosun's stats didn't quite match up to reality and build quality seemed better in the EOTech.
Great video. Thank you. 🙏 Do you have a suggestion for a combination with a lift mount where I can see through flip iron sites under the ret dot? Thanks a lot🤓
Happy thanksgiving Hop! This has rapidly become one of my favorite channels and I always am grateful to see you pop up. Hope you had a great day.
I love my 3x aimpoint magnifier
I have a Vortex Micro3x for my EOTech, couldn't be happier, it's super nice. Not to mention it was good value.
@FMDad-dm5qo Cool thanks. I'm assuming you needed a spacer with the hm3x. I'll have to check if I have one in the box
@@chanceking2182 you can run the HM3x at lower 1/3 height with what comes in the box, so that’s what I did
I like red dot/magnafire combo on my custom 300blkout SBR I built.
Looking forward to your review of stalker 2.
I have a Juliet Micro 3 that I switched out the mount on for a button-less QD mount made by Sig and I've been extremely happy with it.
I have it paired with an Eotech 512.
“… I’m going back to lower 1/3.”
Don’t call it a comeback - been here for years.
Love your content man, thanks for posting, and go buy colored Christmas lights, you deserve it.
no way Matt Reeves 😢
@@ongjunhongno some fat boomer. Never heard of him before.
My T2 on a 1.93 Geissele mount matches up perfectly with my g33 with stock mount and folds perfectly over my mbus rear sight on a .2in riser (backup sights are still lower 1/3 visible through the T2 - backup sights still required by my department)
It's the perfect setup for my taste.
G33 > G43
I bought the 43 because new, small, cool etc but oh my... There is soooo little margine of error for your headplacement.
The G33 is way better in that regard.
Thats strange ive heard people say the eye relief and eye box is more forgiving on the g43.
Yup, the G33 is to me still superior to the G43 and especially the G45 in eye relief. I found the 5x to be the worse of the bunch.
Laughs in iron sights and accuracy by volume
I bought a handful of cheap Primary Arms magnifiers years ago, thinking I’d upgrade at some point, but I haven’t had a need yet. Maybe if they make a cheap 6x with decent eye box?
An important aspect to review that was not mentioned is whether the flip to-side mount can be reversed, for lefties.
I have the Sig 3x magnifier. It does what it's supposed to and was easy to make it flip to left instead of right.
I love being called a Prism Chud. I’ll wear it as a badge of honor.
Honestly, shortening that lever would make a lot of sense as the factory default.
lol I bought a g33 on sale for Black Friday (100 off) and I’m feeling pretty good about it now. Gonna be fun to run it with my Eotech!
I’m curious to see just how close to “do it all” I can get with it
@ I'd choose a 14.5 for a do it all. sometimes less flash than a supressed sbr. *and the acog bdc is on point
I’m thankful for Hop. Happy Thanksgiving
Got the Meprolight M21 and plan on getting their micro 4x magnifier. Love the M21 so hoping I like their magnifier too.
No I will not come join family dinner mom, Hop just dropped a thanksgiving video…
I have the eotech combo on 2 rifles but recently I tried out the primary arms x1 prism either 3x micro magnifier and, to my own surprise, I really like it.
You're not a sponsored competitive shooter so I'm not sure I can believe you don't have a financial incentive here.
I won’t lie, this is the fourth time you’ve released a video where you’re giving your thoughts on an item that I’m either currently seriously considering buying, or have already bought.
Why would you lie about something like that?
That's because we're all NPCs inside the Hopsverse.
@@benw4401 because they’re probably a redditard that doesn’t have a clue about how common phrases or words are properly used
Merry Hopsgiving!
