@BombproofCraftsman Glad you're still here with us. I lost a few but the ones i managed to save really helped me. You boys definitely saved my ass a few times.. US Marines covered our patrols from the sky with hueys and gunships. Much love
I think this is the best GWOT era documentary I've seen since Restrepo. An excellent mixture of archival footage and first-hand accounts. This should be required viewing before someone enters Congress or the Presidency, they need to know the consequences of war.
This is going to be a tough watch knowing these guys personally. I have pictures of Holder, Blake, and Kyle on my office wall. EDIT: since I have the top comment visibly, make sure you text and call your brothers and check in, even to just say hi. It can really make a difference, esspecially this month if you served during this time. It's a tough time of year and for some reason milestone anniversaries seem to have a greater impact. I made my orginal comment before watching and immidiately texted some of these guys after to tell them how proud I am of them for doing this. It takes courage to put yourself out there and talk about it.
And yet George Bush isn't in jail and the media and establishment treat him like he's some loving old grandpa these days instead of the war criminal he is. And his evil partner in crime Dick Cheney is being touted as some compass for law and morals being paraded around by the Democrats and media to talk about how much of a threat Trump is to this country and our democracy. Bush and Cheney should be spending the rest of their lives in prison for all the US soldiers and Iraqi civilians they got killed, all the US soldiers who were permanently maimed and all the ones who have since killed themselves since serving in this war.. It pisses me off to my core seeing these soldiers who went through hell and paid the ultimate sacrifice while Bush and Cheney got filthy rich and Israel and BiBI Netanyahu got the US to do their dirty work for them.

Thank you BRCC for this documentary. To the soldiers of the USMC, I thank you for telling your story the way it needed to be told. My father, Robert O'Malley, was an original member of the 1st BN/9th Marines in Vietnam. He served 3 tours there, including the time when I was born in 1965. He never enjoyed talking about his service in Vietnam, but every story I can remember involved the soldiers and men he served with in the USMC, and the friends he made in the country of Vietnam. My dad was my hero growing up. My heros now are you. My dad committed suicide last year on 12/06/2023, primarily based on his PTSD, and the lack of help he received following his service. I hope that every one of you know that you are loved by people you have never met, and that there are people like me, who honor your service to our country, but especially, to the sacrifices you each made to the soldier next to you. I am a former enlisted man and officer of the US Army. I have seen my share of the sacrifices and death in combat from people we love, cherish, and call friends. Thank you for your commitment, service, and willingness to share you stories here. Respect, sincerely, Daniel O'Malley. PS-I inherited several packets of my dad's camera slides from his service. I have been copying them, but would like suggestions as to where I can save them or share them so that those memories won't just go into oblivion. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -DanO.
Unbelievably powerful. Reminds youngster like myself that war is not a game. We have been desensitised by video games and popular culture and this is a painful reminder that war is something to be avoided at all costs. RIP to those heroes.

Had to find out on the DoD’s website about Kyle’s passing before I was able to hear about it directly from my boyfriend at the time. Had the distinct pleasure of knowing many of these Marines and Navy Corpsmen personally. The brotherhood and bond they share and their continued efforts to honor their fallen brothers is without equal. It’s been 20 years, and my respect for all these men knows no bounds.
Why are you thanking the fallen? You get that we full-out INVADED Afghanistan, right? For literally no reason? (And don't gimmie that 'Bin Laden' nonsense - he was in Pakistan the whole time and our intel agencies knew it - and that's if he even had anything to do with 9/11 in the first place, which he clearly didn't) You understand by every measure, we were the belligerent invader, and we were actually IN THE ROLE that everyone everywhere has always identified as "The Bad Guy"? So why are you thanking the fallen? What security were their lives buying us?
Armendariz is my nephew and when he entered this deployment, he wasn’t even old enough to buy beer but he was brave enough to put his own life on the line like so many other young men and women serving in the armed forces. Praise be to God for these warriors ❤

@chazzbranigaan9354 ... Jack Mandaville is the producer of the video. He organized all the interviews of us and put this great documentary together. He is also a Marine that i went to SOI and LAV school with. We deployed to Iraq together for the initial invasion and returned back state side. A few months later he was sent on another deployment with Bravo company while we remained in Charlie Company. Our deployments were offset and he heard of our battles in Fallujah. He decided to put our stories together and produce this great film.
Seeing these stories helps kick myself in the ass and reminds me that my job as a civilian is to honor these Americans by living a life worth their sacrifice. God bless yall.
Get smart, swole, and fit for your OWN sake.... but remember, Afghanistan was a 1000% unambiguous certified illegal, unnecessary, unjustified aggressive invasion by the USA. It served exactly ZERO purpose except to generate almost $10 TRILLION in MIC revenue and kickbacks for politicians.... And the men who participated aren't 'brave', they're subservient butchers-of-humans -> The truth is that any man who would debase himself enough to fight in an unnecessary war like this is actually a coward, because only somebody with deep internal problems would sign up for a war like that. Improve yourself and be the best that you can be, but DO NOT idolize these debased 'men', because their way of thinking leads you down a DARK and dead-end path.

LAV-25 as a Vehicle Commander, Scout, and ended my career as a Chief Scout (E-5). Thank you for making this video. Our story is foreign even to most Marines. I come from a family of Marines. I was an M60A1 crewman back in the Reagan years. I have a son currently serving in Camp Lejeune, and another who is in LAR with the 1st MarDiv as a LAV-25 crewman right now. My late father saw combat with the 1st MarDiv at Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, and Okinawa during WW2. I'll never forget when the battle of Fallujah was ongoing, and on the news, he told me he was so proud of these young Marines, and that the Marine Corps has given nothing up in terms of still forging young men to do the impossible when asked. He said what he saw on TV led him to believe the fight for Fallujah was every bit as hard as Okinawa, or Peleliu, if not harder. He was proud to have been a 1st MarDiv Marine until the end of his days, and I only wish he could have lived long enough to see the fine Marines his grand sons have become. Today is the Marine Corps 249th birthday. Semper Fidelis brothers, and sisters. Your heroism, and suffering have become the unforgettable stuff of legends. Again.
This is exactly the sort of story telling I would expect from the producers. REALITY! What an incredibly moving tribute to the marines. I also recommend reading "house to house" by David Bellavia to get the US Army's perspective on this operation.

I’m so glad these guys released this documentary because people need to know the real story of the real hero’s of those wars. Everyone always thinks of Seals and Special Ops guys, but these are the real Warriors and I’ll tell you that they don’t get the recognition they deserve. 03’s and 0313 Infantryman Marines or 11B Army Infantry Soldiers are those unsung hero’s that do the hard fighting house to house, street to street, taking fire from every direction for hours, days, weeks and months at a time with no mention to their sacrifices of the war and they don’t care, but I did and I’ll let everyone know the real warriors always stay in the background because Hollywood won’t show the true brutality these guys endure and endure on others. I’m so proud that their stories are finally being told because these guys are all Special and now it’s time that people can see the real warriors that Hollywood has forgotten about because, they don’t realize or appreciate that these warriors are equally badass to any Navy Seal. Brothers, you are all Special Badasses to me and I understand your struggles, the horror, the challenges and the successes because without you guys in the fight, there’d be no need for RAMBO’s and I mean no disrespect to Rambo. I am a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant and I had the honor of serving as an LAV Instructor at SOI from 1986-1989, I also served with 2nd LAR Battalion as the Battalion Master Gunner during operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm assigned to 4th MEB. So coming from the 0313 MOS I knew a lot of the Marines from 1st and 3rd LAR Battalion’s and it was a pleasure being able to serve with my brothers for 31 years. Yes, through the good times and bad times it was both an honor and pleasure to serve with some of bravest, kindest most honorable MEN and WOMEN on this planet and would not hesitate for a second to serve with them again, that’s only if the Marine Corps would take an old 64 year Marine. I want to thank each and everyone of you great warriors for telling us all your stories and please know, we all appreciate the sacrifices and honorable service each of you have provided to a Grateful Country and most importantly our beloved United States Marine Corps, we will always be a true Band of Brothers that only we few have had the Honor of being called a “Marine”. From an old retired Marine who respects and loves his fellow Marines, all I can say is “Semper Fi”.

I went to vocal with Schmitz and Steziak. I ended up at Bravo. If you see either of them tell them Torres said what's up. I still remember getting recalled from Christmas leave in 02 because we at Bravo thought we were going. Then, last minute they told us it was Charlie got the nod.
Went to "bootcamp"

Sorry bro. Thank you and thanks to those that are no longer w us. Y’all are super humans!!
My platoon was doing CASEVACs for 1/8 Bravo while that shit was going on. I have fleeting memories of LAVs getting missed by rockets by like inches, but I had no idea Warpig got rocked that hard.

Man... BRCC, I dont know how you guys do it but I am glad you do. These stories are so important to tell. I'll spare the paragraph of how it hit me in the feels- keep up the great work.
Deeply moving. Finally, a real documentary that does justice to the men and women who fought there. Bravo!
Stories like these keep me humble. Well done.

Thanks for this video. I was in the 2nd battle of Fallujah with 2/7CAV and I appreciate the effort y'all put in to make this for the 20th anniversary.
Man, seeing these guys faces telling this story. I can not express how grateful I am for these men. God bless these men.
Thank you to everyone in this video, especially the fallen.
Why are you thanking the fallen?
You get that we full-out INVADED Afghanistan, right? For literally no reason? (And don't gimmie that 'Bin Laden' nonsense - he was in Pakistan the whole time and our intel agencies knew it - and that's if he even had anything to do with 9/11 in the first place, which he clearly didn't)
You understand by every measure, we were the belligerent invader, and we were actually IN THE ROLE that everyone everywhere has always identified as "The Bad Guy"?
So why are you thanking the fallen? What security were their lives buying us?
Damn brothers. I miss you all. This was hard to watch again, but needed. Love you all

How did this war serve us?
It's never easy to re-live these moments and to tell the story but we are glad you organized this Jack. Who is jack, all due respect just curious
Awesome job jack and BRCC. Thank you for telling our story.

Outstanding documentary- Thank you for giving honor by remembering these true warriors.
